Hotel Indigo Chicago Downtown Gold Coast - Chicago

Hotel Indigo is at the perfect location (1 block from the red line el train, 10 minute walk from Michigan Ave) for any sightseeing in downtown Chicago. Upon arrival, we were prepared to leave our bags and return at 4 for check-in, but, lo and behold, our room was ready at 11am! The hotel is conveniently located in Chicago's Gold Coast. It has a small bar and restaurant in the hotel, but there are numerous lovely restaurants nearby. The decor inside the hotel and the room are quite nice. The nautical theme is pleasant and the colors are appealing. The king size bed was quite comfortable and the room was very quiet. The bathrooms […] were pretty and the shower was very nice. My only reservation about the hotel is it seems like the rooms are on the verge of requiring more maintenance soon. I don't know if there are plans to do so, but the floors may soon need attention as they sink in some places. If you're paying for a 4 star hotel then it should be maintained as such. The rooms are small - Euro style, and since the cost isn't cheap, I wonder if the hotel would consider continental breakfast included in the hotel cost. Læs mere

My only complaint is I booked a room with 2 standard beds at one rate. However, when I checked in I was told it was booked as whatever is available and was given the option of a room with the king size bed or to pay an additional fee for the room I thought I had booked in the first place.

It was a nice hotel. The room was great, it was located in a nice spot in the Gold Coast of Chicago. The front desk person in the evening was sort of cool and stand-off-ish, but the people working in the morning were very warm and friendly.

It's a fabulous location. The desk was very pleasant. The room was FRIGID when we walked in so there was really no way to relax as soon as we got in before heading out into the city. The lamp shade on one side of the bed was cracked. The shower head in the bathroom has one setting and is like a powerwash and there was no Hot water...luke warm at best. […] There were a few hair folicles still on the bed when I moved the comforter. I felt misled about the TV because we saw pictures of a huge flat screen on Hotels.com and ended up with a medium size big box tv in the room. It's clean, but I didnt appreciate the cold room and the no hot water..thumbs down! Læs mere

Love this hotel. I have stayed here 3 times and each was a good experience. Staff is nice, rooms are very clean and the location is awesome.

While the hotel is great, he night we stayed some alarm was going off in he stairwell outside our room at 3:00am. When I called the front they were very short with me and didnt apologize for the trouble. When I mentioned it while checking out I brought it up and again no apology or sympathy to their customer.

Great location, neighborhood. Small rooms, but very comfortable. Windows open!

Loved the hotel! Great neighborhood! Hotel manager was very kind and helped me with a problem with the parking garage by going into the garage to discuss the issue with the garage staff. Complaints: Bathroom a little small but doable. Elevator very slow (we waited 10 minutes to catch a ride to 7th floor) Bottled water in the room was offered only with […] a charge of $4. I feel for the cost of the hotel a night I should get bottled water free! Læs mere

Excellent room a very short walk from red line Clark/Division. Were able to quickly get wherever we wanted. Short walk to "Viagra Triangle" with Bistro Zinc, Gibson's steak house, many bars, good liquor store, etc. Only complaint was that they weren't leaving us 4 towels and extra TP for a 4 person room; next thing we knew we were inundated with spare […] everything. The check-in clerk could not even crack a tiny smile. The parking was $37/day which was pricey and we didn't know about it until we got there. The room was smaller than I expected, and the hardwood floors were really cold. The restaurant downstairs was out of chicken, out of potatoes, and there was one person working the register, the stoves, and the […] delivery of room service. I can hear the guests talking a couple rooms away so was trying to talk softly the whole time I was there. The window's view was nothing but a brick wall. I wouldn't go there again. Læs mere

Good location w/parking garage next to it that offers in/out privileges. Garage attendant would not allow large SUVs to use the garage, so we had to park in a lot down the street. The hotel was very chic, very clean and the beds and bedding were comfortable. Loved our room. A delightful boutique hotel in a charming neighborhood within walking distance of several small restaurants and musical entertainment. We enjoyed the features of the hotel from the fitness center to breakfast and more. We had a nice stay and appreciated the helpfulness of the staff guiding us on places to see and good food to eat!

Room was small but nice and clean with wood floors and a big comfy bed. Older TV set, but more importantly, it did have free high speed wireless internet service. Nice hot shower and a comfortable desk and chair. Overall, not bad for the price, though the carpet in the hallways was really old and stained. If they just fixed up the tiny hallways a bit […] more, I'd give it 4 stars. Staff was courteous and very helpful in pointing me to local foods and providing taxis. Ecclectic, uniquely decorated hotel, conveniently located, with nice, well matinained and clean rooms. A bit pricey for a place to lay your head but certainly in line with similar Chicago hotels. Would stay there again and would recommend.

This boutique hotel is attractively decorated, it is clean, and it has complimentary wireless internet access. However, our room was so small that it took us awhile to figure out where to place our suitcases on the floor so that we wouldn't be tripping over them. There was no luggage rack, and the closet was miniscule, so that we could only hang up […] a few pieces of our clothing. The bathroom was also small with minimal counterspace. Our room looked out onto a brick wall, so, all in all, our room felt very confining. Læs mere

Stayed there twice! Great location, helpful staff (parking workers aren't the nicest) clean rooms, very cute decor, comfy beds, great room service (try the burgers or the crab cake sandwich! Loved it all. Very cute hotel worth the visit. Very close walk to the Mag Mile and tons of resturants.

Not knowing much about our hotel, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice and accommodating it was! It seemed as though we were stepping into a hotel off the Gulf in Florida! Everything was wonderful, the location couldn't have been better, and the staff was very friendly.
