Hotellet er OK, ligger på et mindre indkøbsområde, med en del restauranter i nærheden. Morgenmaden er glimrende og inkluderet i prisen, kaffe og te kan afhentes døgnet rundt. Poolen er lille og ligger nærmest på P-pladsen. Der er ca 15 min kørsel til Six Flags parken fra hoptellet - og man kan billige indgangsbilletter i receptionen. Da vi skulle flyve hjem fra New York om eftermiddagen, var vi glade for at man kunne vente med at tjekke ud til kl 14.00

Jeg skulle besøge søn på uconn, hvor han studerer, hotellet lå okay i forhold til at shoppe og komme til og fra, servicen var godog det eneste der var at udsætte var at swimmingpoolen ikke var åben endnu. Det var et billigt men godt hotrel til prisen.

"very accessible to West hartford center"
lovely hotel, very conveniently located. we stay there on EVERY return to the Hartford area. We lived in Hartford for 20 years.
"Nice facilities but get the right room"
The hotel is very nice. The main building is wonderful. Be sure that you are there. The "economy" rooms that show up on this website are in the motel style building across the parking lot from the main buildings. Really? Check in was a bit ridiculous. My business colleague and I stood at the desk for 15 minutes, ignored by the sole employee who was […] onthe phone with a potential guest asking about every type of room that they have. Well at least eavesdropping on the call made me realize that I had booked a substandard room. Had dinner in the tavern (two restaurants - main dining room and tavern). Dinner and service was very good. Breakfast was served in the main dining room. Great food. "Avon Old Farms Motel - Very pleasant"
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were there just for one night - to attend a gala across the street, but conveniences offered were just fine.

"Check out the section they want to put you in"
Apparently, the section used for hotel.com reservations is a poorly maintained one. The first room did not have working heat. The next room (same section) did not either! Finally, they put us in the main hotel - with a "complimentary upgrade" - never apologizing for the inconvenience!
My original room was experiencing a problem with the heat not operating correctly. I contacted the hotel lobby and was given a free upgrade to a new room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The overall cleanliness of the common areas was fine. The furnishings in my room (chairs/carpet) were not clean and had numerous stains. The bedding and towels […] were fine. We stayed with our 2.5 year old. The room was comfortable but the carpet was damp and a bit smelly. The room was very quiet and there was no noise from neighbors. Stayed overnight for an adult evening out..it was heaven. Bed was comfy, room was quiet and spacious. Had dinner there as well. Excellent food and service. Will go back again and again.

Sleeping on wet sheets is a no no. We were told it was due to the air conditioner. We were moved to another room, but the same problem existed there as well. It appears as the sheets were never put in the dryer. So the second room we iron our own sheets to dry them out, something you do not expect at a 4 star hotel. Room very nice if you enjoy colonial design and wallpaper. Don't know if all rooms are the same. Nicely decorated and comfortable mattress and bedding. Good pub and nice common areas. Van service to wedding venue by extremely pleasant and accommodating driver by the name of Jeanne. Nice breakfast.

The bed squeeked and squeeked whenever you moved. Finally my husband had to shove a pillow in back of the headboard to get some sleep. Bathroom kind of small and pretty old looking. Not much room to put anything in there.

This is a nice small hotel, the grounds are nice. Had easy access to the room. The standard room is very standard- no luxury- the bathroom is small also. Very quite during our stay. The restaurant looked nice, we did not try it.

I upgraded because the economy rooms are located across the way from the Inn. the economy rooms are nice but more like a motel with rooms off the parking lot and closer to the main road. for a few dollars more I had a lovely room that was quiet and spacious inside the main building.

I grew up on Avon Mountain and chose to have my family stay here "for old memories sake". We were here to attend my dad's funeral. I must say that my son's room smelled old and nasty, and our room had broken and banged up furniture in it - the bathroom fan is very loud.The vanity sink had no running cold water. For the price I paid I was very disappointed. […] The rooms do not have coffee makers in them as advertised. The breakfast included with the room is not what you think. We stayed 2 nights in the lower section - the queen bed room. The room smell was pretty bad. I guess the room was clean enough but it smelled old and nasty - smelled like mothballs. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room. Especially for the price of the room. The bed was not comfortable. I was dissapointed in the room for the price I paid. The women who was working at the desk Saturday night was very nice.

Poor wireless connectivity and more of a Motel than a hotel. The place is clean and the pub has good food and beer. Unfortunately, I travel on business and need to be able to work in my room. This place seemed like a deal, but the lost productivity easily cost me more than what I would have spent if I'd stayed at the Hilton.

the hotel advertises an airport shuttle which was a mjor factor in our decision to book there. When we contacted the hotel for pickup, we were told that the shuttle does not work on holidays. Similarly, when we were leaving, the shuttle does not work until 1pm. Either you have a shuttle available or you provide the details and limitations in the advertising. This is more of a motel and it really needs a facelift. We checked in and found our room in the "Annex" to be comfortable but smelly, outdated and noisy. For some reason the hotel had moved the sofa out of our room and replaced it with a desk chair? "one small problem that was solved immediately"
When I checked into the Avon Old Farms, the check in was very quick. I was given room 411 which is in an outer building. I entered and noticed a musty smell. But I had an appointment so I dropped my suitcase and left. When I returned at 11pm the smell was really bad. It had been raining very hard all day. I was exhausted and went to bed. but the moldy […] smell bothered me all night. At 7:30am I went to the front desk and explained my problem was given another room immediately (and asked if I wanted to see it first, which I did) moved my things and had a lovely stay from there on out. I could of change the night before but I was so exhausted from my travels.Sometimes things happen, but how it is handled is much more important to me and this was stellar service. Læs mere

The hotel was very charming our room clean and roomy, only we wish the deluxed room we had , had a fridge being out of state travelers it was annoying to have to keep the cooler filled with ice. it may seem silly but it would of been a conviences.

Beautiful hotel with great restaurant. Even if you don't stay here come for the great food. The hotel may not be updated in style, but it is very comfortable and has a homey, old style charm. A minor inconvenience was that my stay was during a heat wave and the A/C in my room was a bit weak but it finally did get down to 72 degrees after being on all […] night. A bucolic setting in the midst of the Connecticut hills... a lovely place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The restaurant was out of this world and we enjoyed three very delicious meals. Would be a lovely setting for an intimate wedding....or a family reunion.

Very Nice, the weather was 100 degrees when we spent 4 nights here. We stayed in the new part of the hotel and there is a very different scent in the hallway the rooms are off - not sure if it was a freshener of some sort or due to the high humidity. The room was initially muggy but with the AC on high it quickly dissipated. The breakfast was very nice […] and priced IAW the hotel rating. The continental breakfast was fine, perhaps adding juice would be nice. The pool was great - one suggestion, have the pool attendant out there cleaning up the floating dead bugs more often. For the money and the expensive area in which this hotel is located, it is not worth the money. Both my room and my parent's higher priced room had AC that did not blow cold. The only response from the front desk was to bring up a stand fan which blew around the muggy air. The housekeeping on between nights did a mediocre job, leaving out the ironing […] board and not sweeping the bathroom floor.
