If you are going to a Holiday Inn expecting to be wined and dined then you are going in with the wrong attitude. Yes, the decor could use updating. Yes, the elevators are very slow. Hotel was modern/updated. Nice decor, beds comfy. Room service was great, girls at the counter very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
"Wonderful warm hotel staff"
We were treated with such warmth by the staff that they felt like friends. We were in Pittsburgh to meet with a realtor who is helping us relocate to the area and the hotel staff had wonderful advice and opinions. The hotel is your classic holiday inn. Despite being only 7 miles from downtown, it isn't that easy to get there. Also, it is on a hill.....the switchback driveway was plowed for us in the snow but I would have felt more comfortable in an SUV rather than compact car I had rented. Had an enjoyable stay here. Quick Check In and Out! Friendly staff. Free Parking and access to our vehicle is better than Valet Parking. Our room was comfortable and clean. I recommend this hotel. Great hotel and location. Carpeting was wet under and around the air and heating unit. For the price per night they should give you some type of breakfast. Instead they offer breakfast at their restaraunt, which no one goes to. They have coffee and apples out for their guest.

Came from Ontario for the 2011 Steelers home opener. Hotel as expected for price/star rating. Would go again.

Although I booked with breakfast, it was not free instead I was given a$ 20 to use towards breakfast andit would have been cheaper to eat outside. There are at leazt 5 places with cheap breakfastaround. THE HOTEL STUFF IS GREAT AND ACCOMIDATING , but the room was small wiyh the bad pluming. For the money paid i expected better.
"Steeler's Pre-Game"
We stayed at this hotel for a Steeler's Pre-Game. It was so easy to get in/out of the city! The receptionist, Maggie, was super helpful and gave us some great tips! The hotel is a little hard to find, luckily we looked it up on Google Earth and we were able to find it easily since we knew where we were going! Overall it was a great place to stay.

No special bells and whistles but this hotel met our expectations. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the location close to our family. The hotel is near a large grocery and the fridge in the room allowed us to have breakfast and lunch on the go. "Nice Hotel in a Nice Area"
The hotel is relatively easy to find (behind a McDonalds on a large hill), and is surrounded by many nice plazas (plus the large Ross Park Mall). The staff were very helpful and kind. "NO Shuttle Service to Downtown"
My brother and I stayed at the hotel to attend the NRA Freedom Experience last weekend. It would have been a plus if the hotel had a shuttle service to the NRA event in downtown convention center. Almost everyone at the hotel I spoke to was attending the event at the NRA. They all thought the hotel missed the boat not haveing transportation available […] for the event. In the end we were able to secure a taxi every day but the cost was steep. However, I was told parking in the city was a nightmare and wasn't inexpensive either. Went there for the weekend to do some gambling. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly.The heater was a little loud, but how fast the room warmed up compensated. "Nice for the price with minor exceptions"
Overall, the hotel and room were nice. Only complaints were that the inside of the bathroom door was pretty beaten up, the carpet felt a little greasy when walking around in bare feet, and the heater turned on and off in about 1 minute intervals. Having the heater start up about every 60 seconds, then stop after 60 seconds, then start again throughout […] the night made for a less than ideal sleeping environment. We had a wonderful time as we celebrated New Year's evening and New Year's day. We took a short trip to see the lights @Hartwood Acres. We were also celebrating my fiances birthday on Dec 31st. We will recommend this hotel to others.

Its a nice hotel at a nice price. It is a little difficult to find, as the entrance is behind a McDonalds. The room was clean and fairly comfortable, but the bed was very, very firm.

The hotel wasn't the most luxurious, but clean and comfortable. The price was right, too. The hotel staff was very nice ...always friendly and helpful. The hotel restuarant wasn't so great, with all the choices around, go out to eat. It was close to food, shopping, etc. I would definitly stay here again.

The hotel has only been partially updated. Rooms were relatively clean, but the AC unit sounded like you were sleeping under the jet's engine. Also, the Hilltop Restaurant's chairs were absolutely filthy. They were cloth and stained from handling and everything else.

I felt like this hotel is way too old and outdated, my room was in a weird corner right next to the vending and ice machines, the whole thing was not a great experience.

I loved this hotel. I was able to check my e-mails and book a tour of Pittsburgh for free on their computers and printer at the hotel. It is very close to shopping of all price levels and any restaurant that you could want by staying on McKnight Road. Once you find your way into the hotel, you'll have no additional troubles. They have wonderful refreshments […] available at all times and newspapers as well. It's a reasonable place to stay with absolutely comfortable rooms and people helping to make your stay as wonderful as possible. "Decent for the price"
Wasn't great, wasn't too horrible. For the price it alright. The location is a bit strange and takes a while to find the entrance at first even with GPS. Not convenient to walk to and from.

My boyfriend and I were in Pittsburgh for a concert. When we checked in and tried to call down to the lobby we found that neither phone worked. We also found that the option to purchase movies wasn't working on our remote. So he called from his cell phone to inform him of these problems and they said they would send someone to fix it. We left for the […] concert and when we came back neither problem had been fixed. They sent us to another room where the option to purchase movies still didn't work. They sent someone up who said they would check something downstairs and call us back and we never heard back from them. "Wireless internet Users Beware"
They put me on the top floor at the south end of the building and my wireless connection was so weak I couldn't use it. As I walked my computer down the hall towards the center of the building it got stronger and stronger. I ended up doing all my internet work in the lobby where the strength was good. Affordable rates. Room was clean, but bed was not the most luxurious or comfortable. Hot breakfast included - hot & fresh, but pretty basic. Front desk staff courteous and professional. About what I expected for the rate I paid.
