Travelodge Frederick - Frederick

There was a sani-wrap around a toilet seat covered with urine. There is no way somebody should have overlooked unless blind. The room also had an overpowering smell of disinfectant. Check-in took over 20 minutes because their computers were not working properly. My worst hotel experience in 45 years. Sleeping in my car would have been less icky.

We stayed in this hotel for only six hours. Walkways smelled cigarette. Rooms we ok once we turned on the air conditioner. Breakfast was good. Rates were much cheaper than the neighboring hotels.

This hotel is very convenient to I-70 and any of the local attractions. It is clean and very comfortable. A good value for a moderately priced room.

For what it is, The Travel Lodge served its purpose. The "continental" breakfast is a joke! Othe than that, a fair price for a clean room.

nice place, little distant from food, etc, but fine

I stayed overnight for business and had to work at night so my room, the hotel was quiet to get my work done. It was hard to find the hotel even through GPS, had to drive around Costco to find the entrance. It is not a walking distance to anywhere except Costco. I got a nonsmoking room but the room smelled like cigarette from the surrounding rooms. Some […] of the pillows smelled terrible, so had to find one that did not smell. I work at a function at the Frederick Fairgrounds annually, and this hotel is so convenient for that. The price is right, the rooms are clean, and the locatrion is quiet. I use this hotel often for my travels to other locals nearby that do not have hotels.

perfect location and very clean place to stay and near freeway...

Perfect place for peace n quiet but close enough to the action

The hotel was located right off I-70 on an access road so there was nothing scenic about the location but it only took us a 5 minute drive to reach downtown Frederick, our destination. It was very clean and modern and a great deal.

I needed to be in downtown Frederick on business. this hotel is very close to downtown. Hotel staff was very helpful.

Halls smelled of smoke, but room was fine and the people at desk were great.

The entire hotel and our room reeked of cigarette smoke even though all the rooms had no smoking signs on them. The place was clean and the beds comfortable. For some reason our room had a Zenith t.v. remote which didn't work with the Sony t.v. Why that has never been taken care of is probably due to the lack of concern that the person working the desk […] has. Both desk people we came in contact with seemed more concerned with the t.v. shows they were watching or the smoke they needed to have outside. It's hard to answer the phone when you are smoking outside the door. Basically the room was clean, the price was right. If you don't mind the smell of smoke and you don't plan on spending any time there, then it's fine. Otherwise I'd stay somewhere else. Læs mere

Not many amenities, Older building, inexpensive rate

Hotel is in good shape and the room was clean, but then we looked at the bed and could mot believe it. No spread, sloppily made and rhe pillows were so flat and hard, they were unusable.

The only thing I liked was location to down town. It was old and smelly. Not at all a place to stay for any great length of time.

The location was easy enough to reach... Upon walking into the given room, we were greeted with a strange smell... We thought maybe it was because the heat was off, then as we turned on the heat, the motor noise was so loud, we had to turn it off! Then we turned on the exhause fan in the bathroom and sprayed some cologne I had with me. As I put my head […] down to uncover the bedspread, I noticed it was dirty and had the stench of a dirty socks! Then, the top sheet was so worn and old, one could see through - I took photos! My room was infested with bed bugs. I have been bitten by them before so i am not just guessing. I was bitten from head to toe. Next time i'll shell out the extra 30 bucks to stay at a decent hotel.

room was clean, staff helpful. Easy access to Interstate 70 and downtown. Need to upgrade TVs and mattresses.

Hotel was convenient, right next to Costco and just off freeway. Restaurants were close and everything was quiet. Contiental breakfast, complimentary internet. Very statisfactory.

This hotel was clean with a nice staff, but the AC was horrible. We checked in and turned the AC on high and left for 2 hours only to find the room still scalding after we returned. Luckily, we had a fan with us and that helped a bit. The elevator was unusable because of the stiffling heat. Breakfast was nice the next morning with fresh fruit and waffles […] and pancakes. Hotel provided the best rate in town. No frills but room was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet. It was easy to find, near the Interstate and a short drive to the downtown area. Staff was friendly. Parking is in short supply. No scenic view except for the backside of a COSTCO. Wasn't a problem for us since we didn't come to look out the window […] and got the last parking spot. Overall a good value. Læs mere

Because of expansion and renaming of the street no GPS can get you to their location. House keeping never showed up on the one day they could to bring new towels and tidy bed. We had a 3 night stay. Desk personal were nice and helpful however. Not enough parking spaces.

