Hotellet ligger lige overfor Operaen, ved siden af central station og 2 min gang fra Karl Johan Gata, simpelhen perfekt placering og er du heldig får du udsigt over Oslo fjorden. servicen i receptionen var super, morgenmaden var super, overhovedet intet at klage på. kan klart anbefales

Thon Hotel Opera ligger helt perfekt midt mellem banegården (lufthavnstog!) og operaen (havnefront), og med ganske få skridt til Karl Johan Gata (handelscentrum). Værelserne er nyindrettede og pinligt rene, men virker måske en anelse trange. Menusystemet på TV-et er en smule "bøvlet", men det er en bagatel. Idé til comfort-forbedring: Ekstra lille læselampe […] (på fleksibel slange - på hver side af sengen), der ikke generer ægtefællen. Hotellets personale er generelt høflige og veluddannede, bortset måske fra gutten i baren (men han havde måske blot en dårlig dag). Morgenmadsrestauranten har simpelthen alt, hvad hjertet kan begære, og det er super service - og en dejlig start på dagen - med de "smilende påfyldninger" ved bordene og de hurtige afrydninger fra bordene. Vi prøvede ikke at spise middag i restauranten, men forsøgte forgæves at få frokost (lunsch!) om søndagen. Restauranten bør bestemt overveje at tilbyde frokost om søndagen, hvor weekendgæster skal afrejse om eftermiddagen. Til prisen (gældende medio december 2011) var det en rigtig god oplevelse. All in all the Hotel is ok, but compared to their prices and what you would expect from a newly build business hotel like Thon it was just not good enough. The room was small like a closet and their was no iron for the shirt. Breakfast not served before 6 am. A real business hotel would know that a lot of their clients would want access to real breakfast […] before 6 am and especially would like to have a well ironed shirt for the upcomming meetings. Hotellet ligger overfor Oslo's nye Opera, som er et smukt byggeri, der selvfølgelig skal opleves. Jeg var der med mit barnebarn (8 år), stor oplevelse for os begge. Hotellet er også fint for børn, og morgenmaden er en særlig god oplevelse, med alt hvad man kan ønske sig. Desværre var alle tog til og fra Oslo aflyst, pgaf. ombygning, så flytoget var […] lavet om til flybus, hvor man skal skifte til tog i Lillestrøm, og det er ikke så nemt med børn. Hotellet ligger i gåafstand fra alt det hyggelige i Oslo. DFDS færgen København/Oslo ligger også i gåafstand, Jeg vil anbefale Thon Hotel Opera til alle, og vil meger gerne overnatte der igen. Venlig betjening - rent og pænt - dejligt værelse - overdådig og meget lækker morgenbuffet - i hjertet af Oslo lige overfor den smukke Opera - offentlig transport lige udenfor døren. Vi kommer gerne tilbage!

Vældig fint Og nyt hotel, alt levede op til mine forventninger, ganske fin morgenmads buffet. Ellers lige så kedelig som alle andre hotelier :)

Flot Hotel og godt placeret i forhold til centralbanestationen

Alletiders hotel, flot og god beliggenhed - høj standard - god service - rent - excellent morgenmad Ligger centralt for at opleve Oslo til fods og med offentlige transportmidler - tæt ved den smukke Opera - og Karl Johan og ikke lang til fods til spændende Aker Brygge - et hotel man gerne kommer tilbage til.

Jeg havde 4 dejlige overnatninger på hotel Opera. Dejligt stort værelse med badekar og flot udsigt. Centralt i forhold til Operaen og Karl Johan gade og færgen til København. Fantastisk morgenmad og frokost. Jeg var på kursus så jeg fik en del af hotellets mad, fantastisk kvalitet og et stort udvalg. Kan virkelig anbefale hotellet til andre og vil gerne […] komme igen. Da jeg efter en lang arbejdsdag kom tilbage til hotellet kl 17.30 søndag d. 9/5 var der stadig ikke gjort rent på værelset. Der blev tilbudt rengøring 17.45 hvor jeg havde brug for at hvile og ikke stå uden rom under rengøringen. Det er dårlig servise for et Thon konferensehotel (Thon Hotel Opera)

I was in Oslo for a quick solo business meeting and the Thon Hotel Opera was very convenient. Location is super close to the train station and walking distance to much of Oslo. I booked a 'small' hotel room, which has a twin bed rather than the spacious king. It is a good deal for a quick business trip, especially since Norway can be very expensive. […] It was actually quite cozy and better than some 'traditional' hotel rooms. This is a wonderful hotel located adjacent to the railway station and is by no means noisy. The breakfast room has a lovely view out to the Opera House and sea and the rooms are elegant and comfortable. In typical Norwegian style the rooms are fairly small but fine for a short stay. We asked for a family room for 4 people and got a room facing the opera with a balcony. It was a nice room. There was some noise from the street whih disapeared as we closed the window. The hotel is clean, comfortable and breakfast is very rich. A recommended hotel!

