Stayed week before Easter 2012. Fabulous grounds, pool, hot tub, ocean front beach swimming area. Room was elegant. Mini fridge provided. Close to all types of shopping, conveniences, resturants etc... One of the kids contracted an ear infection on the trip and the hotel immediately called a doctor who diagnosed and wrote a prescription right in our […] room. Stayed here for business and the hotel was very clean! Pool is nice and the grounds are well maintained. The food is pricey. The bartenders and waiters in the bars/restaurants were excellent! We got the room for a nice deal and was much less than the Holiday Inn for the same dates.

Hotel was great, clean and comfortable access to pool and beach. Wonderful view from hotel room. Would definitely return. Staff friendly.

Price of food was to high for what you got and buffet was repeated frequently. Service was slow most of time. Best service came from front desk and attendants outside in front of hotel. A manager over the food and beverage i believe saw i wasn"t being waited on and took my order and promply got the food out.But it was the excepton. i believe his name […] was Juan.Beach needs to be cleaned up and manicured. I would invest in some lighter colored sand and spread it in front and farther down the beach..Do things exceptional not just good. Læs mere

The rooms are comfortable. However, the hotel restaurant La Cava is EXTREMELY slow, took us over an hour to be served dinner and the food served was cold. This occured more than once. The Sancho's Sushi restaurant had excellent service and good food. The casino was subpar and had the lingering smell of cat urine. The bar in the casino was closed and […] you had to go to the hotel lobby bar just to grab a beer or any other drink. This was very annoying. The casino had numerous slot machines and a handful of table, but really no variety compared to other places in the Caribbean. I seriouslly couldn't wait to get out of their casino. If you are into casino action don't waste your time here. Go to St. Martin or the Marriott in St. Kitts. Læs mere

very nice stay the only problem is that you dont have enough options around to eat outside the Hotel area

We had a pleasant stay at Ponce Hilton on December. The room was great, big, comfortable and very good decorated. The room service was perfect. They also did great activities for the people staying at the hotel.

The housekeeping service was as bad as it can get, other than that hotel facilities were great... Lots of thugs to do by the pool!!

You get what you pay for. The resort is clean and maintained but dating. The great room/breakfast room is far too dark and need to be more open to nature. Some color accents should be added absolutely. Great service at reception desk and la Cava restaurant but very poor at the pool bar and breakfast room.

Great service,the room was excellent and the hotel is located in a great place(the mall,movies and stores are all close by).....the casino was good too.

At first the hotel lobby seemed a little dated. But, the staff was so friendly and helpful with offering good local restaurants, giving directions and assisting setting up tours with local providers, we had the best experience. Loved the room!! This is a nice hotel, probably the nicest in Ponce, but it could be better. There is nothing really to complain about, just better places (not in Ponce) in the Hilton group that made it a bit of a let-down for us. Everything is very good and it is difficult to describe the reasons why we felt let-down but we felt that way just the same. If you approach […] your own stay here without any undue expectations you will probably have a great time. In retrospect, our expectations were probably too high to begin with. The place really rocks at night and the pool area is the best feature of the hotel. Be careful of the room location you get, however, as many of the rooms are a great distance from where the action is and you will spend a lot of time walking. The "executive wing" is a prime example - too far away from the hotel center. The beach access is really good from the central pool area, once you get there (to the central pool area from your room). Getting a room that is close to the central area could make a lot of difference, be a big plus. The hotel complex, resort, is somewhat isolated from the city center so walking to town is out of the question. The room service food is okay, nothing to write home about; but the breakfast in the main restaurant is very good. Overall, there are much nicer places to stay in Puerto Rico, but not in Ponce. I recently stayed at the Ponce Hilton with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel employees were all very friendly and helpful. We got a room upgrade which I really enjoyed since we were there to celebrate my birthday. The bed is super comfy, I slept like a baby. The Cava Restaurant has delicious food and great atmosphere. Stayed at the Hilton Resort in Ponce, PR, for 4 days/3 nights....and couldnt be happier!! Hotel is huge and its amenities are awesome. Huge casino, the pool is not too big or deep, but its always warm and super safe for kids, it has a net for volleyball playing inside the pool... they also have a playground for kids nearby, tennis court, and mini golf. […] The beach is nice for tanning while enjoying a drink or reading a good book, but not for swimming, hence its sand is volcanic (dark). Very nice Restarurant & its food is delicious! Personnel is phenomenal... super friendly! All of their rooms are NON-smoking which was a great advantage... and very well kept and CLEAN!!! Repairs needed and reported were not ever addresses during our stay. Guest elevator was out of service for 5 days. The first day there was no out of order signage or direction to the service elevator which was out of site in an alcove. Should have an indoor eating area for those who do not want to fight the birds for their breakfast. Getting pool towels […] after beach cabana closed was very difficult, staff would promise them and never show up to our poolside location. It was not noted anywhere that you could not swim or get pool towels after dark. Lastly and the worst example of hotel customer service I have ever experienced. I waited 20 minutes under the concierge sign, was one person on duty at the front desk when I arrived, she did acknowledge me and say she would get to me as soon as she could. A few minutes later two gentlemen came behind the counter to (I assume) sign on, neither acknowledged me. Finally asked if there was a concierge on duty, one of the gentlemen with out even looking up (no eye contact) said we will be with you as soon as we can, I commented that they should help guests in the order they arrived, again the same gentleman with out looking up said in a very rude, stern voice said yes mame. Millie finally was able to assist me and she was very helpful. The next evening I went to the front dest to attempt to speak to the MOD about all of these issue and it was the same young man that I felt treated me so rudely. So I chose not to speak to him in fear of his attitude. When I checked out on Sunday October, I spoke to RoseMarie, she was very nice and very kind and resondedly appropriatly with an apology to my concerns. Læs mere

