Hotellet ligger ud til den larmende Queens avenue, men får man et værelse mod parkeringsgården, så er værelset ok (husk at bede om det). Af hjemmesiden forstås det sådan at der er morgenmad inkluderet. Det er der ikke, men der er mulighed for at købe morgenmad på en restaurant der er beliggende i samme bygning. Værelset: OK, men nedslidt og i 70'er […] stil. Internet: Det fremgår at hjemmesiden at der er internet, men der er altså kun i lobbyen og her sidder typisk en del unge mennesker og spiller imod hinanden på nettet, så båndbredden er kraftigt nedsat. Bedste tid for check af hjemmelige nyheder er inden kl 7. Restauranter: Tæt ved hotellet er der et par restauranter. Den argentinske kan anbefales. Maden på den restaurant der er i samme bygning er jævn og for dyr i forhold til kvaliteten.Subway: Ligger cirka 5 minutter fra hotellet og der er god service på linie M og R og eksprestoget E. Udemærket hotel. Lidt slidt, men fin standart for New York, lidt uden for byen. Der er Diskotek/ bar i stue etagen (fredag / Lørdag), så forsøg at få et værelse så højt oppe som muligt, vi boede på 3. sal, hvilket var støj messigt ok, men kan kunne høre "basse" gennem bygning. Der er Subway station 5 min. gang fra hotellet, og det tager så ca. 25 min […] med metroen at kommet til Time Square. Subway kort for 7 dage koster $ 9.00, så kan man køre med NY Busser og Subways lige så tosset man vil. Kortet købes på stationen Hvis du ankommer via Newark Airport, så er der 2 timers kørsel i taxa ca. $ 130,00 (inkl. broafgift). Alternativt så prøv at kontakte et at de mange shutle selskaber, vi fik turen retur til Newark for $ 30,00 pr. person Læs mere

Udemærket hotel. Lidt slidt, men fin standart for New York. Lidt uden for byen, men det tager kun 25 min med metroen at kommet til Manhatten.

Der er ca. 5-10 min. til nærmeste subway station og ca. 20 min. med undergrunden til Time Sq. Men ellers en godt hotel til denne pris. Vi var to voksne og to børn i samme værelse og det var ok størrelse. Vi skulle jo kun bruge værelse til at sove i, skulle se byen :-)

Hotellet ligger langt fra Manhattan. Kvarteret virker ikke så trygt om aftenen. Der er ca. 5 min. til nærmeste subway station. Det kan bedre betale sig at ofre lidt ekstra for et hotel med en bedre beliggenhed, hvis man gerne vil få mest ud af sin tid i New York.

Don't expect concierge service. The hotel should at least provide a coffee making machine. It's fine for a night stay and sleep

The hotel location, friendly staff, comfy room, price, everything is great..! I couldn't say the room is excellent. Because I stayed at another hotel in the same town and it was more cozy, but not the lobby, staff and the area. So I would recommend Pan American much more than that other one

Budget hotel. Free parking - they let me keep the car for over my check out time, which was very convenient for travelling back to Manhattan. Room was large, comfortable. Decor dated; room could have been cleaner, but not repulsive. Good location and certainly half the price of Manhattan hotels

when i walked into the room i had to screw with the window to get it shut. then used the toilet and had to remove the back of the toilet and mess with it for 10 min to get it to flush. then the club across the street EXOTICA was so loud from midnight till 4 AM. with drunks slamming their doors and yelling in the halls till 4AM... to top that all off […] there was NO hot water the next morning Læs mere

It displays the Pan Am Airlines theme and multi-national atmosphere welcomes overseas visitors. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. Location was ideal for us considering the costs, distance to subway, and closeness to shops and free parking. Downside was the bath tub in our room which was rusty and needs renovation. The hotel is convenient for the airports and Manhattan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. With a restaurant attached made the stay more relaxing. An excellent Hotel for those of us who are on a budget The area is a thriving area with local shops nearby. I felt safe walking a round and going to and from the subway. Pan American is clse to the subway and Queens Center Mall. Safe area to walk to subway. Good value, clean rooms.

i would still recommend this hotel to my friends though its far from the subway co'z its cheaper and the hotel staff are friendly.

We were looking for something inexpensive close to the city. This hotel was very reasonable and we could walk to the subway station in about 10 minutes and be in the city within 20-25 minutes. While it is common in most hotels in NYC I found that a surcharge for wireless internet access was disappointing and even worse is that the surcharge applies […] to each device. Where we had 3 iPhones and 2 iPads this could have made it quite expensive. Internet access is expected now a days and I feel that it should be included in the price. Læs mere

Noisy street. Make sure you get a room on the back side of the hotel. Very easy access to Manhatten, just a few blocks to the subway and 23 minutes on the subway takes you directly to Times Square.

I liked the hotel, it was great except the shower was freezing then hot, then freezing. ONLY issue. But overall great.

