Avenue Suites - formerly Washington Suites Georgetown - Washington

Vi boede to nætter på Avenue Suites, og var mere end tilfredse. Kæmpe lejlighed i fuldstændig nyistandsat bygning, meget venligt og hjælpsomt receptionspersonale, og sågår en udemærket (inkluderet) morgenmadsbuffet, som vi ikke var blevet lovet på forhånd. Topkarakterer!! :-)

super hotel med super lækre suiter med god plads til 2 voksne og 2 tenagere, da der er 2 store senge i soveværelse og sovesofa. lækkert nyt køkken som er godt udstyret endda med opvaskemaskine, der er også billigt møntvaskeri i hotellets kælder, morgenmaden er kedelig, meget kedelig og der er for lidt siddeplads, men det basale er der, det tager 5 min […] at gå til georgestown med indkøb og spissteder og 5 min i taxa til museumsmilen, er rigtigt godt hotel som kan anbefales til familier. De løber af og til tør for morgenmad, hvilket kan give store problemer og sure miner. Men over for ligger flere muligheder for morgenmad. Værelserne er til gengæld helt i top med wifi, tv i alle rum og et veludstyret køkken og spisestue/stue og et værelse med bad.

Meget venligt personale Lejligheden var rummelig, men jeg kunne dog godt savne et spisebord. Køkkenet var ikke moderne, men det fungerede fint OK morgenmadsbuffet, men ikke topkvalitet Alt i alt glimrende hotel til prisen

Hotellet ligger kun 9 Blocks fra Det Hvidehus, samt lige ved Georgetown samt et super godt supermarket.

Central beliggenhed med store gode værelser til en familie også med store børn.

I really liked the new style brought about by the renovations. It is a Euro-modern style with superior service. My suite was nicely done, with plenty of space and amenities. A few suggestions: the sofa in the living room is rather hard and would be uncomfortable for sitting through a movie or a long conversation. The data port and phone are near the […] dining table, rather than being on the desk, making it a little difficult to work on the smaller space. Although the wireless connection was excellent, I prefer to use an ethernet connection when I am working on sensitive information. I would move the phone and data jack to the desk (a great work space, by the way!). The breakfast buffet set up could use a little better planning to make it more convenient but the assortment of food was very good. Læs mere

The hotel was in the middle of a lobby remodel, and we were not inconvenienced at all by the construction. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was within easy walking distance to the Metro. There was a great bar next door. I would definitely stay there again.

Located just 5 minutes walk from the Metro station, across the street from a Trader Joes, and surrounded by family-friendly restaurants in a very walk-able neighborhood, we felt like we stayed in the ideal place for our family's visit to Washington DC. Given the location, we didn't bother with a car rental. And with the full kitchen in our room, we […] were able to cook most meals in the hotel. Was very good. We came with 2 kids. The only issue was that the hotel is still under construction. The location was great for going to Georgetown restaurants and seeing Georgetown University. The hotel lobby was under construction the whole time we were there so you had to manuever under staging and and around workers and dust to get to elevators. Everyone was pleasant and the room was very comfortable despite this. Free continental breakfast was disappointing, self serve from boxes because room was not set up yet and coffee was not good. […] Went out for breakfast each am. Will never stay there again. Hotel was not "renovated", it was under construction. No hot water one night. Front desk could care less. We had to navigate past workmen to leave and enter lobby.

This was a great hotel to stay in! We were a group of 4 and was very comfortable in the room. We had 2 queen, and a pull out sofa bed.! I did not like the construction that was going on! Once the hotel is completed I think it will be beautiful. Hotel staff is friendly!

Overall a very nice stay. There are renovations going on currently, but overall did not affect us significantly. The location is excellent to GW, Georgetown area. Very comfortable rooms, would go back.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my family ( 4 children, ages 6,3,3,1). The room was clean and no complaints there. The only annoyance was they were undergoing renovations and there was construction in the lobby but, no big deal. If I had to ding them on anything it was the poor signage on the the street. Still undergoing construction in lobby but did not really interfere that much with our stay. The kitchen definately needs updating as well as the bathrooms and hallways but well worth it for the discount we received through Hotels.com. Can't beat the location!!!

I stayed at this hotel with my parents and my one-year-old son. The hotel was undergoing serious renovation and there were workers everywhere. There was no mirror in the bathroom, so they brought it in later but did not mount it on the wall. The worst part was the heating/AC. The weather was very cold (the highest was in the 40s during the day), and […] yet, the heat was OFF. Despite many complaints from multiple guests, the staff just said that "we cannot have both the heat and AC on, so the the engineers decided to turn the heat off and turn the AC on because it is not cold outside." The first night, my elderly parents tried to stay warm under multiple blankets while I held the baby in my arms almost all night to keep him warm. At that time they told us that the heat would most likely be on the next day. But that was not the case. The second night the heat was still off, and this time they offered us some electric heaters. Although the hotel was in the midst of reconditioning, the price, convenience, and staff helpfulness more than made up for it.

The word "renovated" should be replaced with under construction. We woke up every morning to the sound of drills and hammers. There was no hot water one night! The folks at the front desk seemed not to care. Every time you leave or enter the hotel, you have to maneuver past the construction workers.

