Pool freezing not swimable. hot tub no water. heat did not work in room. Door would not latch to close door when away. nice newer looking hotel. they just dont fix whats broke...

The Airport Inn was a good place to stay for the amount I wanted to spend. They first assigned me to a room that hadn't been made up, but quickly remedied the problem. I have no complaints except for that. I got what I expected, and a little more.

This was OK for a quick cheap one-night stay. However, the room had a bad odor (like there had been smokers in it).

Fikrst room had TV that didn't work under any circumstances, and light switches that didn't work even when we tried different lifht bulbs. Second room was OK as a room and bed with TV. Both rooms were poorly laid out, with lighting so dim that I could not see in the "kitchen" area, or on any of the tables in the room until I moved them under a lamp. Deck […] did best to help me in the hotel and with maps and directions to town, but their efforts were futile inside bvecause of the mainentance. Good location. Too bad. Læs mere

this hotel was pretty bad, first we walked in and the receptionist was very rude, then the first room we got the phone or the heat didnt work, the whirl pool was closed and drained, they changed our room and it smelled like cat urine. there was hair still in bathtub. then the continetal breakfast was a joke. the wifi was very hard to connect to from […] our room. the beds were very hard. GOOD LOCATION, IT NEEDS TO BE CARE FOR; TOLD THE RECEPTIONIST THAT THE WHIRLPOOL NEED SOME CLEANING IT WAS ABOUT 5PM, BUT NOTHING CAME OF IT. SOME OTHER DETAILS NOT WORTH MENTIONING.

Each of the four times I have stayed at the Airport Inn and Suites the property has been in top-notch condition. The rooms are quiet and spacious. I often arrive by Amtrak (always late) and take a cab from the terminal to this hotel. The short, safe walk to the airport makes picking up a rental car easy. this hotel has recently changed ownership. I talked to new owners. They said the old owners had let the hotel run down and they are in the process of remodeling and plan to make some changes to the facilities. they are redoing all the rooms one floor at a time. Will become a Lachinta when done.

Close to airport, clean and very reasonable.

first room had no heat---desk clerk could not get wall thermostat to turn heat on---in the second room the wall heater thermostat was part of the unit but the settings were "hand written around the dial" yes, hand written!! and they did not correspond correctly to the dial or the dial did not work right--it was either too hot or too cold!!! the ceiling […] fan in the bathroom was falling out and made a huge noise when turned on-------there was hair and dirt under the mattress!!!! Hotel hot tub had all kinds of hair floating and sediment at bottom. Had to clean filter basket myself. Staff claimed it passed inspection 1 day prior, yet hot tub was luke warm. Tiles missing in pool area, controls for temperature falling off walls. Hotel smelled like smoke. Had to go ask for towels a couple of times. Got locked out of the rear door […] because card lock did not work. No maintenance on duty or call. No manager on duty in the middle of the day. First thing in the morning for comp breakfast empty milk jug and they said they had no more,no sugar out and was asked if I could go to the storage room to get some. The stool was broke and I couldn't reach sugar. Light Bulbs were missing in room. Last but not least the desk clerk mentioned she thought this hotel sucked and "hates this place". Læs mere

Our room was clean & the staff was friendly & very helpful. I can't say that if it was going to be an extended stay that it would be the hotel I chose, but we were only there for 1 night for a funeral. The pool could have been wamer, but it was clean. The hottub also could have been warmer & it wasn't working, but it was comfortable to just relax in. […] You do get what you pay for so the continental breakfast was very basic. My experience at the Airport Inn and Suites was horrible. The heat in my room didn't work, there was urine in my toilet and there were flys in my room, I will never stay at this hotel again!

I have never stayed in such a filthy hotel. The walls were dirty...possibly with blood. The inside of the bathroom door had dirty hand prints on it. The fabric on the sofa had some white substance all over the arm. The blinds were torn and the wallpaper was falling off the wall. Furniture had large chunks out of it. Advertised wi-fi is "spotty so you […] can't really connect" and the disgusting bedspreads are certainly not the down comforters they claim. We had to request clean sheets and change the bedding ourselves. Too bad if the TV remote does not have batteries...because they are in a locked drawer at the front desk. The hallways smell of cigarette smoke and the staff is not at all surprised that you found the hotel in such a condition. I was not brave enough to even look at the complimentary breakfast. Our bathroom lights did not work, nor did the hairdryer. There was no bulb in one of the standing lights and the bed was very soft. The Front Desk attendancewas trying very hard, in spite of experiencing problems that might be beyond anyone's ability to address at the present time, but we cannot in honesty give you a favorable rating. We did not get the room/suite on our confirmation. Hotel manager away and no one in charge. Hotel does not supply coffee in room, no radio, ice machine on 1st floor, we were on second. Elevator not working entire time we were there. Spouse has trouble breathing/walking up stiars so this is not good. Next day room was not cleaned nor beds made. Reserved a room with two queen beds, received a king room. No towels in the room, wall paper falling off wall. Room was suppose to be non-smoking but smelled horribly of smoke.

