My wife and I loved the resort. The staff was friendly, the grounds well maintained. We used it as a home base to explore other parts of the island. It was nice coming back to a place where you could just relax, lie in a hammock and let the wind cool you down. The rooms are clean (i.e. no musty smells). The water pressure was a little low so if you […] like a hard shower, you might have to let it go. There is a boat to a small island go early and enjoy a small private, like almost nobody there in sections beach. If you get lost getting there you may need to call a few times to get the directions right. I think it is a cultural thing that directions are not that exact, as bad directions happened all over the island. Do NOT follow GPS directions or you may end up adding 2 hours to your journey :) Use the GPS to let you know you are going in the right direction only. The Copa is an off-the-path cultured island paradise. A beachfront deluxe puts only a little sand between you and the sparkling-clear water. Well trained staff that welcomed us during our entire stay. The setting is absolutely perfect, occupying a quiet stretch of beach. The trip to Gilligan's Island was fun. We explored the canals. A bit of a warning... on the outer rim of the island the current was strong, taking you away from the island. I am a strong swimmer but did not have fins, so […] swimming against the current was a challenge. My husband and I enjoyed a hike in the nearby dry forest and saw the centurion tree. We also walked a bit on a rugged beach area a couple miles down the road. The Copamarina property was well maintained with two large pools and plenty of lounge chairs. This hotel is far away from everything and you don't feel like driving all the way to find bars or restaurants. Knowing that, the hotel put high prices on food and beverages...stop by a grocery store on your way to the hotel!

Wonderful find. The Copamarina is a great hotel for those looking to be outside the very busy, touristic San Juan area. Great for families. This is the second time we stayed at Copamarina and our stay again exceeded our expectations. The resort pools and hot tubs and rooms are clean, clean, clean! Wi fi quality is excellent. The park next to the beach allows plenty of room for walking/jogging in the morning right next to the sea. I felt safe, as the resort is off the beaten path. We had a wonderful stay at the Copamarina resort (4 days). It was in late January and during the week. The place was less than 30% full. It was very quiet and enjoyable (mostly couples, only a few kids). Compared to our nights in San Juan (Condado) it was heaven (no loud music, no drunks in or around the pools, no kids running around). The staff is […] extremely helpful and friendly. The on site restaurant is very good and the daily fresh catch is great. The wait staff is very good and attentive. Beyond the on site restaurant there are very few options during the week unless you drive to Ponce or some other places 30 minutes away. The check in process was smooth with the receptionist showing us all the amenities of the resort on a map. The room itself was in need of an update. It was furnished in the 1980s style and reminded me of the 80s show "married with children." The shower left much to be desired with insufficient water pressure as well as a showerhead clogged with white […] matter of unknown origin. The bathtub could also be cleaner. The room was an ocean view but there wasn't much ocean to "view" from that distance. We were disappointed. We even looked up other resorts and considered canceling and rebooking elsewhere. However, I am very glad that we did not. The next morning we contacted the front desk with our grievances and they took care of everything the same day. The shower head was replaced, room was meticulously cleaned and the bathtub looked very inviting. The staff are very professional and do make you feel at home. They were truly amicable and congenial. The grounds of the resort are nothing short of breathtaking. The manicured lawns, the palm trees and the well maintained pool(s) are really splendid.very good but pricey. A $14 omelet in Guanica seems a tad high to me. Drinks are also priced "aggressively." I don't think I have tried a $9 mojito at an island resort before. Also, you cannot bring a cooler. Dinner is about $100 for 3 course with Drinks. So would I do it all over again? Maybe. If the prices were tamer, especially the food then I would be more likely to return. Læs mere

Copamarina is a lovely property located in the dry forest near the depressed town of Guanica.The hotel itself was reasonably priced and well-maintained. Dining options are few and a car is an absolute necessity. The on-site Las Palmas restaurant had tasy food and was fairly priced, although the menu items did not change during our 5 night stay.Alexandr's […] is the fine dining place on-site, but it is only open Friday and Saturday nights when there are sufficient guests to warrant the event. The hotel was quite empty while we were there last week, so we had great weather and no noise at all. The Hotels.com price was competitive, but did not allow for selecting a meal plan option. Since big eaters could easily consume more than the $15pp plan unlimited breakfast cost, I'd recommend that option on-site. Læs mere

