Hotellet virker lidt slidt i kanterne, men skal tilsyneldande moderniseres efteråret 2011. Det ligger et godt sted i forhold til alt på Manhatten - virker lidt dyrt, men det har nok med beliggenhed at gøre.

Hotellet ligger i gåafstand fra Central Park og Time Square. God og venlig atmosfære, fin service. Værelser og badeværelser er små til prisen. Ingen køleskab på værelserne. Men alt i alt i godt valg.

Ligger 200M fra Subway'en der kommer direkte fra JFK. 10-15 min. gang til Central Park.

Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel er et super lækkert hotel, som ligger perfekt hvis man vil bo tæt på 5th ave, central park og diverse "hippe" museer (f.eks metropolitan museum of art). Endvidere er hotellet beliggende i et område med de gode restauranter (ikke times squares turistfælder), jeg kan bl.a. anbefale en morgenmads restauranten, som hedder "Rafaels", […] og trendy middagsrestaurant der hedder "Tao". Egentligt et ok hotel. Placering rigtig god, med let adgang til mange sevaerdigheder og Subway. Vi fik et vaerelse paa 3 etage og der var en del stoej fra omkringliggende udsugninger og airconditions. Bestilt et tilbud incl. morgenmad, men tips skulle betales og blev trukket af hotellet. Det er ikke hvad jeg forstaar ved drikkepenge. Desuden skulle […] vi koebe adgang til pc, hvilket var den eneste gang paa en 3 ugers rundrejse i USA med ca. 15 hotelbesoeg. Læs mere

Jeg har boet her mange gange. Det er en fantastisk beliggenhed! Ved dette besøg lugtede værelset dog af kropslugt, og ventilationsluften lugtede af cigaretter, selv om det var et røgfrit værelse. (Jeg ved ikke, om det skyldes personalet, som gør rent på værelserne eller noget andet.) Jeg flyttede til et nyt værelse uden besvær fra lederen, men det […] næste rum var kun en smule bedre. Vi havde absolut ingen klager, vi elskede vores værelse og personalet var fantastisk. Alt var rent, lagnerne var pressede, hvid og sprøde. Ville bo der igen og vil anbefale det.

I de sidste ti år har jeg transporteret high school børn rundt i NYC ...... nej, jeg er ikke skør. Har boet her én gang før .... meget rimelig og meget god forplejning. Denne gang var der lidt forvirring da jeg ankom, angående de sammenklappelige senge som var blevet lovet af Hotel.com. I løbet af 5 minutter, fandt receptionen og lederen en god løsning. […] Kudos til dem. Og der er en stor delikatesse kun en blok væk, på THIRD. Da vi var afsted, var der en eller anden demonstation mod hotellet ... igen, var lederne ved indgangen for at dæmpe enhver bekymring vi måtte have og sørgede for at vi havde det godt og ikke havde nogem problemer under vores ophold. Vi havde et ikke-ryger King værelse. Første nat var der en overvældende lugt og røg, på vores værelse, som kom ind gennem ventilationen på badeværelset. Den næste morgen snakkede vi med receptionen, og de gav os nøglerne til et nyt rum med det samme, uden besvær. Vores andet værelse var perfekt. Der var endda en lille chaiselong, som havde den perfekte […] størrelse for vores 3-årige, at sove på. De gav os ekstra lagner, som vi lagde på chaiselongen, hvorefter vi skubbede den op ved siden af ​​vores seng, så han ikke kunne rulle af. Det fungerede fint.. Meget godt hotel på Manhattan, og du kan komme til Time Square / Empire State i taxa for kun $ 7 - $ 9, alle de store attraktioner findes inden for 2 miles. Jeg fik en god pris for et værelse med en dobbeltseng..Hvis du er i bil, skal du betale $ 55 for parkering, hvilket er lidt mere end de $ 30 det koster på lignende hoteller. Jeg havde svært ved at få rengøringen til at ordne mit værelse. De blev ved med at sige, at den indvendige lås var i brug - selv når jeg var væk fra værelset i flere timer. Jeg blev nødt til at nøjes med de rene håndkæder, som blev bragt op til værelset. Jeg ringede til rengøringsafdelingen for at klage.

Fantastisk personale, praktisk beliggenhed og godt til pengene. Jeg skal bo her igen, på min næste tur til NYC.

Hotellet har en fantastisk beliggenhed - det er tæt på Rockefeller Center og lige i nærheden af en metro station Værelserne er lidt tomme - ingen køleskab, ingen kaffemaskine, ingen strygejern…Hvis du ankommer tidligt, før check-in er muligt, skal du være forberedt på at betale for at få opbevaret din bagage.

The Hotel itself was nice and very clean. The service at Front Desk Reception was not welcoming nor helpful. The rooms were not ready on time and staff did not follow through with call to notify us when it was ready. We were even told that we had not checked in for said room, when in fact a drivers license and credit card were scanned.

good for business and pleasure

This hotel was in a great location within walking distance to great sight seeing and right next to a subway station. There were plenty of great places to eat in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful and on the last day when my daughter was having a little melt down one of the bellmen ran and got her some cookies (which […] were DELICIOUS!). I've stayed here a few time. The staff is always so helpful and warm. Always clean and breakfast buffet is delicious!

