Best Western Suites - Columbus

I have stayed at the hotel before and love the rooms and breakfast. The only downfall this time was the pool. It was so cloudy you could not see your feet and when I swam I got hair in between my fingers. Needless to say our total time spent in the pool was less than 10 minutes. The hot tub was so hot I could not even put my feet in.

WARNING; We booked a king non-smoking. When we checked in at 3 pm, they claimed to only have a smoking room. We asked for ANY non-smoking room, they simply said "we're booked." At 3 pm, they surely had another room, but (I'm guessing) since we were at a Hotels.com rate, they chose US to compromise with. The smoke smell in the room was AWLFUL! They insisted […] that their "machines" cleaned the room of the smell. We did enjoy the warm pool; the hot tub (about 106 degrees) was too hot for most of us to enjoy for very long. IF THEY'RE NOT BOOKED, you should have a nice enough stay: we just had no indication they were full and would not honor our room request. Læs mere

We have stayed at this hotel twice now and we really like it. We are planning on staying there again in June. We stayed at the hotel right next door last year and we preferred this much better.

The hot tub was way to hot, but everything else was good.

Hotel was clean - per se. Rate was good. Rooms were roomy and decorated well. The only problem was that the rooms/halls smelled of old cigarette smoke. It was very strong. My recommendation is based on the rate and location. The smell was pretty bad.

Very Pleasant employees! The continental breakfast was very impressive & the employee was very pleasant each morning!

When I booked my room for two nites it was for two queen beds and even called a week ahead to confirm when we checked in I was informed that they upgraded our room to king bed and a jacuzzi room that smelled of cigarette smoke. Upon check in the desk girl was extremely helpful and overly pleasant. We needed to move our rooms to ground floor from the second floor and she was more than helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The overall two day visit was pleasant and would recommend for anyone that would like to be close to downtown but not have to spend the downtown […] prices. The main lobby is really nice... After that, well we went into the room it was clean. My 5 year old wanted to watch a movies. I took a DVD and went to the tv and found that on top of the tv was a VCR player... REALLY!!!! What year is it? 1999? We then went to the indoor heated pool and the water was extremely cold and the hot tob was too hot to be in, […] the next day a sign was placed on the door that the pool heater was broken. We arrived very late we booked a two bed one sofa bed when we got to the room we had just two double beds. The heat did not work.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and the scrambled eggs were very tasty and hot. We also enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. They even helped us navigate from the hotel to the Columbus Convention Center.

I've never done a review before but haven't even checked out yet and wanted to make sure that we got this one in there. I was SOOOO impressed with the customer service at this hotel. The room was nice, the hotel nice, everything was great - but the lady working the night shift made this a most enjoyable experience. Upon arriving the first night, she […] called us by first name and had our room keys ready and everything done. Then I called down later to find out the TV line up as I was hunting a ballgame. Not only did she tell me what channel it was, in about 5 minutes - the phone rang and she was giving more information about the ballgame - she had continued to hunt it for me! Then the next night we came in, she spoke to us by name and was so very helpful when my computer had been locked in the manager's office (who had left work). this hotel was clean and quiet. two restaurants nearby. others not so far if you are driving. convenient to interstate highway.

Apparently the type of room one reserves here is a mere suggestion. We did not get the room we reserved. The manager just shrugged and told us that all of them had been filled. Will not stay here again.

Our stay was enjoyable. Room was clean and neat. Attendants were very helpful and courteous. Nice variety of breakfast items. This was our 3rd stay at your hotel and we always bring another couple with us and they enjoy the hotel as well. Thank you for your service.

My husband had stayed at another Best Western and was quite reluctant to stay here. However, I must say we were more than impressed. We booked four suites that had large beds and pull-out sofa beds. The rooms were clean, had hair dryers, and working refrigerators! The indoor pool was nice on a rainy day, and the jacuzzi softened sore muscles. The expanded breakfast was great and well attended to by the staff! first off, don't let the name fool you--these are not suites, but a few feet larger than a standard room to accommodate a small sofa (NOT a sleeper). Hotel was clean, good location for driving to Cedar Point. My complaints, however: the breakfast room is WAY too small for a hotel this size (we were unable to find seating all three days of our stay) […] and the food was not being replenished as quickly as it was being used; housekeeping was a little out of the loop (the room was clean, but we would return in the evening to find just one bath towel or no toiletries replaced for the four of us). Room was filthy, carpet sticky, holes in walls, ceiling coming down, painted over falling-down wallpaper & border. Pool was scummy, landscaping a joke. Although it is convenient to get to Ohio State, I will NEVER stay there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The staff at the Best Western Suites were great. When I arrived, they had all paperwork ready and the check in and check out process was speedy.

