Holiday Inn Express St. Charles - St. Charles

My friend & I randomly chose this hotel, and the reviews were on par (so there were no surprises). The staff was really friendly, the continental breakfast selection was rather huge (with a multitude of healthy choices). The room was fairly clean, except the toilet and bathroom should of been scrubbed down more, there were ants in the bathroom (moisture […] ants, someone told us), and there was mould on the ceiling. The beds were SO comfortable to sleep in, with really comfortable pillows. The hotel was great about getting us a taxi service when we required one, and it was pretty quiet within. Læs mere

We enjoyed our night away at the Holiday Inn Express in St. Charles. We did dinner and entertainment at nearby establishments and the hotel was in a very convenient location. The room was clean, the location was quiet, the breakfast left a little to be desired but would have been acceptable if you knew it was a glorified continental breakfast. (warm […] items tasted like they were from a can or carton, not homemade). Otherwise great experience. I would recomend staying there to anyone, just go out for breakfast unless your eating on the run. Læs mere

Celebrated my husband's 50th birthday and all the plans I made went so well. Thanks to all the courteous staff and a nice breakfast ending to our weekend , I left with a very content & happy husband.

Great breakfast; staff was very helpful and friendly; close to mall and restaurants.

Hotel room/bed was comfortable. I stay here often just for the hot breakfast that is included. The hotel needs a lot of maintence in the rooms. The water in the toilet was running all night long and did not stop, I had to go and open it up and fix it myself. I told the manager on duty and nothing was done. Not even an appology. My family lives in and around St. Charles, so this was a convenient location to spend the night. It was not particularly close to anything exciting or fun to do, but it was a very nice room for the three nights we spent there. The complimentary hotel breakfast was really nice compared to other breakfasts I've seen. We actually ate there all three mornings […] and were happy with the selection. Læs mere

Although the hotel was well located to all of our activities and had a good appearance from the outside, our room had ants in the bathroom that seemed to nest under the ceramic tile. The walk-in bath tub had mold and mildew around the door frame. The tub was clean until the door was opened, then the dirt was exposed. We appreciated the hotel and the […] complimentary breakfast and newspaper every morning. The hotel employees were polite,pleasant and helpful. Nice stay, no complaints other than the pressure of the water in the shower seemed low. Breakfast is always the same everytime I stay there and it is delicious.

This hotel was very comfortable, the room clean, the service at the front desk very hospitable. The price was reasonable and the free wireless internet was easy to use. I slept well and it was quiet. Unfortunately the entire wing that our room was located in smelled strongly of mildew and mustiness. If not for that, I would have rated this hotel 5  […] stars. Læs mere

This hotel was very accomodating. We needed a room that allowed smoking. Upon arrival to the original room, the bathroom was a mess ~ toilet overflowed. We were offered a new room without hesitancy. Even though the room we were given was slightly different than what we wanted, it all worked out very well. The staff and cleaning crew were very polite […] and helpful. The hotel room it self was good. The bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom needed to be cleanded at least once more before I arrived. Mentioned it to the staff up front but they told me I would have to wait till the morning as no one was around. Breakfast was delicioius however the walk from my room to the main lobby was not enjoyable as I was on […] the other side of the hotel. There was a lot of noise in the hallway all night, went out and had to tell the others to keep it down. Once again, whoever was working was not in any concern to come take care of the noise. My second visit. I will be back.

This hotel, while an older facility, has impeccably neat rooms. It is only a mile away from a Wal-Mart and Chili's restaurant. While a little distance from Chicago, it is well worth the drive. They have a great continental breakfast. We would definitely stay here again when we visit Chicago.

We spent a single night at this hotel because it was convenient to the ballparks where our son was playing ball. The hotel was nice; wonderful breakfast. clean lobby, the boys had a great time in the pool. Our only complaint was that our room felt damp and smelled musty. There are no elevators at this hotel for those who may be disabled. The breakfast was great! The location is equally good.

This was a very nice motel... with a good breakfast. Clean, friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

I would have to say they need to invest some money in renovating the hotel rooms. You can tell this is an older hotel. The bath room needs to be upgraded. Poor quality from the last remodel. Hvac unit needs to be upgraded. Room had a stale smell and was damp. The bedding was not clean. Looks like they never changed the bedding from the last people […] who stayed in this room. Læs mere

Most Holiday Inn express are newer facilities this one was older little more run down than expected but still ok. Awesome neighborhood and close to stores restaurants and gas stations. Breakfast always good at holiday inn expresses

the room was clean and very relaxing. I had a great time. the hotel itself wasn't hard to find and there is plenty of places to dine nearby.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast had a great variety and very good. It varied from day to day, and was the best compared to all the other hotels we have stayed in. It was clean and always well stocked. Great location - close to restaurants and shopping.

Great location with plenty of eateries around. Very quiet as it is set back from the main road. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Bedding was not the standard cheezy bedspread, but a comforter with a sheet over it. I definately will return here!
