My wife and I had a fantastic 12 days stay at The Maui Seaside Hotel. A perfect position for making our tours round the Island. And the 5 dollar fee pr. day for parking is ok.! I stayed for about 36 hours before my flight home and was pleasantly surprised by this old place. Although the building is showing its age in places, the staff keep it very clean and the grounds, especially, are meticulously cared for. The pool is nice, and the view of the harbor is lovely. Every worker I met was sweet and accommodating. Even the cab […] driver who picked me up remarked, "They're always so nice there." If you like icy-cool air conditioning, look elsewhere, but otherwise I would recommend this place. Whole Foods is a few blocks away and has a great take-out bar. I had some extra time and walked to a nice park and, in the opposite direction, down past the docks and the wastewater treatment plant to the wildlife refuge. Maui Seaside is a few minutes from the airport in Kahului. From the outside, the place is unappealing. However, once in the lobby, with a breeze coming through, friendly women in Hawaiian outfits checking you in, and a glance out the lobby to the waters of the harbor, you are pleased you are there. A great hotel to stay in for business in Kapalua

This is a locally owned motel. The rooms and furnishings are pretty old, but they are clean. The mattress was a bit softer than I prefer, but OK. The motel is close to the airport and a good choice for someone arriving late or leaving early from OGG. Cheap place to stay near the airport. We stayed one night when we had early flight times. It's old and bit dingy, so I wouldn't want to spend my whole vacation there, but it was fine for a night.

The hotel was a bit dated and definitely one of the older places I stayed in on the Island. The amenities are basic and the pool is pretty small. However, if you are like me and aren't going to Maui to sit around indoors -- this place is a great cheap place to drop your stuff and crash for the night. tHIS IS KIND OF A TIRED HOTEL, BUT THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY, AND THE BREAKFAST IN THE MORNING IS A FULL DEAL MEAL AT THE ADJOINING RESTAURANT. GREAT FOR STAYING CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT AT BEGINNING OR END OF TRIP. I WOULDN'T WANT TO DO AN EXTENDED STAY.

This bargain hotel seems to be very old with strange smells. But it is in a convenient place for those who need to take a flight the next morning.

the hotel is just beside the sea and we can have a good view in the hotel. it is good. and it is close to the airport, just 10 minutes.

Extremely good value and pleasant hotel personnel made this an excellent part of the trip. Proximity to airport made it very easy to drop off the rent car and catch the flight home.

Not much to see and do on foot around this hotel. About 10-15 mins walk to major shops and Maui bus terminal. Very close to airport, with some aircraft noise at times, but not during the night. Pleasant location on the bay, restaurant looks a bit dark and dingy but meals were fine and reasonable price. Several choices offered for all-inclusive breakfast, […] including healthy option. They seem to often run out of parking spaces but offer an alternative parking lot nearby. Wi-fi is only in the lobby, and local/toll-free calls are charged at 50c. The Maui Seaside Hotel is conventiently located near the airport, shopping centers, and restaurants. However, the hotel lacks in the following: 1) limited parking for overnight guests; 2) guests fortunate to park on the premises are assessed a $5 fee that was not pubished prior to arrival; 3) elevators and location of rooms in Tower are not conveniently […] located...difficult to transport luggage; and 4) guests are awakened by roosters that crow constantly from 4am - 8am. But overall, a 1-night stay is not bad. The employees are professional and they display a willingness to assist...even the security guard is pleasant and provided assistance. I will stay at this hotel again, and I'll recommend it to family/feiends. However, I will advise them of both the pros and cons. I got a one night stay at the motel as a stay over to check in to another resort. I was unhappy with having to park and pay. Access to the room was difficult up a narrow stairway. Hunting fo rlighswitches was a treat too. Had to dodge sprinklers to get to check out. Overall, I am glad that I did not have to base my Maui vacation there.

This hotel was definitely an older traditional hotel, not as modern as some, but the service was amazing the staff was so nice and welcoming. It was 5 minutes from the hotel and very easy to find. It was a very quaint Hawaiian hotel. I very mich enjoyed my stay :)

The staff was very friendly. The building was in ill repair and not at all appealing. I would not stay there again. To far from all activity's on the island .

