The hotel is huge. It truly is a "village". It has it's own transportation, a boat and train. Which is a good thing since it's so huge. It'll take you 15 minutes to walk from your room to the parking lot. This hotel is in it to nickle and dime you. Your room rate includes just that, the room. Parking is extra. They are stingy about small things like […] how many coffee pods you are allowed per day (2). There was a mini fridge, no microwave (which they would give me for a 1-time fee). In the rooms with 2 beds, the whole hotel only has full-size beds. The pools are what you come for, or maybe the dolphins, but the pools have slides. And there's the Lagoon beach that's pretty much the best. Easy (SUPER EASY) snorkeling with fish, eels and turtles. Rent a paddle boat if you have kids. Læs mere
"Excellent"
Beautiful hotel. A little far from the airport (and shuttle service was a little expensive-a little over $100 r/t) but still a great stay; and you really don't have to leave the hotel if you don't want to, which makes it a great place to stay if you just want to relax and vacation. Only other slight problem is that it is far from all the attractions. […] The attractions ( volcanoes, black sand beaches, etc) are generally on the other side of the island, a couple of hours away. I love this hotel, eventhough they charge you for internet access in your room.. almost all of the hotels ive stayed at has free internet. You need to pay for parking too..Valet is kinda expensive! one thing i noticed though, they knew there were going to be 2 adults and 2 kids in the room and they only had 3 towels, ok no beach towels in the room too.. […] they forgot to have a do not disturb sign too.. the hotel is great great pools, breakfast buffet was ok. proce was ok. not a lot of choices really... anyway i love the tram. the pools the scenery... love love love Læs mere
"Hilton Waikoloa Village"
Enjoyed our stay tremendously. Only room for improvement would be to heat the 3-4 pools on the property. The water temperature was a bit on the cool side, probably not an issue if vacationing in the warmer summer months (we were there in early March) . Everything else was fantastic, best hotel on the Kohala coast.
"Great place for families"
Ok, really. Just pony up and stay here. This place is GORGEOUS. The grounds, the multiple pools, the slides, the waterfalls into the pool - where else can you snorkel in a protected lagoon with sea turtles and have lunch next to dolphins? The kids loved it - so much to do, outdoor checkers, boats and a little train that goes around. There is art everywhere […] and families and beautiful sunsets. There is a gorgeous beach right nearby with a free shuttle. The food at the cantina was good and not too spendy and the burgers at the Lagoon grill were actually juicy and good - not what we expected at a hotel! And the service was amazing. We had two problems - they were fixed without incident, within 1/2 hour, without any effort on our part (a fridge that did not work, the ice cream machine was down). I recommend getting the Ohana Fun Pass if you plan to do much around the place - it covers parking, ice cream daily, free access to the spa, 1/2 off kids programs, a free round of family golf per day, etc., for much less than those things would cost. I would definitely come here again. Yeah, the birds are loud, but you really can't hear them in your room and it is kind of funny. Yeah, the place is big but you don't really feel it - it isn't that hard to walk from one end to the other and the boats and train make it easy. Yeah, sometimes you have to wait for a boat or train - but shouldn't you be relaxing and just kicking back anyway, so what's the rush? Most times we got a train or boat within 5 minutes. Yeah, it is a little bit away from stuff, like the volcanos and etc, but you can make the drive in a day and the volcanos are not really flowing anyway. Yeah, the coffee bars are expensive and the coffee there sucks - but there is coffee in the room, a starbucks nearby, etc. If you don't like this place, I don't know that you would be happy anywhere, frankly. I think I've ruined our kids for normal places now, actually, that don't have lagoon pools and waterslides and waterfal Læs mere

"$100M+ beautiful grounds to see + Hilton"
Take your standard Hilton experience and add hundreds of millions worth of stunning landscaping. For the pleasure you will pay $$$ for all the extras on top of the room rate.

