This hotel and its online ratings were extremly misleading. The lobby is nicely kept and looks to be recently renovated. The hallway leading to the rooms in a non-smoking area wreaked of cigarette smoke. Lastly, on the last day of my stay, I found a bedbug in the bed. I am very dissatisfied with this hotel. I took the trip to visit Binghamton University. Very convenient if you don't want to take a car onto the campus. But be prepared to jaywalk, because you're gonna be walking across a four-lane arterial road, and the pedestrian light on the opposite side of the road doesn't work. As for the hotel itself, it's clean, the showers were good, WiFi worked... the continental breakfast was okay... I'm 19 and I'm not one to be a critical judge on places such as this, but I must say I think it's important I write something. From the moment you walk in, it's an amazing newly renovated lobby with huge ceilings and nice decor. Once you check in and walk towards the rooms, the atmosphere COMPLETELY changes and you feel like you're in a rendition of […] "The Shining" as the hotel turns for the worst. The hallways smell strongly of old cigarettes, even though I was in the "Non-Smoking" section. Even entering the room was a challenge! After putting the key-card in the door, you had to really run into the door so it would open, followed by a loud banging sound since it kept getting caught in the door frame. The TV was old as I expected but they had some obnoxious features on it such as a music player. The player itself was fine, but if you let the songs run past the 5:00 free trial, it automatically charges your room for about 16$! Of course I only found out about this the day I checked out and it was all by mistake- Even so, there was a no refund policy. The beds were ok (Twin Doubles) but the main complaint I have is that the comforter was spewing feathers out all over the place and it was as if I was a darn chicken the three mornings I woke up. To sum it all up, I'd recommend the hotel for someone on a tight budget as it is a quality night's sleep, but you'd be better off paying the extra ~30$ a night down the street at the Holiday Inn. Enjoyed the breakfast...they had scrambled eggs, ham, waffle maker, cereal, fruit, etc. Hotel staff was friendly and courteous. The room was a bit chilly when we arrived (end of Dec.) but it quickly heated up. We had to pay a fee for having a small dog with us but I have no objections to that. All-in-all it was a nice place...we will return.

The Hotel itself was fine nice large rooms. There were alot of construction workers staying there as well and therefore it was quite noisy around 4:00 am. I'm not sure i would stay there again if they are still there.

The hotel staff was friendly and cooperative. The bathrooms were old and had a musty odor. The room one the first floor was very noisy from outside noise.

I cannot say enough good about the experience we had this past weekend at this hotel. My son was married on Saturday in Owego. The staff at the hotel went above an beyond to make sure our stay was a memory we would never forget. The sadness and devistation from the recent flooding that surrounded these communities in New York will forever be etched […] in our minds. Your front desk staff member Shawn suffered personal loss from this flooding and never left on he was a victim of the flooding. He was so professional and so helpful with our needs for a second room for our son and a guest that the stress was completely removed when we seen his willingness to host our family. It was not until Sunday morning at breakfast that we learned that Shawn, his wife, and 4 children had lost everything in the flooding. I commend you for hiring staff that has a true compassion for the people they are there to serve, especailly when their day or their struggles are so much more greater than those of a vacationing guest and yet they serve their guest with a smile. I was pleasantly surprised that this motel was as good as it was. My experience with Quality Inns has not been all that good. The room was clean with a refrigerator and microwave. The staff was very friendly. The hall carpeting and stairways could use a makeover but these are minor things. This hotel is in bad need of renovation. The carpets and furniture are very well worn. The room stank from over usage of air freshener. They had a cheesy oil air freshener in the outlet which gave us a headache. The entrance door to the building has a broken lock. The bathtub finish was chipped. Pet friendly = dogs barking incessantly. Musty smell pervades all the rooms, mildew is visible. Trouble with electrical units, we had to keep lights on otherwise the units would just keep clicking, clicking, clicking. One of the most awful hotel experiences I've had, ever, and I've traveled frequently.

The Hotel was in Decent shape the Only complaint is the ceiling in the bathroom had a leak but they fixed it right away after I reported it. Staff was friendly and room was clean.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The lobby & restaurant were fine. Once you walked into the hallway to the rooms, it was as if you walked into another building. It smelled, and you could tell the cleaning service worked part time at best.

I checked hotels in Vestal near Univ of Binghamton for a college visit. This hotel is 3 miles away in downtown Binghamton but it was worth the short ride. It was rennovated in early 2011. Lobby is beautiful. Brand new fitness center, nice pool. They are working on renovating the rooms -- not all were completed yet. Place was spotless and staff was friendly. […] Free parking. This is a basic hotel - but if you are visiting SUNY Binghamton it is perfect - across the street and well priced. The room was clean but worn looking, but there was a flood in the bathroom after the air conditioner pan overflowed (obviously a common occurrence, if one looks at the ceiling in the bathrooms). The bedroom was good sized and the beds were very nice, but the arrangement was kind of awkward. Other Plusses - a big and well-maintained property - Lobby was generously sized and more like what you see in a business hotel than what you normally see in economy lodgings. Awful smell of urine!!!!!!

