Da vi kom til hotellet fik vi en lille skoæske at bo i. Jeg kom med mine to børn, og vi tre mennesker skulle sove i en 120-seng! Men heldigvis havde jeg læst tidligere anmeldelser, hvor en anden havde skrevet, at da de kom til hotellet, sagde de, at der var overbooket, så de måtte sove et andet sted den første nat. Med det i baghovedet gik jeg med det […] samme til receptionen og klagede min nød. Vi fik et andet værelse, hvor der var plads til en ekstra seng den første nat. Dagen efter blev vi rykket til et større værelse med en stor seng, hvor vi godt kunne sove i alle tre. Det var alt det brok, jeg kunne komme med. Resten af vores 9 dage var FANTASTISKE. Det er SÅ søde mennesker, der arbejder på det hotel. De er enormt hjælpsomme. Det er flotte og rene værelser. Der er en flot lounge, hvor man kan få morgenmad (børn spiser gratis i følge med voksne), der er to computere med internetadgang, og der er den mest fantastiske tagterrasse med flot udsigt til Empire State. Morgenmaden er god og varieret med både cornflakes, bagels, yoghurt, juice, kaffe, te, muffins mm. Hotellets beliggenhed er super med kort afstand til alt. Det er fedt, hvis man har været ude meget af dagen, så kan man lige tage "hjem", snuppe sig en kop te og slappe lidt af i loungen eller på tagterrassen, inden man tager videre ud i byen. Fint hotel med god beliggenhed. Personalet var meget hjælpsomme. Væreslerne er små (men det er de i New Tork), men de er fint indrettet, og rengøringen var fin.

Et ophold på The Marcel at Gramercy opfylder alle ønsker. Perfekt beliggenhed med suveræn tagterrasse på 10. etage med den smukkeste udsigt til Empire State og New York Skyline. Yderst imødekommende service og imødekommenhed fra alle ansatte. Rene håndklæder og en redt seng hver dag. Lige rundt om hjørnet v. Street 23. ligger en super italiensk restaurant, […] som også anbefales af hotellet - det holder. Masser af stemning og god mad. The Marcel ligger perfekt og kun 25 min. gåtur til fx Union Square og 35 min gåtur til Meatpacking District. Downtown, East Village er et rigtig godt valg mht. hotel, hvor The Marcel at Gramercy ligger. Meget positiv og kan kun give hotellet min bedste anbefaling. VI spiste ikke morgenmad på hotellet. Vi spiste fx på Le Pain Quetidien el. købte brød hos WholeFoods og sad i parkerne og spiste sammen med forretningsfolk, turister, hjemlæse m.fl. Selve hotellet var i orden, det laa centralt og tilpas taet paa det ene og det andet. Der var dog vaesentlige problemer med bookingen af hotellet. Vi havde booket et rum med 2 queen senge, men da vi ankom fik vi at vide at vi kun havde booket een enkelt mands seng til 5 personer og der var ingen diskussion. Vi skulle derfor betale ekstra for at faa […] en queen seng og der var ingen andre vaerelser til os. 2 maatte sove paa gulvet. Læs mere

Super dejligt hotel i et hyggeligt kvarter. Meget nemt at komme til downtown med metroen.

Faktisk et rigtig godt hotel. Super service og egentlig rimelig fed indretning. Jeg har hørt rygter om at værelser er meget små, så vi lejede et med 2 dobbeltsenge og udsigt til 3rd Ave. Det var alle pengene værd. Et hotel jeg gerne villle overnatte på igen.

The Marcel at Gramercy is great in any way. Location is perfect (sightseeing things is very near by, supermarket 50 meters, Bagel Express 30 meters), rooms cleaned every day, very helpful staff, free computers with internet and a VERY nice view from the roof deck. Everything looks brand new.

Da vi nåede frem til hotellet, fik vi at vide, at der havde været en vandskade, og at vi derfor skulle indlogeres på et andet hotel, som lå mange gader væk. Egentlig havde vi begge en mistanke om, at grunden var, at de havde overbooket, og da vi havde betalt på forhånd, var det meget irriterende. Vi oplevede flere, der fik den samme besked. Næste dag […] var vores værelse dog klart. Vi havde specifikt valgt hotellet netop pga. dets beliggenhed. Ellers var hotellet ok. Værelset var lille, men rent og udmærket. Great customer service! My experience with the hotel staff was excellent. They helped me with requests when I checked in and out to get transportation etc.

No fault of yours. This was the smallest room I ever stayed in. Barely enough room to turn around in. Also, it was a very chilly night, and there was no heat. The room service did supply my wife and me with an extra blanket, and a space heater. I enjoyed entertaining my guests in the 10th floor lounge

Customer service was very good. Was disappointed with the Polar lounge. 10th floor sun deck was nice but was shocked at the cost of continental breakfast. Overall not worth the price!

Showed up at the hotel and they didn't have the room i had prepaid for. Got moved cross-town into a noisy room in an inconvenient location.

Hot water took a real long time to come and on last day there it never came. Floors were uneven and creaked alot. Lumpy bed. Shower plumbed backward (hot water was where cold should be) Real nice folks at the desk and at the door. Very helpful

I've stayed here several times and it's my new favorite NYC hotel. This is a stylish place with nice amenities, a great staff, in a location that makes it easy to get downtown or uptown or just mill around. The rooms are small compared to the big chain hotels, but they are comfy and chic. Winebar & restaurant attached for late night dining.

