Man får hvad man betaler for - nothing more, nothing less. Men til gengæld har Hotel Carter en af de mest perfekte beliggenheder på Manhatten - og selv om man ikke lige synes Times Sq. er det mest charmerende sted i 'The Big Apple' så er der super nemt at komme til og fra med subway'en der ligger lige om hjørnet. Personalet flinke og hjælpsomme - Værelserne er ikke noget at skrive hjem om - små og lidt slidte men dog rene og ganske udemærket til prisen et sted at stille tasken og et seng at sove i - men ikke mere! Men alt i alt ganske godt tilfreds.

Vi var fire piger på en smuttur til New York. Først fik vi et langt og smalt værelse lige ud til jernbanen. Værelset havde kun en lampe, så der var for dunkelt til at sidde og læse, som en af os ellers skulle. Så vi bad om mere lys og fik med det samme et værelse med flere lamper, og værelset viste sig også at være både bredere og ligge længere væk fra jernbanen! Sikke en service :)
Placering.
Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel ligger i hjertet af New York. dette hotel er egnet til forretningsfolk og ligger i gåafstand fra Chrysler Building og Grand Central Terminal. I nærheden er også Rockefeller Center og United Nations Headquarters.

"Skønt Hotel, Men."
Skønt hotel, med dejlige store rene værelser med gode store senge, personalet er rigtig søde og hjælpsomme. beliggenheden er i top med kun få skridt fra metro og grand central station. med god adgang til både jfk og newark lufthavn. kan bestemt anbefales, dog skal man være opmærksom på at hotellet forlanger et depositum ved ankomst.

I stayed at this hotel for one night over the Christmas holiday. It's a very warm and friendly small boutique hotel. The lobby has the feel of a library. My room, furnished in a traditional style, was quite large with a very large bathroom and shower. The location--across the street from Grand Central--can't be beat. Staff were friendly and helpful. "Nice affordable hotel"
Stayed @ the Fitzpatrick Grand Central for a 2 night stay on a weekend...great small hotel that was affordable and close to everything...hotel staff was very courteous and helpful...room was nice, bathroom was nice, really no major complaints at all...the irish pub downstairs was nice also, had an irish coffee there one afternoon and breakfast there […] our last day which was good...only negatives were, one of the elevators was not in service and one of the phones in our room and the little small coffee maker in our room didn't work...which didn't really matter as there was a great french bistro for coffee and pastries 2 or 3 doors down...all in all, a comfortable stay, affordable for a weekend and would def recommend...esp good for theater goers, really short cab ride to the theater to see Lion King, and probably could walk if it wasn't so cold! Stayed 6 nights at Fitzpatricks Grand Central - arrived at 1pm after long flight and it was so good to be able to check in right away - reception staff very helpful, friendly and welcoming- room was spacious with extremely comfortable bed, very clean and we apprecieted the evening visit of house keeping with bottled water and chocolates. Our laptop […] fitted in the safe and nice touch to have an umbrella in the room for the one wet day we had. Only thing missing was a small room fridge - otherwise it was perfect. Comfortable lobby with newspapers and fireplace. Location fantastic - entrance to grand central station just up the street. Thought Wheeltapper pub very expensive for breakfast but there are lots of other local options - lovely fresh market (fruit/breads & cheese) in Grand Central Station Læs mere
"Fitzpatrick at Grand Central"
One of the best hotels that I have every stayed in. It is about half a block from grand central and numerous restaurants and shops. If you're looking for food at any hour there is a pizza place a block away that is 24 hours and cheap. The room was a great size for being in Manhattan and decent price a night. The staff was helpful and always there if […] you need them. We asked for extra towels and received them within 2 minutes. We didn't have a room with a view, but didn't even matter because the room was great. Before you book another room somewhere else, call these guys up and book with them. Found the staff to be cordial and helpful. The interaction between the staff in the registration desk and the restaurant was excellent.

Very pleased with my stay. Room was small, but I didn't need anything bigger. Price was right. Clean, comfortable. Staff was very nice.
"Comfortable place in a good location"
We stayed here for one day and found this place to be nice. They gave us 2 queen beds for no extra charge. This place is next to Grand Central, so we can visit any place in Manhattan by Metro or by walk. Only minor thing, non issue to most people is the bathroom doesn't have exhaust fan.