We very much enjoyed the suite - with separate bedroom and living room. We got to hang out while our kids feel asleep. They are still finishing a renovation so there is construction work going on but our stay was comfortable non the less.

We stayed here 2 nights ago and even though they have construction going on, it had no impact on us whatsoever! Extremely friendly staff and overall a terrific place to stay and with their construction price, a great value! Would highly recommend!

Great location. Staff was excellent, friendly, and very helpful. Would have given all 5's if the construction was finished.

Only issue I had was the parking cost of over $40/day. The rooms and breakfast was great. The location was nice with many places to eat and a near by subway to travel.

The hotel was great for us and three kids during Spring Break. Easy access to the DC Zoo, Georgetown, etc. Being a suite, we had everything we needed.

Condition of the hotel leaves a great deal to be desired as remodeling goes on and all this with results that are not great. Room (new) furniture and furniture are tacky. Elevators still with panels to be put in place. During our stay there were piles of chairs stacked in the corridors. Heating was not working properly... the list is long. There is […] no proper breakfast room but a few tables facing the wonder of construction materials. All in all, it is difficult to recommend this place. We spent a night at Avenue Suites and it was perfect. We are 2 adults and 4 kids (aged from 2 - 9) and the room was ideal - plenty of space in the bedroom for all the kids, kitchen and living room with sofa bed. Plus we were able to walk from the hotel to all the main sights. The location is great and there are lots of restaurants close by for dinner […] or breakfast. I'll recommend this place to anyone visiting the DC area. The location is great with plenty to do. The rooms were GREAT... like a mini studio apartment. I only downside the the price for valet parking. All is all.. good place.

The hotel was very confused about our reservation. I was told (in a phone call to the hotel confirming the reservation) that our rooms--with a certain configuration of beds--was guaranteed, but that was not so. We needed to use a roll away in some of the rooms, and our third room was actually a sister hotel located 3 blocks down the road. Other than […] that, all was ok. The hotel staff, especially those working the day shift, was very accomodating. I got in earlier than the check in time, and they were able to get me a clean suite. The hotel location was convenient as i was able to get to the Georgetown, GWU, and downtown areas relatively easily. I had such an amazing and comforting stay that I actually stayed another evening.

We stayed at this hotel in February. Excellent facilities in our room-or should I say mini apartment? Domestic staff were very friendly and efficient. Staff in reception were extremely helpful and friendly too. Yes-they were updating the lobby but we can honestly say it had no impact on our stay whatsoever. The hotel is about 2.5 blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop. The hotel is 1 block from a Circulator bus stop. The Trader Joe's about 1/2 a block away was so convenient for picking up groceries for preparing dinners in our suite kitchen. So the location couldn't be better! The service was unbelievable. Everyone working in the hotel smiled and greeted […] us warmly every time they saw us. The hotel is currently undergoing major renovations. There are temporary walls up around the lobby and breakfast area. There was construction activity going on at all hours, including early morning. There were no tables in the breakfast area, but no one seemed to mind either just sitting in a chair or taking food back to their rooms. We had a wonderful stay! Læs mere

The staff was superb - they were friendly, helpful and seemed to enjoy their working environment. We were headed to the German Embassy and the hotel location was very convenient for us. They are currently remodeling and plan to unveil the new look by April 2012.

The staff was nice and kind. Even if the renovation was undergoing, i was satidfied with this hotel.

Our Suite on the 9th floor was very warm. The heat and fan were turned off and still the suite never got below 80 degrees. We kept the window open in the bedroom 24/7 which helped a little, but the noise was loud from the street below. The hotel was undergoing renovations and a lot of construction noise was heard in the early morning hours,

The staff was very friendly and ready to help. Breakfast was ok. The hotel is under major reconstruction, so you have to deal with noise, dust, open walls, temporary entrance, etc. The room is spacious, but the kitchen needs some tlc, it is bearly equipped. Location is excellent. Will go back when construction is over.

In December, building works meant that breakfast was served as a buffet with no searing in reception area. Room ok with separate reception/study room. Staff friendly and helpful.

When we made reservations, we knew hotel was under construction, however, we inquired about their continental breakfast and we were told it was great, but it was very limited on the choices. D. C. Is so fast paced, front desk employess are quick, preoccupied and somewhat rude.

Very Nice Hotel. It was being renovated so its public places were balled up and messy and the continental breakfast was hard to get BUT the rooms were great! For the money I paid, it was worth it!

I quess I am use to staying in local hotels, where I am not required to pay to park my car. I was not expecting to pay to park after driving 1500 miles. Other, than this every thing was very good. Yes, they are doing construction and the view from the room was awful, but the noise was during the hours I was out, never woke me up or bothered me. Minimal dust, and although there is no real lobby, the wondeful staff more than made up for it! The room was so comfortable, a full kitchen- microwave, full fridge, oven, stove, dishwasher, utensils, dishes.... […] Like home away from home. Separate living and bedroom, desk area, and vanity. I walked to the main Georgetown strip, and all the way down to the waterfront. Beautiful, safe area, and cabs are always outside if you need one. I'm hoping the prices won't go up too much when the renovations are done, because i would love to stay here again, with my family. I was here on business, but as the mother of picky toddlers, the kitchen would be great to make their favorite foods in whiled on vacation. Læs mere
