Et godt hotel med en god placering. Værelserne er rummelige, der bliver gjort rent hver dag og skiftet sengetøj samt håndklæder. Der er et stort udvalg til morgenmad (morgenmadbuffet) og generelt en god service. Metroen er tæt på - så der er ingen grund til at tage taxa. Et sted, som jeg kunne finde på at vende tilbage til.

Ekstremt megen støj og udstødning fra gaden og dårlig vedligeholdelse af værelset samt en ubehagelig overraskelse i form af en regning på 45 euro ved afrejsen (de sagde, at det var en ny by-skat på 3 euro pr. person pr. døgn) kom til at præge besøget. Jeg kan anbefale, at man kun booker et eller to døgn og bruger de første dage på at finde et alternativ […] et andet sted i byen. Hotellet var faktisk i orden, men levede efter vores mening, ikke op til 4 stjerner. Vi fik et værelse uden vinduer. -Der var godt nok to aflange vinduer oppe under loftet, som kunne åbnes en smule, men man havde stadig INGEN fornemmelse af om det var nat eller dag, da der yderligere stod blomsterkasser foran vinduerne. Det havde været rart at vide […] på forhånd, inden man bookede et værelse der. Desuden var sengens madrasser MEGET hårde. -Italien laver jo som bekendt verdens bedste kaffe, så vi fik mildest talt et chock da vi smagte en virkelig dårlig termokande-kaffe, der var sat frem til morgenmads buffeten. Vi opdagege dog den sidste morgen vi var der, at andre gæster bad om en cappucino, -så det benyttede vi os også af. Iøvrigt elsker vi italiensk ost, og blev rimelig skuffet da den eneste type ost der var ved morgen buffeten, var små tern af en slags Emmenthaler. Ellers en stor og i orden morgen buffet. En anden lille detalje var, at et glas øl i baren blev serveret i lune glas, lige fra opvaskemaskinen. -De måtte godt have været iskolde. Det var ikke ting som ødelagde vores ferie, men detajler som man nok burde tage op til overvejelse hvis hotellet skal fremstå mere eller mindre luksuriøst. Som sagt et pænt hotel, -men næsten FOR pænt da man følte sig temmelig anonym og havde fornemmelsen af at gæsterne bare skulle "tjekkes ind og tjekkes ud" og serviceres ind imellem, med en nærmest kunstig og indstuderet venlighed. Rengøringen var dog helt i top og sagde som de eneste godmorgen, når man mødte dem på gangen. Iøvrigt også ærgerligt at den store skønne terrasse ud for 2. etage ikke måtte bruges. Hotellet ligger utrolig centralt med kun få minutters gang til Colosseum og Forum Romanum i den ene retning og Via Nazionale i den anden retning. Mange hyggelige restauranter i kvarteret og prisniveauet er rimeligt. Hotellet er absolut ok, med god service, engelsktalende personale, glimrende værelser med en høj standard i den daglige rengøring, internetforbindelse […] på værelserne og mulighed for anvendelse af computer og printer i foyer. Vi havde sat meget lave forventninger til morgenmaden, men blev positivt overrasket, idet buffeten indeholdt alt fra frugt, til frisk pålæg og varme røræg. Kvalitet for pengene, ikke højt flyvende men godt og solidt og receptionen taler fint engelsk

Fint hotel uden at være prangende,. Fin og venlig betjening. God morgenmad, mangler dog frisk frugt. Overalt pænt og rent. Det bedste er dog hotellet beliggenhed tæt på colosseum med mange spisesteder til rimelige penge i området

Hotel was clean, staff was helpful. Rooms were on the smaller side. The bathrooms were not laid out well at all - very cramped. The air conditioning for the room was off, even though the outside temperatures were 85' + F. When we inquired at the front desk, they told us it was not warm enough to turn the air conditioning on. Hotel location was perfect,rooms were kept clean and the staff were excellent

We stayed 4 nights off season. It waseasy to find, close to Cavour metro stop from Roma train station.The hotel staff was not extremely helpful or friendly and there was always a wait just to talk to staff even when no other guests were at the counter. The hotel website and hotels.com showed this hotel to be renovated. Our room was not renovated, decor […] was extremely dated and small for the price. The room was hot and though AC was on it never kicked in and only opening the window helped. But our room faced the back street where local bars are and the noise was atrocious, When the window was closed noise was barely audible, aside from the renovation construction noise apparently going on in the room below us, we were not warned about nor compensated for. The hotel claims to have wifi but did not publish a fee for 5 euros each day incl lobby computer use, overpriced especially since you had to enter the user name and passcode every time you logged in, which became cumbersome and annoying. The continental breakfast was one of the best. We did dine in The hotel restaurant and found it overpriced, but of good quality. The location was perfect walking distance to all the main tourist attractions, incl 10 min walk to the Colosseum. Overall this was not one of the best we stayed at but at a good location. Læs mere

Room was clean, shower had great water pressure, staff was friendly enough, and the location was great. My complaints rest with a super firm mattress, and my wife had to buy ear plugs from the very noisy street.