My wife and I booked a night here while visiting in-laws. Having stayed at a few other hotels located on Queens Blvd, I didn't expect much. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering the room. Nice size, clean & friendly. Couldn't ask for much more. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel staff was helpful showing us how to get around. It's about 1/2 mile to the subway, but once on it, it's a short ride to Times Square. The hotel worked for us because we just used it to sleep, but if you are planning on spending any leisure time in your room, it's not the place for that. Stayed there 4 days Monday - Thursday. First 3 nights were ok except for noise from guests slamming doors in the mornings 4th night could not sleep there must be a club in the area that opens on Thursday nights because loud music could be heard in the room until after 3 am. Pros: close to subway, and restaurants. Cons Internet is extremely slow (don't […] even think of downloading a movie from I tunes here) only available in the lobby unless you pay extra fee to use it in your room. Extra charge to return to the airport. (would have been ok with that if they said so up front when booking the room it was not that much but still besides the point). I've been coming here for years and have always been satisfied. They still come and pick you up for free at LaGuardia (though now they charge $10 to take you back), the rooms are still clean and there are still a couple of good, basic restaurants nearby. The price of the place hasn't changed in years. So I still recommend it to anyone on a budget in […] the Big Apple. Læs mere

This hotel was very convient for the activities that I had planned and was pretty comfortable. True New Yorkers don't get hung up on too many things, so the expectations for the price were met. I would say here again if necessary.

We slept on top of sheets bc there was a huge yellow stain on sheets under duvet the neighborhood was very shady heard cop cars all night

Was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in for the price!! Will always stay with a chain, at least then I have corp to make my complaints to.

I checked in with no problems but our room was not what expected. It was hot and I was told that because it was winter the heater was on. But to make things better they brought me a fan to help cool me off. The cable wasn't working so instead of finding more things wrong I was placed in a better room. Wouldn't mind checking in again, better than most hotels I've booked in the past for my vacations...

Myself and 3 children visited New York for a family vacation March 1-5. We stayed at the Pan American Hotel and had a great stay at hotel. Everyone from the van driver who picked us up from the airport to the maids they were very sweet and the front desk clerks were very friendly and nice and courties and very helpful. I'll be back in new york again […] in 2 months and will definately be staying at the pan american hotel again. Læs mere

It was a wonderful stay. Everything was very good , I will definitively recommend my friend to stay at this hotel. You cannot beat this price, anybody that will see my review , i recommend you to go there. No parking to pay, it is not far from the subway, and not far from manhattan if you are driving. I will defintively come back.

I read the reviews on this site, so I was prepared for what I was getting into. The Pan American is a pretty old hotel, and it shows everywhere. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad place! It just ... very worn out, in every regard. It's quite clean, though. For me, location beats many other things - and in this regard the Pan American is really […] great, with only 7 minutes or so walking distance to the next subway stop. I can't say anything about the restaurant food or the airport pick-up service, as I didn't use either. The people working there, whom I had contact with, ranged from very nice and helpful to short-spoken, but never disrespectful. The room was very spacious, yet containing quite old furniture. The sheets were clean, but the floor had some stains. The window didn't close completely, but fortunately my room wasn't facing the quite busy road in front of the hotel. The bathroom was clean, but had some broken tiles. The tub had some spots and the drain didn't work all too well. There were only two major nuisances in my room: the fridge was a bit loud and the bed-side lights didn't work at all. All in all I wouldn't really recommend the place to anybody having medium to high expectations to their hotel. For people like me, though, who need a convenient, reasonably clean, affordable place to spend the night (I spent 7 there!), it's quite OK. I'd probably stay there again next time I'm in NYC - if I'm going alone, that is. I wouldn't want to stay there with my wife or family... Læs mere

Didn't quite feel safe. Door wouldn't properly close and they have a club downstairs that let out around 2:30 and heard a few arguments.

Great commute to the R train . The subway is amazing!!

This is an older Hotel, the place is good if you are looking for convenience at a no frills price.

I recently stayed at this hotel FEB 2012. Hotel looks old and dingy. The room was small, bed was lop-sided, pillow cases were dirty, bath tub had ring it. To top matters off this hotel uses "FREE" liberally to only charge you surcharges during your stay. Check-in early $29 - Surcharge, Crib for baby $10/day - Surcharge, Shuttle back to airport $10/person […] - Surcharge. I wouldn't dare ask how much the FREE internet would cost me. If staying near LGA opt to spend a few more dollars on a hotel that has truly FREE amenities such as shuttle TO&FROM airport, and ask about surcharges. When staff tell you they can't answer questions til the day of check-in be leary. They give no handouts and NO APOLOGIES for the extra hidden fees. Oh and no credits for checking out EARLY. Overall I will never stay at this hotel again. I'll go to a more reputable one that can afford truly FREE. Læs mere

The night manager was very rude he treated us like we was thieves and when I sent my girl in she got the room and he was nice to her I don't know is it's because we was black but it was not nice at all

If you are looking for a convenient no frills hotel then this is one you can try. Only downside is the water pressure is not quite strong and wifi is not free in the rooms.

great hotel, great location, very convenience to all locations,buses,trains, etc. staff was very helpful....maids kept the room spotless. we really enjoyed ourselves. thanks.

We stayed here years ago because it was the only hotel that you could get off at JFK and it was free to go on the shuttle to LGA and then free to take the shuttle to LGA the next day, II now costs to take the shuttle and it is on a very noisy street and I didn't sleep all night.
