Beachcomber Beach Resort - St. Petersburg

I always enjoy staying here , staff is prompt the room has always been ready and clean.. And most of all the pool areas and tiki bar outback always entertaining !!

Roomy accommodations, kitchenette, good location on the beach all for a very reasonable amount. Jimmy B's Beach bar is located on site with music 7 nights a week...great place to relax.

too loud and no beach access other than public.... no hotel supplied ammenities. all day music is too much....

I stayed at St. Pete's about ten years ago when the kids were little and their was a lot of riff raff loitering around. They have cleaned it up and it was nice this time actually it was very very nice. Beachcomers was awesome!! The staff was so friendly, they are what made the stay so enjoyable! Thank you all so much. The kids and the other couples […] we were with also had a blast. Unfortunatly we only stayed for a few days until are other hotel was ready where we stayed for a week. I wished I had known that they cleaned the area up. Would have stayed at the Beachcomer the entire time. Will stay there again and will recommend it, it was awesome. Læs mere

the week before Easter and I had a reservation for Sat night. Checked out on Sunday but the seminar I was attending ran late so I was looking for a place to stay during Easter week ON St Pete Beach. Not only did the front desk find me a room but they gave me a suite for the same price as the single room I had the night before! Exemplary!!

Read all...it gets better: Upon initial drive up, I was very disappointed. It is a really a Motel, not a hotel. let's be clear. You dpark your cars along side the back of the uilding and are surrounded by concrete. hen I walked into the room, I found it to be a bit dated. The room was sufficient for the 3 women in my room. The place was clean, but nothing […] special. We head down to the beach, which is RIGHT THERE and rent a cabanna for about $18 for the day. I enjoyed that amenity. One of my FAVORITE things is the beach bar that has 2 lives bands throughout the late afternoon until 11:30. It IS the happening place on the whole strip. The food and drinks were acceptable-bar food. There are also 2 nice pool areas to enjoy as well. One of my MAJOR complaints was the lack of even offering a decent cup of coffee in the AM. They have 1 pot or reg coffee, suger, and powdered creamer. They should at the VERY least have Reg. Decaf, and hot water for tea and some real half/half. Otherwise you need to make your own coffee (Publix is right down the street) or buy it at the Seven-Eleven across the street. There are restaurants nearby, but no big names. Overall, pro's- nice location on the beach, the nightlife is there if you want it, the pool area is nice, the place has a kitchenette if you want to cook a little something, and the people were nice. Con's: No real restaurant besides the bar, on -site, it is not as updated as I would like or "wow"factor, the bar area can be loud at night, so if you have kids, request a room closer to the front desk. poor breakfast solutions, adequate, but not fantastic area restaurants to choose from. I WOULD go back, but it's a shock if you're expecting a "resort" from the name. However, if you can spend a little more and KNOW what you're getting is great, I would bite the bullet and pay the extra $. I give it 3.5 stars. Læs mere

Loved being right on the beach. There were 2 bars, one at each end of the hotel. We arrived very late at night with children, so seeing drunks all around was not a good first impression, but overall our stay was pleasant.

The location of the hotel is perfect. There are two pools on-site, with quick and easy access to the beautiful beach. It was convenient to have Jimmy B's on the property. We enjoyed mid-day breaks and evening cocktails there. Laid back crowd, good tunes and gorgeous views. The actual condition of the hotel was unimpressive and is in serious need of […] upgrading. It does not look like any renovations have been done to the rooms in a long time and the actual room was not clean which had an unwelcoming feeling. Staff were polite. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel on the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel. Very reasonably price, great location and very friendly staff, our room was cleaned everyday..

you pay for an ocean view but can't see the ocean the bar with band stays open until 3:00 AM so if you want to sleep not a good place

Although this was the perfect location for us (we were attending a wedding close by), don't let the marketing fool you into thinking this is anything other than a cheap party beach motel. While the beach bar was fun and had great atmosphere,the rooms were outdated and musty and the 'furnished outdoor area' means two plastic chairs on the sidewalk outside […] your door. Læs mere

The too was disgusting & rundown. The parking was screwy. We paid for an ocean view room and with being on the first floor, you had to stand on your tippy-toes to see the ocean. We wouldn't walk on the floors without shoes on. Yuck!!!

No compliants. Clean room with full kitchen on the beach at a great price. Why pay more.

The grounds were great, room was acceptable for the price, disappointed that to use the safe there was a charge as well as hotel computer. The beach bar was fun with both bands every night, food choices were not as floridian as I would have liked. My husband and I stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary. It was wonderful. The food at the sports bar was very good and reasonably priced, there was a nice boardwalk down to the water, the live music at the beach bar was a lot of fun, I could go on. Hotel was fun. We had a room that we paid extra for that faced the beach. We wanted the view. We were on the first floor and all we could see was a fence. Only the second floor rooms actually have a view of the beach. That was very disappointing.

The people were great and a lot of fun. Tiki bar really nice associates were great.

The so called beach room was smaller then the regular rooms the cost was not worth the room had a dog next door barking all night when no dogs were allowed. Management was told but did nothing about it

We had checked into a hotel in the downtown St. Petersburg area near the pier, but this was so much more what we were looking for. A real resort-like ambiance. Only complaints are the "nickel-diming" for additionals, i.e., use of computer one time fee (bring your laptop free wi-fi), key to safe daily fee, beach cabana daily fee, beach towels are low […] quality and small. I stay at the Beachcomber every time my family and I visit Florida. It is always a wonderful experience for us. Everything you need is close by and the beaches are beautiful and clean. I would recommend the Beachcomber to everyone.

