Super 8 Waukegan I 94 N Il - Waukegan

The rooms were not the best but it was very decent for what was paid. The rooms were clean and room service was trust worthy. The service that was provided by the staff was superb we couldn't have asked for more.

It was terrible! They would not give us the discount for the Navy families. The rooms were dirty. The beds were broken. There was no coffee pot in the room. There was no place to hang our clothes so we had to use the curtain rod. The bathrooms were discusting. There was no batteries in the remote control.

I choose this hotel for its price-rate. I only stayed simply because I knew I would get my money back. I would not stay there again in fact I would save more money and get a hotel with a chain hotel. When I went to the hotel it had holes in the blankets, and the continental breakfast room smelled like old vinegar mixed with a months worth of trash.

As we entered the hotel, the person working the front desk didn't even look up until I spoke to her. Then, the reservation ended up being entered incorrectly--we were supposed to have a two queen non-smoking, and were placed in a two twin bed smoking room. went there for the Navy graduation. they provided a shuttle to and from the graduation. the continental breakfast was decent. the mattresses were getting soft and should be replaced soon. it was definitely an older building with old items(mattress, pillows, blankets, etc). service was good. price was low. we were satisfied with our stay.

Was decently clean and smelled good but the hotel itself was old, broke down and had no elevator :( The window did not lock, nor did the curtain close all the way. The curtain in the bathroom barely shut so water was everywhere. Also in heels and barefeet you could feel holes in the floor. Not comforting.

Room was poor in cleanliness, beds wore out and very uncomfortable. Did not get exactly what I had reserved and paid for. Hotel says it's pet friendly, for $25 per pet. In the end I feel like there were no savings with this booking I know I could have stayed at a nicer hotel for the same money. Lesson learned I will do a little more research next t […] ime. When I first arived the first room they game me one of the beds where made and the other one was not. they then gave me a new room, I opened the drawer where the phone is and found part of a crack pipe and a push rod. Not a very good place to take kids of which I have three.

We were in town to visit our son at the Naval base so we were not in the room much. The furnishings are outdated but the room was very clean...and house keeping cleaned it daily. Right next door to McDonalds, which was convenient. For the price we will be staying again!

that was the worst hotel stay I have ever had. the sheets on both be sheets were ripped likes were chewing on them. I can't believe they put those sheets back on the bed. the shower was dirty, the television blew out and started smoking. there was nothing they could do until the next night. it was a non smoking room and it reeped of smoke.

The desk was sticky, the comforter had remains of pizza on it, the hairdryer didn't work, the water in the shower was without preasure,my confirmation said non smoking and got smoking room I have asthma the smell affects my breathing, I said we had 4 people was give only 2 towels, They only staff the place with one person I had to get clean linens and […] towels from front desk NO Service for the customers will not recommend this location to anyone. Wanted a hotel just to sleep at for the night with a stay at Great America then Gurnee Mills. Our room had garbage left in one of the trash cans and no soap. Overall it was ok, a bed to sleep in for a low price.

We didn't make our reservations until late for the Navy Graduation, and therefore were happy that there ws a room available. That being said, the hotel wasl listed as recently remodeled, but we had the room that missed the remodel. The room had a foul odor and was not what we had expected. Who ever heard of a motel with 3 floors with no elevator!!!! The breakfast room was too small to be convenient. Trays should have been provided to take food to room. 7 AM to 9AM is inconvenient. 10 AM would have been a better closing time. The staff was friendly and helpful. I booked this hotel off Hotels.Com for the price, and as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for" Our A/C unit didn't work in our room, so we requested to be moved to a room that had a working one. They agreed to move us, but only had a room with 2 full beds instead of 2 queen beds. The hotel itself was simply dirty. It had an "old" odor to it, and […] just seemed gross. There was absolutely no water pressure in the shower, and we had an old Zenith CRT TV with a VCR! I thought hotels upgraded a long time ago? We also had to go downstairs and ask for 2 more pillows. The ones on the bed were the thinnest pillows we've ever seen. We were here with a group of people, 2 rooms total, and I was really embarrassed by the quality of this place. Next time we'll splurge the extra money and stay in a nice hotel. If you want cheap, this is for you. If you want comfort & cleanliness, keep looking. Læs mere

This hotel is close to Great America. It's not top notch but it was nice for the price. We couldn't complain. They also had Great America tickets for 1 and 2 day passes. They also had shuttle to and from the park but we didn't use the service but thought it was a nice touch. Would certainly stay here again.

The location itself was convenient for going to Six Flags. The hotel, not impressed. Looked pretty run down. The room which was reserved, looked like it had blood on the carpet?? Don't know if it was or not, so went down to customer service asked for another room, which was on the upper floor - air conditioner not working, so asked to another room.....finally […] the air conditioner was working good and the carpet looked fine - 3rd time is a charm!!!! Hotel is convenient for its location. It does not have an elevator, so 3rd floor can be a bear with luggage.Rooms could use some updating and carpets were pretty dirty. We had to have bathroom cleaned before we entered as walls were filthy. For the price it was ok and cudo's to the staff, who were very responsive to our requests. The bathroom was a little on the dirty side. But the beds were comfotable until midnight when the room above us had a party and would not be quiet. Called the front desk twice and nothing really seemed to be done about it.

