The Westin Palace, Milan - Milano

Hotellet ligger rigtig fint med en fin gåtur gennem parken til domkirken og shoppingområdet. Fantastisk lille morgenmadsrestaurant tæt på, -Bianco Latte, Via Turati, 30. Desværre blev vi snydt af billederne og troede der var pool på hotellet. Det viste sig at være en spa, som tilhørte suiten. Vi trøstede os med, at der var en fin tag terrasse, men den […] var lukket, så det var lidt af en skuffelse. Meget fint ophold. Nød et i fulde drag. Blev dog pludselig i tvivl om morgenmad var inkluderet. Det er det jo normalt. Blev dog spurgt da vi checded ud, om vi havde spist morgenmad.

My girlfriend and I had been looking very much forwarding to a prolonged weekend at a 5-star hotel. However, we were bitterly disappointed; the very high per-night fee did not include breakfast (extremely expensive). Insulting minibar prices. A hotel room in decay with some of the panels badly maintained. Only one set of bathrobe/slippers although we […] checked in as a couple. We paid a much higher than normal fee for wireless internet, but is was useless since the connection was very poor in our room on the 7th floor (we did manage to get a refund). The hotel is placed in a less than charming area, a 25 minute walk from the Duomo. I have a very hard time contemplating how this hotel can be in business with these prices/quality, since you can easily find accomodation in Milan at more reasonable prices and higher quality of service. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. It is hard to believe why a seemingly "luxury" hotel can charge extra for everything, when you pay such a high fee for a below-par level of accomodation. Selvom hotellet ikke ligger i gå-afstand fra seværdighederne, betyder det ikke det store - metroen ligger 2 min gang fra hotellet og derfra er der adgang til hele byen indenfor overskuelige tider - med tog / metro tager det ca 1½ time fra Malpensa - fixed fee taxa tager ca. en lille time.

Hotellet levede til fulde op til forventningerne til et 5-stjernet luksushotel. Ifølge andre skulle hotellet ikke have den bedste beliggenhed, men der var ingen problemer da vi var der. 10-15 minutters gåtur fra Milanos bedste shoppingområder og seværdigheder er perfekt, især da prisen var yderst rimelig. Hvis man endelig skal sige noget negativt, […] så er det at roomservicen og minibaren er ekstremt dyr, men man kan jo bare købe noget med på vej til og fra hotellet, hvis det er et problem. The concierges are 5 star. The doormen are rarely near the door. The room temperature was uncomfortable because the ac was not yet turned on for the season. This is a solid 4 star.

The location is very central and directly opposite the subway line. EUR 39 for breakfast that is not included with the room was very disappointing. Room size is good but needs a facelift. No kettle or complimentary water in the room. Very expensive in-room dining with an additional cover charge!

Really excellent hotel! worth the money!!

Wonderful hotel. Would stay again. But, the incidental charges for everything are annoying -- and seem petty. Internet should be free, especially for Starwood Preferred Guests.

We found Milan very expensive city, but the hotel was fntastic value for money!

This hotel has a sufficiently convenient location: 25 minutes of walking and you will be at Duomo di Milano and La Scala, and there is a metro stop almost across the street. However the neighborhood suffers a total lack of charm and character. The hotel staff is courteous and efficient enough though impersonal and business cold. They definitely had […] a light occupation rate but did not give us the room upon our arrival at around 1pm! When we came back after 3pm, our room had a strong unpleasant smell of an old, neglected and out-of-use place, though no dust was visible. The bathroom looked clean but had the faint odor of old urine and sewage. The carpet was stained and discolored, and the furniture was in horrible condition: 2 of the commode's drawers had their front panels dropping down, the armoire/wardrobe was stripped of its wood lacquer in many places, the door handle fell off when we grabbed it to open the armoire. The elevators were very small, 2 people with shopping bags had no room to maneuver. When we went down to the business center at the lobby level to print our boarding passes we were told that we must pay to use the internet, and there is a minimum charge of 4 euros for a half hour! The management of the hotel could do more and should have done more to improve the conditions of the facilities and the style of their personnel. This hotel is run as an adequately efficient rooms-for-rent business, this hotel does not offer hospitality and definitely not the world famous Italian charm! Læs mere

Hotel is very good and service as well but it was but airconditioner was turned off and they refuse to turned On - they said that it will turned ON only in summer. Big big dissapointment. Temperature in room was 24C and about 3am people start working outside and it was noise. Also door in bathroom was rotten. Near Central Train Station at Milano, only 7 minutes walking, less than the fingers on your hands Euro by taxi, safe, and clean, however, breakfast bar very expensive.

Good location, everything in walking distance. Beautiful lobby and gorgeous bar. Rooms very spacious and very comfortable. Good service and good rates.

Great property, the place to be in a hotel in Milano, the subway, and train by the hotel door ! The service perfect, except for some little details in the room, cup of coffee, not removed after one day... Big rooms, great atmosphere VERY POSITIVE GLOBALLY, will return for sure !!!

This hotel is in a good location even though it is not as close to the Duomo as other hotels (20-30 min walk or 5 min taxi).It is conveniently near the train station making it easy to rent a car. The lobby and some rooms were new and beautiful. Our room was in the older section but still clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent. The valet went […] out of his way to help us return our rental car near the hotel instead of driving to the airport..he saved us a lot of time and money. Læs mere

This is an elegant but warm hotel. The rooms are lucious, and the staff is very accomodating. We were there during a strike, and much of the staff worked anyway. A really great hotel just 10 min from the train station.