The hotel was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpfull. I would definately stay there again.

Quality hotel right opposite fabulous Opera House with views over water.

We were forced to book a suite since we were traveling with our daughter and their standard rooms only accommodate 2. The suite was cheaper than booking 2 rooms and we got a balcony with table and chairs to boot. We could see the Opera House and harbor beyond as we ate our carryout dinner. The location was convenient as it was near the bus station which […] is an easy way to get to and from the airport and near the train station which begins the "nutshell" fjord tour. This is a very nice 4-star hotel right next to the Oslo Central Station. Taking the express train from the airport and walking out of the station's south entrance, the hotel is right across the taxi lane with the gorgeous opera house looming behind it. The hotel itself is luxuriously appointed and a cut above most so called 4-star hotels. The staff […] was great, the room and public spaces fresh, attractive, and very clean. The hotel is very convenient, but we were initially given a room overlooking the station. This was noisy, but staff were very helpful in finding us a quieter room.

Excellent location. Less then a block away from train station. There is a train to airport ( 20 minute ride) and train from Bergen to Oslo as well as all other parts of Norway stop there. Go out South exit, cross street and you are at hotel. At night, the block from main street (Karl Johans Gate) to hotel can be dark and lonely. Walk through train station […] instead. The location is great. Just one minute from the train station. The closest to the train station and all public transportation. Great breakfast buffett. Nice accomodations.

Very nice hotel located right across from central station. Wonderful breakfast buffet and very helpful and friendly staff. The room was a bit small by American standards, but roomy enough for our luggage. I could hear the train station announcements during the day, but it didn't keep me up at night. Easy access to tourist sights, bus, tram, ferry boats, […] shops and restaurants. Hotel was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone. Excellent location for both air and train travellers. Staff are friendly, efficient with good manner. Comfortable room with adequate facility. Recommended for both business as well as pleasure.

I know that Norway is expensive but when things are expensive I expect them to be good. Dinner in the hotel was not very special, I would say the choice and quality were only mediocre. If you have time I suggest you go into the city to eat.

South of rail station (Oslo S) just beyond the taxis. Tourist Info, bus, tram, subway all in front of station and rail link to airport departs every 10 minutes from station. Very well managed hotel. Rooms good size with modern bathroom. We stayed twice and both times had excellent experiences. Excellent breakfast buffet - best we found in Norway.

. . . but rather expensive (Norway IS expensive). Breakfast was OK, but for the price of the room we expected more. Easy to use the inexpensive train to go to the airport (train station across the street) and be sure to explore the Opera House (across the street).

Like all Thon Conference hotels, the Thon Opera is nice by European standards, specifically that it is small, expensive, and offers limited service. Oslo Central Station is right next to the hotel, which is good and bad: The convenience of have access to the heart of Oslo's mass transit is wonderful, but announcements made for train departures are clearly […] audible in the room. They make announcements several times per hour at all hours of the night, so that got a little irritating, especially considering the price of the hotel. The breakfast they serve is among the best in Oslo hotels, and the view from the restaurant is nice as it overlooks the new Oslo Opera Hall. Overall, those used to Asian or American hotels should keep their expectations low as this hotel is not nearly as nice as a Westin, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, or Sheraton, but more like an expensive Marriott Courtyard with really small rooms. I'm delighted that I have chosen this hotel. It's very convenient, next to Central Railway Station, Sea port, Taxi center, Opera House view. More importantly, we can commu to the Oslo Airport simple and easy with Express Train. I will definitely come back to this hotel for my next trip to Oslo.

My friend and I stayed here two nights with a trip to Sweden in between. It was great. Location was perfect for travel by train. We had previously stayed closer to the center of the city. Hotel was centrally located to the boat terminal and the train station. It was also within walking distance of all the sites to see. Would highly recommend.

Terrific location in every respect. We upgraded to Superior Room with balcony overlooking the Opera. Excellent staff. Excllent breakfast buffet. Same for dinners. Great value! We would stay there again in a heart beat.

Hotel is close to the central station at the side of a main road - we were on the 9th floor and heard no noise either in or outside the hotel. Room is a little small, but comfortable. Great breakfast, staff friendly and accommodating

The Thon Hotel Opera was very nice. Its proximity to the Central Train Station was wonderful. The room was very nice. The breakfast was excellent. The wifi internet access was a bit awkward, more so than any hotel in which we stayed in Scandinavia. Like most hotels in Norway, I found it a bit pricey but not out of line in comparison with others.