A good place to stay when you are only looking for a place to stay at night. We were gone during the day. Getting into the hotel from the interstate was confusing and not clearly marked which road to take. Front desk was not friendly and even borderline rude when asked about getting some printed copies off the hotel computer. Continental breakfast was […] bare minimum. Cereal, buns, mini-bagels, and english muffins, juice, milk, coffee, couple pieces of fruit. Parking was bad. No entrance from the back parking lot. Had to walk all the way around front to get in. Not enough luggage carriers/rollouts to go around. Bedding was old. Had to ask for blanket to be replaced as it had seen better days. Housekeeping were friendly and helpful even tho twice they left their cleaning supplies and dirty cleaning rags in our bathroom. I guess you get what you pay for. Læs mere

Hotel was clean, allowed dogs, was located conveniently near many restaurants. Seems like the kind of hotel used often by traveling salesmen. We were in town for a family event and it was perfect for what we needed. I didn't have any high expectations, but for a quick stay, it was just perfect.

Decent place. Staff was a little slow at check in and out, but overall nice folks. Rooms are good with all basic amenities. This is about the closest hotel to downtown (about a mile). We drove in and parked near the city visitor center and then walked the city, which was very convenient. Frederick is such a great downtown area, especially in the summer […] and on First Saturday when the shops stay open late and street bands are all over. It is odd that they do not have a hotel in the downtown area. We chose this place for location, and would recommend it for others based primarily on that factor and the very reasonable price. Need to look at the breakfast offerings...some of the items (English muffins, etc) had mold. However, the staff people were very friendly and accommodating.

This hotel is very old and outdated.

I've stayed at this motel several times and have always given it a great review, but it didn't work out as planned this time. 1) I got placed in a smoking room, of which I also request a non-smoking when I booked the reservation. When I asked to be moved or have the room cleaned with a "Ionizer machine", I was told that they would move me to another […] non smoking room. After repacking to be moved, I was then told that they now don't have a non-smoking room available, but that they would have my room "Ionized". I did letave for some four hrs, but I don't believe that the room was ever cleaned with the Ionizer and still smelled of smoke. Læs mere

If you need a place to crash in Frederick this one is fine. The only real complaint I had is the air freshener they spray in the room. It gave me a sinus issue. But the hotel was clean. The staff isn't overly friendly but not rude either. It was quiet other than an occasion truck pulling in. The view is of the back of the costco next door but we were […] just sleeping there. The price is great so if you want a clean place for cheap this is your spot. Their really isnt a surrounding neighborhood you have a costco on one side and a highway on the other. Læs mere

Nothing fancy just a clean comfortable room at a cheap price. The guy at the front counter was professional but not overly friendly. He wasn't rude just all business. Room was clean and comfortable and everything worked fine. I did smell fresh cigarette smoke some during the night even thought we were surrounded by non smoking rooms but it wasn't too […] strong. There is nothing within walking distance but walmart and gas station are within a mile. It is right off the highway and easy to get to although GPS will not pick up the street for it yet. You can find it by putting in the cross streets off a map though. Would definitely stay here again if i was in the area. Læs mere

The room was nice. It was close the area the we need to be in. The front desk staff could be a little friendlier(doesn't hurt to smile and be courteous). Only needed it for one night, so it worked out fine for us.

This hotel was perfect for me. It was ~2 miles from the start line of the Frederick Running Festival half marathon. I actually walked/jogged to the start line. I would stay here again.

I had to get up at 6AM both days I was there because there was road construction in front of the hotel. If I did not get up before the construction styarted I couyld not get on the road. This was a mess both days. I could not get breakfast in the hotel because breakfast started at 7 AM. No one bothered to notify me about this problem and I had my reservations […] months in advance. I do not know if it was the cleaning substances or if it was because the room had been recently renovated but ,both my wife and I experienced headaches while in the room and they went away while we were out. I also got a nosebleed in the middle of the night.
