"service ruined the experience"
the hotel conditions and location are amazing! it exceeded my expectations but the service from the guy running the front desk lowered my rating from a 5 to a four, very rude blunt and unhelpful. it is worth a stay but don't expect a nice person behind the front desk.

Hotel was clean, and that was good. The beach outside was nice. The breakfeast was nothing to write home about. So enjoy your stay

Very nice for the price. My only gripe is it seemed kind of damp in the room. I think because of the location. Smelled a little musty. Within walking distance to everything. Beach area was very nice. Fridge in room was nice to have.

"Nice Stay"
Room was clean, beach was great.
We only used the hotel for an overnight stay which was fine. The room was clean and the employees were friendly at the hotel. The bathroom was very small, probably wouldn't want to stay for two or three nights. On the plus side it's right on lake Michigan beachfront.
Extremely uncomfortable beds. Paper-thin walls. If you opened the curtain to the only window in the room, everyone walking to their own room could see in. Running toilet. Stained sink and carpeting.

The bad part was you had to cross the parking lot to get to the pool and it was chill but outside of that it was worth the money

We needed an affordable place to stay in Mackinaw, and this Super 8 was just what we were looking for.

Right on the beach! It was more then we had expected and for the price almost unbelievable. The pool was 86 degrees and everything Super Clean!
"Great for the price"
For the price this Super 8 was a really good deal. Nice beachfront, great pool and hot tub, and a continental breakfast comparable to pricier chains. Our room was very clean (and we're very picky when it comes to cleanliness!) and the staff courteous if not overly friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

The people at the hotel were very friendly and the room was clean. However the outside of the hotel was another story. There were spiders all over the place. There were Bats hanging on the eves over the walkway on the second floor.

This was a comfortable hotel with a nice location close to restaurants, ferry service to Mackinac Island, and to shopping. The pool looked nice, although we did not use it. The check in was efficient but the reception was not especially warm. The lobby was not crowded when we arrived, but we felt we were putting the clerk out by taking her time to check […] us in. The cost of the room was a bit high for the quality of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, although there was a smell of smoke in a non-smoking room. "Worth The Money"
This is your basic motel room. No more, no less. It was clean, the showers were hot, the bed was comfortable and the sauna, hot tub and pool were nice. The location was great and being on the lake with a very nice beach was sweet. The only downside was the breakfast was skimpy and it was very crowded because the room is very small. Close to shopping, a nice beach front and easy access to Island ferry's.

"Super 8 in Mackinaw City"
Very cheap rates and the location is perfect especially if you are going to the island. It is located right next to a ferry. They share the complimentary breakfast with Best Western and it is wonderful. Probably the best part of the stay. The rooms were somewhat clean. The time of year we went, the bugs were awful so some were in the room, on the sheets, […] etc. All dead but if your wife is like mine, it creeps them out. No dirt or trash around, just bugs. All hotels may have been like that this time of year, never been there before. I would not stay there again if I was with my wife, but by myself, sure. The rooms were not huge, but big enough for four of us. And the pool/jacuzzi,sauna was very nice and my seven year old loved. Rooms are not really updated but we felt very safe in the rooms. "Good Hotel"
This hotel was very clean and it was right on the water. However you can't see the bridge from the beach. Also the woman at the counter was very rude. She made you feel you were bothering her if you went into the office.

very comfortable. hotel staff didn't seem to be too warm, but not rude either, just got the job done. breakfast with waffles was nice. on the lake, walking distance to ferries. shower water was not really hot, but warm enough. for the price, it's just a nice hotel.

"Good Management"
There were a couple of small issues with the TV and the bathroom the first day that we checked in. The manager at the desk took care of these issues immediately and cheerfully.
