Shore Hotel - Santa Monica

We were there ón grand opening day and it was a really good experience only minus was that there was no breakfast.

Very nice. People who complain about the shower being see-through must not have read about the privacy screen. There is one. It is in a very nice location of town, easy to walk around. $30 a day parking was a bit steep but the free wi-fi was a good offset. Right next to the beach, pier, and promenade. Location is truly prime. Rooms were very new and modern. Pool was wonderful. Rooms were super clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice location good parking self or valet . Over priced no bar or food. Was a travelogue back in the day. Santa monica has loosed its charm basically melrose at the beach. Hotel would have been more fun if it had a bar, food.

Only bad thing was the crowded pool area. Everything else was top of the line.

We really loved our stay at The Shore. It's a beautiful, new hotel and it's in a great location! The staff were really helpful, the room was lovely and we enjoyed the complimentary wireless internet with no problems! Would recommend this as a great place to stay!

This hotel is in a great location for families. It is across the street from the beach and the Santa Monica Pier, which has an amusement park. The staff provided excellent service. The maid walked into the room just after we checked in and my wife was in the restroom! Room with 2 double beds was cramped. Balcony was a triangle shape, very small. Our view from the room, was considered garden view, which consisited of their cement courtyard with a few trees and some grass, also overlooked the ally where all the dumpsters where and […] deliveries to local businesses started early in the morning, very noisy. Room was too hot and couldn't get it too cool down. Bed was not very comfortable. Extra charge for parking and it was not well marked for entering and exiting. Great Location, right opposite the Santa Monica pier. Close to the major shopping mall, food outlets and bars. Very comfortable rooms with all mod cons.

Great location- close the 3rd St Promenade and across from Santa Monica Pier. Room was modern, beds were very comfortable and cleanliness was of the highest standard. Staff were informative, friendly and willing to assist with all queries. Would stay here again and highly recommend to others.

Great location, great new hotel. Service is pretty weak though, don't expect anything. Also no restaurant, which isn't a huge problem given there are a thousand places around it.

Perfect location when visiting Santa Monica! New, clean and awesome!

We loved our stay at the Shore Hotel. Very stylish and fabulous location next to the beach and the Santa Monica Pier. Also great shopping and restaurants nearby. A bit disappointed that there was no hotel bar (no place nearby was quite that modern & hip), but that's a minor disappointment. Clean, great location, friendly but clueless staff. I left my a pair of pants behind in the closet. After calling a few times and endless time being on hold I was told that they didn't find them. My request to be called back by the head housekeeper and my email has been ignored. Next time I'll stay at the Shangri-La again down the road.

A bright, modern, elegant hotel on Ocean Avenue just behind the 3rd Street mall. Nice rooms, a little small. Glass-walled bathroom is a little disconcerting for some. A curtain or smoked-glass option would be nice. As this hotel is new there is still a number of amenities that you may expect for the price. No resturant in the hotel. No store. No morning newspaper, no vending machines. The weather was great so we were able to find some really nice eateries close by. The location was excellent for the Santa Monica Pier and beach. Overall we did like the hotel.

The hotel is contemporary, clean, and sophisticated. The staff were professional and helpful, without being condescending. We would definitely stay here again.

There a few days for work, nice spacious rooms with a modern look (love the shower). Hotel layout is a bit confusing till you figure it out. Hotel gym is better than you typically find.

This is a new hotel right opposite the pier and beach in Santa Monica. It is also a block from main shopping area. Staff were great. We stayed here for 2 nights post Disney before heading back to Australia and used it to explore Hollywood. Would definitely recommend. The only minor down point was self parking at $30 a night was a bit steep.

