"Comfortable room"
Very friendly staff, quiet hotel, near to many coastal attractions. Room was surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast has many choices. If I had any complaint, it would be to make sure that you get to breakfast earlier than later as the staff seemed to have a difficult time keeping up with demand later in the mornings.

The hotel was nice. The only complaint I have is that Hotels.com told me there was an elevator. I had requested that our two rooms be downstairs because my mom would have a hard time navigating stairs. When they told me there was an elevator I said it didn't matter then. When we checked in and asked where the elevator was we were told there wasn't one […] and so my 81 year old mother with bad knees had to navigate the stairs for our two night stay. Læs mere

We decided to take the coastal route on our way back from Central California back to Washington State and along the way tour the Redwoods via the Avenue of Giants. Fortuna is conveniently located just north of there and just south of the Hwy 199 route back to Grants Pass and I-5 for the return trip. "This is a Great Road Trip Hotel"
Room was typical but had all the things a person would need on a road trip. There is a pool and a jacuzzi if you stay a little longer. The breakfast supplied by the hotel was pretty darn good. So this hotel is a good place to stay if you just need a room and are on a budget. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This property is in "hotel row". Two yummy restaurants in walkng distance, great pool and hot tub. Room was clean and large, and beds were super comfortable.

For the price and an overnight stop, it was great. The best part is its location right next to the Eel River Brewing Co. Great food and beer!

We chose this hotel because we were traveling to the Eureka/Arcata area with our dog, the rates were great, and it's two doors down from the Eel River Brewery. We were delighted to discover that it is immaculately clean, the plumbing works wonderfully (great shower), there is a hot breakfast included, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and […] the indoor pool and whirlpool are lovely (great for kids!). The windows in the room open, which I love, and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. "Best MOTEL but NOT a Hotel. Stairs, no elevator"
Not at all up to the quality of most Holiday Inns or Holiday Inn Expresses. This is a MOTEL, not a HOTEL. The rooms have doors all facing the outside of the building and there is no elevator. You must climb two sets of stairs. This place is decent/adequate for the price but not anything at all good/great/nice. There is no "ooh" or "wow" factor. Given […] the motel experience is yuk, this hotel does the best they can given the building circumstances. Great customer service from Garrett and friendly cleaning girls. The place is as clean as can be. So this is the best motel you can find. Problem is, it's a motel and motels always bring a bit of yuk, in my opinion. Best motel, but still a motel. Heating is those noisy in the wall heaters that all motels have. They do have a fridge and microwave and free internet. BIG plus. The sink and mirror are in the main room. This hotel is an excellent place to stay when traveling. It's comfortable, good service, cheaper than the other hotels and VERY clean. It also has a really good breakfast. Needed a stopover on the way to Oregon from California and this worked out well, especially for the price. The beds and pillows were good, the room was clean. There were a couple of odd things (the light over the bed didn't work) but we mentioned it to the staff and they seemed like they would get it fixed asap). Staff was friendly and cooperative. This was a great deal. The hotel isn't anything fancy, but it is in a great location to visit the Redwoods.

Great room, very comfortable beds and pillows. The kids loved the indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Free breakfast in the morning was wonderful and enough variety that everyone was happy. The staff was very friendly, even when we pulled in at 11:00pm! I would certainly stay again. Proximity to Redwoods and Humboldt made this hotel a winner.

The hotel is situated just off highway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. After being placed in a disabled room we were moved without problem. Comfortable bed and great shower. Nice and quiet and would stay there again.
This was the best place we have booked on-line. We will make this a stop on future travels to Oregon. Clean/comfortable room, breakfast......everything exceeded our expectations.

"decent, affordable, and great staff"
The staff at this Holiday Inn Express were very nice and always helpful. They made sure that we felt well taken care of during our Christmas vacation. They were always happy, smiling, and even called one morning to see if we wanted to have our room cleaned (all the other mornings we were out so they did it anyway). They free breakfast was surprisingly […] diverse, and offered options we've never seen at other hotels that include breakfast. There were even plenty of options for us, being vegetarian. The coffee was decent, which is hardly ever the case at other hotels. The hotel rooms were a bit harder to get to, since the parking lot was only on one side of the building. The texture on the concrete hallways amplified the sound of rolling suitcases, so that part was a bit loud, but for the most part it was a quiet and pleasant stay. For the price, location, and amenities, we really have no big complaints and would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Fortuna! Læs mere

It was total value for money, esp after the nightmare of a hotel we stayed at the previous night! Does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but, what I got was what I expected to get. "Holiday Inn Express, What a refreshing stay"
Nice size rooms, Beds were good. Breakfast was way better than expected. Several hot items and a good selection of cold items. Indoor heated pool was a hit with the kids. Nice home base for the Redwoods and the coast. I would stay here again.

"PET FRIENDLY"
1st time bringing dog. Great experience, grass area right outside door and stone's throw away from walking area beside Eel River. Food at The River restaurant, also right next door, was very good too. Would definitely return to Holiday Inn Express because of this trip.
