I was pleased with the professionality and smoothness of the all thing.

This is a nice hotel and a big hotel! What I like about it is they have a decent gym in the basement of the hotel or also there is a Fitness First right next door if youre like me and like to workout. The location is excellent if your intention is to go to the Beach Club (probably the best club is KL) as its right around the corner. There are a number […] of places to eat right in walking distance. The only problem I had is that come nighttime, there is nowhere to eat! All the resteraunts around the hotel close at night. And even the hotel room service is closed during nighttime and early morning hours. I find this very strange for such a large hotel! First I called room service (assuming they were open 24-7) but they told me they were closed. I went to the front desk and the front desk assured me they were open 24-7. Then after some confusion they said no room service is close at night. I literally could not find food. I ended up walking numerous blocks down the street to find an open 7-11 and buy some food. The hotel is located in a convenient location and near to shopping malls shuch as the Pavilon. However, it is rather old. The internet access in the room is rather poor - wired and wireless. They should upgrade that. In adiition, the TV is the traditional CRT type.

we recently stayed at the Equatorial Hotel twice in the last month. We had 3 adults staying in one room. On the first occasion the room was very cramped with the third bed. We were given a bigger room on the second visit which worked much better. However the wi fi would not work in our second room and after several tries we gave up. It did however work […] in the lobby/lift area on the second stay. We felt the second room looked a bit tired and the carpet on our level was quite dirty. The limo service to the airport was great value and the porters were very helpful. Enjoyed its closness to the towers and suria shopping area, great place to visit in the evenings. Great location between the shopping malls of Bukit Bintang and the bars of Jalan P Ramlee. Short walking distance to the nearest monorail station. The hotel is a bit old now but the room and public areas were immaculate and the service was friendly and efficient.

Its a shame if this great hotel closes as said by the girls in the club enclosure which was excellent with the kindest staff.Hopefully it is for refurbishing only because this was refreshingly comfortable.

I stayed at the Hotel Equatorial KL with my 2 sons for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great - short stroll to monorail station and easy walking distance to the centre of KL. The location of the hotel is good easy access to shopping complexes or to those on holiday ideal place to stay. You can either choose to walk or take a monorial and everthing is within reach.

They upgraded my room and allowed for early check-in. Good knowledgable staff, helped in budget local travel information. Room was clean and near (walkign distance) to KLCC, Twin towers, KL Hop-on Hop-off bus service, Raja Chulan monorail station and a good/affordable Indian restaurant.

Great location. Minutes to Raja Chulan Monorail and walking distance to mega shopping malls. Helpful concierge. Will definitely stay in this hotel again when i'm in KL.

Chosen this hotel due to good experience in Hotel Equatorial Malaka, however, I've made the wrong decision. The service is acceptable, hotel facade is very old and need upgrading including main lobby, max is only 16 floors so no good view and food in the hotel is below average. Walked about 10 - 15 mins to KLCC and had our meals instead. The rooms […] I rate it below average as well. Showerhead is very old and water pressure is low, bathtub is dirty and mould, toilet flushing system is not working well (need to flush at least 2 times), no separate bath so had to stand on the bathtub and bath, no shower screen (only shower curtain) so made the toilet floor half wet and slippery. Toiletries are very limited and I consider it as stingy. No LCD tv (only CRT), no internet, minibar is below the TV rack so is quite a hassle to bend down every time and it applies to the in-room safe as well. Mattress is old and uncomfortable, lack to additional power points, I simply have to unplug the lightings power point for hair dryer and other stuff. And the list goes on.. I would rather pay more for a decent stay in other hotels unless equatorial goes for major overhaul, I would never consider. Læs mere

This is my second time staying here, personally i choose this hotel because its close to KLCC-just a ten minute walk away, and the pavilion shopping mall. The hotel staffs are really friendly and efficient, i'd say its good value for money.

It's a 4 star hotel yet it exudes a 5 star elegance, giving you the posh feeling whenever you enter its main doors. Though a 4 star hotel, it's price is uncomparable with other hotels in the vincinity and is suitable for people on a budget but yet yearn for a comfy hotel to return to after a long day of shopping. Hotel Equatorial's facilities are also well maintained and considered an all-rounder as it has a gym and a pool which too me, is good enough. It's view is actually not bad, depending on which room you stay. If your room is facing Jalan Sultan Ismail road, you'll be able to see the reflection of KLCC on another building's glass facade and also the view of the monorail's tracks. However, if you were to be staying on the other side of the hotel, you'll be able to enjoy the view of the real KLCC. Though not a full view of it, it's still an enjoyment to have a glimpse of the top 1/4. Thus, as a frequent visitor to Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur, I strongly recommend this hotel to all tourists coming to Kuala Lumpur. Læs mere

Fantastic location, very good service, reasonable and cheapest along the strip. We initially stayed for 1 night on a lay-over then my girlfriend chose to stay there for another 2 nights on a lay-over back to Perth. The place is just so close to everything and very secure.

