Casa Turquesa - Cancun

Overall, the Casa Turquesa is not at all bad if what you want is a big room, big bathroom, and a simple guest service experience. I would stay again provided they fix their horrible internet service. What is good? The room was very spacious: I had a jr. suite with balcony and jacuzzi--very pleasant. The bathroom was huge with separate bath and shower, […] and overall it has a feeling of 1970's luxury--though of course times change...The internet service is expensive and it doesn't work--it cuts out when it is there at all, is very slow, and in this day and age is unacceptable, as are the charges. The beds are hard (good) but cheap feeling, and the bedding is polyester low quality sheets and unappealing artificial feeling bedcovers. I can't comment on the food and dining as I chose not to eat, in part because the dining experience looks very uninviting, not nicely lit, and sort of creepy feeling. The staff were very nice in a genuine and normal way, not like the faux-obsequiousness you get at most Cancun hotels. The pina colada I had at poolside was commendable in that it was made from scratch instead of from a mix, and that makes all the difference. The pool area is small, but if you are like us, where the beach is what counts, the beach here is excellent--very deep, and ideal for swimming, sunning. The location is very good just behind Plaza Kukulcan and its restaurants and shops. I would stay here again if they fixed the internet and updated the bedding and beds. Læs mere

I remember when this place opened and it was the most prestigious place in Camcun. Celebrities and the super rich stayed here and it was out of reach for the rest of us. Now it's not, and you see the furnishings and decor that made this hotel a draw. The size of the hotel is perfect. Beautiful hotel. Great for couples, not for those looking to experience the night life in Cancun. Local dinning is moderate to expensive. The dinning in house is lovely but expensive. Gorgeous pool, enjoyed to spa tub outside. Would visit again.

What a great find. You can stay at the Westin or some other huge hotel but you will pay more for less. I'd recommend adding the breakfast to your room- it has fresh fruit plate (big one), juice, breads, and choice of eggs (even an omelete) and a small portion of hash browns. We traveled with 3 small children (5, 7, and 9). Wanted a "do it yourself" vacation, so rented a car, chose a hotel with space (more than 1 bedroom), and did a lot of day trips. The hotel itself was outstanding. Our room (601) was a palace with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, right out on the beach. It is disconnected from the rest of the hotel but that […] worked for us. We ordered breakfast each morning and they delivered it promptly (the restaurant is right upstairs) in our room on the huge dining room table. Location is pretty far south in the hotel zone, which made trips to playa del carmen and xcaret a lot closer; but made trips into downtown cancun (only did it once) longer. Close to La Isla shopping and entertainment center with lots to do for kids. We wanted variety so chose not to do the all inclusive option. Stayed ony 2 of 4 nights, and left. No air conditioning/broken in our room & it was hot and muggy. Said they'd fix it at 9 am next day, not good enough for us. Tried to give us room next door. AC not working well there either. Finally let us stay in a room with AC on first floor. Lobby and art nice. No ammenities, no hotel, Cancun or their own hotel […] info or room service menu in room. No coffeemaker in room. Asked for, never given. We were the only couple there Tuesday b4 Thanksgiving. No cushions for wood pool lounges or up at sunset viewing point. No service at the pool. no drinks, nothing. Were doing 2 areas of construction making all kinds of noise Wednesday. Couldn't sit t the pool or are room due to severe noise. There was minimum towels. 1 washcloth between the sink and far away shower. No Fire alarm in room, Empty on ceiling. Bed as hard as marble, giving back spasms. Could only take 2 nights. Slept on the loveseat. We thought we were going to a special romantic "boutique" hotel. You can tell they are not doing well and things are getting run down. Beautiful boutique hotel with lots of art and sculptures which set it apart from other chains. The room and bathroom were huge with a large sliding glass door and window overlooking the beautiful pool and the Caribbean Sean. A definite gem.

Casa Turquesa is a jewel in the Hotel Zone. The outstanding staff makes you feel as if they can't do enough for, just ask and it is done. It is literally a museum you live in.

I stayed here four days during the slow season. The restaurants are very expensive, so ended up eating most of my meals elsewhere, or having snacks I purchased. Housekeeping was somewhat disappointing, as they didn't seem to have any set hours and would change my towel arrangements. I like a face towel in the shower, and it disappeared the last day.One […] day I had two hand towels, and the next day only one. The location is central and next to a fancy shopping mall. It is very nice to see the paintings and statutes everywhere. The view from my balcony was magnificent and I was able to appreciate marvelous sunrises. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was big and clean. Unfortunately, the hair dryer didn't work. Jacuzzi was outside and it was quite dirty. I couldn't use it. The outside pool is gorgeous. Beach is very clean.