"Gem in Midtown"
This is a great hotel. Yes, rooms are small, but for Manhattan standards plenty of size. The location is extremely convenient being 1 block from Grand Central and a 6 block walk to Times Square. "Right By Central Station"
Great hotel near Grand Central station, within walking distance to a lot of great areas. Found the hotel very comfortable, but they didn't have a king and put us into a double that was ready. We found it clean and the bathroom very up to date. The check in area was a little strange (2 sit down desks) and the person who attended us could have been a […] little better trained. It was my Granddaughters suprise birthday present and the hotel staff made a real fuss of her even sending a cup cake to our room. Was a great deal on hotels.com. The location was perfect. The price was right. The staff was nice. Rooms aren't huge (come on, this is NYC), but there's more than enough space so that you don't feel like you're in a closet. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
"Fitzpatrick Grand Central - friendly, convenient"
I've stayed at the Fitzpatrick before and always find the personnel just a notch nicer than at many hotels. Facility is clean and well appointed, if not especially luxurious. Two minor negatives this time. First, I checked in around 11. Since room wasn't ready and I was going to return after midnight, I asked if they would put my luggage in the room […] when it was ready. They said they would do so, but when I got there around 1 am they still had to retrieve it from the checkroom. Second, I decided to try the Irish breakfast Sunday morning. We've stayed at mostly Marriotts and Sheratons in Manhattan. So glad that we decided to try something new and that was Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel. Extremely comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly, courteous staff. Much more personalized experience. We will be back.

It was nice to stay at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central again. The modest but charming lobby made us feel quite at home in mid-town Manhattan. The staff was very friendly. We found a problem with the furniture in our room and our bellman quickly moved us to another one. We like being in a smaller hotel and just across the street from Grand Central Station. I stayed overnight in a Deluxe Guest Room. Nice decor. Room was compact - didnt feel tool small or cramped, though. Generous sized bathroom. Robe in bathroom was a nice touch. "Near Grand Central Station"
We had a good stay. Only three problems, 2 big, and one small. There is no computer for guests to use on site. That is very difficult if need to print anything. The concierge gave us BAD directions. He was very nice, but told us the place we were going was about 6 blocks more East. We did not have an address, because he just drew the destination on […] the map. That was frustrating. The only small thing was there was no fridge in the room. We have stayed in like hotels; like the City Club or the Iraquois and they did, so we were expecting that. We had to wait 10 mins and then they finally gave us a room, but upgraded us to a king, which was very nice. All that aside. The number one thing for me in NYC...is cleanliness and no bed bugs. This hotel was spotless with no signs of critters. We would definitley stay there again....with portable printer in tow. Læs mere

This hotel was situated in a great location - it was convenient to the subway and hailing a cab on Lexington. Front desk service was good when we checked in - friendly and informative. Our flight landed earlier and we checked in slightly earlier to see if we could drop our bags off. Luckily, our guest service individual Dave was friendly and kind to […] have found a room that was cleaned already so we were able to check in. The room was very cute and comfortable for my friend and I, bed was super comfy! It was a 10-15 minute walk away from Port Authority and Time Square. "unpleasant stay"
when we checked in, we were lead to believe tht we would have a room w/ 2 beds the following day as was the original regquest upon booking and checking in. the room was not changed and we had the same room after having packed up and returning at midnight - back to the same room. this room was next to the stairs and elevators and i complained that we […] got little sleep due to all the noise. the a/c didnt work in our room and there was a tremendous break down in communication within the staff. the only helpful person was John who did his best to help us on our last night. The Fitzpatrick is located close to Grand Central, good shopping and restaurants. We had a problem with the air conditioning, and the manager was very responsive to our concerns. Hotel is very clean and comfortable, nice amenities.

A funky hotel with a few strange smelling areas. It isn't clean like the best five star hotels, but it has charm. The staff is mostly friendly some more than others. They made a mistake on a room service order and comped me the dinner free of charge which was a pleasant surprise. The food is hardly exotic but good enough to eat more than once or twice. […] I think it is a little like some small English hotels I have stayed at, being Irish in tone throughout. From pub to menu items, to employees, this is an Irish hotel. We got a good rate for this hotel. It is located next to Grand Central Station, with a Duane Reade (drug store) 2 blocks away. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but it was very clean, and the bathroom was lovely. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and willing to help. There are many restaurants nearby. "Not quite as advertised"
Great value but there is no fridge in the room, and no pay per view movies in-room. The room was functional and the beds were very comfortable. For the location it was a good price.

I was very, very happy with the hotel. The room was large, the bed comfortable, 2 bottles of water were provided free of charge, the staff courteous and professional. The location was great, right across from Grand Central. There is a wonderful courtyard restaurant next door, with access through the hotel. Great coffee shop next door, other easy access […] restaurants. Although we did not have any view from our room, I was pleased that it was completely quiet. "Location and comfort"
Great position - 10-20 mins from Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Times Square, Broadway, etc, and literally over the road from Grand Central Station, giving access to all of Manhattan. Didn't hear any traffic noise from either of my rooms, both of which overlooked the street. I've been to over 30 countries, and the Fitzpatrick has the most comfortable […] beds I have EVER slept in.