Need to have a major renovation , staff not well trained, outdated services - eg no free wifi connect Chargeable where other hotel come free services Overall - poor rate

Hotel service poor, will not stay again on the next visit to Kuala Lumpur.

I gave it a 3 star with 4 star facility now. This hotel looks outdated for a 5 star. It badly needs reno which the staff confirmed will commenced March 2011. My room was spacious. Staff and hotel looked tired. It's only 5 min walk to the monorail that can take you to Chinatown and other places of interest, 10 min walk to Bukit Bintang Entertainment […] and shopping district where you can get the best shopping and food. 10 min walk to KLCC Petronas Twin Towers/Park. Hotel has a pool. Wireless is charged daily and is slow to a crawl. NOT worth it. Wireless should be free at all hotels. The buffet bfast is boring and flavourless, walk across and get KFC or to Bukit BIntang Mall and eat almost anything you want for one third the price and tastier. Taxi will cost you about MYR45 each way. Avoid rush hour wherever possible. In spite of the lows, I liked what I paid for. Læs mere

Massive hotel in centre of business district- a short walk fro twin towers (apparently 10 mins apparently) and near Bintang road (lots of shops/ restaurants/ bars etc). Pool was ok on rooftop but right next to function room so didnt make you want to use it (and we didnt use it). Food was expensive here so didnt eat here. Concierge very willing to help […] (got the hop-on, hop-off bus and sorted out taxis here) but very slow! Room was basic considering the price, with twin rooms when we had booked a double (and they could not change our room either). Bathroom quite nice with a bathtub but nothing special. Room was noisy (could hear a lot in the corridor and also they did repair work on the carpets in our hall from 10am- 6pm on one of the days we stayed which woke us up). There was a note apologising afterwards but no warning when we checked in- surely we could have been put on another floor? Overall, overpriced but good location standard large hotel. Good hotel. Decent rooms. Decent service. Room smelt very musty and bathtub was old and in need of replacent, but overall the rom was clean and tidy. Minibar had been left empty. Comftable beds. Good location. Impressive lobby and resturants but service in bakery was very slow! Also exterior of hotel needs a facelift, but nice inside.

absolutely enjoyed my stay, room service was tasty(though rather pricey, but its worth it). 10 minutes walk from klcc, enjoyed the view from my room. the staff were helpful, friendly and polite.

Overall a very good choice. Very friendly staff at the reception who will help you on any matter, very polite. Early check in also possible. The location of the hotel is excellent, only 10 minutes walk from the Petronas Towers. The rooms are nice and spacious, very good condition, though would not give it a 5 star rating but 4-4.5. the hotel is located nearby the towers and a popular shopping mall. staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful yet room service staff's lack of english meant a very long winded and complicating ordering of food and in turn wrong food being delivered. they did take it off the bill but the whole incident took over an hour to sort which was frustrating […] when relaxing in your room, otherwise a good stay for getting out and about Læs mere

Great would stay again

I had stayed for 3 days at Equatorial. Location of the hotel is excellent. Probably the centre of KL. Room was OK too if you are spending most of the time outside your room and just want to spend night.... Even if u have to spend a whole day even then its better. Only thing is rooms are very simple with 19th Century 17" TVs with just 10-12 cable channels, […] most of them are boring. Equatorial is on an excellent location in the centre of the Golden Triangle. Easy to reach by public transport - Monorail Raja Chulan is just two hundred yards away. The rooms are old fashioned 70-80s style, but large and comfortable. The hotel location suited our trip centred arund the KlCC area. Hotel was a bit on the old side which we expected for the price. Overall very happy during our stay and felt safe in comfortable.

Only location's the problem. Everything's fine. Just renovated I believe.

The location is very good - close to the City center and shopping locations. Rates are reasonable. Taxis are easily available, and Monorail is nearby. The check-in was smooth, we were in a big family group, and had driven from Singapore - parking, concierge etc facilities were very useful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great Hotel, rooms were a little small and the view outside was ok. Was in a good location, close to night clubs and pubs and also the train station to get around. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

I found leaking water taps in the toilet, this place requires refurbishing and cleaning.

Close to Kualalumpur Tower and Twin Towers (Petronas) Close night life bars and restaurants. Maybe some of them are just for lonely guys if you know what I mean...

There are no hitches on arrival. The front desk was most helpful-was very glad to have booked Equatorial. Thank you to the management & staff!

very nice hotel, good price, was able to check-in at 7am after a 10hr flight so that was definately a plus. breakfast was very good and location is good.

Equatorial is one of the best hotels that I have ever satyed in. Kudos to the management and staff.

Room was clean and well maintained. Shame about the squeeky bed and construction site that woke us up at 7.30am. A longer walk to Pavillion than some of the other reviews stated - Its about 10 mins but overall very good value for money.

Room was not ready when I showed up after 3 p.m. to check in and air conditioning did not work. But room was otherwise comfortable and clean, and the hotel is just a short walk from a monorail station where you can connect to Sentral Station to catch express train to airport.
