we booked a double room and ended up in a twin room. they might not have been single beds but they weren't even a standard double. however they were comfortable

The breakfast was good but we were disturbed the first night by a rugby team whose doors were banging each time they went from room to room to visit their team mates due to the springs on the doors being too strong. I complained the next morning to reception who said the rugby team were going so we did not ask for a quiter room. However the next night […] was disturbed again by the very same rugby team who were supposed be on the floor below. I complained again the nexct morning about the banging and shoting between 11pm and midnight although the on-duty "porter" was supposed to watch out for rowdy behaviour. Also my wife and I ended up with aching backs due to the uncomfortable bed. I don't think we will be booking with this place on our regular trips to Bury. Læs mere

Friendly staff at the reception and bar area. Rooms were clean and comfortable with clean ensuites. Location handy for people passing through as it's just off the A-road with lots of parking. Average restaurant, nice bar. They hadn't received one of the two room bookings we had made through this website, and it wasn't clear whether that was their fault […] or the website's. They sorted it out and we had an otherwise hassle-free stay, which was good on their part, but had the rooms been overbooked it could have been an issue, again not sure if the fault lay with the hotel or this website. Very basic hotel which was absolutely fine until the shower experience in the morning. 1970s mixer tap shower that was nearly impossible to get right. Bar and food the night before was fine and staff friendly but in today's day and age the rooms need investing in.

Despite continuing to push free WIFI the hotel currently has no connection and has not had any for over a week. Despite this there was no apology at check-in.

I booked a special rate, queen room, with hotels.com. The hotel informed me that all their rooms are standard twin or double, so I did not receive a Queen.

Hotel was close to train station, only used for an overnight business stay so not there for very long. Breakfast available as either full, continental or Tea and toast and priced accordingly. Not the most up to date hotel but clean and fine for me.

I stayed here as I had meetings near by the following day. The hotel was clean, the staff were pleasant and the food was good. Overall it was a typical hotel near transport links etc, but my feeling was, although not falling to bits, the hotel is crying out for a refurb. My only real criticism was based on the what I had paid for the stay, to add around […] £15 for breakfast, taking the cost to almost £80 was rather steep, when in fairness I would really only rate the property as a decent B&B. Hotel getting a bit tired and my room had the option of cold, colder or baltic showers reception did say maintenance would look at but as checking out cant say end result. Staff especially young lady on reception always very pleasant and helpfull.

On arrival we asked the receptionist for a twin room. When we got to the room it was a double. Went back to reception and once again asked for a double room of which it took 20 minutes to get the electronic key to work which involved several trips back to reception. The beds were hard and the duvet's wafer thin! The whole room and bathroom and in fact […] the whole hotel is in serious need of a refurbishment. We also had friends staying in the same hotel. They had no hot water on their arrival and the double bed was tiny. The fire alarm went off early the following morning because of the toasters!!!! people were outside in freezing tempratures just because someone was not monitoring a toaster!!! This hotel may have been good in it's glory days but they are long past. It really is crying out for a complete refurbishment. The bed was very small and the bedlinen and towels have seen better days. Very few comforts in the room. Breakfast was ok but nothing exceptional.

I stayed here previously about five years ago and the standards have remained about the same - also not bad value overall. It was perhaps a little disappointing that half the dinner menu was "off" on my second night, but that's life, I guess!

I stayed one night, so any shortcomings were short-lived. I found nothing wrong with the room; there was a little traffic noise from the A14 but not much, even though the room faced it. It was clean and comfortable. While they were efficient, the desk staff didn't seem very interested; I dealt with them three times (check in; arrange a morning call; […] check out) and didn't get a smile at all. Breakfast was adequate [dietary restrictions meant I couldn't sample the cooked breakfast] but again the Sunday morning staff seemed pre-occupied. Despite proximity to by-pass, no traffic noise. Easy to find & plenty of parking. A little tired and could do with a tart-up. Staff very efficient & friendly. Public areas clean & tidy as was accommodation.

On the whole our stay was enjoyable. The staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Our one evening meal was disappointing but what we expected for a hotel chain of that size.

The hotel is very basic and needs a make over. We found the room overall fairly clean although but was concerned about the dubious stain on the chair in the room where a previous guest had obvious been sitting! Most of the staff were friendly. The breakfast was basic and over piced for the quality you got for the price. This is the worst hotel I have stayed at for many years. I actually left and moved to another hotel instead. The staff were rude and abrupt. The service was casual and terribly slow. The food I ordered took ages, and I was told to be patient when asked when it was coming. Ramada is meant to be a good brand. Never again. Did its job for us but VERY jaded. Holes in duvet. Bar area furniture was in a dreadful condition and only suitable for the bon-fire. In the evening it was dark and bleak. A 'WARM LIGHT' in the closed restaurant would have at least given a better and more welcoming feel. Evening bar area would only serve tea or coffee but not drinking chocolate which […] was requested. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst we were attending a friends wedding. It wasn't luxury, but it done the job. It was clean, comfortable and great value for money. I would certainly stay here again, if I was ever visiting Suffolk.

Stayed here for an overnight stop as we had to be in Bury St. Edmonds early the next day. The hotel has a very tired feel to it. We had dinner there and although there was no problem with the food itself, the table had a very sticky, greasy feel to it. We found the bed very uncomfortable and our room faced the A14 so there was no chance of any sleep […] after 4 a.m. when the lorries started roaring by. Breakfast was not included in the price and we were served by a very unfriendly waitress. The breakfast was served in a conservatory part of the hotel but still here we had a table that felt sticky and hadn't been cleaned properly from the previous diners. Will not be back. Læs mere

Not an enjoyable stay. Reserved and prepaid for a delux room, on entering room it was clearly a small double. Rang reception who initially stated i had requested a standard room. I offered to come down to reception and show them my confirmation which clearly stated a delux room with seperate working area etc, but was told not to bother as all the delux […] rooms were taken. Shower unusable,either scolding hot or ice cold, impossible to adjust. Window broken, if you tried to open it bottom half fell out. Food quality & service in restaurant poor. Ordered food & wine at 8.30 Wine arrived 5 minutes later, starters followed an hour later,no more than ten people in restaurant. It is right next to the busy A14 and the traffic noise can be a nuisance also there are no pleasant surroundings to stroll in.

This was my first time here but i will be coming back just a great location handy for everything . Room excellent everything you could want really excellent staff as well nothing too much trouble , had a smashing time really enjoyed myself. If you have not been go , car park good too car very safe.

2nd visit in two weeks, still impressed. Room different to first time, had arm chair and bit more space as bed was up against wall. I was on my own so not a problem. would use again if in the area
