Ayre Hotel Astoria Palace - Valencia

Located in the centre of the city. Close to lots of restaurants and shops. Our room was dark and old, but I think some of the other rooms have been renovated recently.

I enjoyed my stay at the Astoria Palace, the location was brilliant, really close to both the main squares in the old town and easy to reach the city tour bus stop in Plaza de Torros or Plaza de la Reina. The excellent breakfast buffet was made particularly good by the stunning views from the 9th floor restaurant. Everything about the hotel exceeded my expectations - from the staff, location, and overall appearance and conditions of the hotel. The hotel loaned us a wheelchair at no charge and payed special attention to the needs of my wife and her medical needs. My next trip to Valencia will definitely include staying at this outstanding hotel.

Nice sized room and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful at recommending an authentic restaurant to eat paella. Cheap parking was available nearby on the street.

Could not fault it, truly excellent

This hotel was everything I had hoped for in Valencia. It was very easy to get to from the airport and to the train station and was right in the middle of the city! Amazing hotel for a great deal. In the perfect location to see the sites of Valencia. Overall, the hotel provided an ejoyable experience.

Great location, helpful staff, clean and quiet.

We stayed for a few days in march 2012, the hotel was in a fantastic location everything inside the hotel is bright and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Only one issue for us was our hotel room was near some sort of noisy ventilation system which started mid morning and continued until early evening. It wasn't a huge issue as it want […] early morning or late night but it was very irritating when we returned to the room in the day. Apart from that everything was great. I would recommend this hotel, its a great location and its very clean inside. Despite the noisy ventilation system on our end of the corridoor we would stay again, just maybe not on the top floor. The Astoria Palace offers the perfect place to stay in Valencia! The hotel, staff, and location were all we hoped for during our visit to Spain. Be sure to try out the lovely bar and lounge in the hotel. The walls are a little thin so noise was an issue when trying to sleep in. Ask for a room on the all non-smoking 4th floor and avoid rooms on the 8th […] floor due to lower water pressure in the shower. This hotel is amazing with a little plaza out front and within walking distance of many restaurants and stores of all types from bargain shops to Louis Vuitton! Good hôtel

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The room was very comfortable, the bed was great. We reserved one of the upper rooms which had been completely redone. Definitely go for the upper room, totally worth it! The hotel is in a perfect location to walk throughout the beautiful old part of Valencia. We were visiting […] our daughter who is studying in Valencia for the semester and we were so close to her also. There is a very pretty little plaza with a fountain right outside the hotel. Wonderful places to eat very close by too. The staff at the hotel were so nice and helpful. Most spoke English and we had no trouble communicating. The free wifi was great. You just have to ask for a code every 24 hours which was no big deal. They would bring it up to your room or you could ask at the front desk. We did not eat the breakfast buffet. It wasn't included in our rate. We did go up to the 9th floor where it was served and it was a beautiful setting with a great view of the city. We ate breakfast around the corner at a little place called Pasticceria Ballaro. Would definitely recommend the cafe con leche and canollis from there. Delicious! 6-8 minutes walk from station. Cafes/restuarants just across the road. Very nice room on the 9th floor for breakfast which was very good. All hot food cooked to order with the rest as buffet service. Has fridge in the room. Only had 1 pillow per bed but no problem asking for more. About a 4 minute walk to tourist bus routes.

I stayed 4 nights in Feb. 2012 for a business trip. The location is really perfect since it's very close to all the sightseeing locations with many shopping and dinning places, which are very nice to have besides all business on the days. The room is clean but in very old condition. Noises can be heard. The room is equiped with very simple things only. […] No coffee pot, big desk, alarm clock, for examples. I requested for a power adapter everyday since day 1, but never got it at all after 4 nights staying. The receptions were with good service spirit, but still could not come up with one adapter. Wireless LAN is provided upon request only and had to get new sets of password at front desk everyday. The worse part is that the band width is so low that some on-line games could not log into its networks on my iphone or android system flat panel. we spent 5 nights between christmas and new year 2011/12. the hotel is quite modern with wifi and well equipped rooms. very calm. very pleasant breakfast room and dining room at top floor overlooking the city. good for both tourism and business. walking distance from the cathedral, metro/bus and north train station. only minus is maybe a rather 'cold' […] atmosphere in the hotel due to the decoration from the 80s. I liked a lot of things about this hotel. The staff was very friendly and spoke good English. They offered showers and king size beds which didn't appear to be standard amonst hotels in the area, and there was free bottled water left in our refrigerator each day. It was located in the center of the city within walking distance to many historic buildings, […] museums and shops. A beautiful water fountain was across from the hotel, where we dined by candlelight several times during our stay. The complimentary wireless internet was also nice, but a little inconvenient to use. Nice hotel, didn't get to explore much due to work schedule. Room good, but bathroom old and bath not as clean around the tiling as it should have been. Pleasant staff. Business office (free) good for internet access if you don't have a computer. Good location.

