WONDERFULLY TRADITIONAL AUSTRIAN HOTEL IN SUPERB LOCATION FOR EXPLORING THIS VERY SPECIAL CITY. DELIGHTFUL SERVICE AND VERY HELPFUL. DEFINATELY ONE TO BE RECOMMENDED. IT ISNT CHEAP BUT WE GOT A VERY GOOD DEAL BY GOING OUT OF SEASON AND STAYING FOR 3 NIGHTS.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was great and the rooms were very spacious and clean however it is an old hotel. Unfortunately a big letdown for us was the comfort of the bed - the pillows were basically non existent which sôunds petty but meant that we had a very restless night. Otherwise all in all this is a lovely hotel.

Accessible via a pedestrian shopping lane in the heart of Salzburg's Altstadt, this hotel ischarming and well-managed. We had a lovely and spacious room in the back, overlooking Herbert von Karajan Platz. There's a lot to see and do within walking distance of here -- the location is not to be faulted. We found this hotel by good reviews and it was all true, adn loved staying here. It is an old bldg with long histroy that has been renovated. It is clean, has big rooms and entrance way, very helpful staff and excellent location right in the middle of most famous street under the fortress. All are within walking distance and can come back to hotel to […] rest before going out again. Queens, historical figures, Hollywood stars all stayed here. Cost was very reasonable maybe due to off season, this is Oct. You will not regret booking this hotel. we only stay in 5 star hotels and have been traveling extensively and found this hotel to be a gem. Læs mere

a very lovely hotel - our room was not large, but was very well appointed. Hotel staff was attentive and helpful. The location was perfect - great shopping just outside the door, you can walk to almost everything you want to see, and a very safe, secure feeling

Don't park car with the hotel! = 35.- Euros per day! Don't take a shower: the water-temperature switched from burning hot to ice cold within a fraction of a second. (Very dangerous if you are older and try to jump out. Children should not left be unattended!) Personal is very attentive.

This is a delightful hotel with 600 years of history. Very, very convenient. The staff could not have been nicer, esp. Thomas and Ricardo. We were treated like family, every request was met immediately and with a smile. Beautiful room, quiet, spacious, very nice amenities. Luxury it is.

I did not experience any of the issues some people have had in the past. Before I arrived I emailed and explained I have problems sleeping and needed a VERY quiet room...and I got a very nice room. stayed three nights and would come back again.

The staff at this hotel was outstanding, bilingual, and always ready to assist you. The location is very good. Everyone who books at this hotel needs to call them first to understand where to park. We were so frazzled from the parking experience that it really stressed us out and kinda ruined our first day. The room we had was really tacky - bright […] pink bed, bright pink drapes, dark green carpeting with bright blue furniture and accents. It was really hard to look at. The furniture seemed like it was made for little people and the mattress was very hard. The bathroom was clean and functional. This hotel could be a real gem if Starwood would put some money into it. Beautiful traditional rooms and bathrooms. Very helpful staff. Parking expensive at 33 euros per night and restaurant also very expensive. Breakfast cost between 21 and 29 euros so we didn't indulge! Great location on main shopping street

An excellent 600 year old hotel - beautifully restored. Excellent service from reception to room/maid service. Only negative aspect was the presence of an overweight gentleman who was permanently seated right opposite reception at the front door who chain smoked for the whole five days of our visit - marring the first impression you get of this hotel […] every time you enter it. He seemed to know the hotel staff - he may indeed be a member of staff himself although if he was, he was the only one not wearing a uniform/national costume. He should be asked to smoke outside to ensure the hotel doesn't smell smoky - which means he will be outside pretty much 100% of the time. Læs mere

This historic hotel is on one of the busiest streets in Salzburg but was completely quiet and very comfortable. The bathrooms were new and functional; the beds were very comfortable and the service was friendly and quite good. The location was within walking distance of almost all the in-town sites. The decor in the bedroom in the original building […] was a bit kitschy and old fashioned but my children did not complain. We did not try the restaurant and skipped the very expensive (29 Euro) breakfast buffet. However, there were many restaurants of all types in the area. My second stay at the Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg was even better than the first. The hotel is utterly charming. The staff are attentive and efficient. Manuel at the front desk is a model of courtesy and efficiency. The champagne aperol cocktails we had in the bar were the best we've ever had anywhere. We will definitely be back.

Hotel ideal für Festspiele und Einkäufe. Hotel Service freundlich, kompetent und zuvorkommen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
