Excelent rooms, modern, clean' full of amenities, comfortable. Lately renovated. Public areas (lobby and restaurant) - not yet. look glumy and need a small "facelift"

Good location next to train station. Great amenities including blue ray with great DVD selection at the front desk. You may ask who wants to watch movies while in Salzburg, but we returned to the hotel after dinner,watched the Sound of Music then did the Sound of Music tour the next day and it was great! The hotel is themed very strongly 'Salzberg' with a Sound of Music floor, a Mozart floor etc. The rooms themselves are nicely boutique - comfortable beds, feather pillows,beautiful modern bathrooms, flat screen TVs and the breakfast buffet is very good, especially when it is included in the price, There is a car park which my husband appreciated. We stayed at this hotel in May 2011 in a "themed room" and loved it, so we thought we would stay here again. This time, we had three "regular" rooms, 207, 208, and 209, and we were disappointed. The carpets were stained and needed to be cleaned, and in the shower there was mold on the tile grout which was so obvious, that the maid would have had to […] have been blind not to see it. I did complain to the receptionist and when we got back to our room, the tile grout had been cleaned, but there was still light brown mold visible where there was once darker mold. The carpet stains were still there, however, I did not expect them to address that issue until after we left because it would take time for the carpet to dry. (I had a chance to peek in to room 206, and they had no carpet or bathroom issues.) Other than those two issues, the stay was great. Free parking, very reasonably priced wi-fi offered, and the breakfast was good. A taxi ride to the tourist areas was 7-9 euros which I would recommend because parking downtown is a hassle and will cost you just as much as the taxi ride. The hotel is close to the main train station which also has a nice super market to pick up supplies. All in all, I would stay here again, but if I was given a room that was dirty, I would demand another room. Læs mere

First night the room was smelly and unclean. Next day we where prouvided with an other and nice clean room. The buffe breackfast was OK.

We loved the Salzburgerhof and would definitely stay there again. The Salburger, a smallish, European-style hotel, is very convenient for travelers wishing to stay near the train station, which is 1 1/2 blocks away. However, it's about a 20-minute to half hour walk to the old center city, although there are several buses or trams you can take from the […] station at a low fee. The receptions staff almost all spoke excellent English and were beyond helpful, asking us before we could ourselves if we needed a map, suggestions on where to go, etc. As all volunteered suggestions involved simple directions or of interest, i.e., no restaurants or souvenir shops, there was no fiduciary interest for their recommendations. Every time we walked past the desk we were greeted with big and genuine smiles, asking if we had all we needed or if they could be of assistance. The included breakfast was a splendid buffet. And though you had to pay for internet access at the one terminal in the lobby, our stay was well worth the cost of the hotel, if for nothing else but the breakfast, the convenience to the station and the wonderfully friendly and helpful hotel staff. Greatly enjoyed our stay - good location, nice quiet area with free parking. A family style hotel with a very attentive staff.

The hotel was very nice and the staff extremely helpful. Parking was free and was available immediately outside the hotel and across the street. The hotel had free wi-fi, but was a little slow-may have been just peak times. The breakfast was exceptional-wide variety of meats and scrambled eggs as well. My wife is a light sleeper and wished for darker […] curtains. The location was a distance from downtown; the bus station was close, but walking to the center took about twenty minutes. The hotel was very nice with a pleasant staff that was very helpful. The location was about a 20 minute walk to most sites. The breakfast buffet was the best we had a good variety of food.

This hotel is grosslyover represented in the photos. Rooms we booked were petite for the price and the sketch of Mozart on the wall, hardly made this a "themed suite." Lots of hair in the bathtub and flys in the room on arrival, followed by no toilet paper and a staff that really were not interested in trying to make things right, let along apologize […] for the cleanliness and disappointment issues. Location of hotel very close to the main train station, thus making short trips to nearby regions very convenient. Walk to the historic area takes about 20mins, but thats fine for me since its very easily assessible by bus. Nice room with small luxuries like a Nespresso machine though did not use it..