The hotel was clean and sleek. The upgrades were in process, but we did not have any disruptions from it during our stay. The room was spacious for a NY hotel. The location was very central with a train 1 minute away. The cons were: 1) the A/C in our room was not working despite turning it down all the way to 55 degrees. since we only stayed for one […] night we did not contact the front desk bc we experienced the A/C (or lack thereof) in the middle of the night. 2) our check in experience was unfortunately lacking in customer service. we came to the consensus that the individual hated her job bc it reflected in her attitude towards us. The hotel has a great location. We went there for a meeting which was at the Hilton, so just a couple of blocks away and also to the upper part of 5Th Avenue for shopping, Central Parc and tourist spots like Trump tower, Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center. For Jazz clubs you have to take either the bus or a cap as they are down to the tip of […] the island. Times Square and the Broadway for shows was in a (European) walking distance. Had we known there would be buzz saws and hammering at 7am we would not have stayed here. Not much sympathy from management.

Over all was good. However, to start your renovation crew at 7:00AM on Saturday was not a good idea!

The Location was perfect, the hotel is going through renovations so everything wasn't perfect but very manageable. No refrigerator or coffee in the room.

The DoubleTree Metropolitan is in the midst of a renovation. From the activity on our floor my guess is that we were one of the first guests in this particular room. The remodel is first-rate and feels much more like a boutique hotel than a corporate place to park a bed. I stayed in five different hotels during my recent East Coast trip and this one […] was easily in the top two. The front desk service was excellent too. Since I also stayed at the DoubleTree Chelsea, I can make a fair comparison, and the Metropolitan comes out far ahead because of its modernity. Læs mere

Newly renovated room, very comfortable and clean. Great desk. Quiet room. Only downside in the shoulder seasons is that the hotel either has heat or a/c depending on the outside temperatures....and you don't get to choose and may not agree with their choice. You can turn it off and you can open the window. The location cannot be beat and the subway […] connections are on the corner or a couple of blocks away. All around, a great option for a business traveler. Fast, easy check in (even late, about 10 pm) with a free delicious, warm cookie. Comfortable bed, nice toiletry products. For my fellow female travelers, there was a hair dryer that actually had enough power to achieve a blow-out (it did overheat halfway through, but it cooled down quickly enough not […] to be a real inconvenience in my morning toilette). And the Duane Reade across the street had a good selection of healthy snacks and drinks for a late night or early morning grab on the way to the office, as well as to pick up forgotten saline solution. Didnt do much in hotel but use it as a place to sleep . Great location clean rooms tight but it's not that tight, New York City awesome location only thing is internets too expensive and slow but it could have been my computer overall would come back and stay

I was in town on business and if your work is in the area, this is a great option. The hotel has a great staff and is clean. You can't beat the price and it is very close to 2nd Ave that has tons of restaurant and bar options. The hotel bar is also very nice to unwind in at the end of the day!

It is hard and will be unfair to rate it accurately as the room I stayed in was still under refurbishing. Only the very basics. One has to ask for bath robe, slipper and even wash clothe. The hotel was nice as far as design and convience to access. However the management at the hotel needs to be completely redone. Management just doesn't care. We got a room came in the first day and the hotel looked nice. They even give you a cookie upon check in. However the problems started after there. First the bathroom door won't lock because the […] door knob and the hole on the door frame were misaligned. Second the power keep going off when you turned on the iron. The whole left side would go out. Then when you called the front desk it took 15 mins to reset the breaker but then they turned off the right side of the room. Called again and they fixed however we had to iron our clothes and then it would turn off again. During this whole show and dance did anyone come to ask if it was fixed. They reset the breaker somewhere on the floor and never asked if everything was ok. Complained to the hotel staff and they were like we will call them again. Then after the fourth time did they offer a room change. They offered to move everything to the new room once it became available. So we went out on the town and came back. Asked the front desk for the new room key and we went to the room. One of our small bags with three shirts were missing. We called they said they would look around, but never found it. However during all this never did manager show their face it was all over the phone. It's a nice hotel but Hilton needs to change the management in this hotel. Læs mere

Overall it was a really nice hotel. The thermostat did not seem to work appropriately and so it was either really hot or really cold, could never get it quite right. Otherwise the staff was super helpful and the location was really convenient.

Would be better if added free wireless in the rooms.

There was no way to adjust the thermostat; we were advised to "open a window" if we wanted cooler air. We had lots of hot water, but no cold water, only slightly cool water. The ice machine contained ice which would have cooled the water, but the ice was covered in debris, probably from the construction. There was no "door hanger" to advise the maid […] to either clean the room or leave it alone; we asked for one but it never appeared. However, the maid figured it out and the room was always cleaned and tidied up. I think that when the contruction is over, things might be better. The new paint and appearance of the room was very attractive. Then a little more attention to detail might be possible. The front desk staff, the concierge, the bellmen, the doormen were all very friendly, prompt, courteous and did their jobs very well. Læs mere

The bed and furnishings were very comfortable. We had an issue with our safe and the staff responded immediately almost before we hung up the phone. We also requested a fan and once again the service was excellent. I would certainly stay there again as well as I would recommend the Doubletree to all of my friends

...if the desk staff was a little friendlier. They acted like they were above answering questions and it was an inconvenience to be bothered. The bellhops on the other had were warm and friendly. For the most part the rooms were clean but the carpets in the rooms and hallways were filthy and looked as though they are never vacuumed. Either that or […] the vacuums themselves are very old and need to be replaced. I asked to change rooms since there were long gray hairs all over the carpet in the room among other things. We were moved at their convenience. Although the girl on the customer service line was very friendly the desk agents was in no hurry to comply. I ended up going down to pick the key up myself. The new room still had "stuff" on the floor but not as much. I probably will never stay there again even thought it is so convenient to everything. Læs mere

Very disappointed with the size of our room. Extremly small, bathroom wasnt very clean. Bed was comfortable. Neither check in or check out was great. We had a differeent lady for both, neither one was very pleasant.
