overall pretty good food quality has to go up a bit from past years being there. bar service at beach almost non existent after local mexicans leave on weekend. staff is great. it is a bit pricey for what you are receiving in return. not 1 time do they offer shrimp and or lobster as a dinner which would be appreciated without a cost.

Nice friendly staff - food was average with most catered toward Mexican dishes - High % of Mexican Nationals staying at the hotel - Americans and canadians were a small % of the customers . Graet weather and super sandy / clean beaches but for those who like to be in the ocean probably not for everyone due to large waves .

Our first time in Ixtapa!! We had a great time at the Presidente! We stayed in the tower the first few days. It was a nice size room but a little older. Could use some updating. But very clean and quiet and had an excellent balcony with a fabulous ocean view. On the 2nd half of our stay we were in a pool side room. It was smaller but very NICE! The […] all inclusive was good with a large variety of food. The waite staff was always friendly and helpful. They really took good care of you! I liked the special dinner nights. Italian, French and Sushi dinner nights. Our Favorite was the French cuisine. They also had a Mexican party night that everyone enjoyed. Mexican food and entertainment! The drinks around the pool were abundant and made with just the right amount of alcohol. The best part of our vacation were all the fun people we met staying at the hotel. They were from all over the country. Some were people from our own area. It felt like a big party of friends every day. Everyone was so friendly and outgoing and there to have a good time.!!! All in all we enjoyed our stay and will be going back to the Presidente. We felt very safe in the Ixtapa area. Loved how convenient all the shopping and restaurants were. The all inclusive was great, but you may want to eat dinner somewhere else. Breakfast and lunch were fine, but dinner was not quality. Hotel has seen better days and although you can see it gets regular upkeep it feels more like a Holiday Inn rather than an Intercontinental. Good service but this has more to do with the general Mexican culture which is service oriented. Great beach with big waves :)

awesome stay, very helpful people, food excelent, overall very clean. We got lucky to be there at FIESTA MEXICANA, is like you are all states in Mexico not only with souveniers but the real mexican antojitos and of course with folkloric mexican dances and others. Beautiful

Although we have been to Ixtapa many times, this was our first stay at the Presidente. The hotel staff was so nice and very welcoming. The location is great for shopping and dining out. Our garden view room was adequate, but an upgrade to ocean view would be worth it. The food was okay, but limited in choice. The staff overall were very friendly and helpful.The concierge Jorge went out of his way to be helpful.The pools were great and the activities offered were fun. The waiters at the pool were great as well. We did have to ask for a different room on check in as the room we were assigned was in the basement and smelled a lot like mildew. No problem moving […] though. The food was average but on a few occasions very good (the Sushi bar and the evening with the French food and Stir Fry). On the weekends it gets way busy with locals but during the week it is quiet which means limited restaurant availability. The staff is amazing! From the front desk, concierge, restaurants, pool bar, entertainment, room service. They attended to our every need. Carlos at the pool, Victor at the bar and Carmen in the lounge all took excellent care of us. We always make sure to bring tip money because the staff truly deserves it! This is our 5th stay at Intercontinental in […] Ixtapa since 2010. It is an older hotel but reminds me of a lot of Hawaii in the 80's. We have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts that charge extra fees for room service. This hotel does not. Our favorites on the room service menu are chicken fajitas, stuffed avocado and nachos. Upgrade to an oceanfront room...it is well worth it. The food in the restaurants is authentic Mexican food and very delicious. The director of activities, Huber is awesome as well as Hugo! They have volleyball, aqua fit classes daily, also nightly activities (karaoke, casino night, dancing, fiesta). For outside activities I highly recommend the Delfiniti Dolphin experience which you can book right at the hotel. You actually get to swim and interact with the dolphins unlike Seaworld which is basically a photo op. If you are looking for free things to do you can walk to the end of the bay and see stingrays congregate by the rocks. There is also a bridge you can walk across toward the gondolas by the Pacifica Resort where there is a river mouth with crocodiles which are fed at 3pm daily. under no circumstances allow them to put you in the tower rooms! - they are old and have not been reno'd since built in the mid 70's - the glass elevators are extremely scary - tape holds the button panel on and you can see daylight through the cracks between the elevator and the building - the villa rooms (which are less expensive if you can believe […] it) are way nicer - low rise, recently updated, just very nice rooms It is like it is two different hotels - I would not stay at this hotel again if I had to stay in the tower - actually you could not pay me to stay in the tower - I would stay again if guaranteed a room in the villas It was extremely busy over New Years when we stayed but you really never had to wait for anything - service was great despite the fact that very little english is spoken by the staff - actually this was without a doubt of the 15 or 20 all inclusives I have stayed at the first time it was really beneficial to speak a little spanish - if you speak no spanish you will get by but you will have to practice some charades - and I am not just talking about the maids I am talking about most of the hostesses seating you for meals, bartenders etc . Now this may have been because probably 90% of the guests spoke spanish - which also may explain why the food was so geared towards Mexican tastes - this may be different at other times of year but while we were there you had to like Mexican food - you could never find just a sandwich Læs mere

