"Hotel in Winter Park"
I spent my birthday in Winter Park skiing with my daughter. We had stayed at your hotel before, but this time the front counter lady was very rude, unlike the rest of the staff. the ski shop did a minor repair to one of boots and that was great but if I could avoid having to talk to the afternoon or evening staff I would be better off.
"Hotel or Dog Kennel?"
This place is like a pet kennel, LITERALLY. We were placed on the first floor (apparently the dog floor) and heard loud non-stop barking all night long through the paper thin room walls. "Great Place to Stay!"
The Mountain Lodge staff was friendly and helpful. Transportation to the ski hill was incredibly convenient and quick. Our only complaints would be the small bathroom and limited & expensive menu in the restaurant. However, those details will not prevent us from picking the Mountain Lodge for our next trip to Winter Park.

"Winter Park Mountain Lodge, a Quiet skiers hotel"
We very much liked indoor parking. We did not like TV selection-- CNN only. We did not like consumable supplies -- The cups collapse in your hands and they give you only 2 per night. The toilet tissue melts in your hand, too. The restaurant tries too hard to be gourmet, and ends up just expensive for quality of food.

The location is perfect for those who have a car and want to save money from staying in the village..its directly across the highway from parking and the Cabriolet....Friendly service and great local brews in the pub...There also is a shuttle that comes on occasion for those with out cars. Nice ammenities for the price!
"My Experience"
They couldn't find our reservation so it took a long time to get us checked in. Then the second night of our stay, our room cards would not work in our door so we went to the front desk and the only person there was in the back room on the phone for a LONG time and would not come out to fix the problem. She did not tell us "I'll be with you in a few […] minutes" or apologize for the wait, it was inconvenient and rude. The stay was expensive, the hotel was run down, the food was expensive and awful. "Not what you think"
The beds were horrible and the room temp was fluctuating all night. We could not get it to stabilize. The pool was out of commission and the hotel did not mention it at the time of booking even though they knew it. I would not stay here again.
"Disappointed with Winter Park Mountain Lodge"
Shocked that the pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance over Christmas weekend. Were really looking forward to using them. Felt like we deserved a discount on the room because of it. Very loud fog horn-like sounds coming from the ceiling in our room every hour. Very annoying. Maintenance person came to the room but it wouldn't sound while he was […] there. Might've been some problem with the pipes. The room was decent and clean enough but felt there should've been a microwave & frig. for the room rate we paid. Continental breakfast was a significant charge. You had to be "on the list" in order to eat there, meaning you indicated on check-in that you wanted to be charged for the breakfast. We stayed there for only one night. it was a quick getaway. i liked the location, the room was clean and bed was super comfy, bathroom was tiny, but it got the job done :), the restaurant and brewery were convienant and food was good. Hotel was under maintenance, but didn't make it obvious. Good workers and nice rooms. Great for the price, and worth doing. Would be nice to be on the same side of the highway as the resort but you can still walk over.

Very pretty hotel from the outside. Small clean, ugly room. Itchy sheets, difficult to keep room too hot/too cold with window unit. Doing renovation so fairly noisy throughout stay. Sauna and pool were very nice. You pay for what you get.

"Winter Park Mountain Lodge - good location"
For a property in such a prime location, we didn't find it to be well kept. The hotel served our basic needs, however it was in need of several repairs. For starters, the rear door for bringing in luggage had absolutely no security. Also, our room door was damaged as well. Many things throughout the hotel looked as though they needed to be fixed. "Not 16 miles from Black Hawk"
This hotel is NOT 16 miles from Black Hawk it was more like 50 miles. The Rocky Mts are between them with a Mt pass with nine switch backs. It was snowing so we did not want to drive back and forth as we had planned. Please let people know this is not next to Black Hawk! We stayed at this lodge on 10-1-11. The room was cozy and comfortable with a great view of the mountains. I'm a light sleeper but I slept like a baby. We stayed during an slow time, so not many other guests. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean. Some of the rooms were being refurbished, and I assume ours was on the list as well as there were a few small maintenance items. A little far out of town. Very nice surroundings the view was wonderful. Hotel needs a little over all work done. The pool area is dark and a little scary and depressing. The carpet in our room was very worn in front of the bathroom and if you did not step out far enough you stepped on the tack strip and got tacked in the foot. I was grossed out when I walked into the hotel lobby and then again when I stepped into the rooms! I felt like I needed to sanitize everything and be sure not to touch anything! Great location, friendly staff. The rooms were older and bed was uncomfortable. The price was a little higher than what it was worth but overall it was clean and the staff made up for the insufficiencies.
We were right across the interstate from the Winter Park resort. Older hotel but clean and offered us what we needed. We would definitely stay there again. The restraurant staff was really friendly and provided great service.

We had read some bad reviews on this hotel. But because the price was right we went ahead and tried it. We loved it. Yes, it's not a newly remodeled hotel, but our rooms were clean, the staff was VERY friendly and we had beautiful views.
Check in was a snap. . . Just a very nice place to stay!
The reason we went to Winter Park was for a music fest in town. The hotel was a few miles out of town and the only way you could get there was to drive. There weren't any shuttles or public transit to town. However it would be great in the winter as it's right across the highway from Winter Park ski resort.

My wife, puppy and I were very satisfied with our stay. The location is directly accross from winter park, the view is good as well. For the money, we were very happy. It would be easy to find a more modern and luxerious place in winter park, but be prepared to pay double. My only complaint was loud people in the halls from 11pm until 1am.

For the price, you could not really ask for more out of a hotel across the street from the bike/ski lifts. The staff was friendly and courteous and the hotel was clean. Hotel was very run down, needs alot of repair and upgrades. Pool and hot tub water was very cloudy, we were told it is cleaned every day. I find that hard to believe. The restaurant was not open, we were not advised of this when reserving. When we checked out we were told it was only opened on weekends. We had a great short stay in Winter Park at the Mountain Lodge. It was close to downtown Winter Park. The scenery was beautiful and so was the weather. "Nice hotel but access to WP not great"
This is a nice older hotel. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Room and common areas were clean. Some of the details outside needed attention but nothing dangerous. Breakfast was good. There was only one waitress but she hustled around so it appeared nobody had to wait long. Coffee wasn't good, but the pancakes and bacon were great. On a map the […] location seems perfect, just across the Hwy from WinterPark village, however when you're there the distance seems like miles. There's no way to get from the hotel to the WP village on foot. You have to drive, which is a bummer after being seeminly so close. A gondola, bridge or tunnel would be a great addition. Note to pet owners, the first floor is the pet floor, so if there's a barking dog they all bark, kind of like a kennel. That said, all in all it was a great place to stay if you're on a budget. "WP Mountain Lodge-Nice Location-Rooms Need Repair"
The location is great as it is right off of Hwy 40 and across from the ski resort. The service was good! The room was in need of repairs. It was a bit worn and beat-up. If you are looking for a place to stay and don't plan to be in the room too much this could be a good location for you.

The hotel was close to the ski area. The room was comfortable. The carpeting in the room was worn. The room service was very good...room clean upon return from slopes. Bar on second floor was good...very good service. I would stay there again.

Nice place to stay. Pictures deceiving, thought it was closer to the mountain village than it was, but the shuttle to the lift was excellent. Jacuzzi not working when we went to enjoy it. Didn't try again after complaint acknowledged.
