Grand Hotel Saint Michel - Paris

My stay at Grand Hotel St Michel was excellent. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens and Notre Dame. The hotel staff were welcoming and very helpful. There are also many great shops and restaurants close by on Boulevard St Michel and side streets.

Initially it was a little bumpy at first as the hotel did not have my reservation (booked the same day) However the great service and welcoming was quite nice. I'm not really sure why this is a 4-star hotel as my stay at the Pullman prior to this was far exceptional in terms of overall experience. Paris is divided into twenty neighborhoods called arrondissements, and they're arranged in an outward spiral beginning at the city's center. Breakfast was very good, and features the right mix of French cheeses, salamis, breads, and perfectly prepared scrambled eggs. We liked the location being just one small block away from the square, as it was quiet and restful with the windows closed, yet the energy of Parisian life really should be experienced with the windows open. Room was nice but I was expecting more for the price paid. The room was small small as was the bathroom. After a few days we checked out another hotel just a few minutes walk away and found a great place with a larger room, newer and great balconey- for cheaper! All in all Grand Saint Michel was good but overpriced.

The only problem was the lack of space for storing clothes during a 7 night stay otherwise the hotel is to be recommended.

Nice small hotel in very nice neighborhood of Paris. Room is very small but comfortable for one person. Gym (with only 4 equipments) is only available from 8 am to 8 pm, so basically useless for business traveler. This hotel is in an ideal location. It is close to all the main streets and places of interest. The metro for the airport is a block and a half away ( one third the price of a taxi and very safe!). The staff is very nice and the hotel is extremely clean. I gave it a 3 as a rating because while we were there the hotel elevator was out for 4 days ( we […] were on the 5th floor). It appears that in the height of tourist season the hotel decided to give the elevator a face lift without any regard to the guests. They did not even offer guests the option of changing rooms if they were inconvenienced ( there was an elderly couple staying on our floor and it was awful to watch these folks climb the spiral steps everyday.) The room was lovely however if you are elderly, have any problems with your legs or bring children beware of the extremely tall and slippery bath tub. It was a nightmare getting in and out of it every night and I am fit and tall. The hotel offers wifi but you have to keep asking them for a code. It became a bother after a few days. If you can overlook these things then stay here because it is central to all the major sites. Læs mere

Nice hotel with good service and clean rooms. The neighborhood was nice, but the walk to good food was a little longer than I would've liked. I wish we had stayed closer to Saint Germain.

Arrival: nothing special to be said, everything was ok with the check-in. Polite staff, except that they forgot to mention about the fitness and steam rooms. If it wasn't for hotels.com we wouldn't have known. Room: very nice design, great location. Clean too. HOWEVER, beware those rooms are extremely small (especially for those used to the American […] sized ones). And by small, I mean you've got just enough space to move around one end of the bed to the other one. But, of course, that's Paris and is more or less expected. Amenities: no coffee machine which is a big negative for us. Fitness room - three cardio machines and a bench, but no weights. (Seriously, no weights? there's not much more you can do, but dips.) Didn't use the steam room, so can't comment on that. Looked ok though. Service: if you think that the "do not disturb sign" will keep them out of your room, sorry, but that's not the case. If they see you exit the hotel, they'll send the cleaning lady despite the sign (which we had left on purpose in order to arrange our belongings before she came -- you don't want to leave anything expensive out.) Overall, I'd say the hotel is alright. Expensive for the service you get, but that's Paris and at least you've got a good location and clean rooms. Læs mere

Nice, modern and clean hotel in a very good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Minus was room size, but I guess thats typical for Paris. I would come here again.

PROs: This was a good hotel in terms of location, and boasts a very modern interior design. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The front desk was very pleasant and gave us good information and recommendations for activities in the surrounding area. We walked to many restaurants and attractions frequently, and felt quite safe doing so. CONS: The […] room we were in was VERY small. There was only about 3 feet of clearance between the bed and the walls. The sink and shower were in the main bathroom, while the toilet was in a smaller bathroom across the room. This would have been ok if there was a sink with the toilet. Nothing serious, just awkward to walk across the room to wash up. The breakfast is divided into two options. the 10 Eu continental, which comprises of only some baked bread, croissant, cup of juice and cup of coffee. Then there is 20 eu buffet which is much better, with meats etc... However, in our entire trip to Europe this was the most expensive breakfast by far. Better breakfasts than their continental were free in many places, else, the buffet level breakfast was about 10-14 Euros. Læs mere

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is very modern, very clean, the room is a good size and the bed was very confortable. This is walking distance to everything. The latin quater is wonderful, heaps of restaurants to choose from. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was a great hotel, great location. Only small thing was that they advertised all over their website and on the prior reviews that the drinks in the minibar were free. There is just soft drinks and water - so when checking out at the crack of dawn with no time to spare I was upset to be charged. The other thing was that there was drinks missing […] when we checked in. I did not think we were going to be charged so said nothing. Ended up paying for those too - small but really annoying. This is a great hotel - I would thoroughly recommed it. My room was just like the website photo - freshly renovated, extremely clean and altogether groovy. It's in a great location about 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame cathedral; a litle bit of noise at night but hey if you're staying in a locsation like this, you have to expect a little bit of city  […] noise. Veldig fint og bra opphold på dette hotellet.vi hadde oppgradert rom og det var det god størrelse på.Bra service på hotellet,de ansatte var veldig serviceminded..Hotellet ligger i en bakgate,så det er stille og rolig strøk. Vi reiser gjerne tilbake hit og kan trygt anbefale det videre...

