Brooks Hotel - Dublin

Sadly, we only stayed one night at the Brooks Hotel after arriving in Ireland. It was conveniently located to restaurants, shops and tourist sites. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Connor, the bellhop/manaboutthehotel was especially kind and helpful. We had our first Irish breakfast of the trip and it didn't disappoint. The room was a little […] small, but fine for 2 people. very pleasant hotel.clean.nice decor.very helpful staff.when we phoned for champagne glasses to be brought to the room.the nice lady in reception quickly offered us a bucket of ice to accompany the glasses.bed room decor a bit 'busy' for my taste.the rest of the decor around the hotel is very classy and restful.breakfast very expensive..a bowl of porridge […] was 9 euro!!.We went to near by kylemore in thestephens green centre for breakfast.Over all we enjoyed Brooks hotel. This hotel was great! Arrived at about 5:30am on a flight from Boston and they had a room ready for us and had absolutely no problem letting us check in that early. The staff was very welcoming, courteous, and helpful. It is in a perfect location for access to anywhere in the city, and is within walking distance to just about anything you could possibly […] need. That being said, it can be a bit noisy at night, but that should be expected considering you are right next to Grafton Street. So the location is worth the little bit of noise. Also, the room was a little smaller than what we are used to, but everything was very nicely done and the common areas/hallways gave a real "at home" feeling. Wanted to provide a short break for my in-laws to celebrate their Golden Wedding. Having choosen Dublin i researched to find a hotel that was centrally placed and of a high standard. I made direct contact with staff at the hotel to discuss whether they could help in any way to mark the aniversary and was very happy with their answer. Previous reviews […] painted a very positive picture of this hotel. Having spoken with my in-laws upon their return they give a glowing account of friendly staff, smart hotel with beautiful quiet rooms, great food and well positioned to get to local attractions. Location is the main attractive feature of this hotel parking was a 6-7 min walk away which may be an issue for some people. Overall it was a great stay and we would stay there again.

Excellent, quiet location. Rooms a bit small, but clean and efficient. The concierge is particularly helpful.....helped arrange transport, gave good advice re getting around Dublin. All in all, excellent value.

Location is perfect for exploring and shopping. We had a superior room with a king bed. The room was spacious and the bath was recently updated with new fixtures and tile. You must meet Connor if you go. He is amazingly helpful and friendly. The entire staff was very friendly. Street noise was minimal. We stayed 2 nights in October 2010 (supporting a runner in the Dublin marathon). When we arrived at 6am (off the ferry) we didn't expect our room to be ready - we just planned to leave our luggage until later in the day - but we were offered the option to upgrade to a better room and check in right away - which was a very welcome opportunity for a quick […] sleep! The hotel is in a great central location, very nicely furnished, the staff are very helpful (e.g. the night before we left they advised us to check ferry crossings because of bad weather). There is free wifi and 2 PC's for guests to use. The only thing I would say against Brooks hotel is that the breakfast was pricey and not especially good. So, do stay there ... but either get a room rate including breakfast or go out for breakfast! I would stay there again next time we visit Dublin. Læs mere