I can highly recommend this hotel for value for money and in a great location. Right in the heart of the cities centre. Very modern hotel with all the mod con's you would expect of a 4 star hotel. Very clean and there is a secure car park just around the corner from the hotel which is 19 Euro per day. Can highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel very well situated for the old centre and travel links (metro and train station both 8 mins walk away), staff friendly and helpful. Room on the slightly small side, but a comfortable bed and had everything you need.except one thing. As with hotels in England we'd have liked the facility to make a cup of tea or coffee in the room. This hotel was far better than we ever expected. It is in an ideal location for exploring the charming streets of Valencia. An added bonus is that it is an easy walk to the Valencia Nord station and a short cab ride to the high speed trains to the rest of Europe. The only negatives here were 1) finding the hotel initially (my fault, should have had a better map) and 2) Car parking charges (not by the hotel, it doesn't have it's own car park). Otherwise everything was perfect from arrival to departure! The rooms are large and modern and elegent. Also quiet. Bar and restaurant pricing fair for the quality of service […] and food. You only have to step out of the door to be at the heart of the city. Making sightseeing a breeze and there are more restaurants and bars everywhere. Hotel is located in a beautiful plaza close to shops and restaurants. Parking is also close and relatively cheap. Rooms are dated with an interested odor in the hallways (at least on the third floor). Restaurant attached to hotel is pretty good, staff is great.

the hotel is located in a nice area and most everything is within an easy walk for cafes, restaurants, sights, souvenir shops, etc. the train station is only a 10 minute walk so getting in and out was not an issue at all. the staff were friendly and they upgraded us to a bigger suite since our room had a problem with the electronic door lock. i would […] stay here again for the price we paid to say for a few nights. if you are looking for a nice place to use as your main base then this is for you. if you require a 5-star service on your vacation, then you should look to another hotel. I never write reviews but I felt compelled to write a review for Ayre Hotel Astoria Palace! The customer service was the best out of all the hotels I stayed at in Spain. The front reception was incredible with helping make my trip in Spain a memorable one! Thanks for everything

First, the rooms are huge, much bigger than I expect in most European hotels. The floors are a little worn, but everything is very clean. The staff is attentive, very nice, and generally speaks very good English. However, if you need a solid wifi connection (e.g. for a business trip) then this is probably a poor choice. There is wifi in the hotel, […] and it is relatively fast - but it is only accessible in small portions of the hotel (i had luck on the 1st and 2nd floors near the stairwell, and nowhere else). Also, the wifi passwords they give you only work for an hour - which requires planning when you will be kicked off of the internet - and acquiring dozens of passwords over the day. This is probably a much bigger deal for me than most, and the wifi is reasonable if you are only looking to check your e-mail once a day. Beyond that it will be annoying. Læs mere

This is a wonderful hotel with an amazing staff and in a great location! This hotel is very difficult to locate. We drove around in circles forever then finally parked and walked into the hotel. It was all the one way streets that had us baffled!,

Family of 5 shared two rooms. Hotel is convenient to everything and the staff is incredibly accommodating. Parking is offsite but just around the corner. Would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the beautiful city of Valencia.

Excellent hotel, right in the middle of town. Very quiet. Nice rooms, friendly staff. Internet is free, but needs a new code every hour, so get a few codes from the reception at a time. Shower kept Changing Temperature....very hot to cold.

The location and situation of the hotel were faultless. Close to everything and the picturesque piazza was like something out of a film. Staff were lovely. I didn't eat there so can't comment about the food. The only issue I had was I booked a non-smoking room and they gave me a smoking room. I didn't realise it until the my 2nd day and at the time […] I was too tired to ask for it to be changed. Therefore I couldn't have the aircon on and in 30 degree celsius heat, that was unpleasant. Excellent Hotel. Great location, very quiet and enjoyable. We highly recommend it and will stay here again on my next visit.

The location is the reason for recommending this hotel. It did not have as many amenities as some of the other hotels we stayed at on our trip. The halls and rooms do not look like they have been updated for many years. It did not give off a bright and cheery ambiance.

The hotel was just another large business type hotel. It was in a good location and we enjoyed walking around the area. Not much character in the hotel but it is convenient.

Pros: beautiful setting, helpful staff, clean hotel, good sized room for Europe. Cons: Only about 7 channels were available on the flatscreen TV. The digital portion of the TV channel lineup could only provide pixelated channels and the working channels were the lesser quality analog channels.