"Hilton Waikoloa Village"
Great resort with tons of activities available. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
"Beautiful Compound"
This hotel is beautiful, no doubt about it. The views are amazing and the grounds are incredible. It's also very expensive. They tend to nickel and dime you, so just know that going in. It's also a huge place. From our hotel room, it was about a 25 minute trip to our car (for which they charged us $15 per day to park, non-valet). If you are going to […] spend a lot of time at the resort and cost is no object, then this is a good place. Læs mere

the hotel is surprising big, there are many activities for children, especially suitable for familiy with children. My son was so enjoyed with the dolphin perforamance, swimming, sand, even the mini train and boat. If we go next time to Hawaii, we wil stay just in this hotel for all vation.

"Beautiful but pricey with inconsistent service"
First of all the hotel is just gorgeous!! The rooms were large but the bed was too soft for us so we got housekeeping and they provided us a board to put underneath the mattress which helped. The main problem was the high cost of the food at the resort. It was way overpriced for the quality of the food. The only restaurant that was worth the price and […] the view was the KPC restaurant which is located right on the beach. My suggestion is that you should rent a car to get food off of the resort. We went to the deli at Safeway and got some meat, cheese, mayo, and bread ad made our own sandwiches since the room had a refrigerator. We also got sodas, water, and alcohol where you can buy at Safeway, Walmart, Target, etc in Hawaii. We only spent money on dinners at the resort. Breakfast was 25 dollars a person so we drove to the Queens marketplace and went to Starbucks. If you don't have a car you are pretty much trapped at the resort and parking is 15 dollars a day if you self park which is a long walk, 21 dollars a day for valet service, and is free is you have a handicapped placard so don't forget to pack it if you hae one. We ran into some wonderful hrlpful people at the hotel such as Mike who brought our bags to the room. however, there were also some rude and not very helpful people we ran into working at the resort as well. The pools and the ocean fed lagoon were fantastic. The views and beauty of the resort were amazing. you do have to walk a lot but we got used to it. Even though there were trams and boats to take us from place to place, we rarely used them because they never seemed to be around when we needed them. I als highly recommend getting a room in the Lagoon tower as that s where all the action is as it s close t the dolphins, Lagoon pool, the ocean fed lagoon, and is a simple short walk to the main lobby. We had a 5th floor Lagoon tower room that looked out over the parking lot. The clerk told us the view would not be good and encoursged us to upgrade but Læs mere

Excellent facilities. Really enjoyed holiday.
"A night at the Hilton"
I enjoy staying at Hilton, but the only thing that should be done at that resort is the pool area should have some type of grip while walking around the entire pool area, especially over the bridge and the stairs areas. Even walking carefully knowing that it's wet, my family and I still had little slip accidents, and I know that it happens to other […] guest that stay there. That's the only concern I had about staying at the resort. Læs mere
"HUGE Facility"
This is a very large property and the services are spread out through out the property. Service for all things is very slow so expect to wait a long time for your drink! This facility is really geared toward children. There is an adult pool however there are no services at the pool and the pool is not heated. If you have children it has great facilities […] that would be of interest. Food quality was always good and prices ranged from pretty average to pretty expensive, however it is your choice. High end shopping is close by with a couple of strip malls and is within walking distance of the Hotel. Læs mere

"Good family resort"
The room was clean and in general the resort is well maintained. It is a sprawling resort and the room towers are spread around the property. There is a boat and tram that provide shuttle service among the various resort areas; however it seems faster to walk. The resort seemed Disney-ish and family oriented, so I would not suggest it as a couples […] destination. Læs mere
"Hilton Waikoloa Village"
Wonderful hotel with magnificent view of the ocean. It is also surrounded by lush gardens and has a lagoon where you can swim and encounter sea turtles and cute fishes. There is also a dolphin training center as well as multiple pools with slides. You won't get bored at this resort.
The impression left is similar to Disneyland without all the rides. However, the location on the waterfront was unsurpassed. My daughter had her wedding there afew days ago. An excellent location.

