Whoever is responisble for training the staff here deserves a pat on the back! The whole team were charming - every member I met, from cleaners to managment, had time to greet me and make me feel welcome. This was a comfortable hotel and the staff were freindly and helpful throughout. It was a bonus having the chance to accomodate my dogs - although the supplement of £30 was rather steep! The leisure facilities were great. The only negative was the VERY noisy radiator in our room that filled each morning at 4.45am.

The room service menu selection was very light, I assume they wanted you to eat in the restaurant. Everything else was fine. The staff very friendly and next time I may even try out the gym.

The hotel is well positioned and close to the motorway. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However the hotel is let down by its condition. In our room there was a lot of mould on the windows. In the lounge/bar area the carpets are looking tired and it is plain to see where the carpets are joined, it is becoming threadbear. The worst Principal Hotel I ever experienced. The worst receptionist representing hotel ever experienced. If you want to be hustled for your credit card details while you eating your breakfast - welcome to Derbyshire Principal Hotel. Regardless that you provided all details to receptionist the night before- you are still chased like wild animal during […] your breakfast. When problem addressed to receptionist - the patronising and absent tonality of the voice and attitude of Alcatraz was hurled back to me. " That is not my problem Sir" - is the patronising and angry response of this Receptionist, who would probably get a successful carrier as Prison Guard but certainly not a front person representing very known Hotel Group. Room - it was not cleaned properly, towels contained hair from cleaners or whoever else. Bad was like a trampoline and cushions were neck braking. You would probably need to book therapy and serious massage after spending night in such a bad. Water was dripping like from Arizona's desert cactus - no pressure, taps broken. Shell I continue - I could overcome Tolstoy's War and Peace in volume of complaints towards this Hotel. The Hotel Manager was informed in details and is now fully aware that there is a massive problem with his Hotel Team. I stayed 4 days at Hotel and when I was leaving I noticed that Receptionists were smiling and greeting their visitors - That could be the new beginning of Derbyshire Hotel and I hope that my vigorous complaint would provide to other guest the treatment and service they paid for and expect to get. I stayed couple of nights at the Hotel with my wife and it was fantastic. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly. We were not charged for breakfast even though it was not included in our room rate. Definitely will stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times due to its convenient location just off the M1. Sadly, the quality is deteriorating particularly in the restaurant. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff helpful. The hotel is modern and generic so the atmosphere is somewhat sterile. If all you want is a comfortable place to stay with a decent breakfast it is ideal. Our evening meal however was extremely bland and overpriced

Handy location by M1/a38. Friendly staff. Trouser press was broken. TV was old and to mingy to provide a biscuit with a tea/ coffee facilities in room. Good price but will get the same room quality from most chain motels..

I was on business in the area and chose this hotel because of the location. When I arrived, there were sticky stains on the table in my room and there were small, dark hairs on the toilet (very off-putting). I asked reception to arrange cleaning of the toilet and table and when I returned to the room an hour later, the pubic hair was still on the toilet! […] This time I stayed whilst it was cleaned. The room service meal that was delivered was the wrong order and when it was re-ordered it was so over-cooked it was completely inedible. I have to say, in all my 49 years I have never been presented with such a disgusting meal (and was charged £17 for a burnt burger and frozen chips!) The bathroom fan was incapable of being turned off and sounded like a kettle boiling all night. To cap it all,I was awoken at 3.25am by somebody vigourously shoving my food bill under the door and could not get back to sleep again! The only positive thing I can find to say about this hotel was that the breakfast was pleasant the following morning. I would rather sleep in my car overnight than visit this hotel again. Læs mere

The Reception staff were welcoming and helpful, and the service throughout the hotel was both friendly and professional.

I have stayed at this hotel before and one of the best bits used to be the breakfast. The day I visited the cold fruit buffet was dreadful, tin peaches, tin pears and tin grapefruit. not at all what I expected. The toast was coming out burnt. I asked for poached eggs which were cooked ok but they came on a plate which was swimming with water. The dining […] room was freezing so by the time you took your cooked breakfast back to the table the food was cold - plates were already cold. lots of people were complaing it wasnt only me!! This hotel has never been the warmest, the reception area and corridors were freezing. Room was cold and never really warmed up even with heating on full. All in all I wouldnt stay there again preferring to use Premier inn next door Læs mere

This hotel was a real find. We stayed in an executive room, which was more than worth the money. Facilities were great, their leisure center really made the place. Breakfast was included in the price, and was a fairly varied buffet with good quality hot food. Being located next to a designer outlet village, the shopping was also great. We only selected this hotel because it had a swimming pool and jacuzzi. Upon arrival we were informed that neither were in working order - as had been the case for some time - so much so that the hotel management had arranged for guests to use a neighbouring hotels facilities 20 minutes away. I wish I'd known this so I could have just booked there instead. […] Ring before you book is my advice, otherwise you just get a fairly ordinary Travelodge type experience for your money. Læs mere

Μας βόλεψε το δωρεάν ιντερνετ αφού είμασταν για 3 νύχτες για δουλειά. Πέσαμε πάνω στην κακοκαιρία με τα χιόνια και οι χώροι ήταν παγωμένοι. Στο δωμάτιο μου το καλοριφέρ δεν λειτουργούσε και έξω ήταν -10. Τα κουφώματα έμπαζαν παγωμένο αέρα και εκτός αυτού το κρύσταλλο εξωτερικά είχε πιάσει πάγο. Δεν κρυώνω εύκολα αλλά χρειαζόταν κάθε βράδυ καυτό ντουζ […] για να μπει κάποιος κάτω από το πάπλωμα. Το προσωπικό ήταν φιλικό αλλά τα δωμάτια (τουλάχιστο το 122 που έμεινα) απαιτούν ανακαίνηση. Στο χώρο του πρωϊνού ήμουν με το μπουφάν που κυκλοφορούσα έξω λόγω του κρύου. Læs mere
