Rigtig god service fra hotellets personale. Værelserne virker noget slidte i forhold til hvad der kan forventes at et 5 stjernet hotel. Rigtig god beliggenhed til centrum samt 2-3 min. gang til direkte lufthavnsbusser (Airlink). God morgenbuffet.

Vakkelvoren ustabil dobbelseng, udsigt til kedelig baggårdsmur, konstant støj fra airkondition i baggård, TV - kanaler virkede ikke, renhed + toilet/bad perfekt!

Jeg boede på hotellet i 4 dage og særligt i weekenden var serviceniveauet under hvad man kan forvente af et hotel af den standard.

Godt hotel, men vore værelser var dog noget nedslidte. Service var helt i top hele vejen rundt. Beliggenheden er optimal. Morgenmaden er helt fantastisk.

This hotel should not be passed by. The service and locality of this beautiful hotel are second to none. Upgraded to castle view room, as per request at the time of booking....and it did not disappoint. Go somewhere else at your pearl. We stayed here for the Hogmonay celebrations & couldn't have picked a better location, just a minutes walk to the street party. Brilliant views of the castle from the hotel, a minutes walk from Princess Street and short walk to castle, royal mile etc. Room was fab & staff were very friendly & helpful. Definitely recommended :-)

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and were extremely happy with our stay. Our room was upgraded on arrival to a room with a castle view and the location was ideal for getting out and about. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and the girls in the spa were great. The only downside to our stay was the lack of parking which for a 5* hotel is not ideal. […] We had to park a short distance away in a public car park and leave our (brand new) car there for 3 days. Although the hotel validated the ticket with a 25% discount, it still cost us £38 and caused us some concern over the safety of the car. Læs mere

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Caledonian as the last stop of our trip around Scotland, and we finished the trip in style (which was helped by the upgraded room we recevied). The hotel is in a great location with great views out to Edinburgh castle and very convenient for transport to and from Edinburgh airport. The room was great (though the bed […] was a little too soft) and the breakfast and service top class. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh. One thing I noticed (and to be fair they may have processes in place to deal with this) is that given the design of the hotel which leads to very long corridors elderly or disabled guests may want to make sure they ask for a room close to the lift. My stay at this hotel was excellent. Had no complaints and the hotel representatives were very helpful. The breakfast buffet staff were very friendly and helpful and the buffet itself was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.

The Caledonian is a large stylish older hotel, well fitted with most modern amenities. It's just a short walk to the Edinburgh Book Festival venue and to many Edinburgh Festival and Fringe venues. It's a longer, but quite enjoyable, walk to the Castle and the Old Town. Shopping is right at hand in Princes and George Sts. My room was in a newer extension […] to the older building. The room was well furnished and had a modern bathroom. All were well maintained and in good condition. Had a lovely three days at the Caledonian Hilton in Edinburgh. We were lucky enough to be given a room overlooking the castle. The room was clean, comfortable and the air-conditioning worked (previous reviews had commentated on non-functioning air-conditioning!) Being situated at one end of Princes Street the location couldn't have been more convenient. The […] staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a vast buffet spread of pretty much anything you could think of. Omelettes could be cooked to order and there were a number of other breakfast items which could be ordered through the waiting staff. We didn't use the health club so can't comment. We did pop in to Henry J Bean's (attached to the hotel) on the first night as we were looking for a quick bite to eat after arriving late. Henry J Bean's was practically deserted at 10pm on a Thursday evening. It was shabby and lacked atmosphere. That said, the staff were very friendly. They'd finished serving food and we were quite thankful to give the place a miss. We would definitely stay at the Caledonian again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Læs mere

Excellent top star hotel prime location near everything. Only a ten minute stroll to Edinburgh Castle & the Royal Mile. The hotel itself is large and well maintained with very helpful and polite staff. The rooms are large by European standards. We stayed here do to a very large discount on the rooms. disappointed with lack of service to an issue with tv and breakfast service was poor given we had to ask twice for 2 things we had ordered.

The standard room was very basic for that level of hotel but once we had upgraded we were far happier. We did have a problem with the shower which the hotel tried to fix unsuccessfully but this did not affect our stay at the hotel. The location was perfect though and this is why we would recommend it.