We arrived on a late night flight and stayed at the Maui Seaside before checking into our resort in Wailea the next day. The front desk staff was freindly and even gave us free breakfast coupons we were not due. The hotel was older but imaculately clean and comfortable enough for one night or even a longer stay with it's location right on the beach. […] It was a perfect starting point for a day trip to Hana saving us 30 minutes of drive time if we would have left from Wailea. Since options are limited on this side of the island the Maui Seasaide is an ok place to stay. Not a luxury hotel but it is fairly clean.

Small native Hawaiian family run hotel. Pretty good location. Near gas stations and grocery store. My fiance and I stayed here once we landed. It was a good place to stay for the night and convenient after a long day of traveling!

Perfect for a one night stay when arriving late in maui.

Everything was great as far as hotel and rooms go. My only issue was the noise outside the room. Make sure you stay in a room that faces pool or faces in between the hotel's buildings. My room faced the parking lot. The lot wasn't so much the issue, it was the 3 roosters that crowed all night long, no joke. The windows were rattling from the wind as […] well. I kept waking up throughout the night from all the different sounds. I like to keep my windows open and am not a big fan of air-conditioning. That's my only complaint. Had to request a room change as original room was dark and cheerless. No problems with room change. Rooms are large but dated. Reasonable meals at the restaurant. Nice pool and lawn area. Tarriff OK for the standard of hotel. Good value for money overall. Would recommend for a short term stay with easy access to airport.

If you want a hotel on a budget & near: airport, eating, shopping, 1/2 way between attractions on island - this is the hotel! 2 blocks away is the bus stop, where you can hop on/off to get around the island. The hotel is a little run down, but large rooms and has all the amenities. Housekeeping is very friendly & helpful. The only complaints were ants […] in the bathroom, but this is Hawaii = nature & smoking in walkways at elevators (since ashtray is next to it=needs to be put outside). Would stay here again, though. The hotel is located very close to the airport and in "downtown Kahului" which is a large plus for reachability. I have used the hotel as a very comfortable place to rest and plan my journeys. From the central location on Maui of the hotel everything was easy to reach. I was lucky and had a room facing the courtyard with the pool and was not disturbed […] by any noise whatsoever as other visitors complained. There is a direct access to the beach and free wireless internet access in the lobby. The staff is extremely friendly all the time. Maui Seaside was fine for a one night stay. We didn't arrive until 11 pm and were gone by 9 am. Please note there is a charge for a parking pass which they had sold out of by the time we arrived. The front desk staff was very nice. The hotel is dated and tired, but the room was tidy and the overnight hours were quiet. First off for being the cheapest hotel I could find on Maui I certainly wasn't expecting the Grand Wailea. I used this hotel as a place to gather food and supplies for my backpacking trip through Haleakala National Park on my first night in Maui and as a place to pack up before my trip back home on my last night in Maui. It is very convenient for what […] I needed it for, it was a couple of miles from the airport and in very close proximity to grocery stores, restaurants and stores like walmart and kmart. I'm sure there are nicer rooms in the hotel, I was going for the cheapest room. With this in mind the 2 different rooms I stayed in were very reminiscent of any older hotel you may have stayed in, a couple of old beds, dated furniture, poor lighting, old carpet, but there was air conditioning although incredibly loud and a little dusty, very very nice, and newer flat screen tvs for those who can't live without their programs. Although old, I would consider the rooms pretty well cleaned by the room service.They offered internet which I think was free if you were to use it in the lobby and cost you a bit in your room. The hotel has a pool which I didn't used but seemed to be wet and rectangular like most other pools. It is also adjacent to a small public beach. I didn't bother to watch at night but I believe they have a security presence in the parking lot which is also nice. Parking can be pretty tight in the front area, with people parking their shiny rentals i noticed that a lot of people were double parking which was annoying yet somewhat understandable, but there is overflow parking in the back of the hotel, which although seems maybe unsafe, I parked there both nights and did fine and the lady at the desk reported that there were never any security issues with parking back there. The people at the counter were extremely nice. I had a package sent over to myself and they held it for me at the hotel with no problems, I was incredibly happy about that. Checking in Læs mere

We enjoyed the very friendly staff who were extremely helpful in straightening out a tour booking for us. The rooms were comfortable, a bit outdated by well maintained as were the grounds. We would gladly return and would recommend this "family" (hano) hotel.