We needed a pet-friendly hotel so our options were limited. The hotel was relatively clean however the breakfast included warm juice and cold coffee, and all that was offered was cereal and English muffins. Our a/c had a moldy-smell coming from it luckily the windows opened so we were able to open the window instead of running the stinky a/c. I want to thank the staff for being so friendly and informative. The room was very clean and my stay was affordable and comfortable. I would definitely recommend the Super 8 Waukegan. It is also very conveniently located - there are several restaurants, grocery stores, etc. nearby (walking distance) - not to mention Gurnee Mills Shopping Center being […] so close by - a must-go. We were there for our son's Naval recruit command graduation for couple of nights and love the rooms clean, quite and helpful staff at the hotel. The Continental Breakfast is a plus when staying at this hotel. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when in Chicago area.

Motel is very dirty, has no elevator, and rooms smell very badly. There was tons of dirt, dust, and random objects under the beds. Rooms came with no towels unless you request them from the front desk. Would never go back.

We were able to get this hotel at about 1/2 the price. For the cost, location to Six Flags and Gurnee Mills, it was a great deal. It wasn't a 5 star hotel; but, we only slept there. We were out and about all day. The breakfast was a simple continental breakfast: cereal, milk, juice, toast and donuts. Perfect for you if you have kids.

The hotel lobby and public areas (halls, etc.) were well kept up and clean. However, upon entering our room we were greeted with a strong odor, mostly smoke. The chair in our room had a huge stain on the cushion and arm. One of the beds had stained sheets. The carpet looked original to the building and was stretched and bumped. The floor underneath […] the carpet was uneven as well. The shower had visible mildew on the curtain and the corners of the floor had not been properly cleaned or quite some time. The reservation was made for 5 and only two towels were provided, although there was no problem obtaining more from the front desk. The window in the room was also so filthy that you couldn't see out of it. As other reviews said, this hotel is not cleaned well at all. It is apparent that the carpet needs to be replaced, as well as the sheets and furniture. Don't count on breakfast if you stay here. We went down rather early and all that was out was some cereal and a plate of English muffins. The location seemed safe. Nothing positive to say about this particular Hotel. Complaints: The desk clerk was rude and could not answer any of my questions on toll roads,neighborhood services such as grocery stores, shopping centers, road directions,etc. Alot of room to room noise all through the night. Hotel had a broken security door in the back of the Hotel that had steps […] leading up to all floors of the Hotel. The light in between the bed was broken upon arrival,the curtain to the window in the room was broken for all to see, and that never got fixed during my stay. My room was suppose to be a non-smoking room but the room smelled heavy of smoke. My room was old and it showed it age well.The water pressure as well as the heat of the water was terrible. The room was real small and did not have enough electric outlets in it. It was a good thing there was a McDonalds Resturant next door because this Hotels Continental Breakfast was non existent. This hotel was the most inexpensive I could find in the area, and I got what I paid for. We complained to the desk clerk that there was mold on the wall in the shower and behind the toilet and there was gunk built up in the corners of the bathroom. The room had a funky smell to it, and the beds felt like laying directly on metal springs. They promptly […] provided another room, which was cleaner, but the beds were smaller. The pillows were barely pillows. Whatever cleaning fluid they used in the lobby and rooms smelled like urine. The blankets were scratchy and akin to sandpaper lined felt. It was interesting to note the wood bars that you could set in the window on the first floor for added security. The neighborhood isn't great, but it's also not where I'd be afraid to step outside at night. I certainly did lock my doors. The key cards to the room were demagnetized a couple of times... more than I've had to deal with at any other hotel. Breakfast each morning was fresh doughnuts, english muffins, coffee, orange and apple juice. The walls were thin, but the guests were thankfully calm. The hotel is popular for parents and family in town for boot camp graduates of Great Lakes Naval Training Center. It was not a BAD hotel... but it certainly wasn't four stars. The staff was pleasant. This hotel is about as expected. The hotels.com price was an encouragement to stay at the hotel. No notable bad (or exceptionally good) features. For the price and location, I would stay at this Super 8 again if I was in the area.

Wir hatten 2 Zimmer gebucht. Ein drittes Zimmer haben wir kennen gelernt und baten um ein anderes, da die Betten ungewöhnlich schwach waren. Das Motel insgesamt, nicht nur unsere Zimmer, ist ungewöhnlich schmutzig, unhyghienisch und der Zustand von Gebäude und Möbeln ungewöhnlich schwach und alt. Eines unserer Zimmer roch beim ersten Betreten nach Chlor, […] es handelt sich möglicherweise um Mittel, um Schimmel zu bekämpfen. Das andere Zimmer bot ebenfalls unangenehme Gerüche, die jedoch nicht zuordenbar waren. Die Bäder wurden eindeutig nicht sauber geputzt, ebenso der Früstücksraum. Das Motel ist ungewöhnlich hellhörig. Der Service an unseren 5 Tagen ließ zu wünschen übrig. Nichts von der gewohnten Freundlichkeit in den U.S.- Hotels/Motels. Gut: Internetanschluss. Direkt zuvor übernachteten wir in einem Super 8 Motel in Mishawaka, Indiana. Und auch wenn man natürlich nicht zuviel von einem Super 8 Motel erwarten darf: die beiden Unterkünfte, die eigentlich auf dem gleichen Niveau sein sollten, trennen Welten!
