This is only a W Hotel because it has a huge W plastered on top of it. Obviously it was once a lesser brand hotel that W took over. Our disastrous one night started with having to go up and down the elevator 5 times before we got a set of keys that actually worked in our room door. The heat in the room barely worked and was so darn noisy it was better […] to bundle up and be a bit cold than run it.The bed has to rank up there with one of the 5 worst I've slept in - lumpy with craters... The staff was very nice, but unfortunately it didn't make up for the inadequacies of the hotel itself. The front desk person had told us they were having problems with the system that made the keys and they had someone working on it. We went out for dinner and upon returning had to get yet another set of electronic keys. Thank Goodness it was only one night.. Do yourself a favor - JUST SAY NO TO W SILICON VALLEY! Læs mere

We had alot of maintenance issues. There was some kind of leak that made the carpet wet and then the sink handle came off and the toilet got clogged. Since this all happened in the middle of the night, we didn't let the hotel know so they could fix it. We just dealt with it. It was a very nice room and hotel though. I would go again. Easy place to find with ample parking, but you wouldn't think it existed in the area unless you stumbled upon it, or heard about a party being thrown there...

The pros: 1.Clean rooms 2. Good facilities in the room 3. great bathrooms 4. good in-house restaurant Cons: No DVD player in my room when it was supposed to have one Have to pay extra for internet. Its a problem with nearly all major hotels. Do you really need to nickel and dime your customers

I was there for a conference, and I initially thought, "Who would put a W Hotel here?" but it turned out to be a really good location in terms of getting around, proximity to all three airports (SFO, OAK, SJC), etc. Rooms were nice, clean, and hotel was quiet but fun.

In general you can never get dissappointed at the W. The only excception I have to make is the loudness of the air conditioning system. I do not know if the compressor in the room had a problem or what the reasons was. This W has been around fro quite some time, maybe it is time for some overhaul of the equipment.

And its very hard to use the temp control in the room. They ran out of two bed rooms and I asked for a roll away then went to dinner and when i came back.of course it wasn't in my room. Thay was upsetting.

Location is not very convenient, and it is located no where near any restaurants. Hotel is favored for the party crowd on the weekends that are very noisy and loud in the hallways all night. Bar below rooms is open till midnight. Restaurant they have has limited menu and terrible breakfast service, even though they offered one full free breakfast for […] two people. Then they charged for the coffee! Pool needs repairs and proper maintenance, gates didnt even work right. Hotel windows missing lots of screens, so it prohibits opening for fresh air. They charge for WiFi, but the free parking was nice. Room was clean and nice, but the noise factor kinda ruined it. This location seems to be missing some proper management and care for the customer. A little disconcerting to have a police officer at the check-in desk at midnight. The rooms are beautiful but whatever they put on the bed, under the sheet was rumpled all night (please keep in mind that I suffer from "princess & the pea" syndrome :) Also, only one vanity light in the bathroom worked which made it difficult to apply make-up in the dark. […] Clerks at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Was not please with this hotel at all. It is a W so I assumed It would be flawless but it was in an old and empty part of town. We arrived to a scene from a Las Vegas pool party. Over 50 people running around the lobby drunk, loud, and half naked while 2 security guards stood by. There were "white" stains on the couch in our first room and a condom […] wrapper in the bathroom of the second room we moved to. No bartender on staff if it wasnt peak hours (wanted a drink on a Friday at 1 pm). Out of coffee 6 out of the 7 times I went to get coffee. No free internt (who has to pay for internet these days)- $6 per day or $6 per hour if you use the puiblic computer. No room service- had to go downstairs to order from the bar. I asked for additional hangers that were never received. 3 requests for blankets. Simply wasnt the W as I thought it would be. Læs mere

Not close to anything but businesses. Had to drive for restaurants and tourist attractions. Hotel held 2 days of private parties that made the restaurant and pool unavailable to us and no complimentary amendities offered to off-set this.

This hotel was just...odd. In some ways, it was luxurious and grand. It had everything you could possibly want. All of it, though, came with a price. It seems to care more about those who want to be seen in a scene than who want comfort and convenience. There was nothing in the surrounding neighborhood, which kept it quiet, but didn't contribute to […] being able to leave the area to do anything. Dynamite linens, with a rock-hard bed. Opulent purple plush furniture and a bathroom with a sliding door only. I could go on. If being 21 and wanting to look trendy, then this is the place for you. I booked for 3 night stay. First two nights uneventful, but Sunday was another story. Loud music started playing in pool area at around to 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Apparently there was a party in hotel. Lobby and elevators were packed and getting in and out was an ordeal. Finding a parking space was incredibly difficult. Party seems to have ended at around […] 10: 00 PM but either hotel did not restrict access or a lot of party people stayed at hotel. In any case, I could not get any sleep all night with all the noise in hallways, adjacent rooms. Drunken loud mouths everywhere. I complained several times, and was told that hotel would send security, but with all those people going in and out, slamming doors and loud mouths on hallways, I could not get any sleep all night. Don't know if this was a one time or a regular event,but in any case hotel should have restricted access, book party goers on a separate level or have more security to regulate event. Læs mere

This hotel was so fabulous. The rooms are great and beautiful. The staff is friendly and fun. They made us feel like kings and queens on our weekend getaway.

The setup of the hotel was great. The only downfall was the shower was not clean and the tv received no channels. If I were to stay here again definitely would bring some DVD'S and check the shower first.

