Comfort Inn Ship Creek - Anchorage

Staff was exceptionally helpful with some problems we were having witty our airline connections.

I stayed twice, two different rooms. The second stay was in room 103 or 107, can't remember which. Everything was nice about the room except the gap under the door. The gap under the door to the hallway was probably 3". It was absolutely HUGE. Had to block the light with pillows to sleep.

The halls were noise and it didn't help that there was a 2" gap at bottom of the dood. you could see straight into the hallway.

Shower did not work - was reported and then not fixed. Phone did not work - pulled out bed to see if it was plugged in - found moldy food and piles of junk/dirt behind bed. reported this - was never fixed. Fan in bathroom made racket - was fixed. comforter was torn and dirty - was fixed. offered another room as we were going out for dinner on last night […] of stay. Had reservations and could not move at this time. Had been at hotel for a few hours - of course they could not leave a message as the phone did not work. Good thing it was walking distance to all the Fur rondy events. Would never recommend this facility or stay here again. Should be taken off of Hotels.com. Læs mere

Room was nice. was told was hot tub by pool. no hot tub! Heated pool was very very cold. could not use.

All in all was a very good stay, they took good care of our room we were there ten days, and best of all we got to bring My baby gator our dog which is a Pit with a nice creek behind the hotel for us to walk,

The location was perfect for riding the train to Denali, an easy walk to the train station. We stayed another night after the train returned us to Anchorage and they stored our big luggage while we were gone so we only had to take a carry-on for the train trip. The breakfast was more than adequate and the shuttle driver to the airport was very helpful. […] My only complaint was that the air conditioner in the last-night room was screechy, but it was cool enough that I just turned it off after awhile. Comfortable hotel in a lovely location. My only complaint is that they have removed the two wonderful OLD leather chairs from the lobby. I fell in love with them last year but apparently a "remodel" didn't find them as charming as we did.

Very close to rail station for early train. Would be noisey if you wanted to sleep in a little later due to trains but we were up & running very early. Breakfast very poor.Would only stay here again if catching early train

We enjoyed the location, so close to downtown. Our room was clean, service was polite. Parking was convenient and plentiful. I would definately stay at Comfort Inn Ship Creek again.

Their computer system was down both when checking in and checking out. The person at the front desk was really abrupt. Condition: 1) bed wasn't comfortable 2) pillows smelled sour 3) bathroom had mold in the corner and the shower curtain had mold on the bottom The breakfast was good. The upside for this hotel is that if you are catching the train to Denali it is only a short walk to the station, the downside is that it also very close to the freight yards and the train drivers seem to delight in blowing their horns all night long and it doesn't matter where your room is. It is also about a 1 Km walk up a pretty steep hill to get […] to the CBD . Overall the hotel/motel is OK remembering that it is a Comfort Inn. Læs mere

This was the beginning of our Alaska vacation. We arrived early into Anchorage and the gentleman at the front dest at that time was very accomodating, storing our luggage for us and offering suggestions on things to do and places to eat. We didn't find the young girl at the front dest when we returned to check-in as friendly and helpful. To begin with […] she tried charging us a second time for our rooms saying they hadn't been paid for, we then went through the processes of showing hotel.com receipts to prove that they had already been paid for. What it amounted to was the front dest employee not being familiar with the system and knowing where to located the necessary information, and then coming across with an attitude. Læs mere

Our stay was very comfortable, especially when you are allowed to bring your dogs. The hotel was in immaculate condition and so were the surrounding grounds. The pet poop baggies that are offered were greatly appreciated. We will definitely stay at this hotel the next time we are in Anchorage.

the hotel was nice enough. in the summer it would be a nice place to stay...especially if you want to walk around downtown...it is very close. the breakfast was okay. the pool was pretty small. the train station was very close to the hotel...we only heard the train once or twice, so it wasn't bad. it was a pretty good place for the price.

The hotel was located in a really neat area of Anchorage! However, there were a few things that could have been better. The breakfast area was too small for all the guest wanting breakfast, the pool was extremly dirty. Lastly there was dirt in the bath tub and our door handle fell off of our room door.

The establishment has an indoor swimming pool and gym but no restaurant. Rooms have fridge but nothing in them. I arrived 8.45pm after 8hr train ride and was leaving on the 6.45am train to Seward. Just needed a couple of quick beers before a sleep. NO beer availibe here so directed up hill to town where NO outlets availibe for takeaways. This establishment […] should supply something for its guests. 2 am young drunk people outside in street yelling obsenities at the rich people staying in this establisment. A car outside sounded like it got a good going over with heavy rocks. Police were a reception when I left. The bar I did get a beer in had someone shot in it that night after I had left. A wild place is Alaska. If you are catching a train in the morning then this is handy but trains are next to you and sleep may be a problem with the noise. Læs mere

I would recommend this hotel (unless you're very fussy). The staff was helpful and friendly. They kept up on breakfast even with a full hotel - it was good and fresh and included waffles. It was quiet (some may be bothered by train sounds - not really an issue). We even walked to town! Although they provide a shuttle he was extremely busy and we needed […] the exercise. In the morning they ran a shuttle to the train station (even though it is walking distance). The only negative for fussy people - is the rooms are showing some wear (however they were very clean). The hotel was perfectly fine and served the usual continental breakfast fare. The only downside is that it is VERY loud all the time - and trains do not have an end time - so you'll be woken by whistling throughout the night.

Price is a little high for just a 7-hour over night stay. But it's clean and convenient for catching the train early in the morning. We are pleased with the hotel.