This is a very nice hotel close to the train station, some shopping, not far from the sights of the city. The greatest asset, though are the wonderful staff. From giving complimentary umbrellas, to scheduling excursions, and even arranging a doctor visit, I can't thank them enough. We really enjoyed our stay at the Salzburger Hof. The hotel was extremely reasonably priced, the room was larger than expected, and extremely clean. The location was good. Only a 15 minute walk to old Salzburg, and bus stop is close by. The entire staff was as friendly as you can find anywhere, and they were more than happy to answer questions and give […] assistance. We were able to buy tour packages at the front desk. The free breakfast was one of the better breakfast meals that I've had in European hotels. They actually had eggs! The actually had parking available right in front of the hotels. I can think of nothing negative to write about this hotel. I recommend the Salzburger Hoff without reservation. Læs mere

Hotel staff very friendly. Good price. Breakfast very good. Ate dinner at restaurant and was also good. Stayed in room 308 which was on the "Sound of Music" floor in the main hotel (not the annex). Really a fun theme. Brought back good memories of watching it as a kid during Christmas. The hotel is about 15 min. walk to old town so if you have knee […] or hip problems, probably not the best place to stay. But otherwise a great place. Also, there is a charge for A/C and I would rec. getting it. If you have to leave the window open for fresh air, you hear all the noise from cars, buses, people, basic city noise. Parking is free. Hotel was located within walking distance from the train station. This was helpful to us. The hotel room was not as clean and neat as you would expect from a 4 star hotel. It is not a 4 star hotel at all. It would be a 2 star hotel here in USA. The bathroom was in need of maintenance and repairs. I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a good sized room for family of 4. Staff very friendly and a large selection of food and drinks for breakfast. We walked into the centre twice, once by the river and once through a residential area which took about 20 minutes to the Mirabel gardens. Very happy with the value and what a beautiful city.

I was surprised by the size of the room, I think we may have had the largest rooms since there were 7 of us (4 per room). There was a nice little entry hall with coat hooks and a full length mirror, a sitting nook with two chair and a small table and a dressing area with a large closet near the bathroom. We used the trundle bed (the folding kind for […] easy removal from the room) as well as the pull out sofa and there was still room to walk around in the room. There was a coffee pot and water heater for tea in the room and a fridge with a few drinks. The restaurant and breakfast were very nice with fruit, cereal, eggs, and breads with meats & cheeses. They also had a selection of teas and a coffee maker with a variety of coffees to choose from. The parking was a bit small but we were able to safely park our Suburban. The location of the hotel is good and if you are young and don't mind the exercise it is within walking distance to many nice locations. The walk up the river to the abbey in the evening provided a lovely view of the fortress and city below. Læs mere

For us, the closeness of the bus & train station was very convenient, since we were traveling by train in and out of Salzburg with a lot of luggage. Others my not find the area the best, it was easy enough to get into the center of the city by public transportation. I was travelling with my daughter by train and having this hotel so close to the train station was great. Also, very close the Mirabell Gardens, only 10 min walk. Staff are very friendly, both at the frontdesk and the restaurant. Breakfast was varied and tasty. We stayed at Der Salzburger Hof for a night in late October 2010. I had reserved two rooms on Hotels.com and check-in was a breeze. Our rooms were in the annex across the street from the main building. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable - this is exactly what I had expected for the price. With regard to the location, the hotel is about […] a 20-30 minute walk to the Old Town. But, it was actually kind of nice to walk along the river and come around a bend to suddenly see the castle and churches perched on the hill all lit up at night. What a beautiful sight! Staff was very friendly and helpful, good location to train terminal. I would not considered this a 4 star hotel though because it didn't have the modern amenities i would expect of a 4 star. Rooms where clean, location to train station was helpful. We read a review that breakfast was additional 5 Euro but it was actually 12.50. We only found out when […] leaving. The hotel is very close to the Hbf, so when you arrive by train it's an easy walk to get there. After that sightseeing in the altstadt is 15 minutes away and some of it is a walk in the park (literally). The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They are always ready to answer any questions you may have.