The hotel was in good repair, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the food was good. We had lots of choices about what to eat and the location was also quite good. The guests were mainly families from other parts of Mexico who were spending their holidays in Ixtapa and most guests and some hotel staff spoke only Spanish. Being Caucasians and not Spanish-speaking, we were overwhelmed by the fact that at least 90% of the tourists were locals, i.e., Mexicans, which left us alienated as we had expected a more US/Canadian tourist crowd. Our first room (1809) with ocean view was in disarray with the shower and sink out of order as well as one elevator that made getting to/from […] room a chore (the elevator was repaired only some days later). We asked for and received a transfer to a ground level room (3117) with garden view that we good, shower superb, sink also. We didn't miss the ocean view. The beach, beach amenities, beverage and food services, towel service, maid service were fabulous. We just had trouble with room service (ordered food that never came). The staff were wonderful and accomodating. Micaela was nice enough to upgrade our room to a much better one at a reasonable price. The location of the hotel is not "near the beach" as listed in Expedia, it is actually on the beach and is beautiful. My 13 year old son loved the different activities, specially the beach volleyball was a big hit with the […] boys. The staff tried to provide our every need and even remembered our favorite drinks. The food could use a little more variety and help in the quality department. The quantity was never low but it could be of better quality. Our favorites were the breakfast and the salads at lunch and dinner time. Our main complaint is about the beds that break your back every time you try to get comfortable. The hotel customers are mainly of Mexican origins and therefore the evenings are loud and full of squealing children and noisey adults. my family and i traveled to intercontinental presidente all inclusive resort this was a great hotel the staff was friendly and at our service.. we were disappointed the fact that there were no entertainment at night..the food was great as breakfast and lunch was buffet yet nothing special served..at dinner it was only a carte which it was fine yet we […] would had preffered more options since it was only italian on monday and tuesday it was french.. i did hear the mexican fiesta given each saturday was a must see..sad we couldnt stay that long. the towel service was great i wished it could be available longer not till 7:30 Læs mere

I am looking forward to go back to Ixtapa Intercontinental Presidente. The service and the food was good. The grill night on the beach was awesome. Pésima. El hotel no esta a la altura de un intercontinental. Sumamente deteriorado, viejo y muy sucio (incluyendo las tres habitaciones que tenía reservadas que eran supuestamente de "categoría superior". Fue una experiencia lamentable excepto por el hecho de que al decidir no hospedarme me reembolsaron mi dinero al 100% solo sobre este punto se portaron […] a la altura de las circunstancias. unicamente que nos reservamos hotel con vista al mar y cama king size, y nos enviaron a una hab. con vista parcial al mar y a una habvitacion mas pequeña porque la torre no cuenta con camas king. y en una ocacion el cuarto lo asearon hasta las 4.00 pm.un solo restaurant abierto por la poca demanda, pero en si todo bien.

muy mal con este hotel, pague muy caro y me dieron una habitación con vista al basurero, había gente en la alberca con camisetas, con pañales, gente con botellas de vino tomando en la alberca! This hotel is quite old and not well manteined. The food is not bad but the variety is more than limited... I would not go back to this hotel... El hotel es bastante viejo y no tiene el mantenimiento adecuado. La comida no esta mal pero la variedad es muy limitada por lo que es muy repetitivo... No regresaria a este hotel ni lo recomendaria...