Små men delikate rom. Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening.

For en romantisk weekend i Paris er dette hotellet helt supert, med sin sentrale beliggenhet, sitt pene interiør og en hyggelige betjening. Rommene er små, men rene og pene. Badet var nytt og flott. Froksten var bra og ble servert i koselige lokaler. Vi var meget fornøy med vårt opphold og vil bruke dette hotellet igjen.

Me encantó el servicio y el apoyo que nos dio todo el personal del servicio. Lo que no nos gustó para nada fue la cama.Pedimos una cama matrimonial y nos dieron dos camitas que juntaron y fue lo más incómodo y desagradable de todo nuestro viaje, especialmente porque se supone sería un viaje romántico y acabó siendo un fracaso por la famosa cama en la […] que no pudimos descansar agosto.... eso de dormir cada quien en su cama lo podemos hacer perfectamente bien en casa. Fint hotell med god service og bra standard! Fine fellesområder (frokostsal, resepsjon, lobby osv..) Minus for lite varmt vann mellom kl 08 og 10 om morgenen. Utenom dette, er det absolutt et hotell å komme tilbake til :) Rent rom og fint bad! God buffetfrokost til 10 euro per person i en koselig frokostsal mellom kl 07 og 11. Hotellet ligger to-tre […] stopp unna sentrum med metroen, og har 3 metrostasjoner innenfor en 500 m radius i forskjellige retninger. Direkte forbindelse til CDG og kun ett metrobytte til ORLY. Hotellet ligger i et område med en god del kjedebutikker og små cafeer/brasserier. Koselige omgivelser! Gangavstand til Pantheon, Sorbonne University, Jardin de Luxembourg og Notre Dame. Læs mere

Rent og hyggelig hotel, ikke støy. Kort vei til det meste, koselig gate med markeder i nærheten, rue mouffetard, og alt ellers i latinerkvarteret?

Praktisk og sentral hotell. Små, men nyoppussede rom. Høy standard på hotellet, eneste mangel var en hotell bar. Vi var godt fornøyd etter 3 dagers opphold.

Har hatt 5 døgn på hotellet og det er nye fine rom, fantastisk service, hjelpsomme ansatte med god engelsk. Guidet oss til alt vi øsnket av vinkjellere, reiser, undergrunn, alle måltider osv. Minus for frokost hvis man ønsker det, litt dyrt (20 euro) for en alt for enkel frokost i forhold til hva vi normenn er vant til.

Snyggt hotell, trevlig personal och fint rum. Ett perfekt centralt läge med närhet till många bra restauranger.

Vale pela localização que fica na alma do "quartier" O quarto stardad é confortavel , porem muito apertado ainda mais pela inclinação do telhado.Tente não ficar nos extremos do predio, tente os quartos do meio. a recepçao é bastante atenciosa, o hotel é pequeno mas com requinte, o quarto que fiquei, era no ultimo andar e teto era inclinado mas nao incomodava, o banheiro era muito amplo novo em marmore com banheira separada do chuveiro. a localizaçao ho hotel é muito boa fica perto do louvre a 10 minutos da madelaine, e perto das principais ruas e atraçoes […] da cidade. Svært pene rom med moderne design på alt. Det rommet vi fikk først var lite,litt lite etter vårt ønske, men veldig pent rom og bad. Siden nøkkelkortet til dette rommet viste seg ikke å fungere og ikke lot seg fikse dagen etter, fikk vi et nytt rom den andre natta, som var vesentlig større samt med samme flotte design og oppussing. Et svært tilfredsstillende […] rom på alle måter og med god bred seng. Hotellet ligger meget sentralt og stille, rolig like i nærheten av Boulevard de St Michel. Høflig og forekommende personale. Hotellet kan absolutt anbefales; spesielt når det er rabatterte priser på rommene. Området hotellet ligger i, er ypperlig for både shopping, restaurantbesøk i pittoreske små gater og som utgangspunkt for besøk av ulike severdigheter som Notre Dame, Eiffeltårnet, Louvre, Triumfbuen, Sacre Coeur og Pompidou-senteret og Champs-Elysees-kvarteret. Et koselig lite designhotell, som nylig er pusset opp. Vi fikk et flott oppgradert rom med gode senger, og har ingenting å utsette på standarden. Hotellet har gangavstand til Latinerkvarteret, og Notre Dame. Og det er 5 minutter å gå til nærmeste metrostrasjon. Eneste vi savnet var at det ikke var egen hotellbar. Utmärkt läge! Litet mysigt designhotell. Rummen lite små. Mysig frukostrestaurang vilket räcker när man bor i Paris och har hur många restauranger som helst i närheten.

Small and cozy designer hotel close to Blvd. Saint Michel, Blvd. Saint Germain and the Luxembourg garden. If you are a fan of those neighborhoods the location is perfect. Be aware though that the rooms are extremely small. The bed (queen size) occupied approximately 85% of the floor space. The bed was quite hard as well, I took two nights to get used […] to it. Based on experience from many hotels in both Europe and North America I would say that this is a three (maybe three and a half) star hotel with four star-prices. Læs mere