I have mobility problems, so I always request a first floor room or make sure there is an elevator. So when I checked in they assigned me to a 2nd fl room. I asked if they had an elevator, answer was NO. So I told them of my problem and they told me that housekeeping was behind schedule and this was at 5pm -- so I asked to speak to a manager. I had […] just driven 6 hours and needed to rest before my grand daughter's graduation that evening. The manager assigned me to a handicapped room, which was fine with me. Later that evening we heard dripping in the bathroom. It was 1:48 am and we called the front desk, and they wanted to move us, and I said to wait until the morning. we put a trash bucket under the drip. By morning the dripping had stopped so we decided not to change rooms. But the 2nd night the same thing happened, so we did the trash bucket again. Upon checking out, the agent at the desk admitted that they always have trouble with the a/c units drainage in the older part of this hotel. Læs mere

Our room was "non-smoking", but there was a very heavy smoke smell. They told us that our room actually was non-smoking, and that the smoke was coming from a smoking room just below us via an a/c duct, but somehow this explanation did not make us happy since we had a young child with us. We asked for a replacement room, and after some arguing, they […] got us another room, which was in quite a shabby condition, and with a toilet that would not flush. After 15-20 more minutes of arguing (they said that nobody was available to fix it) they finally called a guy who came and fixed the toilet, but it broke again next morning. Next morning also the shower was out in all hotel, because of a failed pump which they tried to fixed all morning but could not, though we waited for the shower until our checkout time. This was the dirtiest and most uncomfortable room I have ever stayed in and there was an awful smell of urine in the hallways. The noise from other guests went on until 1 a.m. when we were finally able to fall asleep. Front entry of the hotel was clean and tidy but that is where it stopped. Absolute great stay for the price.

we expected an outdoor pool since it was hot enough but pool was under construction. otherwise this is a good property. breakfast helps nice folks. how would you know to ask about the pool for memorial weekend.

Excellent Hotel. Best Breakfast of all on a 10 day road trip! Room smelled a wee bit of smoke, but otherwise, fantastic hotel.

Clean rooms, very accommodating staff. they make you feel at home. The continental breakfast is limited, although they will make omelets to order. Overall, very satisfied. I've stayed there several times and quality is consistent.

Less than a 5 minute ride to the SUNY campus. Hotel service, cleanliness & comfort of bed were great. The pull-out was torture. The breakfast was included in the room rate. You get what you pay for. I guess I have a high standard for food. I would definitely stay there again, but I'd go out for breakfast.

Pleasant over night stay...visiting college for our son. Hotel is conveniently located near college. Being on Vestal Parkway makes traveling to malls, restaurants, gas stations and even a dunkin donuts very convenient. fine just could not expect hammering

Upon Arrival I was in need of a DIet Mt Dew. 3 pepsie machines in the hotel, NONE WORKING. as at the front desk and was told they were called in.. Same problem next Day. I called the pepsie bottler to report the issue. As of when I left no repairs had taken place.

Close, clean, they had not opened their pool all summer when we visited in August of 2010

Although the staff was extremely nice and helpful, the hotel was gross. My kids thought it was "creepy." The pool for which we had booked this hotel was not available and had not been all summer despite prominent display on website. The first room we were given on the first floor had BLOODSTAINS on the white comforter, as well as other unidentified […] stains. The window behind the curtain was open and the screen was torn. I booked the hotel because it was nearby the University, were I had to go for my child's College orientation. It had a three star rating, and although it was pricey I thought it was a good choice. To start with the room smelled, the walls were dirty, the carpet was stained, and worst of all the sheets were damp!!! The bathroom was small, and the tiles […] were falling off of the shower (NO JOKE!). The out door pool which was a nice size was not open, and considering it is July and the weather warm, why should it be closed? I complained to the kid in the front lobby, but he gave me a blank look and a card that I could send to the cooperate office with my complaint. The hotel lobby was very nice, but the rest of the hotel is run down and in desperate need of repair. The only nice part of the room was the beds, which were new and very comfortable, but with the damp and smelly sheets and pillow cases, it did not make much of difference. I could not get a good nights sleep, and felt sick. Although I paid for two nights, I left the next day and stayed at a different hotel in the area. I have to warn you to stay away, until they upgrade the hotel. Ignore the 3 stars, it is not accurate. Læs mere

there were a couple reasons this hotel was a bummer...i chose it strictly for the pool, but i couldn't even enter the pool area (even to read) until after 3pm...the Deluxe Hot breakfast was horrible, ive had better at motels. Get ready to drive everywhere, because theres nowhere to walk... The room was acceptable, but i would've stayed closer to Binghamton […] had i known about the pool. Læs mere

The sheets were stained and the shower was dark and small

I loved the room and the access to the computer in the lobby. I found the toilet difficult to flush - there is a button in the middle of the tank lid and you have to hit it just right to get it to fully flush.

The bedding was VERY comfortable (love those feather beadspreads). But if you have a dog like I do that barks at doors slamming, voices in the halls, then do not expect to get much sleep. Not the hotels problem... but just a warning. Noise in the halls carries very easily.