It was very nice. The hotel service was very good. Lots of choices for breakfast. The location was perfect. My only disappointment was the room. The walls were really scratched up. It really made the room look cheap.

We enjoyed our stay and staff were very obliging. The hotel is walking distance to Metro (cost only 4 euros for a day pass) therefore we were able to travel far within short time. Only downside is the hotel breakfast, where there is no toasting facilities and they could improve on providing better standard of breakfast. This hotel was well located - close to the Colosseum, very handy to a metro station, and walking distance from the train station. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was excellent. We found it very comfortable.

Very well located hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Would certainly recommend it to friends. Breakfast too was good.

+ Location right next to Colosseum and the closest metro station is great! + Staff is friendly and helpful. + Breakfast is good. - The traffic noise from via Cavour is constant and loud. If possible, get a room from the other side.

The hotel is nice, but they must tell before arivall that the air condition is not working. How come that in 2nd April, there's no A.C ????

We stayed at the Grand for a total of nine days during March, 2012. It's a pretty good location. We walked everywhere including the Vatican which was a little over two miles away from the hotel. Of course, the Colosseum and the Roman ruins are just about a 1/4 of a mile away. I found the vast majority of the front desk staff very helpful in aiding us […] get around Rome. The rest of the staff was very pleasant. I liked the staff and allowed me to give the hotel a pretty good rating. Our room was clean but dated. The king size bed consisted of two single beds being joined together. We could feel the crack between the beds. The bathroom had been redone recently but the hair blow dryer is old and the shower is configured so that you have to stand in the narrow part of the bath tub rather than taking advantage of the full length of the tub. The AC only worked from 7 to 10pm and also for a few hours in the morning. Also, the AC did not appear to be very powerful. I assume that the operating time and power changes for the better during summer! Breakfast was pretty good but got boring after a few days. It was the same food every day. There are two rooms for breakfast. One large for groups and a small one for businessmen and individuals traveling by themselves. I liked the small breakfast room better. Even though the room has two new windows, you can still hear traffic even on the fifth floor. I guess it;s the city! Also there are numerous restaurants, gift shops, money changers and grocery stores very close to the hotel. Our room also had a mini refrigerator. The TV did have three English news channels. The TV remote channel changer did not work but channels could be changed by keying in the channel number. In summary, overall pretty good, the staff good, the room so so, breakfast good but boring! Would not rate this hotel a 4-star; nontheless, it's a descent hotel. Most of the staff were nice, and were open to questions. My husband and I walked to all attractions (within 1.5hrs), which I would recommend. The city in itself is an attraction, so walking is the best way to get around. Just make sure you bring or invest in some comfortable shoes. […] I took boots, and as you may guess, I did not wear them beyond the second day! Also, don't forget to purchase an adapter for the outlets, they are quiet expensive over there. Last, don't expect free wi-fi or internet access. Their prices are ridicoulous. You are looking at paying a months worth rate, for only using a couple of hours, if that. Anyhow, I would stay there again. Enjoy your vacation and be safe! Læs mere

Stayed four nights at the hotel, really satisfied with the overall service of the hotel. People at the receptions are really friendly and helpful. Location is really really good, just around mins walk to Colosseum. You can even see the colosseum if you walk at the corner of the street. Also just 3 mins walk to Cavour Metro. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and the included breakfast buffet (with made to order cappuccino) was a great start to a day of touring. The hotel is one block from the Cavour metro station and three blocks from the Colosseum metro station. We had a 10 minutes walk to the Colosseum and the Forum ruins from is hotel. There was an ATM right down the block as well as several pizza-type quick restaurants close by. If you come to Rome by train, this hotel is also very close to the main train station. They have a very nice breakfast buffet as well. The room we were given in this hotel was ok. There were three of us, and there was plenty room for all of us plus luggage. Although none of need the facilities, it was a disabled room, and very well equipped for that purpose. I think it was one of the classic rooms which means pre-refurbishment, and was bit 'tired'. The hotel is being refurbished at […] the moment and the noise in our room was horrific. It started very early in the morning and went on till quite late into the evening. We tried to ignore it but it seemed as if they were drilling into the walls, and as it turned out, they were working directly above us. I understand there will be noise with a refurbishment project but it shouldn't encroach into sleeping time. The hotel staff were very polite, but only made an effort to help when we complained about the noise for a second time. They showed us a different room but it was just as noisy, so we just stayed where we were. We were a party of 6 found location of hotel was very central and within walking distance of many attractions Reception helpfull and friendly also recommending suitable restaurants. Would certainly stay at the Palatino should we return to Rome.

The hotel rooms are being refurbrished something that is needed as our room was quite shabby but no complaints as it was clean.

Great location. Very near to Coliseum. Adjacent Metro station. Staff very helpful and speaks english fluently. Breakfast buffet was good. The room was capacious and well organized. Highly recommended for tourists and families.