The Brooks Hotel is a really wonderful place to stay. They also have a secret gem and he is Connor. Connor greets you as you come in the door. He asks your name and from that point on he refers to you by name every time he sees you. He is helpful on every level. Ask directions, for recommendations really anything and he will help. This hotel well deserves it's 4-star rating. I have stayed at several other hotels in the area and Brooks compares quite favorably. The exterior is not much to see, but the interior is nice and rooms are quite comfortable. I didn't try any meals there, so no comment. Location cannot be beat - it is very close to all of the central Dublin sites, including […] lots of shopping. The staff was friendly and the concierge, Connor, is the nicest, most helpful person. We came straight from the airport in the morning. Our room wasn't ready (about 9 am), but he provided us with a place to freshen up and store our luggage. All you need is the relevant Info so have kept it brief. Location - Excellent. Very close to several tourist areas eg Stephens Green, Trinity College, Grafton Street, Temple Bar and convinient for all of the bus routes. Amenities - Very nice bar and reception area, advertises a gym & sauna, however some nice gym equipment but the room was very small. […] If you had 3 people in there it would be cramped - I'm not kidding. Don't get excited if you are well into your fitness training. Restaurant - Didn't use it as we prefered to eat out. Quite reasonably priced for dinner from looking at the menu but very expensive for breakfast so we used Bewleys in Grafton Street, only 3 mins walk away and less than half the price for breakfast. Room - Nicely furnished, flat screen TV with 5 or 6 UK channels (BBC1, E4 etc), NIce bathroom with granite tops, shower, bath etc. Kept very clean by the staff, tea & coffee making facilities, room safe, ironing board, air con (bit too noisy to have on at night but we kept window open and because Drury St is fairly quiet we didn't have any problems) Staff - Very friendly and helpful. Very keen to assist when we needed something. My wife requested a complimentary foot spa when we had walked a particularly long way one day and it was in the room in minutes. Overall - I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was reasonably priced, had a very nice location, helpful staff and was well maintained. In the area - Whilst in Dublin we visited Bentleys Oyster bar & Grill on St Stephens Green which is only 5 mins from hotel and was very nice, bit pricey but the service and food was fantastic, also recommend O'Neills Pub in Suffolk St - Their Irish stew was lovely and a nice pint of Guinness, talking of Guinness the Guinness Storehouse was a very interesting visit and is only a 20 min walk or a short bus ride from the hotel. We could not have been happier with our stay at the Brooks Hotel in Dublin. The location is fantastic and very handy to fine dining. The Brookes hotel was in a quiet, convenient location close to Grafton Street. The views from the hotel leave a little to be desired but it is a city centre hotel. Staff were very accommodation and helpful. A good hotel which I will certainly return to on future trips.

I had such a lovely couple of days here with my family before setting off around Ireland I decided to return at the end of my journey. The hotel is close to everything but quiet and peaceful. Rooms are beautifully furnished. The absolute best thing about this hotel however is the staff. Nothing. was too much trouble. Everyone seemed attentive and positive. […] A special mention must go to the doorman who remembered us by name and always had a friendly greeting. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dublin. The hotel is centrally located and the staff is wonderful. I was sad to leave the hotel.

Perfect location, friendly staff...although they did not know a place to cash USA$100(the big bank downtown), room was rather small, but clean, nice pillows and modern. The bathroom door would continually close but that was a fire code according to the mgr. I would most likely stay there again. Need breakfast though and an airport shuttle...taxi cost […] US$30! Bit run down, water kettle was grimy and moldy. Room needs to be renovated. Film of grease in room. Toilet and bathtub had stains and loose screws. Sink stopper was broken. Never got a wake-up calls consistently. They would call late or not at all. However, the staff are wonderful people. They try really hard. On the plus side: All the staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel was clean, and my room was well-tended by housekeeping. The water pressure was good and there was plenty of hot water. The atmosphere in their library/study room was good for winding down or doing some work on the laptop. There's a parking garage just across the street. The location […] is fantastic and right next to the shopping center and tons of pubs & restaurants. On the non-plus side: My mattress was hard as a rock. The room was much smaller than I expected. I barely had enough room to move around the bed. I ended up tying the bathroom door handle to the towel rack to keep it open because it would automatically spring shut and hit me while I was standing in front of the sink. The tiny television (no cable channels) sat on top of the desk, where there was also a lamp and a coffee maker. This left no usable space on it for a laptop, which didn't really matter because the wireless signal did not reach my room anyway, and I had to go down to the lounge to get a signal because there was no hard-wired connection available in the room. I made the mistake of ordering the "American Pancakes" from room service on my first day. It was one pancake that was about as thick and firm as my mattress and was inedible. I didn't eat anything else from the hotel after that experience. All-in-all, I felt like I overpaid for the room. There are much less expensive hotels literally around the corner that I could have stayed in for roughly the same experience. Læs mere

The location of this hotel is the biggest plus. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again when in Dublin.

The staff at this hotel is wonderful. They are very helpful and friendly. You can't beat the location. It is close to everything on the south side of Dublin (and the north side isn't all that far either). The best thing is that it is just a few blocks from the Tourism Center, so information is close by.

We were extremely pleased with our hotel! The staff was wonderful, especially the concierge "Conor". The location is excellent and in walking distance to everything. Any request we made was granted immediately. The room was somewhat small but we are accustomed to this in Europe. It was very elegant. The shower was great with a nice deep tub. The hotel was very nice. Great room, nice sitting room and small gym. Best of all was the location. You could walk to anywhere in Dublin. The only drawback was the street noise on a Saturday night in Dublin. Maybe the rooms in back were quieter.