Found a great deal on Expedia for this hotel. Thought it would be in line and consistant with the other W-hotels we have visited. This was not the case!!

Great room, very large & updated with nice amenities. But smoke detector hanging off wall in room & large cart of dirty towels in hallway next to elevator, upon arrival.

I heard about W hotel but never stayed in . I told my wife let's stay in this hotel by the bay area. Unfourtently it was the worst experience. The first night we asked for a blanket for our baby son ,the hotel told us that they do not have blanket left so my baby has sleep without a blanket which outside at night got to 40 deg . That was not it the […] bathroom door was broken . The room door would make a banging noise each time someone open or close a door in the hall way. The break fast and the service sucked . After all this they tried to charge me for the breakfast which was includes in my room price. Ugly hotel all I can say . Bad service . Læs mere

I was unimpressed with the room. Wine stains on the furniture and no double shower head as was advertised. Only two bath towels and when we requested another blanket we were told they had none. We were not able to eat breakfast before 7am nor have room service after 10pm.

Great customer service. I was shocked when CS told me that the pool is heated and the jacuzzi, both are open 24 hours. I found some crack and chip paint on bathroom ceiling, nothing major, just a bit eye sore. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others.

I´m sure that there´s a mistake here. I´ve been to W Hotels all over the world, but the "W Silicon Valley" - sorry to say this, has nothing to do with the usual "W" experience. Design, rooms, service/staff are just so not W style. For everbody who has stayed in a W before will be very disapointed.

Convenient place to stay in Bay Area, VERY comfortable, great bed, great rooms, awesome pool area to relax in, good gym, expensive breakfast. Free parking. Equidistant from San Jose and San Francisco, but the strength here is not location, it's just the hotel itself for an affordable price.

This room was so dirty. The bedspreads had multiple stains, the linens were stained. The towels were grey, should have been white. There was mold and mildew in the grout in the bathroom. The coffee table and desk top were bubbled from water damage. The heat didn't seem to be working, never could get the room to warm up. The hotel still seemed new and fancy, but the maintenance of the room we had was lacking. A couple of electrical outlets were non-op, the shower door had to be lifted sharply to close, missing tiles in the bathroom floor decorations, the front door was misaligned and didn't always close, the furniture was banged up, and the fluorescent lights in the […] restroom flickered. like i said before i was very happy with my choice to have my birthday party there.. everyone made me fell comfortable.. It was like being at home but way better.. hahaha... i do plan on coming back there again and again.. Thank u W Suites for everything..See you again soon!!

Not much directly around this hotel, other than marshland and industrial property. The hotel itself is trendy, and you feel like you are in a nightclub. Sometimes it is a little trendy, for example, the pool is called "the beach," but it is just a pool with some sand around the outside.Overall a nice looking place and decent value.

Before I go on about the positives, I wanted to warn everyone about the negative. Make sure to double check your account prior to checking out OR be sure to check your credit card statement when you get it for erroneous mini-bar charges. I see that I'm not the only one that has had this annoying shady experience with this W. They charged me $29.94 for […] consuming items from their mini-bar when I touched absolutely NOTHING! I brought my own food and beverages and had no need to use anything from their mini-bar. In fact, I even thought to myself that I should take a photo of the untouched items but thought that would be going overboard on paranoia. But it turns out, there was good reason for my paranoia because a few days later, when I checked my credit card online, there was a $29.94 charge. I called the front desk to ask what it was for and they simply said items from the mini-bar. I told the clerk I didn't touch anything and mentioned that I almost took a photo of it as proof and he said he would reverse the charges (which they did). I just found that VERY SHADY. Now on to the rest of my review: Hubby and I went to W Silicon Valley to celebrate my birthday. We've never stayed at a W hotel so we were excited to stay at one. The concierge desk wasn't exactly what I had imagined for a W hotel. Actually, the Radisson and the Hilton hotels we've stayed at had more elaborate lobbies than this W. There were several people in front me who looked like they were checking in for a wedding to be held there so when it was my turn, I asked if I could get a room away from the wedding crowd. I was informed that their normal protocol was to book wedding parties on the lower levels and the other guests on levels 3 and up. My room also would be at the end of the hall, away from the elevators, another bonus. The room we had was very visually appealing - nice decor and color palette. Aside from the great rate and a good sized room, there is not much to get exctited about. This location is next to a salt water pond that really can stink. Did I mention that there is nothing around this hotel for miles. The hotel staff is very lack luster and the room attendants will enter without knocking. There are stains and marks on the furniture […] and walls. The non smoking rooms have been smoked in. You get the feeling like a frat party had just destroyed the place. The elevators have this just thrown up in smell and aside from the fact that the W name has a coolness to it in other cities, you would be better off finding a Hilton or something similar near by. This is the W that time forgot. Perfect for an affair due to its location, not so perfect if you are used to staying in a W. Læs mere

Had a very pleasant stay at the W Silicon Valley. The first surprise was the size of the room, which was very large. It was also designed in an attractive way, with the bedroom separated from the living room by a large 180 deg TV turntable stand. One of the other nice surprises was the design of the bathroom, which had iridescent blue tiles on the floor, […] blue lamp fixtures, and a separate bathtub and shower stall. The pillows were especially soft, and the blue comforter was very pleasant. It was also very nice to have a large refrigerator (size of a washing machine) and a microwave. The exercise facilities were reasonable, with freeweights, elliptical, treadmills, etc. I had an especially pleasant stay, I was never disturbed by any sounds from neighbors, and really, I didn't want to leave!