I really enjoy staying at the Ponce Hilton. Overall nice hotel. We expected a bigger pool and a nicer beach but you get what you pay for. The food & drink prices were very pricey during our stay.

In overall everything was good. Good breakfast buffet. The pool is open 24hours.The employees treat very nice.

We were very delighted with our stay at the Ponce Hilton. The breakfast was great the activities were great. The beach is not the prettiest but it was ok.

We had a lot of fun here. We typically come to PR a few times a year and stay in some of the quieter places and avoid the resorts. We did enjoy the hotel quite a bit, and when we wanted the less crowded side of things we went over to the golf course side. Excellent service, Especially Rosemarie that was on the golf side. She didn't speak much english, […] but went out of her way to understand us and get us want we wanted. She came back often to make sure we were all set. Really wish the beach access was open later. I only stayed two nights, but I was sooo comfortable with this hotel. Everything was mint clean, hotel service and friendliness of staff was number one priority. Check-in and check-out was super fast...Bell staff were very efficient, view from balcony to the pool was very pretty, beach vollyball court, basketball court, playground, all restaurants met […] our needs. We were a group of eight with mostly teenage kids and everybody was very pleased. Did not use the casino, but it was full all the time. Breakfast buffet was incredible, all you can eat with a great variety (you should buy the breakfast package if you buy online through a travel website, that way you may get it for as low as $10 per adult..kids eat free), otherwise a little pricey ($19)..Food and drinks are pricey (..and delicious too!!), if you're on a budget, then I suggest eat outside the hotel. Self parking is about $8 per day, but you cannot park outside the hotel and walk..it's too far. The City of Ponce (and Ponce Hilton) does not have a nice beach...if you're looking for an amazing turquoise water beach Ponce is not the place, in that case, go to La Guancha and rent a boat for snorkeling or a day at Caja de Muerto Island off Ponce..The Hilton staff will give you all the info you need...Go to the main square, the old fire house..eat at El Archipielago", right in front of the old fire house, try an ice cream from the parlor right in fron of the main square, take the trolley to the main attractions ($2 p.p., buy the ticket in the morning as the go down fast and close early), visit the Castillo Serralles museum...the view from there is breathtaking and the gardens are gorgeous, right above that is Cruceta El vijia, a lookout tower, but I recommend Castillo Serralles for better pictures of the city, since the glass from the windows of Cruceta El Vijia are foggy and your pictures will come out foggy too, but at this lookout you will also enjoy the Japanese garden which is small but pretty too...There are a Læs mere