Clean hotel rooms. Prices accurately reflect quality of hotel rooms & neighborhood. Close to shopping malls, swap meet & airport. Great stay for later transition to Kihei, Wailea or Kaanapali areas.

The hotel had no luggage carts, they have a two wheel hand truck. That would be fine for a heavy cooler but no help for luggage and bags. We were on the third floor and had to walk twice, all the way around the hotel and down STAIRS to use the elevator. THEY HAD NO PARKING LEFT ON PROPERTY, THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PART ACROSS THE STREET AND THAT […] I SHOULD NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE AUTO THAT I WANTED AND I SHOULD NOT WALK BACK TO THE HOTEL ALONE . THERE SECURITY HARD COULD HAVE USED HIS GOOD CART TO BRING US BACK IF IT IS THAT BAD OF AN AREA... P.S... THE BEDs ARE HARD AS THE DOOR. Læs mere

parking: I paid $5 and ended up parking at the edge of the lot such that I was just on the other side of the fence from where parking was free. If one is going to be charged $5, it should be stipulated that closeness isn't part of the fee. lost items: I left stuff in the room and the staff said it disappeared. It wasn't turned into the lost and found. gate […] closure: The one gate closed at 8pm meaning a long walk from the edge of the parking lot all the way around to the lobby and to a room that was essentially closer to my car than the lobby. This Hotel was perfect what we needed. We needed somewhere to simply sleep and take a shower because we did a lot of traveling around the island. It was out dated but still nice. It was clean and they were very attentive to anything you needed. They actually offered a complimentary Room to take a shower in on the day we were leaving. They held our bags […] while we went out for the day in a secure room. We were very satisfied with this Hotel and would recommend to anyone who is not looking to be pampered. staff is pleasant and helpful. hotel is older and could use some repairs. the restaurant has good food and if you set it up right, you get breakfast each morning rwith the room charge. we could open the windows and listen to the waves coming up to the beach each night. great for the budget minded.

This is a great hotel for getting to the airport on Maui. It is just a matter of minutes down the street to the car rentals and airport. Shopping Center is across the street as well as the gas station for that last "fill-up" before returning the rental car. Coconut Grill is right next door or call for a Pizza delivery (located in the Shopping Center). […] Pool is a good size and ocean steps away. Now for my room: the describtion of the room said, "from your room, you can see the pool, garden, and the ocean". When we arrived, they said that they upgraded us to a Deluxe Room (from a Superior Room) and I was pleased until I got to the room. I saw NO pool, NO garden from my room! Where were they? There are several buildings on the property and unfortunately one of those were between us and the pool and garden. I got a great view of the roof of that building! However the view of the mountains was awesome and the sunset was breathtaking. The bed and pillows were the best! Our room was quiet.This hotel is perfect for that one night stay before heading to the airport. No need to hurry since you are only about 5 minutes away. Læs mere

Awful and disgusting are the best words to describe this place. We had 2 rooms - the first room's bathtub wouldn't drain, so we were moved to a second room, then he second room's ceiling fan chain completely fell off when we tried to pull it. But at that point it was late and I didn't want to bother moving yet again to a third room, which probably wouldn't […] be any better. This motel is absolutely awful. Everything about it was difficult, the service was subpar (which exception to Stephenie, who is the one saving grace of this craphole), and the rooms are smelly, ugly, old, and dirty. The security guard is a real jerk, and the rooms are all disgusting. Thankfully, this was only my last stop after 6 blissful nights in Maui at Kaanapali and in Hana, so this was just the easiest thing to do for an early flight back home (distance from motel to airport is short). Otherwise, I would never have considered this place, and I feel sorry for anyone who stays/stayed here for the duration of their vacation thinking this is what Maui has to offer. Læs mere
