What a rip off!

The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had an issue after checking in where the room had the wrong number of beds and the staff resolved it immediately with no problem. They were also very helpful in figuring out which tours to take and where everything was. Great job, all! This hotel is very close to the Ayers Rock, so that you can have a view on the Rock from the hotel area. The hotels next to the Ayers Rock are all part of the same Group and have a kind of monopol situation... Price is high and service is low. Not a lot of choice at Ayers Rock for a higher end hotel. Very disappointed that photos posted on web site were not at all what we found. Not the fault of hotels.com I am sure but no room has clear view of the rock!!! For the price paid expected more, hotel a bit shabby and dated - rooms could do with an update - still, compared to lower priced accommodation […] at Ayers Rock would stay here rather than pay less. Having read some of the reviews, I arrived with low expectations. Very impressed with facilities of both the hotel and resort. Particularly good customer service from front desk staff, tour guides and porters - all very polite, friendly and professional. Given the prime location, I genuinely feel I got a good deal. We stayed for 2 nights at the Desert Gardens hotel and although it was not of the 5 star quality you might expect of a city hotel, given the remoteness of the location I think it's unrealistic to expect more. I don't even know where to begin with this. Terrible all round. You have no choice but to stay at this resort if you want to see Uluru and Park. Make it two night max and get the hell out! You can see Uluru and Kata Kjutu in 1 day.

This is a 3 star hotel. Staff were not very friendly or diligent in providing service. Overpriced for the quality of the hotel and service.

Interesting architecture of the eighties, check-in and check-out times not fully customer focused (arrivals and departures of the major flight connections).

check in only at 3pm, which is a problem if you have a early flight in. Other than it was fine

The hotel was located close to Uluru, with easy access to the Uluru viewing sites. The hotel is also located close to the airport.

This is a very expensive area. I would suggest the Emu Apartments and cook some of the time. We had a hard time getting into restaurants that do not require reservations.

The desert inn was a great hotel for visiting the Uluru Kata-kjuta park. All the hotels seemed nice there though. (the Pioneer lodging seemed more budget) all are close to together and there is a shuttle bus that runs periodically between them all. Although, the Desert Inn was quite nice, I think I would go with price. One negative that I might mention […] is that they charge for internet. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was (we'd heard mixed reviews about the resort). Rooms were clean and the grounds around the hotel very pleasant. Our room was right at the far end of the complex so a bit inconvenient but it was quiet! We didn't use any of the facilities and went to the restaurants in the village which were pretty […] ordinary. Having just one night, we picked a hotel and room with a view of Uluru to make the most of it. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was too cold to use the veranda but we enjoyed spotting The Rock through the window. Unfortunately we just missed the bus for the main sundown viewing (left 4.45!) but a small lookout over the road was an easy […] walk and fine for pics. Back in our room we were enveloped in warmth. Very grateful for this heating as it was near zero outside. The restaurant/grill attached to the hotel served an exceptionally delicious dinner with a menu including Aussie and feral Oz meats and bush fruits & spices. Good staff, clean and tidy rooms. Remember you are in the outback and don't expect the same as elsewhere. The room doors do open to the outside.

This hotel has the best location in the Yulara resort as it is the first one you come to when entering the resort itself. If you can, spend a few more dollars & book a room with a Rock view (still cheaper than staying at the Sails in the Desert) - it is something else opening the curtains first thing in the morning & looking out towards the mighty Uluru. […] Our room was on a corner, so had an extensive balcony as well, which was great to relax on & unwind with a glass of wine after a day exploring!! All of the hotels in the area are owned by the same company, so if you want to see Ayer's Rock you just have to suffer through it as they're the only game in town. AATK provides a free shuttle from the airport to your hotel, and back. They will give a 10% discount on tours if you grab the coupon from the driver. The hotel is rated at 4.5 stars but […] would barely pass for 2 stars. I've stayed at Motel 6's that were of a higher quality. The bathroom was the nicest part of the room, but it had a wide gap at the base of the door so there was no privacy. Pillows were thin, bed was hard, and the little 20" tv received 8 channels of which 4 were pictures of the hotel. Not to mention all the bugs that were impossible to keep out of the room. A free shuttle takes you around to the different hotels and restaurants. Where you can charge everything to your room. Keep in mind if you pay with a credit card there is an extra 1-3% tacked on at the end of your stay. There is a supermarket in the resort, but again it's owned by the resort so prices were only slightly cheaper than the mini bar. Buy water here as it was one of the few things priced drastically lower. Unless you're absolutely set on seeing Ayer's Rock I'd recommend going somewhere else in Australia. Spend a few extra days at the Great Barrier Reef, or somewhere with more to do. Læs mere

Das Zimmer das wir hatten war sehr sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und komfortabel. Wir hatten sogar Blick auf den Uluru. Der Außenbereich hingegen ist vor allem abends voll mit Kakerlaken, Spinnen etc. Das liegt daran dass falsche Pflanzen und der Müll der Hotelgäste diese anlockt. Das Desert Gardens Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Ayers Rock und den Olgas. Der Blick vom Balkon des Hotels auf den "Uluru" ist fantastisch. Das geräumige Zimmer, mit grossen Betten, macht einen Aufenthalt in Yulara zum Vergnügen.

Um den Urulu zu besuchen ist das Hotel sehr geeignet

ゴールデンウイークに、２泊しました。 風呂のバスタブが無かった以外は快適でした。 子供がいるので、ショッピングセンターから歩いて帰れるホテルで大正解。なんとランドリーがタダでした！ ホテルスタッフは胸に国旗の入りのバッチを付けており、よく見ると日の丸バッチもあったので、話掛けると、やはり日本人スタッフでした。２名ほど日本人スタッフを確認し、分からないことを聞いたりしてラッキーでした。 お勧め出来るホテルです。また、ここに泊まります。

Good hotel but very expensive for what they give you.
