My only grip, and I'm being a bit nit picky here, is that you have this beautiful hotel in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, and then you have to take an elevator straight out of 1973 to your room. Public spaces were overall, well done and upscale. Room was clean and spacious, but needed some updating. Adjustable mirror was not really adjustable, broke when I tried to move it. Husband and I aren't golfers and we just needed a nicer hotel to celebrate our anniversary on our way further down the road. This place would make golfers swoon. The area is gorgeous. The hotel and surrounding area is very pretty. If you book a room, make sure you book a room with a view. We had a room that opened to the roof and playground below. I love Barton Creek. I have stayed here on several business trips as well as relaxing weekends. If i'm coming to Austin this is where I prefer to stay. The staff is friendly, welcoming and always accomodating. The rooms are clean and as comfortable as home. We booked the hotel when we had a night away from our kids. It was a very nice property and staff was friendly and accommodating. You are only a few minutes from restaurants and stores, but the property is so large and located in the hills, that you feel like you are away from the city, which is nice. This hotel should be rated 3.5 stars. Needs updating and beds were very uncomfortable. Tacky tile in bathrooms and no decosrtions in room other than simple picture. Not worth more than $129 a night in my opinion. Best thing about hotel is exterior grounds and drive there. Has potential but not there yet. Staff was friendly though.

The scenery is beautiful. My kids enjoyed the pool and all of the other activities. Beds were comfortable and the staff was accommodating. We love this place, we will definitely be coming back.

My family and I enjoyed the resort. The pictures doesn't do it justice. The staff was WONDERFUL !!!! The rooms were beautiful and spacious. My son and boyfriends daughter ( ages 8,10) loved the ice skating and the pool. Wish we would have stayed longer......

We stayed there for a wedding and found the entire resort to be very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to be personable without being pushy. Our room was clean and well attended. Everything at the resort was well done, looks like the whole hotel had just finished being updated. Had breakfast at the hotel and used the spa while we were there. Golf was great too. Very close to everything in Austin.

I went there for a girlsfriends getaway, but would love to go back with my kids. They have a ton of neat stuff for them to do, like s'mores on the weekends, an indoor pool, and lots of other fun things. The spa was awesome! Let me skip the positive and mention only negative. The first is the hotel's address only GPS will NOT lead you to the hotel. Instead, it leads to a member only house. I arrived at about 9:00PM, and nobody over there! moreover, nobody take the call printed on expedia's reservation page. finally I found a person who told me to drive two more driveway […] away. OK. I got it. The second, I'm expedia's VIP so I am entitle to get free upgrading and late checkout. However I didn't get anything at beginning. Then I asked, and the answer is 'sorry, we are full so no upgrading is available. If you like, we can let you later checkout.' Kind of disappoint. The hotel location, amenities, and staff were awesome! While the hotel does have plenty of breath taking areas the rooms, elevators, and other common areas need a bit of updating for the price. I stayed in a guestroom with a king-size bed. The linen was extremely soft and comfy. The room was very spacious. The amenities were over the top. The pool was big and so much fun! I can't wait to stay there again! Such a great time!!

We have stayed at this resort several times over the years, and we've always loved it. This last trip, however, was disappointing. Our bed was poorly made without fitted sheets. The flat sheets were stained with paint or something similar. The dust ruffle hem was undone for most of the perimeter. Very pleasant stay in a beautiful hotel with lush golf course, indoor & outdoor pools, miniature golf and plenty of activities for the kids! Very relaxing stay at a very nice resort. Staff was very, very customer service friendly. Exception: Didn't like the individual room doors - woke up to doors slamming as the occupants left their rooms each morning. And the spa was booked, couldn't get any type of massage in. Make sure you book your spa appointment early!

I enjoyed my stay but I was a bit dissapointed with the size of the pool area, we had to wait around an hour just to get a chair. it was an extremly busy weekend and there were tons of kids in the pool and it was very noisy. It would have been nice to have an adults only pool area.

A couple of reasons I would not return to this hotel. 1. The bathroom (walls and doors) were not wiped down. I noticed dirty fingerprints. 2. I made my reservation online from the resort web site (evidently through Expedia). I did not realize Expedia would deduct the funds immediately which froze my debit card over the weekend (my Friday deposit would not be available for 1 business day). This was very inconvenient since I was traveling. Also, after my two day stay, I checked out and was […] charged again on my debit card from the resort which caused my card to be frozen again. The staff at this resort was extremely uninviting. I was completely underwhelmed!!!! They may claim kid-friendly and kid activities, but we found nothing scheduled. We stayed at the resort during the week while my oldest daughter attended soccer camp at UT. All of the planned activities were on Friday and Saturday only, so there was very little for […] the two 10 year old boys to do; except play a board game in the "gameroom", mini golf or swim in the pool. I finally broke down and just took them to Schlitterbahn an hour away the last two days we were there. The pool looks huge on the website picture, but it is actually quite small. Again, very few other kids there and most of the other parents were "ssshing" and keeping their younger kids quite and calm. Although I encourage well behaved kids, a resort pool, while on vacation, is not where you should have to tell your kids to be quite and not horseplay. Room – we were offered an upgraded room. But there were PROBLEMS. No water Saturday morning. A/C went out (>4hrs) Saturday and Sunday morning power goes out and when it restored TV does not work. A few positives - comfortable bed and pillows, late checkout. The resort is dated. Dinning - At the bar and grill - the Tortilla soup was good and the bread […] pudding was decent. Very pricey and food not four star. Sunday breakfast buffet - overpriced - not four star. The creamer was very dirty. Callaway fitting - the whole experience was nice, immediate feedback and the Representative did not try to sell me what I did not need. Golf Courses - are beautiful, played the Crenshaw. The greens are tricky, fairways forgiving. All courses priced high. Anyone can play a Fazio course in Texas just go to El Paso a third of the price at Barton, which includes all the cold bottle water you can drink and cold towels, not at this resort. Notification of golf bag storage at club house would be nice. The Crenshaw course needs more signs leading to the first hole - the sign was painted on a rock and barely noticeable. Tell customers driving range is opposite to the golf courses. Customer service: was ok. We had good experience with registration, dinning and golfing services. Given that there were issues throughout our stay you would think the resort would have offered some type of incentive – not so. Due to the problems, we didn't think the resort was worth the price we paid. Læs mere

We really enjoyed our stay, 3 nights! We were a little disappointed in a couple of instances considering this is rated a luxury hotel. One example, they were doing some work on the first dsy of our stay on the ceilings on our floor, the 7th. There was drywall/ceiling dust on the carpets for the following 3 days, quite a messy appearance that could have […] been quickly cleaned up with a vacuum.