Help is lazy, maintenance is not their strong suit, rooms either are noisy or smell like smokers.

The wallpaper in the room was falling off the walls. The heat could not be controlled in the room. I asked at the desk and she turned up the heat, but my room was never warmer that 65 degrees. The fitness room had NO equipment and the hot tub wasn't clean. This was the only hotel in S. I walked up to the desk, and after ignoring me for a few minutes, the lady asked how she could help me. I told her I was there to check in, and her response was, "Nothing vacant." Very friendly! I then explained that I had already reserved the room, and, although quite the effort, she checked me into the room (after confusing my 5-night reservation […] with a 1-night reservation). Now, the room: DISGUSTING!!! I first saw a jacuzzi tub - yay, right? No. The water jets were so brown and caked with funk that I wouldn't DARE get in that tub. The bathroom was just gross. The curtains that blocked the window were translucent, so you could see everything going on through them. It was a first floor room, so people in the parking lot could see into the room easily, too. No privacy whatsoever. The bed was like an ancient torture device that was specifically designed to cause lower back pain. The overall condition of the room was terrible. I can't believe I paid what I did - it was no-tell motel quality, and the price should have reflected that. I'm kind of disappointed that Hotels.com steered me so wrong. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that Hotels.com calls it the "Airport Inn & Suites", but the sign says "Tara Airport Inn & Suites" and it is not listed under either name in either of the 2 GPS devices we used (nor was the address). People standing out front when I arrived were telling someone over the phone how hard it was to find the hotel, too, and they looked as frustrated as I was. . . I actually ended up staying at my friend's parents house several nights just to avoid the nastiness that was this hotel. The sad thing is, their couch was more comfortable than the bed that I was paying for. Pretty disgusted with the entire experience. Læs mere

The room was filthy dirty..everyone slept fully clothed, bathroom was gross, stained sheets, stuffing coming out of sofa bed just GROSS

The hotel is outdated. The sheets and towels are very worn. I was glad that I brought my own towels.

this hotel had large rooms which was great. However, it smelled bad and I opened the windows to air the place. also the a/c was very noisy. the soap was so old it fell apart.

We had two rooms in this hotel for two nights to attend the Notra Dame 1st home game. One room the air conditioning wasn't working, the front desk staff was very unfriendly when we inquired about getting it fixed. The rate was very high. For the money we paid in the location we should have had better service. The room smelled like a smoking room. The lamps were missing light bulbs. The outlet in the bathroom did not work so why have a hairdryer there for the guests to use? The screen was torn and flapping th the wind. The rugs are worn, the walls are dirty. The hotel smells of smoke. There were no none smoking rooms available. The staff was disengaged and irritable.

This hotel needs remodeling and better hospitality. We did not have enough towels in our bathroom, nor did another customer because I heard them ask for towels too. The wallpaper border was falling off of the walls. The hallway carpet is sooooo worn out, in spots you can actually see the mat that the fibers are attached to. It's a worn out hotel that is incredibly overpriced.

Service below average in old unkept hotel building. AC was so loud no one (4 in the room) could sleep.

dirty,nasty,smelly just not fit to stay in at all. poor place to stay. I would not tell anybody about this hotel.But how dirty,nasty,smellyand not clean it was.

I stayed at this hotel in the middle of a cross country road trip so we didn't arrive until about 3:30 in the morning and were completely exhausted. The rooms condition was pretty decent when entering, but we soon discovered that about half the room didn't have working electricity and therefore none of the lights by the beds worked and the air conditioning […] (which we really wanted that night) also did not work. We had to sleep with the window open so the room didn't overheat and get stuffy so all night I was woken by the extremely loud sound of airplanes. This hotel is not just near the South Bend airport, it is directly next to it in the worst way. I wouldn't suggest this hotel to anyone. Læs mere

After reading some of the reviews about this hotel after I booked it, I was afraid of what I had gotten us into. However, the hotel was clean, the pool seemed to be nice although we got there too late to use it and left before it was open. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. This place was very dirty - floors, baths, hallways. It was also well worn. They told us new management is remodeling soon........not soon enough.