I hadn't been to LA since 1983 and I was looking forward to seeing Santa Monica again as I had visited there many times when my grandmother lived there from '57 to '82. The Shore Hotel had received mixed reviews but I liked the location and the eco-attitude advertised. It is a newly opened hotel that is an interesting place right on Ocean Blvd. We had […] an Ocean Front room so I could see the wonderful Pacific and the homeless people and the pier. It is noisy facing the busy street but the glass doors are excellent for noise reduction and that never was an issue when the doors were closed. My daughters had a room facing the pool and could see the ocean from the side. That room was probably better from a noise perspective. The carpet in the halls looked sort of shabby 1950's modern but I suppose it is a matter of taste. The shower is one that spares water so it is like taking a shower in a gentle rain. It is kind of interesting. Not a sting hot powerful shower to be sure. And the bathroom is all glass so there is a shade that comes down to cover the shower space which is otherwise exposed to the room. This is good I suppose to take a shower while looking at the ocean or perhaps to let a friend observe your bathing techniques. A real down side though is that at night if you go to the bathroom the light from the bathroom illuminates the room. There are no restaurants or room service in the hotel but that's cool because you can order out and have your food delivered from any number of nearby restaurants. The MacDonalds around the block is a wild creepy place in the morning full of homeless people but I got coffee there that was good . The pool is small but nice and the small jacuzzi was nice to relax in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. You dont have to drive at all in Santa Monica because you are right where it is all happening. The pier is a tremendous draw for the locals and is a lot like Coney Island in that regard. We liked everything about this Hotel: great location, great ocean view, great standard, everything new. Good swimming pool. The only thing which we were not so happy about is the fact that there were no hooks in the bathroom. No place to hang the towels. we were a family of 4, so 4 towels do need some proper place to hang. We just had to throw them […] on the floor after each use which is not good. Just an okay hotel... When I pulled up to get my car valeted, nobody came out to greet me or help with my bags. I had to go inside to get some help and get noticed (they weren't busy) They do not have any food or drink on the property, but it's in a good location to where it doesn't really matter.... I however, would not stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay and would stay again. Be prepared for glass shower wall into main room. Not sure why this was done and was a little bothersome. Bed was OK, but no great.

top quality hotel and staff in the best location santa monica can offer - amazing

I am very picky when it comes to hotels within modest budget but the Shore was simply fabulous. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is great and thew view is breathtaking. I highly recommend it.

Stayed here for 2 nights for business right down the street. Amazing clean place! Super fun looking, young helpful staff dressed to the 9's, overall, great place to stay!

I thought the Hotel was very nice(of course it's new)and the location is great. But the staff(front desk) are very.....cold, uninviting, busy, and not very interested in customer service, we weren't even greeted when we arrived. My phone had no reception here, the WiFi did not work half the time & staff were unable to assist even though it was a reccurring problem with previous guests, no fan in the bathroom, shower pressure was minimal & our "Ocean view" room was an ocean view room.. if you peeked your head around the corner of the balcony, sure you could see the ocean! Strange hotel! If you want privacy in the bathroom don't choose this! It's just à glass Wall with à drapery and the door is à joke.we left one day earlier than planed and stayed att Georgian instead. Much better!

We stayed at The Shore for our trip to the Rose Bowl and found that the location was absolutely perfect - across the street from the Santa Monica Pier, across the street to the 3rd Street Promenade shops and restaurants. Walkable to everything. The pool and jacuzzi area are amazing with fire lamps illuminated at night. We (husband, father, brother, […] myself) stayed in a room with 2 queeen beds and it was a tight fit (expected). Definitely no room for a rollaway. The bathroom - while beautiful - left a bit to be desired in the privacy category. The shower is completely glass and shares a glass wall with the sleeping space. There is a privacy curtain that comes down, but there are many angles that one can "catch a glimpse" simply by walking around in the room. The bathroom door slides and does not close and the glimpses can again be seen, just by moving around in the room. Every noise from the bathroom can be heard in the sleeping space, and light from the bathroom completely illuminates the room even with the door and the privacy drape down. The hotel was very quiet, despite being full and we did not hear any noise from the hallway or the adjoining rooms. The parking garage across the street is about half the price of the hotel garage. I would stay here again for sure, but would probably have booked two rooms in hindsight. Læs mere

GREAT ROOM BUT WAY OVERPRICED FOR WHAT WE GOT. WE WERE PUT IN THE BACK OF THE HOTEL AND HAVE TO RIDE 2 ELEVATORS AND GO ACROSS A WALKWAY - ROOM HAD NO RECEPTION FOR CELL PHONES WHICH IS A PAIN TO HAVE TO WALK OUTSIDE TO TALK AND GET MESSAGES. NICE ROOM AND SECURE BUT WAY OVERPRICED.

got in my room and found clothing left by previous guest in the closet. did they clean/check? there is a refrigerator in the room but is empty. when asked the front desk, answer was but all I was looking for was a bottle of water. and there is no water to buy in the entire hotel. shower pressure very low. answer: we are lead certified. my question: […] what does it have to do with water pressure? security walking at night on hallways with radio... and no headset so no way to sleep due to paper thin doors and wall. unless you have a super cheap rate, stay away Læs mere

The Shore is lovely from the outside and in your room but if you are trying to interact with the staff the only person worthwhile communicating with is Jessy who is the bell guy. the staff at the desk is like dealing with robots who dont know much and could hardly manage a smile upon your arrival much less proper directions. The hotel asks you to go […] through a prompt before you sign your credit card charge and it says parking is $20/night and after you sign they tell you it's $30/night because they are using someone else so beware of their little tricks. if you order breakfast, realize it comes from a local restaurant down the street so you might as well walk there yourself.