First time in Salzburg, very beautiful city. The location for the hotel was very convenient for train travel but we were traveling by car so it was just a little tricky to find due to some one-way streets. Limited parking lot but we were one of the lucky ones. Rented the quad room which was great for the family. Only downfall was it was right on the […] corner of the building facing both streets. So if you are a light or early sleeper could be a bit loud. Not very much late night traffic that you find in other cities. Staff was very helpful in recommending sites to see and places to eat. Don't have a lot of European hotel experience but definitely better than places we've stayed in France. Breakfast was usually European fare with some cereal stuff for the kids. Læs mere

The hotel was extremely convenient to the train station, which meant that local transportation was also very accessble. Room was clean but very hot! The city was having high temps, but it didn't help that the bathroom floors were heated, so it contributed to a very very hot stay. Unfortunately, the front desk did not make it clear that breakfast was […] not included in our room rate (like so many places in Europe), so we found ourselves with unexpected charges at the end of our stay. The breakfast was worth the 5E extra - lots of choices both traditional bavarian breakfast foods and american breakfast foods. Well worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Der Salzburger Hof. It was a two minute walk from the train station to the front door of the hotel. No car needed because the busses will take you anywhere you want to go. The bus ticket you can get right at the hotel desk for 3.20 Euros for a 24 hour pass. Have fun we did.

We were given a smoking room even though we requested a non smoking room. We complained but the reception didn't seem to care, but they did change our room the second day. The non smoking room was a lot cleaner than the smoking room. This hotel is a 3 star hotel with unwelcoming service.

We stayed in the newly renovated hotel annex (across the street) and the room didn't quite meet our expectations. Even though the weather on the cool side (50 degrees low, 68 high for the day), the room always felt stuffy (no A/C). The breakfast was really not that great--I try to look for places in Europe with decent breakfast because so many are […] good, but this isn't one of them. The scrambled eggs were cold and hard and they brought me cold coffee one day. This hotel is in a good location if you're traveling by train. Even though we never felt unsafe, some of the surrounding neighborhoods are less than desirable. Læs mere

Perfect location just down the street from the main train station and not far walking distance to Old Town. A bit noisy due to being on a main street. Overall I would stay there again for the price. Great Italian Restaurant near train station in the City Center building.

This hotel is just down from the train station. After we checked in we were told to cross a main road, and our room was on the 1st floor in that building... I didn't notice on there website that the hotel had rooms in a separate building away from the main hotel. We had to cross the road every morning for breakfast which was a bit of a pain. They have a small parking lot if you come by car which was our case, and which is not advertised in their internet ad. Very convenient. Nice breakfast also. Sehr nettes Personal. Sauberes und großes Zimmer. Hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Liegt sehr bequem erreichbar beim Bahnhof und von dort gehen alle wichtigen Busverbindungen weg. Danke!

Zimmer 401 als Nichtraucherzimmer gebucht Raucherzimmer bekommen.Zimmer 401 und 404 laut knarrende Dielen im Dachgeschoß mit Wänden dünn wie Papier.Zimmer 401 eine Heizung die nicht regelbar ist. Schlafen in diesem Zimmer ein Erlebnis aber keine Erholung.

Das Hotel wirkt von außen etwas unscheinbar, dafür glänzt es innen mit sehr schönen Zimmern, perfektem Service und vielen kostenfreien Zusatzleistungen. Parkplatz inklusive, Frühstück immer dabei, zahlreiche Videos zur Ausleihe - was will der Gast mehr? Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und für mich schon deshalb ein Grund, wieder zu buchen.

Sehr gute Lage (Bahn,Bus), nur wenige Stationen bis zum Stadtzentrum. Gutes Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr gutes Morgenbuffet. Die Internetbilder der Zimmer entsprechen nicht der Wirklichkeit: nur die neu renovierten Zimmer sehen so aus.

Gemütlich, feines Buffet, aber sehr lärmig und Probleme mit Parkplatz. Komische Ansicht über WLAN Internet. Je nach Unterlage kostet es zwischen 1 und 3 Euro. Dürfte ruhig inkludiert sein