"HILTON WAIKOLOA"
Unquestionably one of the most elegant and beautiful hotels I have ever experienced. The staff are friendly, respectful and courteous, the event planners fastidious and historical pieces on display are simply extraordinary. I found the food prices to be high - especially breakfast. Great place for a honeymoon or a convention - definitely not a place […] for singles. Læs mere
"Great hotel but they were renovating"
Unfortunately, during our stay, the hotel was renovating their lobby entry way to the water pools and their gondolas were out of service. We intentionally booked the hotel since we visited Hawaii last time and thought our kids would love being on the gondolas. Minus that, the hotel is a great place to stay and has all the activities necessary for kids […] since the location around it isn't very scenic. The hotel grounds are beautiful (minus the renovations) but the surrounding area is mainly just dry vegetation and lava rock. Læs mere

Beautiful and inspiring views from every direction. Wonderful staff. Problem is it is too spread out. Getting to the parking lot to your room is hike or from one place to the other. "Hilton Waikoloa"
The hotel grounds are amazing. The room is more than satisfactory except I'd have opted for the Ocean Tower if I'd have known better. Never ate at the hotel restaurants but they looked great and not priced much higher than other local, more distant places. I'm getting used to the towel card but I'm not sure it makes it any better. Loved the grill down […] by the Dolphin Quest center but the tram is slow with long intervals between towers and the boats are even slower. The self parking is only a money maker with nothing good to be said about it but the facility in general is ungodly immaculate. A view off the veranda overlooking the golf course isn't so desirable but it's a great pit stop. Læs mere
"Most beautiful resort in the world!"
Loved this resort! Everywhere you look it's beautiful! Be sure to get to all three pools and the lagoon. Food is pricey but the Queens Shops area is within 2 miles and has places to eat. It also has a Market that has deli and other food to bring back to the refrigerator in your room. Be prepared to walk a lot at the resort. The tram is convenient but […] there's still a lot of walking....not hard walking.....and enjoyable art displays along the way. Friendly service and nice rooms. Læs mere

"Nice hotel - but make sure you look around"
Systems were down during check-in and they had only 1 person there at 3:00pm. Very long walk to anywhere in the hotel, especially rooms, so be ready for plenty of exercise. The boat/tram is a novelty at first, but you can walk faster. Overall, okay stay, but not sure it's worth the price.
"HILTON Waikaloa Village"
GREAT HOTEL. This is a fantastic property, you will love it. Best pool I have ever experienced. The beach is a short walk from the hotel and is just OK. Mostly lava rock covered with imported sand. "Hilton Waikaloa Village"
Excellent property. The best pool I have seen. The property has three large units. We stayed at the Lagoon Tower and overlooked the Dolphin Experience pool. Excellent view and very entertaining watching the dolphins. If you like Japanese food you must try the Amari restaurant located on the property. I would have liked to have a microwave in the room. […] We took leftovers back to the room and stored in the small fridge and had no way to reheat leftovers later. It was a great place to relax. There were plenty of families and kids were well behaved and having loads of fun at the large pool (There are at least 4 pools on the property). I had a wonderful time at the Hilton Waikoloa. "Fantasy Destination"
Not the place to go if you want to see the real Hawaii. Due to the distances to get across the property, makes it difficult to get out to see the sites. However, a good place to go if you want a fantasy experience. Think of it as a destination hotel, and you won't be disappointed. The hotel is really 3 hotels plus a convention area that all share […] the same check in lobby. In some ways, it is similar to a Disney hotel at a theme park (internal transportation, pools with slides, tunnels underneath for workers to move supplies and luggage around, shopping and multiple dining places). The Kona pool has a nice slide, the Kohala pool (next to the Ocean Tower) is best suited for the little ones, the slide is short. So if you are after the largest pool with the longest slide, try to stay in the lagoon tower. Læs mere
"Excellent Resort!"
The room & the surroundings was beautiful! Excellent service! The Kirin restaurant on site was quite delicious! The Spa was delightful & extremely relaxing! (I had the Lomi Lomi Massage) I only wish I had known this earlier! I would have tried to stay additional nights!
"Hilton Waikoloa Village"
Overall a very good hotel if you are travelling with a family. Many things to do if you are into just hanging out at a resort. There are many other sites and beaches to see nearby. The people are great. The only complaint I have is the food. The resort is very big so you get stuck many times eating at the resort and I found the food expensive and really […] not that great. "The Big Island is a MUST!"
We spent half of our time on the Big Island at this hotel. Our ocean view room in Ocean Tower was clean, spacious and near the adult only pool. The staff was extremely friendly and openly offered late checkout and hospitality rooms upon check in. We wish that we'd had additional time here to play in the pools and with the dolphins, but were trying […] to see as much of the island as possible. If you're the beachy, resorty aspect of Waikiki, go to Waikoloa instead! The beaches and Hilton are much nicer at Waikoloa than Waikiki! I have only two complaints about the Hilton Waikoloa Village: first, they need additional vegetarian and Hawaiian options on the restaurant menus; second, the adult only pool hours are 10 am to 5 pm. Bottom line: I definitely recommend staying here! Læs mere
"Awesome experience"