The rooms where great. I was disappointed with the beach are. It is not really a swimming beach, the water was not blue and the sand was not white. There is a nicer beach about 1/2 hour away with sandy beaches and clear blue water.. That was the only drawback we found. We came to Ponce Hilton for the second time. The room have been remodel with new furniture and LCD TV. They are remodeling the rooms in the first floor. very good breakfast. We enjoy walking in the fitness room. We went to Plaza Caribe and another Mall at Comercio Street. We visited the old Firefighters Station and the Plaza. Our goal was to relax and little else, and this hotel served our needs for that. Lots of shaded areas around the nicely designed pool area; the pool bar was comfortable and convenient. Bartenders and pool servers were polite but didn't go out of their way to be sociable. Servers in La Cava, La Terraso and the Asian restaurant at the clubhouse were great. […] Everyone but the cleaning staff were bilingual (Spanish-English), so communication is no problem. The small beach was beautiful, with many palm trees and taupe sand; however, there is a fence surrounding the property that locks you off the beach after 6 pm, which was inconvenient (issues with non-guests trespassing, I think). The fence is covered with landscaping on each end of the property, so the view is blocked from the first couple floors, especially if you get a room on the far west tower. The area is VERY windy, so after getting pelted with sand for a half-hour, we ended up by the pool or our room's patio most of the time. The hotel is ~10 min. drive from Ponce and not far from groceries, if you can manage the strange driving habits and signage. If you have a car, drive to the clubhouse instead of trusting the shuttle after 5:00; we waited 30 minutes for it and had to call them twice. La Cava is very good, though expensive; I'd stick with the seafood dishes there. The Asian restaurant was also excellent, and the prices were actually reasonable by resort standards. The La Terrassa buffet is large but hit-or-miss in flavor; eat there if you're starving and enjoy watching ducks, turtles and fish; plus, it was only open on weekends. If you want to be lazy and accept that you'll spend a lot for food, this hotel will work well. The place is a little more animated on weekends, but gloriously calm during the week. We didn't go to the casino, but it stayed very busy compared to the rest of the hotel. Læs mere

The service, cleanliness, upkeep and beauty of this hotel was outstanding. The people we had contact with (front desk, pool, spa, restaurants, etc) all spoke English beautifully and we so friendly and helpful. The hotel was full for most of our stay, but since so many there stay on business, the pools and beaches were practically private (one day we […] shuttled to the caribe pool and it was just us for hours). My husband and son got snorkel masks (no charge!) and were able to see great stuff with their bellies still on the sand (they walked down from the -also empty- main beach for a minute or two.) It was like having our own private beach, pool and facilities. We all loved the mini golf, giant playing cards, basketball court, pools, private beaches (rarely saw anyone else there) Did I mention all these activities were free? The location was great for us - felt much safer and more relaxed than San Juan - not to mention less expensive for a more 'puerto rican' experience. Also the hotel had restaurants, but since they were expensive (what you would expect at any beautiful resort hotel) we did go out for most meals. La Guancha is about 5 minutes away (boardwalk) and has a ton of place to eat, drink and dance (or watch others dance). There were also plenty of choices in town - in addition to all the fast food options we know from the states. In the Ponce square, there were tons of museums - many more than you would expect in a town this size. If you are coming to PR to party and drink, you may want to stay in SJ, but if you want to have family, couple or relaxing time, Ponce would be a better (and less expensive) option. If we go back to PR, we would definitely do it this way. Some of our meals here for 5 cost about the same as for 1 person did when we went back to San Juan! Læs mere

The hotel is a very beautiful resort, but there is not much to do. The beach is not really suited for swimming. There is only one bar at the hotel (by the pool) and there is no live music available anywhere. The "lounge" connected to the casino only had bingo when it was open. And the casino definitely didn't have the excitement of Vegas. In town, due […] to the time of year we heard, most restaurants were closed. We drove both to the west and to the east looking for beaches for swimming and snorkeling, but never found any. We were glad to leave early and get back on the San Juan side of the island. Læs mere

The room was very clean with great view of the ocean, but if you have the parking lot side the mountains were also pretty in the distance. The staff was very friendly and not carrying a card to show room # was also great when going to the beach or pool and ordering drinks and food. The location was close to area sights we wanted to see. Entertainment […] was a DJ and on Sat. there was a group playing, but the DJ was better for us. On Sunday the place was dead because locals left to go to work the next day. Love staying in Ponce, my husband is from Ponce and we always have to stay at least a few dats when in Puerto Rico. The staff actually knows us from staying every year...they are always helpful and accomodating from parking, room service, resturants to cleaners. Definitly will continue to stay at the Ponce Hilton.

loved the hotel hated the $ 10.00 parking a day its a rip off

Valet and front desk personnel very helpful!!! The waiters at the open air restaurant by the pond, they all need to be replaced, seemed they just did not want to be there. Also, no waiters by the pool area or the activities cabana, too busy hanging out among themselves.

There is a lot to do on this hotel, starting with the food (little pricy I would say), pool and beach (watch out for mosquitos after dark), tennis, vollybal, I believe I saw a basketball court (not 100% sure), casino, and at night we went dancing at the lounge were they had a DJ music one night and a live band on Saturday night, really nice, we found […] the drinks for less money outside of the hotel, but the convenience was worth it. It was overall a good experience and I will definately use the same hotel next time I go there. Læs mere

Por retrasos del hotel al momento del check in nos asignaron una suite. Amplia, comoda, en un lugar privilegiado. El hotel es perfecto tanto para familias con ninos como para parejas. Si no disponen de transportaci'on el hotel puede resultar un poco lejos del centro de Ponce.
