Norfolk Waterside Marriott - Norfolk

My husband and I came from Pennsylvania to watch the Parade of Nations that our son and his marching band was marching in. I found this hotel on hotels.com for a very reasonable price. I have to say this has been one of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed in. The view was magnificent! It was very easy to get in and out of Norfok and the convenience […] of watching the parade was awesome. The beds were among the most comfortable I've ever had. The staff was amazing too. The hotel was amazing! Beautiful, clean, and convenient! We did not use the valet parking but there really isn't a need to because the parking garage is connected by a skybridge to the hotel. The hotel was in walking distance to dozens of nice restaurants, the mall, and the Douglas McArthur museum. My spouse and I loved our view of the river and the […] quietness of the hotel. We had a few minor problems that were beyond the hotels control .... like no tv for instance but that was the sattelite companies fault. As for everything else it was great. Location was great and within walking distance of almost everything. GREAT!!! would stay there again.

This hotel seriously needs an upgrade into the new Millenium, the overall decor is extremely old and i was quite surprised by this. I thought a marriot would be more up to date. Everything about the room was just okay... Bathroom was terrible and the noise that came through the room was outrageous. Very comfortable and quiet room! Just what I needed before an important interview. The room service was fast and tasty. Enjoyed the exercise room all to myself in the morning (I loved that it was open 24 hours). Try the private hot tubs outside! Valet parking was very convenient, especially if you have luggage.

Very nice convention type hotel. Hotel was clean and personnel were courteous. Only problem was loud , continuous buzzing noise from a mechanical room next to the elevator.

Great stay in Norfolk, from the staff , to the rooms, to all the food, top notch !

Everything from the Bell Man that helped us (George) to the overall shape of the room to the Bartender on the second floor. All was great!!

We particularly enjoyed the food at Shula's located in the hotel.

We had an excellend stay! Great location and great view! Would definitely go back and reccomend! We did have an issue with the room at check in and the front desk mgr. Terri was very helpful and accomodating!

Very poor experience on this visit. Room we were given was very old, musty odor. Hotel staff was pleasant, but not responsive to our concerns. After the first night of two night stay, complained that the bathroom tub was not draining. Staff said they would look into it - NEVER happened. Also, sheets were not changed, and request for extra drinking glasses […] was not acted upon by room service (however, they happily took our tip left in the envelope they provided). We had a nice stay. Room was comfortable and very clean. Fitness Room was nice - but there was trash lying around and in the hallway outside of the room. We stayed for breakfast. In most Marriott's you get a coffee urn at the table. Here we had to ask the server each time for a refill.

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed. I will be sure to book it again when visiting the Norfolk area again.

excellent experience all the way round, food great at Shula's!

Valet Parking was convienient, Staff were basically polite, room clean, everything worked, wasn't able 2 use my netbook

Hotel was clean the only problem we had was with the drain in the bathroom, sluggish, it was fixed, however, it remained slow.

good value for the price. very well located, downtown and close to port and waterside park. clean and comfortable room. hotel staff was friendly and courteous. Shulas Steakhouse is located on premises and was quite good also. I would definitely stay there again.

It is a nice place to stay if you want to visit in Norfolk. It is walking distance to restaurants, museum and a mall. My only complaint is that you have to pay for internet connection for $9.95/day. They offer valet parking for $26/day or you can self park across the street for $19/day. I enjoyed using the gym and the pool. All in all, it's a great […] hotel to stay in Norfolk. Læs mere

stayed at this hotel while atteding the hampton jazz festival in Hampton, Va.. had two for breakfast set up. Excellent breafast and very clean rooms. excellent enviroment and would highly recommend to all.

We got a 18th Floor corner unit with wwindows on both sides. Great views. We were originally disppointed to find only chain resturants in the waterside complex across the street, but soon found resturant row around the corner. Empire bistro or bar was excellant (tapas) Great location. 10 minute drive to airport.

The Waterside Marriot in Nofolk is a beautiful hotel, but we thought that there were too many "extras" you had to pay for. Parking was extra, no continental breakfast (just bagels and coffee would have been nice), expensive breakfast buffet and the service was only mediocre. The location was nice though because you could walk to everything, but my friends […] and I all agreed that would probably stay somewhere cheaper next time. Læs mere

We had the Waterview room on the 19th floor. It was a great view of the waterside from both windows. The hotel was very meticulously clean. I will be staying again. The bed was "oh so comfortable." They should have a safe and refrigerator in the room for the price. I have stayed in less expensive hotels which supplied those items. The only thing i really didn't like about the hotel was that I reserved a room with a king sized bed, and they gave us a room with 2 doubles, so my fiance and i had to sqeeze on a double bed. The valet parking was quite expensive as well, twenty-six bucks. Other than that it was great

We love the beds in Marriot Hotels, this is a given. Love the service and the staff was so POLITE. The only thing that was wrong with our room was the toilet,it did not flush properly. Besides this EXCELLENT!!!!! I would recommend this hotel. I will definitely stay again, If I am in the area. Good price too.

The hotel was great. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. Our room had amazing views of the water and the boats. The downfalls were that not a single coke machine on all 24 floors would take a dollar bill. Thankfully one of the staff gave me a drink from the Kitchen for free. The other downfall is to watch the water. I dont know if it was just […] my room or not but it took 10 minutes for the shower to get even luke warm and then when it finally started to get warm..it got HOT, then it wouldnt go to warm. Finally when my shower was almost over, it was not as hot, but it took a while to get it adjusted just right. The hotel was very clean and my room was very comfortable. I can tell the city is cleaning up the outside area of the hotel, but there are still a few homeless people roaming around, but they seem to keep to themselves. Læs mere

$28 for Valet parking or $19 for self parking accross the street. My brother stopped by to see us and he was charged $14 to park in front of hotel. The Hotel would not charge it to my room which I thought was a bit strange. The valet service was good and the guys did go back to our vehicle a few times to get some items that were left accidently. The price was right and the room was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly. Lots of choices for food and entertainment within walking distance. Parking was also amply available.