"The Hilton in Waikoloa Village is spread out."
Our visit at this hotel was very nice. Grounds and pools are nice, but bring your walking shoes. This resort is large and spread out. Tram and boats are slow in transporting. We had to walk a distance to our room. It was quicker to walk than wait for transportation. Food was good but not cheap. Would go back again.
"Bring your walking shoes"
Booked an "Ocean View" room, could only see the ocean if you stood on the small balcony and peered around the corner! The bathroom was TINY and in horrid condition (step in tub/shower). I think the worst however is the general layout of the place. If they put you in the Ocean Towers you will be far, far, far away from everything! The tram is VERY SLOW. […] They have placed lots of art around in an attempt to take your mind off the long walk to your room. Overall, pretty sad place. Would ONLY go here if I had lots of kids...but not a good place to make one! Læs mere
"Something for everyone"
We loved our stay at this hotel. The kids enjoyed riding the boats and waterslides and the adults loved the extensive collection of art that lined the hotel halls. There was really something for everyone to enjoy.
"Hilton Waikoloa - great resort!!"
Unbelievable vacation spot. If you are traveling to the Big Island, do yourself a favor, stay at the Hilton, even if it means you have to spend a little more on lodging. You won't regret it!!
"Great hotel!"
Okay, this hotel is HUGE. It takes awhile to get to your room or other parts of the hotel, but the tram or boat make it fun. They run regularly (most of the day, every 5 to 10 minutes) so it's never a problem to catch one. The room we got was VERY spacious - walk in closet, nice view, small fridge, everything we needed and quiet. Yes, the birds are […] REALLY noisy at dawn and dusk, but we didn't notice them too much if we kept our door closed. The food on site is fine but most of the restaurants are fairly expensive. The one that is poolside, is not too bad and has a decent selection. We bought a lot of our food from the grocery store up the street. The sushi there is really good (better than at the hotel) and reasonably priced...although a gallon a milk will set you back about $7. The rest of the take and go meals at the grocery store are also very good and reasonably priced. I really had no problems with the hotel. I attended the sales presentation so I could get the $100 and discounts at the local attractions and got somewhat of a hard sell - more of a guilt trip for not buying, but still worth attending for the discounts. My kids, 4 and 7, also had a great time. Overall, really liked this hotel. Good location and lots to do right on site. Læs mere

"Hilton Waikaloa"
Overall the hotel is nice in terms of amenities and atmosphere. I had two big issues with it though. The first being the layout, this is a large resort and the design is linear. Meaning the front desk and the farthest rooms are very far away. So far away that they have a tram and a canal to get you to your room. Like I said it's nice but inconvenient […] if you forget anything in your car. The second is the food cost. I had a glorified continental breakfast that cost me $42!! Fruit, eggs, yogurt and one glass of OJ- $42. My other experience was ordering room service. I ordered a checken breast dinner with rice, a coke and a peice of pie- $58 Bottom line- the place is nice but dont forget anything in your car and bring your own food. Læs mere