Only negative really was internet access, or rather the lack of it. (even in business center)

This hotel is in probably the best location in Edinburgh, across the street from the Edinburgh Castle grounds. Easy access to everything in Edinburgh. We learned that the hotel is going to be converted into a super luxury property, probably too expensive for most tourists. So go while you still can.

The hotel location was just perfect close to the castle, shopping and bus connection to and from the airport.

Great location right in the heart of the city, short walk to the Castle and the major shopping areas. Plenty of bars and restaurants in close proximity. first room was filthy, rug etc 2-5 rooms had a very noisey furnace final suite was beautiful and quiet thanks to the concierge!

I stayed here for 3 days over a normal June weekend (Not a bank holiday). The room was priced at over 1000 Euros for that weekend. I'm convinced we got the worst hotel room in the entire place. The hotel overlooks Edinburgh Castle, but our view from our room was of a car park out the back. The room was so stuffy that we had to open the windows at all […] times. We had the sound of delivery trucks early in the morning coming in through our open windows. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so that was really bad and so stuffy after 3 days. It just looked like it hadn't been done up since the 80's. We booked our engagement holiday last Christmas thinking that the earlier we booked, the better the room would be. Be no, the more money you spend the better the room you get. They call the room a superior deluxe. I call it a disgrace. Shambolic. I would never stay here again. I'm also staying in the Hilton in Dublin, Charlemont Place, and after this Hilton experience, I'm not looking forward to it. I always thought that the Hilton was a great hotel group..... Hotel is in a great location. The hotel is beautiful inside and the staff were really hepful and friendly. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay. The staff was so helpful and went out of their way to help us. The location was amazing...we looked out our window to behold a huge cathedral and the Castle...wow!!! All amenities that you would ever want...very modern in a very ancient setting....recommend highly.

What a beautiful hotel and so elegant. The room was fantastic and the breakfast substantial. The staff were so friendly, professional and helpful.

The hotel, staff, room, breakfasts, car parking and general service where of the highest standards. HOWEVER Stg15 per day to check your emails!!!! I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a stupid way to spoil an otherwise outstanding experience.

We stayed here over the Easter weekend and I can not priase the hotel enough. The room was spacious, full of character and ultra clean, staff really helpful and friendly without that "in your face" intimidating approach, the breakfast was superb and the location on Princes Street could not be bettered. A wonderful hotel - stay here if you can

The hotel looked lovely from the outside and we were on the side of the hotel which faces the castle, unfortunately our room was at the back so we had a view of the car park. We were fine with this as we were only booked for a standard room. The issue with the room was that whilst it was standard we booked this as a 5* hotel and our room really didn't […] meet expectations. There was a small, plug in electric heater and no other heating so the room felt cold, fortunately it wasn't too cold during our visit, if it had been mid winter I would have complained. Also the room was tiny with hardly any space around the bed. It felt like we were given a lower quality of room because we had booked through this website and paid half price. It was disappointing as I can't see us going there again, I wouldn't pay full price and risk such a small, cold room again. The hotel is very conveniently located at the western end of Princes Street. and is near to all the sights. The public areas are very plush. Our standard room had recently been refurbished and was very comfortable and well equiped. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The Caledonian Hotel is in a great location in Edinburgh, it is very clean and the staff are very helpful. The only issue I had was that the Bedroom doors were spring loaded and this caused them to bang everytime someone closed one, very noisy as a result and it was hard to sleep.

We stayed here for our anniversary, following a fab deal. Hotel is lovely, standard rooms are comfortable and clean. Not much room in mini bar for bottles etc but one call to room service and we got a bucket of ice for our champagne. Leisure facilities are a bit disappointing, jacuzzi had no bubbles and as it was during the week, the small swimming […] pool was even smaller due to children's swimming lessons. Sauna/steam room were adequate. Changing rooms are small and a bit tired. Breakfast is outstanding, everything you could want and nothing too much trouble. The self service buffet was well stocked and freshly cooked. Certainly sets you up for the day. On our last day, concierge took our cases and kept them for as long as we needed, which was ideal as we wanted to explore some more. The Caledonian hotel was perfectly situated to explore Edinburgh for a few days with all the main sights within a comfortable walking distance.
