Holiday Inn Long Beach - Downtown Area - Long Beach

Think hotel could use an additional shuttle.

The hotel was advertised as downtown long beach and this is in the ghetto There was homeless people all around this property and by no means is this downtown.

We didn't leave the hotel because the location was horrible. The pictures didn't represent the hotel at all, wouldn't stay again

Was alright for one night but the free shuttle service could be a bit more flexible. Hotel is very strict about how far they are willing to provide service for the shuttle. If you are there for the cruise and a bit of sight seeing then maybe stay closer to the cruise ship terminal.

Stayed on the 3rd floor, newly renovated rooms while I attended the Long Beach trade show. This Hotel was a last minute choice. I am recommending this Hotel to all my business associates. Everything was absolutely stellar from cleanliness, food, free shuttle and awesome staff.

This hotel was convenient for our venue, though the surrounding neighborhood is not one where I walk alone at night! They upgraded our room which was a pleasant surprise however people in the apartment behind the hotel were having a party which was VERY noisy. Not really the hotel's fault but an inconvenience nonetheless. The room was clean and comfortable, […] and the bed...out of this world! Very nice hotel for the price. Room was comfortable. Did not use the swimming pool so cannot comment on this. Customer Service was reasonable. Free internet access also provided. Free parking also provided.

Bad neighborhood. No secure parking.

I was expecting this hotel to be like the other Holiday Inn. It was more like a Travel Lodge. Shower didn't work in the first room that was given to us.

I really loved it except spa was dirty and not in service, and swimming pool was a bit icky..but room was great..and the shuttle a huge plus..TOMAS is awesome..:)

Can't say anything negetive, we had a false fire alarm and would have appreciated a fast responce of it status and the alarm being false turning off the alarm i had such a headache.

This is the ssecond time we have stayed at the Hotel prior to our trip to Catalina. We were able to get courtesy bus to a restaurant to eat and brought back when we were ready. They also gave us a ride to the Catalina Express so that we could catch the express and not have to worry about a place to park our car while we were gone. When we returned, […] they were ready available to pick us up and return to the Hotel and our car. The Lobby was clean and in good condition. Once I got off the elevator everything changed. The hall carpet was very old and it look like it was a run down rent by the hour rooms hotel at one time that they tried to fix up to look good, The furniture was the most ugly I have ever seen. The toilet was running when we checked in. When we came back later the room was flooded. They moved us to another "Non-smoking" room which stunk of cigaretts. I believe the smell was coming from the room next door with a adjoining door. As far as the neighborhood goes, the fountain in the front was turned off and the plumbing removed. My guess it was […] because the homeless were using to bath. In addition it smelled of urine. PU. If I had to do it again, I would spend another $25 and stay in a better part of town. Læs mere

The hotel is very modern and clean, the staff is wonderful. Food is mediocre, however the neighborhood was a bit scary. I felt completely safe in the hotel itself and was impressed by the decor and service, but would not want to stay in this neighborhood and did not feel at all safe about going out at night.

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn in Long Beach. There was a restaurant conveniently located in the hotel for breakfast and dinner - kids eat free! The swimming pool and jacuzzi were very nice and well maintained, free wifi service was available, and the complimentary shuttle service was absolutely wonderful. The entire staff was extremely friendly […] and courteous. We had one minor problem with ants in our room, but the maintenance worker and house keeping responded very quickly and remedied the issue. We stayed one night in the hotel and I say the staff and especially Karin and Delsey where super!! What a great service we had from them. I sure recommend this hotel and next time I will go back tom them, garanteed!!!!

This hotel might be a bit distant from the harbor view but it is a small yet quiet hotel. Very peaceful no disruptions from other guests. Very Clean and friendly staff.

I booked a two-double-bed room for the night of 18th of Feb 2011 for my family via hotles. com. When I got there about 9 o'clock in the night the staff in the frontdesk gave me a one-king-sized-bed room. The staffs are unwilling to respond requests. And they are unprofessional. Not a bad hotel at all. Room was clean and wifi was great. The nightly rate was competitive with other hotels in the area.

Hotel is very old, everything looks dirty. Definitely not a >3 star. Nothing is near by, but shuttle service was impressive. Breakfast at least 10 bucks. Neighborrhood is not too rough, but still not for a late night walk, anyway you take shuttle to everywhere. Metro train station is just a block away.

Not for those looking to walk to local attractions. The surrounding area of this hotel would not allow those without some courage to stroll around at night. While the inside of the hotel is a little worn, the staff was very friendly and cordial. Even with that they could not help remedy some issues I had with my shower that forced me to rethink using […] it for the 3 days I was there. Also be ready to stay up at night if they put you on the 2nd floor lever where the pool is. The foot traffic and noise lasted well into the wee hours of the night. Bring some ear plugs. I stayed at this same location last year, and thought I might have a second good experience again this year. But another year did not do any services to this property. Had reserved a room with 2 double beds, prepaid for two adults and two kids... Got there at 11pm (1am our time) and there were only king rooms available for our confirmed reservation. There were no rollaway beds available and they wanted to charge us for an additional room at the non-discounted rack rate so we could all have a bed to sleep in. The […] staff was very unwilling to do anything for us. They would not refund our reservation so we could go to another hotel. They would not give us a credit. They wouldn't even offer us breakfast. If you are a two people able to share a bed, the place is fine. If you have more than 2 people on your reservation, seriously reconsider your options. Læs mere

The hotel was okay for the price. My complaint is that I chose this hotel because it offered internet access, but it was down the 4 nights I was there. It would work in the lobby, but not in the rooms. I talked with the internet providers help line 5-6 times and they could not give me any advise other than to try the lobby. While saving 30% from the Ocean Blvd locations, this location doesn't lend itself to strolling...

The window of the room cannot be closed tightly. The closing mechanism of the window is broken. The noise from the street is terrible. For whatever reason, the hotel gave a a room for disabled. Therefore the bothroom has a very small dressing table and not bathtab. The room smells and aircon is noisy.

Everything was good. Remote control was the only thing that did not work. Which was okay.

Close to the airport - about 15 min drive. Offers complimentary shuttle around the area. Carpet needs to be changed, it gives an impression of a very old and dirty place.

The room was basic, the pillows were hard and the price too high for being "just a room". Also, my daughter and I had room service and the food was not cooked properly.

The service and staff were great. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The location could be a little closer to the waterfront or downtown though. You'll need transportation to explore the city.