We stayed at this location ten years ago and found the staff very friendly and rooms was great! Keep up the good work.

The hotel is situated next to a Country Inn & Suites and is in a safe, convenient location, near Hilliard. I was not impressed with the breakfast, which they tout as "Deluxe Continental." I stayed here for five straight days and it was pretty low level each morning. Small coffee cups, no flavored creamer (a must for some of us!). Mostly carbs (breads, […] bagels, donuts). Some fruit in syrup which was always warm. Yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and cereal, waffles and something hot (fake scambled eggs on a few days, and bisquits and gravy the others). I am a fan of Hampton Inns and this breakfast was no where near the same quality. Otherwise the hotel was fine. There is a Bob Evans right next door and plenty of easy to drive to restaurants nearby.For the price I would stay here again. Læs mere

Hotel is in good safe place. Room is roomy. Hotel needs serious updating. We had a problem with a mouse or rat in our room at four in the morning and they moved us with no hesitation. Breakfast is great and the lady taking care of it was very nice. Pool is indoor and small but we didn't have any problems using it. Restraunts within walking distance. […] Staff was friendly. Continental breakfast was second to none! Lady attending breakfast was very helpful, friendly, clean, courtious, and kept up preperation of food. Jacuzzi room was a nice surprise....!!!!!! The price could not compare to the exemplary service that we recieved.... i felt like a princess!!!

Our stay was very pleasant. The people at the front desk where very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, other then the shower head leaked and sprayed everywhere. The breakfast and breakfast area was wonderful. We would come back and stay at any time. Any the price was great.

We came to columbus for a business convention. The location was great from downtown. Getting on/off the highway was easy and parking at Nationwide arena was super simple. The hotel was nice. The shower was fussy, though. It started out cold, then got really hot, then cold again. Not sure what that deal was. Breakfast was good. Nothing special. The suites were clean, odor-free, comfortable and felt more like home with the refrigerator, microwave, sofa and desk. Bathroom was roomy. Nice closet and extras. Good selection on continental breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our experience was fabulous. Our room had a king size bed and a sofa pullout bed. We still had ample amount of space to walk around and relax in the room. Everything from the pool area to the breakfast room was neat, supplied, AND clean. Even though the hotel is off the highway, we felt safe and secure. At check-in Chris was awesome! We took my son for his birthday as a surprise and Chris made sure that we had everything that we needed and my son loved it! He also kept the pool open a little later so that we would have more time to swim after we ordered pizza. We were able to have a pizza delivered with in minutes and with no problems! There were people […] there for a birthday party and there were kids running around the pool that were loud and were not being watched by an adult but that was not Chris's fault it was the parents that were not watching their kids or the group of kids that were with them! But we did mention it to Chris and he did talk with them and made sure that are stay was very pleasant! We are already talking about going back just to get away from our home for a night or 2 and go swimming! The hotel was only like 15 minutes away from where we live but we tool my son and his cousin to the movies and to the hotel after wards as a surprise so they could swim, since his birthday is in December we are not able to do that at home, lol. The breakfast in the morning was also very delicious and had many different choices whcih was great since we are a very picky family when it comes to eating.Over all it was a birthday that he will never forget! Our experience with this hotel was overwhelmingly pleasant. I was extremely satisfied with the size of the rooms and the overall look of the hotel. The Continental Breakfast was more than I expected and the breakfast room was clean and spacious. I did not use the pool. However, from what I saw of the pool area it was very nice and clean. Best Hotel Breakfast around. One of the best places to stay in the west side of town. Its been a TEN in my eyes all the time Ive stayed there.Ive stayed in most all the other hotels in the same area and they dont come close.Many have even declined in recent yrs. This one never has.

We were very pleased with our stay. The entire facility was clean and comfortable. Quite honestly, it was nicer than we expected for the price. It's so refreshing to still find quality at a reasonable price!

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. Comfortable, clean, quiet rooms, very nice accommodating staff, a terrific breakfast and the best coffee I've ever had! Being right off I70 it was very easy to get anywhere you wanted to go and a couple great restaurants and gas station close by too!

Very clean and staff are pros. walking distance to Perkins breakfast,-n-,Wendy’s. Easy drive to most sporting events.

This hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly. There was a nice variety for breakfast. We did not have time to use the pool, but really enjoyed our stay. Great hotel for the price.