Without the stellar deal through hotels.com, we never would have been able to afford to stay here, but we're glad we did. It was central to everything, yet off the beaten path enough to leave the window open at night. It's a stuffy business hotel, but comfortable and has free internet usage in the basement in the residents' lounge.

The rooms, although a bit small, are very comfortable and clean. The maid service was excellent, and the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This hotel is located in an ideal location to see all that the Dublin City Centre offers - Grafton Street, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, famous pubs, etc. I will definitely stay at the Brooks […] Hotel again when next I'm in Dublin. Great service and location.

The Brooks is perfectly located in the best part of Dublin, with lots of nice pubs and restaurants and independent boutiques. Service at the hotel was better than a budget traveler like myself would expect: Written phone messages, chocolates on the pillow, newspapers at the front desk, etc. It had a nice-looking resident's lounge with two internet enabled […] PCs, and WiFi throughout building (as far as I could tell -- didn't try WiFi myself.) Rooms were tasteful, if on the small side. We had a cute bathtub which might have seem small to some but was just right for me (5'4"). If you were facing the parking garage across the street your view would've been not so nice, but Room 600, among others, looked at the Victorian-era market building across the street. Læs mere

Friendly helpful staff, great location, nice room. Could imporve comfort with nicer pillows, linens, and softer beds. Everything else was excellent.

We spent a lovely honeymoon here with fantastic service, great surrounding neighborhood, and elegant furnishings!

THEIR LIBRARY AND INTERNET ROOM LOCATED ON THE LOWER LEVEL IS WONDERFULLY QUIET, HOMEY, AND MOST OF ALL, THE INTERNET IS FREE. CENTRALLY LOCATED AND NEAR SHOPPING MAKES THIS A SPECIAL PLACE. WE WILL BE BACK

I stayed here for two days while I was visiting Dublin. The room had all the amenities I'd expect from a hotel of this class. The bed was extremely comfortable.The shower had good water pressure. The only negative I can offer is that the towels were just okay -- not very fluffy. The location was good -- within walking distance to Temple Bar, Grafton […] Street, St. Stephen's Green, Trinity College. One nice perk is the business center where you can print things for free. They also offer free wi-fi. However they do charge you to use the the line in the room -- even if you are using a phone card. If you misdial the number (as I did), you get multiple charges in the process of trying to place the call. One tip: the hotel staff may leave your window open so be sure to check and close it before trying to sleep -- since with an open window there can be quite a bit of noise from the street (from nearby pubs). With the window closed, noise was not a problem. The staff were extremely friendly and very responsive to any request. On the second day, when the concierge saw me for the first time, he seemed genuinely concerned that I had not sought him out for advice or help. The only disappointment was that my hotel room was not ready until after 3 p.m. -- although this is fairly standard in the hotel business and I had not thought to call ahead to ask for it to be ready earlier. This is my second stay at the Brooks Hotel. My first stay was in 2005. This hotel is absolutely perfect! It is a gorgeous little boutique hotel that is conveniently situated between Grafton Street/St.Stephen's Green and the Temple Bar area. It is within walking distance of many of Dublin's attractions. The hotel has a lovely modern decor, yet the rooms […] are very charming (decorated in a country-French style that you would expect to find in a B and B). They are fairly spacious, and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They offer their guests a pillow menu that allows them the opportunity to find the perfect pillow for their comfort. The restaurant offers delicious food. It is a bit pricey, but the quality of the food is excellent. I have travelled extensively throughout Ireland, and this is my all-time favorite Irish hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Es muy recomendable, la ubicación perfecta. Lo unico negativo es que el baño era un poco pequeño. Tambien el precio un poco alto , como la mayoria de hoteles en Dublin, teniendo en cuenta que no tiene desayuno incluido.

Nära till de mysiga shopping kvarteren och bra restauranger - hjälpsam och väldigt tillmötesgående personal - lyxiga rum - tillgång till trådlöst på hela hotellet

Et koselig lite hotel i Sentrum av Dublin. Liten avstand til de fleste fasiliteter. God mat og hyggelige omgivelser.