This hotel is not much to look at as you enter, but once we got to the top of the driveway, that incredible view through the lobby put our minds at ease. It was incredibly quiet and oeaceful, and having the Kukulkan mall across the street made stocking up on cigars easier. We had a car, so the location was fine; without one you'd be kind of isolated, but if you like the hoteo zone experience, at least there are tons of buses and it's semi-walkable. Given the many positive reviews of this hotel, it is disappointing to have such a different experience. While the staff are very friendly/professional, the room was clean, and the hotel is situated in a lovely area with beautiful views of the ocean, it was the overall condition of the room that was the letdown. The minor letdowns included a room with […] furniture that is seriously outdated, wall sockets not properly screwed in the walls, bath mats at the sides of the bed, no soundproofed walls, rusted drains in each area of the bathroom, and calcification stains in the bathtub. The worst issue was the musty smell of the room, linens and towels, strong enough to not be able to ignore, and a bed that did not feel clean. Wow, what a gorgeous hotel! We loved all of the artwork and sculptures, and the feel was total relaxation. There are only about 30 suites in the hotel, so it is very boutique and quiet which we loved. We stayed end of May 2012 before peak season, so it felt like we were the only ones in the hotel...we saw maybe 2 other couples while we were there. The […] service of the staff was wonderful, and unlike most places in Cancun, they actually made a decent cocktail where you could taste the alcahol. (Most cocktails we had just tasted like juice). Fabulous boutique stay! The service was impeccable and friendly. The artwork was amazing - especially the sculptures. We happened to stay when some of the artists were actually staying in the hotel and we got tour of their work - including some work in progress. In the off season, the hotel seems to let things slide a bit, but we were proactive and asked for things that were not being offered, but we knew were available (like a table outside, and umbrella for poolside, etc..) but they were happy to accommodate when we asked... and then the next day...all the loungers had umbrellas out, and the restaurant set […] up all the outdoor tables. My husband and I stayed 3 nights @ Casa Turquesa because we absolutely love small, cute, boutique hotels. Cancun has a ton of great 4 - 5 star resorts/hotels that boast numerous amenities, but the crowds due to the fact that they have hundreds of rooms always turn us off. Casa Turquesa was perfect in that regard--only about 20 - 30 rooms, never crowded, […] very attentive staff, quiet, relaxing and very enjoyable. The only negative we experienced during our stay was check in. Granted we did arrive at 2PM, but upon check in they offered us a room on the first floor basically right next to the pool, so I requested something higher up with a full ocean view. Well the young lady at the front desk insisted that the first floor room was all that was available. It wasn't until my husband's insistence did a oceanfront room magically become available for our full stay. She told us it had to be cleaned first but would be ready by 4PM (which was fine and worth the wait). 3.5 hours later (~5:30PM) we finally got our room. It was no doubt beautiful, but coming off a long flight and having to wait over 3 hours in the lobby in the heat was not a great way to start the vacation. All the servicemen, waiters, security guards, etc we ran into after check in were top-notch!! It was just that 1 lady at the front desk who spoiled our first day in Cancun. Fortunately, that didn't put a damper on the rest of our stay as we absolutely loved the room, the hotel, the restaurant, the drinks, and the overall experience and would definitely stay there again and recommend to others. First let me say this Hotel has a great beach, great central and safe location near huge shopping centers and great food. We stayed here because the hotel we usually stay at the Aqua went all adult. We have two children. Considering the Expedia rating of 4 stars I thought we were on the right track. This is not near a 4 star hotel but it could be with […] proper management, better food and a little time spent making the entrance more grand. We had a room issue. We paid extra for an ocean front room but were given a ocean view. The manager upgraded our room to a great big room. There was more confusion than necessary on that issue but it was handled above and beyond. As mentioned in the reviews all the staff was very helpful and friendly and really tried to make our trip special. Here is the difference between a 4 star and what we experienced. We had to keep asking to get our room made up, the turndown service that was supposed to be nightly happened only once, the cookies and coffee that were to be at our room in the morning were there 4/8 nights. It takes organization to be a 4 star hotel and at this time the place is just not organized. As far as the grounds and the beach, both are magnificent. The rooms are huge! The people are more than friendly. The food is decent at the hotel but not great. Like I said with some organization and better food it would be a 4 star hotel. Abbiamo soggiornato due volte nell'hotel e siamo rimasti, ambedue le volte , molto soddisfatti. E' l'unico hotel nella zona hotelera piccolo e con carattere, comprensivo inoltre di ogni comodità. Il personale, inoltre, è delizioso.

Wir waren in der Vorsaison (Ende Oktober/Anfang November) in Cancun und finden dieses Hotel außergewöhnlich: Das ganze Hotel und jedes Zimmer ist mit Kunstwerken und Wandgemälden übersät. Das Beste ist aber, dass die meisten Zimmer ein eigenes Jacuzzi auf dem Balkon haben! Es gibt einen schönen Pool und einen traumhaften Strand. Da die Zimmerzahl überschaubar […] ist gibt es kein Gedränge. Direkt nebendran ist ein riesiges Einkaufszentrum, ansonsten die üblichen Hotelkästen. Das Hotelpersonal (Rezeption, Restaurant) war ausgesprochen freundlich, aber nicht sehr kompetent. Da kann es schon mal passieren, dass bei einer Standard-Frühstückskombination (es gibt kein Buffet) erst das Obst vergessen wird und dann das falsche Ei kommt. Oder dass zwei Kellner den gleichen Tisch bedienen und der eine nicht weiß was der andere als Bestellung aufgenommen hat. Das wird aber durch die gute Laune der Kellner wieder aufgewogen. Das Abendrestaurent war zu unserer Zeit praktisch immer leer, aber es gibt genug Alternativen in der Umgebung. Tipp: Das Frühstücksbuffet im Ritz-Carlon (2 Hotels weiter) ist doppelt so teuer aber mindestens 3x so gut. Læs mere

Das Hotel liegt direkt neben einem Luxus-Einkaufszentrum, in dem es auch einen kleinen Supermarkt gibt. Parken ist kostenlos auf dem Hotel-Gelände möglich. WiFI ist kostenlos und funktioniert auch am Pool problemlos. Die Geschwindigkeit könnte manchmal besser sein. Ich habe Foto-Uploads von ca. 300 MB immer nachts gemacht. Et perfekt hotellopphold med store, flotte rom og personlig service. Det ble en fantastisk opplevelse fra innsjekk til avreise, mye takket være betjeningen på Casa Turquesa Hotel. Vi ble tatt i mot med frukt og drikke på rommet, god service hele veien. Havutsikt fra rommet, basseng, og egen, privat strand med egen badevakt fra morgen til kveld.