Very friendly, efficient, helpful staff. Quick walk to the beach, beach is right off the property which is very convenient. A little bit of a snag with the parking because they are trying to keep it a private parking lot and it is a tight fit. Overall it was a great deal and a relaxing vacation.

We visited last year and had a pleasant stay. Our room this year was supposed to be an upgrade room, but the room we were in did not have a microwave in it. Couldn't warm your coffee after it got cold. What was the upgrade? Although our room was not an upgrade room, we did enjoy our stay and will stay again.

The hotel is in a nice location, and the common areas are well maintained. We decided to take the Beachfront room, expecting to get quiet and beautiful views. Unfortunately this is a 2 story building, with the room we were given on the first floor. All you can see from the room is the drunk people leaning against the fence that divides the hotel property […] from the outdoors bar in the way to the beach. To add perjury to injury, the A/C unit was very noisy, we could get hardly any sleep during the night. At least the A/C noise somehow masked the noise coming from the band and the drunkards at the bar. The room cleanliness was not the best, with a damp ambience, and worn out appliances. Not a bad place for a night if you can find a very cheap rate, or if you are looking to get wasted on the beach and all you need is a shower and a bed to crash. Not recommended for a family vacation. The hotel has a convenient location. We were able to do an early check in and enjoyed the beach and the pool. They called us when the room was ready. The room could used some upgrade. I will stay there again. The front desk staff is friendly.

the property is beautiful the room was overcrowded and dated - 2 large easy chairs and 2 double beds - had to move a stool out of the way to open the door the bathroom is dated the only way to get happy hour prices in the sports bar was to apply for a platinum card which would take 4 or 5 days to get there.........drinks were expensive $7+tax for a […] glass of Pinot the beach bar is great! we ate at an Irish pub across the street - good burgers - wine $5 a glass it made us happy that we live in Naples 2 1/2 hours away i doubt we'd ever go there again Læs mere

Our room was very clean and organize, and the staff couldn't be more energetic and friendly. If I have to complaint, I would do so about the drapes of the room. They could be shut completely, so light from the surrounding buildings were intrusive. However, this will not prevent me from staying there again. This hotel is great ! The swimming pool is nice and they have a great access to their private beach. It's the kind of hotel you can go for a week-end with your family or friends and just relax. Overnight is good to but no breakfast included in the cost of the room.

Groups from the beach patio lounge rowdy coming and going. Maintenance door next to wall from room. Door being slammed all nite. Had to call desk. View from balcony is a smoking bench. Gathering place for smokers. Undesireable. Will upgrade to another hotel down the beach. May come back to visit the lounge like the majority of your clienetele. This hotel was perfect for a quick girls weekend - it was clean and the staff was incredibly nice. There is plenty of room and I'll definitely stay there again if the price is right.

If we could give less than 1 star, we would! Our room was filthy and old! We had a shower that dribbled, blood on the comforter, boogers on the curtains, cable that did not work (only flipped), some unidentified goo on the wall right by the beds and the best surprise...used tp and "other bodily items" in the toilet upon arrival in our room. I called […] the front desk and they sent a "maintenance man" who said he had "lots of rooms to deal with" and that he might not be able to help us that night! The people next door yelled and screamed and banged on the walls..although that is not the hotel's fault. There is live music outside that thumps LOUDLY until 11:30 p.m., and we not even close to the bar or music. It was THAT loud. The walls are super thin and you can hear everything in the next room. They were very apologetic and ended up refunding our stay and we actually went to another hotel that night. I was shocked at the condition, especially given the competition in the neighborhood, We went to the "Postcard Inn" next door and were delighted! We recommend THEM! Never go to the Beachcomber! Even though we stayed just a couple of days, we loved it! Very comfortable room and kitchenette. Friendly personel. Excellent service at the bar. We enjoyed the bands that played those days. Will definitely come back!

The Beachcomber Hotel's staff was courteous and friendly. I would stay again. There's a bar conveniately located next to the hotel and the hotel grounds was well maintained. Best part is the hotel is so close to the beach.

We checked in, and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was, and how very comfortable the beds were. Only down side was that our room was right next to the motorcycle parking area. Other than that it was perfectly tolerable.

My husband and I have been staying at the Beachcomber for years. Great location-right on the beach! They have beautiful courtyard and the pools are a great alternative if you want to get off the sand. Loved the hotel. Stayed 2 nights on wednesday and thursday, decided to stay another night, but it was a friday and the price was as much as the 2 nights put together, so we found another. Enjoyed our stay otherwise. great vacation spot

pros--nice beach location. we liked the beach bar next door, delicious clam chowder there. Very pleasant and helpful receptionists. Close to everything in St Pete Beach. cons--noisy beach bar. Take a room near the lobby if you don't like loud music. Crummy bath towels. Overall a fine place to stay by the beach, with a very helpful staff.

Decent hotel in a good location. Pools were in good shape, two decent bars, only problem was the AC in our room was not adequate. The window unit seemed to blow cold but never cooled the room off.