We stayed in 4 different hotels in Rome. The Grand Hotel Palantino was by far the best. Extremely nice and helpful staff, great location and air conditioning that worked!! And within walking distance of the Termini train station. There was a mini bar in the room, which we used to chill our own beverages. This hotel was much more like an American hotel […] than a European hotel, the room was more spacious and nicely decorated. Not worn looking. If I go back to Rome, I will stay here. We (family of 3, staying a week) were very satisfied with the hotel. Even though the internet cost, we were very pleased -- you paid for the time used (you buy a block of 1 or 3 or 6 or 12 hours, and log on as needed). The location is a dream, and the room very comfortable, with good air conditioning. There's a city tax that needs to be paid on top […] of the room cost (a few euro/person, collected at the end of the stay). good hearty breakfasts included -- eggs, meat, cheese, cereal. In addition to Touristy restaurants, there are also some real gems, such as Ristorante Non c'e trippa pe' gatti (via Urbanas 114). Would definitely stay there again. Læs mere

Being my first time in Rome, and not knowing what to expect from a hotel picked up randomly on the internet, I was pleasantly surprised with the great customer service, comfort, great location, and friendly hotel staff. If you want to be at walking distance from Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and other main attractions, the Palatino is a sure bet.

Great location and friendly service. Very convenient to the Colliseum. The only issue was trying to reserve a transfer from the airport to the hotel. We did this through e-mail several days in advance and it was neither acknowledged nor waiting for us. Were able to get another independent transfer at the airport. Great location - just a couple of blocks from the Colosseum and an easy walk to Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Room was updated with "wood-like" vinyl floors so no dirty carpet issues. They use all white linens including the duvet cover so everything gets washed every time - no scary coverlets. Breakfast is included and was well done in two dining […] rooms. The lobby is a little dated, but the rooms have been updated. Only two issues worth mentioning: We reserved a triple and that consisted of three twin beds. Two were pushed together like a double bed, but the mattresses were not connected and constantly rolled away from each other. They even moved during the night because the wheels were on a hard floor. The other issues was the A/C. It could not get the room very cool despite having it checked. Other than that, the room was well appointed, clean and due to a roll down shutter on the window, there was very little if any road noise and the room stayed dark and quiet in the mornings. Front desk personnel all spoke English very well and were helpful. They arranged for a private car/limo for our run to the airport for only a few dollars more than a cab would have cost according to our guide book and it was ready and waiting for us as expected early the next morning. There are also some great restaurant options in the area behind the hotel. We dined with lots of local patrons which is always a good sign. Læs mere

The hotel was very nice - good buffet breakfast, the triple room was more than adequate for my husband, myself and our son. The staff was friendly, and the location was fantastic - walking distance of forum, colloseum, and many other sites.

It was a very pleasant stay... no complaints at all... totally worthy.

Very nice and convenient Hotel. Just around the corner from the Colosseum, a 15 all the sights in Roma.minute walk from the train station. The staff was a little stuffy and not real friendly and the bar/restaurant over priced so we ate at other nice restaurants but overall a very nice hotel to stay at if you want to be able to walk around. Hotel was in a good location just a short walk for the colosseum. Unfortunately on arrival the air conditioning unit in the ceiling was dripping water and despite reporting it to the hotel it was not fixed until the day after. The hotel is rated as four star but I think three star would be more appropriate. Staff were helpful and spoke English.

If you're looking for quality service in Rome, you should keep looking. You won't find it here. Except for the cleaning staff, which is superb...nice ladies who treat you respectfully. The Front Desk staff....well, it's just a shame really, because there's so much potential for this hotel. I give this a hotel a rating of 1 on the www.hotels.com website […] only because there is no zero. The front desk staff has no clue what the word "hospitality" means. On a couple of occasions, they simply refused to get up and help me. One individual just sat there with his feet propped up on the counter and told me to come back in the morning. Also, don't believe what's on their website or in their brochures. When I asked for an adaptor, which their brochure says is readily available at the front desk, they told me to walk down the street for about 15 minutes to an electrical shop. Hmmmm, yeah, that's great service. The hotel is in a good location, very close to the Coloseum, but expect to pay about 40 Euro for the taxi ride from the Fiumicino Airport. Læs mere

We HIGHLY recommend The Grand Hotel Palatino! We have stayed here twice in the last two years. Here's why.... - Location is very central and within walking distance to many attractions/tourist sites and one block to the metro if necessary. - Accommodations are clean and spacious. (Larger than average European size room.) - Staff is extremely professional, […] friendly, and helpful. Also, there is always someone who speaks English on duty at the front desk. The hotel has gone through renovations and we have stayed in both their non-renovated and renovated room. Both styles are comfortable and clean. If you are doing price comparison to other hotels in Rome, you may find their rate may be a bit higher than others. However, it’s worth the few extra Euros (trust us)! We have stayed at other hotels in Rome and The Grand Hotel Palatino receives our highest remarks and exceeds all expectations with customer service!