We recently stayed at the Copamarina Resort in Guanica, Puerto Rico. The resort was beautiful and relaxing. Great for families. Our only complaint would have been the remoteness of the area. It was our first trip to the island and we had no idea how far from anything the resort was located. If you're looking for a secluded location to just relax, it […] is perfect. But if you like to do local sightseeing, you might consider staying elsewhere. We loved the weather, everyone was friendly and we would probably go back to Puerto Rico, just not to Copamarina Beach Resort. We would stay closer to the things we wanted to see in Puerto Rico. I should also mention, it's a little difficult to find. The road leading to the resort twists and turns up a small mountain and it is a very narrow road with no street lights. We thought we were completely lost. One more thing, skip Gilligans Island. It's dirty (my husband actually saw several rats) - much more relaxing to stay at the resort beach. Læs mere

It was an amazing experience, the hotel was located in a very calm and relaxing area, very natural. The check in went very smooth and fast. Hotel Copamarina has a good location for relaxation and water activities. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant's menu was delicious and portions were satisfying. The service was excellent every time. There are not that many restaurants close by. We took a boat ride to Gilligans Island, about 10 minutes away from the hotel, and it was […] a very enjoyable way to spend the day on the water. The next day we rented one of their kayaks for two hours. You can go through keys where the water is crystal clear. The hotel also has an infinity pool, two jacuzzi, and another pool. Convenient scuba trips leaving from the dock. Colorful wall and reef dives. Two different pool areas (children & adults) both with food/bar service with great views of beach and water.

The hotel is nice but the service was not. I called the front desk about 7 times and I could not get somebody to answer the phone. The manager helped me and he made sure I enjoyed the rest of my stay after several inconvients with the service.

We loved the hotel. The beds are comfortable, the decor is nice and modern, our room had a very comfy sofabed. The BATHROOM was very clean and well maintained, we had a regular tub, it had good water pressure and a great heater. The hotel has a gorgeus VIEW of the ocean just feets away. Really enjoyed the hotel - it was almost as if you were on another planet. The ocean was soft and gentle and the sunrise / sunset were spectacular. Very nice place to just sit and do nothing, which is what i did. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very disappointed not what I expected for the money I spent for a week stay. Nice ocean view ,but rooms are a motel setting . To my surprise no iron, ironing board, no microwave in the room. There was a small refrigerator in the room which didn't work.

It was exactly what I was expecting of the facilities. The hotel beach is not for swimmers, but the have nice options. The public beach is walking distance and they have a boat that every hour takes you to a small island with paradisiac beaches for $7. The inhouse cafe is too expensive for what it serves. We liked the CopaMarina Resort for its beautiful tropical and lush atmosphere. Liked the pools and being right on the beach. Loved walking out of our hotel room onto the grass and close to pools and beach. We got a nice room with the pool in front of us, so we can see our daughters swimming from our room. The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious […] and top notch! The service at breakfast was warm and inviting. The only thing I didn't like about our stay was that upon check in, the front desk staff wasn't friendly at all. The beauty of the resort didn't match the service upon check in. Also there were a lot of mosquitos around the resort. Location wise, its up a long winding road and when you get to the bottom, there aren't nearby things to do. Just highway and a burger king. I think overall this was a comfortable place to stay. I did not like that the shower did not drain. Water up to our ankles in the shower. I asked it to be fixed, someone came to fix it, but still the water did not drain. We had 2 rooms and this was the case in both rooms. Lots of seaweed in the Carribean but still ok to swim and have fun. Great snorkeling […] on Gilligans Island which is a must see. Hotel staff did not tell us to bring water or food to Gilligans Island which I think they should have communicated to us. We had to go back to get more water and food. Læs mere

The Hotel is right on the beach, if you get a ocean front room, you can walk out the beach door and intot he water. Each room has room access from the open air entry corridor and a patio (those ont he ground floor walk out to the water front about 150 feet away). This is a relaxed hotel, nobody is in a hury. If this is what you are looking for ten you […] have the right place. If you expect split secod service it will take a little longer. The staff are very helpful, plesent and engauge you in discussion about where you are from the Island. Several of the staff went out of their way to give driving directions to point of interest. The open air restaurant has a limited menu but it is very good, for those staying over a week and dining in the hotel every evening this may be a small issue. In internal restaurant was only open on the weekends but this may have been due to the time of the season. The beach direcly in front of the hotel is not sandy (sandy on shore but a lot of undergrowth and stones in the water), but the public beach aout 500 feet west is good. I used the PADI diving outlet at the site and it was excellent. The dive master and captain were very professional and looked after the dive party of 8 very carefully. There are very few locations near the hotel to dine. The rooms are a little basic but clean. A little investment to upgrade the rooms wold make this hotel outstanding. They should let the sound of the waves take care of the ambience in the cafe next to the beach. The background music was of bad taste and wat too loud. Food is good but expensive.

This is a great scape from stress :) Very beautifull and relax place to stay. You can go to Gilligan's Island from the Hotel in about 5 minutes for only 7 dolars p/p.