Thirteen euros for a can of coke from the fridge need i say more

When I was taking a shower, I had to wait 20 min for a hot water. It is not a 5 star hotel.

We booked two grand deluxe rooms on hotels.com at a great rate, and for that price this hotel was fantastic. Very large and luxurious rooms, large marble bathrooms, clean and nice lobby. The concierge was helpful, and the front desk was attentive. In general, the service is NOT that of a 5 star hotel and even though the hotel has been recently renovated […] it is still a pretty old property, but for the price, and even if we had to pay a bit more a night, it was a great deal. Extremely pleasant staff from the valet parking, to receptionist, concierge and bar staff. I was disappointed in the restaurant - there were extra charges on too many items - cover charge, bread charge for a menu that was already over 30 euros for a main course is excessive. Also, there is a bit of a scam on the wine - you select your wine and then […] the waiter comes back and suggests another wine that is better but only a little more expensive - this I can accept as good advice from a sommelier, but I noticed that they did this to every table. Beautiful room....just couldn't believe it! They upgraded me as it was my birthday but even so I could not have been more pleased. Fab hotel and roof terrace to sunbathe on with views over Milan (plus bar). Restaurants were booked by staff and bars recommended - all good. This was the last stop on our two week dream getaway, and we were pleasantly surprised. I'll start by saying the hotel staff was amazing, and the property was very well kept. The bar downstairs was a bit overpriced, but the food was still good. Hotels.com left a note with the Westin letting them know it was our ten year anniversary, and they upgraded […] our room to a suit for free. It's only a 5 min walk from the Milano train station, but a 15 min walk to everywhere else. We traveled through Italy and took day trip from Milan to Lake Como via train, so it was convenient for us. The hotel is terrific in all respects but internet use. They do not have free wifi even in the lobby. They also would not print out our airline boarding passes, but instead said we would have to pay 6 euro for internet access to print the passes. That is unacceptable. Very pleasant hotel, top service, very 'civilized' but beware that EVERYTHING is extra and annoyingly expensive. If you don't care to spend euro 35 for breakfast, go to a cafe next door... and get your bottled water at a store close-by. I don't mind spending money for good value and I am prepared to pay high prices for great hotels, but to pay $15 for […] a small bottle of water is simply annoying and you feel simply 'taken'. Same is with internet, which is part of the normal price at many hotels, but euro 15 per day at the Westin...The service at the restaurant was very poor and arrogant (we were told the wait would be 15 minutes and after waiting more than 45 minutes we decided to go elsewhere...) Sometimes you just have to put in words when you can't speak to the right person. And this is not easy. I booked at Starwood Westin Palace Hotel for 4 nights, February 2-6. This should not happen to anyone who is a guest and the fact is Italy is no better than another country in service, in addressing my situation while there. Upon arrival at the hotel […] we were give a very tiny room, 201, facing inside with no light. After discussing with the front desk, she moved us to a larger room, 248, with good light, 201 faced inside, like a prison, no exaggeration. We got in the room and unpacked. BUT as we looked at the room we realized that it was a totally unacceptable room. The door jam was splitting apart, hardly Starwood or Westin standard. The dresser was literally falling apart, see photos, light through the drawers, handles falling off and drawers can't all close properly Then the room had no carpet? Why no one knew. Later they claimed due to people with allergies. The floor looked like, see photo, a herd of high heel elephants had trampled through it repeatedly So again I returned to the front desk as the famous Starwood service express didn't answer. By the way this occurred in other days as well, it rang but no one answered the phone. So she offered us two other rooms and at this point I was both tired and exasperated so we took rook 206 Fun as my wife said, Steve, it is the opposite of 201 same closet type room but had carpeting. The next day we did put the CHANGE SHEETS on the bed, but upon returned that evening, it was not changed. As well there seems to be a shortage of towels all week as I keep requesting some added towels, and most of the time they do not arrive. The concierge did get them delivered one night Today is our last day, Saturday Feb. 6 as we leave tomorrow. As we left this morning for the day, I went to the front desk and complained of the lack of housekeeping attention and showed him last night the night housekeeper had left two identical card Læs mere

First impressions of the hotel are excellent. The decor and layout in the foyer are classy but very welcoming. My room was a good size and had all the accessories you could need. I was particularly grateful for the in-room internet system as I had not brought my lap-top. The main restaurant is expensive but the food is wonderful. Service throughout […] the hotel is first-class, especially the room service function which was prompt, friendly and top quality. With taxis on constant duty immediately outside the hotel and the Repubblica metro station just across the road, the hotel is ideally situated. Central Station is a ten minute walk away and the lovely Giardini Pubblici are five minutes from the hotel on foot if you fancy a walk, jog or picnic. Westin Milan, is a good hotel, nice lobby, convenient for small meetings and close enough to Milan Central Station which allow you to take the fast train to Venice and Rome easily. The downtown shopping district is not very close. Overall is a convenient location and a good hotel for business man.

Very friendly and helpful service and a great room.

Excellent and very polite staff. Very helpfull concierge. The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable, there was a few minor concerns. The electrical outlet in the bathroom did not work. hairdryer did not work and they brought us a new one.