I have stayed here three times. The desk clerks are very helpful and the doormen are cheerful and always ready to answer questions. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. Brilliant use of a small space without feeling cramped. Love the view from the rooftop terrace. The drians were very slow, the TV did not work and a few other issues that were annoying, but I had no problem dealing with. However, the Bar in the basement - I believe it's called Polar or something like that - is the worst experience of my trip. Rude and obnoxious. The staff members were efficient and friendly; the room clean and quiet, apart from occasional noise from returning fellow guests at night; the 10th floor with free coffee and computers exceptionally guest-friendly' ; the location perfect for sightseeing and subway. Felt new and clean. All staff members encountered--front desk, cleaning, and bellboys--were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great price for limo service back to LaGuardia Airport. Only 1 complaint -- not enough surfaces (tables, shelves) to put items on. No counter space in bathroom. Highly recommend hotel.

Great hotel in a perfect location. Staff were very friendly and hard working. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Only thing I was concerned about was the noise from the hallway, the door didn't seem to be insulated very well and I was afraid the noise in the hallway would keep me up at night. My wife and I booked a room for 4 nights. The price was attractive. The hotel was clean and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Our room was quiet but needed real work. The window seams for an unknown reason were covered with duct tape and lighting in the room was poor. We had a view out the window of a wall less than five feet away. The bathroom […] was very basic and when I went to shower the entire shower head flew off. It was easy for me to to fix, but annoying. The bathroom fan was the loudest I have ever heard. The hotel is a short ( 5 minute) walk from the subway, and amenities in the area were good. I went to sleep every night knowing that all rooms look the same in the dark, and the bed was good. Conclusion : Very attractive price, but in the end, we got what we paid for, a budget experience for a budget price. Læs mere

Great place; superb service; exceptional value.

There was no hot water in the hotel. Also we were originally in a tiny room with a dirty sheet on the bed, but after we complained about the hot water we were moved to a slightly larger and much more noisy room.

I recently stayed at the Marcel at Gramercy because I had a business meeting in NYC. At first, it started out great. The decor is very trendy and there is an electronic fireplace in the lobby. Lindsey at the front desk was very helpful and nice. I had made some requests about the room while booking and she was able to fulfill them. When I got to my […] room, it was also trendy and cute. It was small, but not as small as I was expecting (1 person with a double bed). It would have been nice if they had the racks for the suitcase, especially since its NYC and with the bed bug problem in the city its best not to put your belongings on the floor. Speaking of bed bugs, I searched under the mattress and did not notice any sign of them and the room was very clean. I was concerned about the fact that my room was right next to the elevator, since I would need to get my sleep while everyone else was out partying. I asked the front desk twice if they could move me, but they said there were no other rooms available and they were completely booked. I'm not sure that I believed them- it was a weekday during a non-tourist heavy month. When I finally went to bed there were no problems, but between 1:30-3:30 am I was constantly woken up by the elevators and the people in them. Needless to say, I was very frustrated and annoyed by this as I had to be awake before 5 am. You can't expect a hotel to be silent all the time, but this was much more noise than in any hotel I've ever stayed at. In summary, the staff at the front desk and the doorman (Raul) were really great, the decor is neat, but this is not the place to stay if you are on business or another important trip as it will be very hard to sleep. This is a wonderful small hotel. Everything about the hotel was great except that my room was incredibly noisy due to street noise (cars/trucks) all night. My room faced the strret and was near the corner of 3rd avenue. I will go back but will request a room on the other side of the hotel. All else terrific.

Not really in Gramercy, but the main problem was the teeny tiny rooms - the doors practically hit the bed. There was not even room for a closet, just a bench with drawers, and barely a walkway around the bed. The single narrow window looked at a dark, sunless alley that was as good as no window. The first room we were shown had no window. Not for clausterphobics. Also, […] we ordered a 6 pm wake-up call in order to nap before going to a show, and it never came. Very good...everything was great

I have stayed in 5 NYC hotels in the past 2 months alone, and this is by far the smallest room I have come across. It is also the cheapest and the quality of the service and the cleanliness make it a place I would recommend to someone on a budget. Couples looking for a good time, go somewhere else. Business travel alone, good choice.

expect the rooms to be teeeny tiny! We were upgraded, and even then we spent the whole night tripping over everything. Otherwise, perfect

This is an inexpensive hotel in a convenient location. The rooms are small, the bathroom smaller, but it was clean. Rooms have newer decor, but need major work to bring them up to modern building standards. Don't go if you are expecting luxury, it is not that kind of hotel. If you want something affordable and safe this is the hotel for you.

When I called for the reservation as well as when we showed up I was told we would have the existing bed and a cot. The room was SO small there was no room for a cot. My daughter and I had to sleep in this 3/4 size bed together which was uncomfortable.If they had attempted to put a cot in there it would have blocked the doorway- if there had been a […] fire there would have been no way out. We stayed at The Marcel for six nights. We arrived in the middle of the night, 12 h delayed due to the snow storm. We felt welcomed when we arrived and got a room on the second floor facing a back yard ( no distruption from outside:-) THe room was nice, small but clean. The room with a king size bed is tiny. The HVAC unit sounds like a large aircraft is landing in the room. The bathroom is impossible to turn around in and the bathtub had a slow drain so you would stand in about 2" of water. The claim of cable channels was limited to the most basic channels, including 3 channels of NY1. Nice place...only downfall small beds. My husbands feet were off the edge, but overall for a NYC hotel at the price can't beat it :)

Relatively new conversion from apartments. The rooms are average size for NYC (i.e., very small for the price compared to any other US city). Our room had a single small window that looked out on a brick wall, but I am not complaining. An interior window is a blessing, because there was no street noise. The quality of the staff in particular Michael and Mark were out of this world.. We had a few issues eg the window didnt close properly and the general conditions of the windows weren't that good so it was a bit loud at night..
