Red Roof Inn Kingsport - Kingsport

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn Kingsport in Tennessee. Pro's: comfortable bed, nice breakfast, swimming pool, nice shower. Con's: TV remote would not work and the desk said they couldn't do anything because the day-crew had already left for the evening....so, no tv. The TP dispenser was falling out of the bathroom wall.

The room was great and clean. Beds comfortable....breakfast was really good, had hot items on the breakfast bar not just basics like most places.

the room had past water damage that you can see they tried to fix, the remote did not work but I did have a problem with it just the kids. Overall if you just need to lay your head for the night then its fine for the money.

The only (minor) complaints I had were that the room smelled a little stale until we ran the fan for a bit, the pillows weren't as supportive as I would like, and the gravy for the biscuits at breakfast was a little thin (but tasted fine). Overall, the rooms were clean, though they could probably stand to update their carpet in the not too distant future. […] The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than we were expecting for the price of the room (hot- with eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, milk, juice). As I was looking only for an inexpensive, clean place to sleep before continuing my driving the next day, this was a fine place. The room was clean and fresh, though the bathtub was a little run down. Breakfast was adequate. There was some wierd humming noise that i heard off and on through the night, but apart from that no complaints. It was a little […] off the beaten path--about 15 minutes from US 81, as compared to the other motels that were just off the highway. Only one guest washing machine and dryer worked. Was there for a weekend soccer tournament. Had to wash uniforms and use just one. Easy to find with GPS. Bedspreads had burn holes in them. Staff was courteous and nice.

room was clean and fairly well maintained. Had a good continental breakfast and all staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint is TV remote didn't work and tv was extremely outdated as it appeared to be out of 80s maybe early 90s

My room was very clean and appeared to be recently refurbished. The bed was very comfortable, room was quiet, continental breakfast was very good and had a very good variety of items. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Front desk staff went out of their way multiple times to make my stay very nice. My room was very clean and bed and linens nice and very comfortable. I was traveling with a 15 month old and the staff all went out of their way to help me. Their breakfast was very nice also.

There was a dirty towel left hanging on the back of the bathroom door and dirt on the floor there as well. The toilet leaked when someone was sitting on it. The wall was poorly patched, there was a light bulb out, and the remote didn't work with the TV (I had to get a new one myself at the office or wait until the next day for housekeeping to bring […] one). Breakfast was descent. Desk clerk was polite. I was surprised at the issues that I had that they didn't offer any sort of discount or rate adjustment. Læs mere

The inn sits behind a closed-down restaurant so we didn't see the Red Roof Inn at first, but the landscaping and well-kept grounds were welcoming. Front desk staff were helpful, room was clean and seemed to be recently updated, and breakfast was decent - hot food, pastries, & fruit. It is very convenient. There are alot of eating places close by. There is a mall not far from there. The rooms were clean. The pool was nice. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very nice. We will definitely stay there again.

Our biggest disappointment was that we asked for a non-smoking room and knew as soon as we walked in the door, and every time we walked in the door, reminded us of the terrible stench of smoke. We could not see asking for another room knowing it was sold out due to the Bristol races. My husband also had a horrible time trying to change the channels […] on the tv remote. The buttons had about had it. My husband had to move the nightstand to use an outlet and there was a pile of cigarette ashes behind it. It was filthy as if no one moves anything to clean. Læs mere

Kind of shabby place. No luggage racks for your bags. Dirty carpets and marginally clean. Key didn't work in the door, tried 3 times to reprogram before staff had to come in and fix. Toilet barely flushed. But at least there were no bedbugs

Was reasonably priced, a bit worn but the staff was friendly and professional. Rooms were clean, tv only had about 5 channels, but I needed sleep so didn't really matter that much to me. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast was best on my trip but that's not saying a bunch: at least there was more than the normal carb load of a 'continental breakfast', i.e. […] the usual waffles and danishes and cereal and muffins. Red Roof added Sausage,Biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns and eggs. It was a bit of a fight to get the hot foods (they seem to only put out enough for 2 people at a time, even though there were about 10 of us.) It was in a business district area so I felt pretty safe. Overall a good experience; not great but certainly good value for the dollar. Læs mere

Great place. Staff were very courteous and breakfast was done well. The room was very clean. My only issue was it took 6-7 attempts each time to get the key to work. The front desk immediately wrote it down for the maintenance staff to fix. I would definitely stay again.

Hotel was alright.... had everything we needed for a weekend stay. Staff was nice. But they (the staff) really need to get a hold of the customers that hang out on the walkways to the rooms and hang out in the parking lots drinking and talking and yelling til all hours of the night. Called the front desk three time about it on two seperate nights and […] nothing was done... had to take care of problem myself.... taking that out of the equation ( will chalk it up to it was just a one off thing) I would stay there again. Our room had 3 small pillows for 2 people sleeping in a king sized bed. When I asked for extra pillows, I was informed that they only had 2 spare pillows behind the front desk for the entire hotel. There were no towels for the swimming pool. The bathroom was stocked with 2 face soap bars instead of a face soap bar and a bath soap bar. At the Red Roof Inn, My Fiance and I got there and the associate at the desk was not what we expected. We showed her a quote for the room, and she said that we could not have the rates that were quoted. Also the room leaked; water went everywere from the bathroom and when i told the associate about it in the morning, all she said was ok, have a nice […] day, not concerned if any of our valuables were damaged or anything. The complex looked run down in general. The room was long over due a remodel and the cable was not working. The TV looked like a 1970 model, not that that mattered. The toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall. The Wi Fy was unstable. The last paint job must have been done by a paint ball team.

It has a nice pool. Complementary breakfast was decent. The room was just like all inexpensive hotel rooms, but was just fine for an overnight stay. The staff could be a little more professional.
