Få et værelse ind mod gården, lidt støj mod gaden.

Vi lejede en junior suite og vi blev meget skuffede. Det var to mørke rum, gulvtæpperne var fyldt med pletter og det samme var vægene. Der manglede lister over alt. Ud over dette var der intet sted man kunne sidde og hygge eller spise/få en drink i suiten. Det.var lige som om der manglede møbler. Restauranten var også under alt kritik. Vi havde et lille […] barn med pg vi kunne ikke få lov at varme havregryn i deres microovn:( De skriver at der er børne pool og det er der bestemt ikke. Dette hotel får mine varmeste anbefalinger. Vi var 2 voksne som skulle en tur til Paris. Vi boede midt i det hele - meget centralt. Dejligt værelse med badekar :-) God service ved receptionen og god morgen buffet.

Centralt beliggenhed, pæn reception og restauration og pool, men poolen var lukket mandag til fredag, hvilket vi ikke var orienteret om. Hotellet har en nyrestaureret og en gammel del. Vi boede desværre i den gamle del i et nedslidt loftsværelse. Lugt af kloak, afskallet maling i loft og revnede gulvfliser i badeværelse. Vi havde betalt for et superior […] værelse for 4 overnatninger og bad gentagne gange høfligt receptionen om et andet værelse og påtalte lugt, men uden resultat. Læs mere

Hotellet har en fantastisk beliggenhed og ved vores ankomst virkede receptionen flot og indbydende med proffesionel betjening. Men resten levede ikke op til forventningerne, værelset og resten af hotellet virkede meget nedslidt, vi spiste morgenmad 2 gange på hotellet og til en pris på tæt på kr. 500,- for 3 personer kunne man godt forvente lidt mere […] samt en bedre betjening. Vi prøvede den indendørs pool en enkelt gang og også her virkede det slidt og nusset og meget mørkt - måske et forsøg på at lave det hyggeligt - det lykkedes bare ikke særligt godt, men virker mere som om man forsøgte at skjule at det så lidt kedeligt ud. Der var masser af plads i lokalet ved siden af som kunne være indrettet til wellness eller fitness rum - istedet stod det bare tomt? alt i alt levede hotellet på ingen måde op til hvad man kan forvente at 4 stjerner, vil ærligt vurdere det til 2 stjerner med en pil op. selv et Scandic hotel i DK som jeg normalt ville sammenligne med Mc´donalds, har en pænere standard. men hotellet vinder på sin beliggenhed. All in all a fine hotel. The "spa" is a swimming pool, and thats it. No changing facilitys, no sauna. But a nice pool. When we was in the pool, 4 children arrived with 3 adults. And they made A LOT of noise, and we left. So it wasn`t a place we stayed a lot. But it wasn`t because of the SPA we visit the hotel. Main reason for the hotel choice was location - its directly across from both the Jardin de Tuleries and the Tuleries metro stop. From that perspective it was great. Front entrance is nice, staff (to the limited extent we had dealings with them) were fairly pleasant and helpful. We didnt eat at the hotel, it looks a bit expensive but no more so than […] you would expect from a hotel like this. The room was okay, decor passable, no issues with cleanliness. Main downside is what you get for your money - we had requested a double bed and got 2 singles pushed together (not ideal when you are taking the wife away for a romantic weekend), no ironing board or iron, no tea making facilities in room. Overall the room wasnt in keeping with the price tag. But I guess the price charged is primarily for location. I would use this hotel again but I would do some more research to see what alternatives were available in the area at a lower price Læs mere

All very grand in the main reception areas and restaurant areas, which gave a good first impression. The rooms though were a bit tired and need renovation. Be careful they don't put you in a dark dingey room. We paid for a superior room, at a high rate, but got given a dark room with a moth eaten carpet (with cigarette burns) and wallpaper peeling off […] above the bed. When we complained, they moved us to a much better brighter room, which should have been done automatically? The spa pool was a nice feature. It was a shame that it was badly in need of a clean as it had a tide-mark around the edges. The hotel also needs to decide if it wants to be a Spa. The calm serenity of the pool was ruined by kids screaming and dive-bombing much of the time, and the staff didn't seem to care. The treatments sounded nice, but in 5 days I didn't see a single customer! The prices were exorbitant even for a city hotel. I would have gladly treated myself to treatments if they had been remotely competitive. The restaurant was busy for the buffet breakfast, but deserted for the remainder of the time. This was also probably to do with charges. The location is excellent, and the rooms were quiet but this is certainly a hotel that could do with making the most of their facilities instead of filling the reception area with 8 or 9 staff. Super clean, modern facilities, really convenient to parks, museums, restaurants, metro, etc.

The concierge staff was excellent. Very friendly, swift, and information-rich. Made our trip far more enjoyable.

Staff was very professional and services were excellent. They have a great pool and spa area. The location is fantastic and the area is perfect for discovering Paris. I use about 150 hotel nights per year and this one is a must for me when in Paris.

The staff was amazing; however, the hotel rooms were very old and ours in particular had an incredibly offensive odor. Would not stay at this hotel in the future.

Great location and good spa facilities- pool & steam room free of charge. Very spacious room overlooking garden courtyard-very quiet. Bar area and public areas good but not over elaborate.Bathroom modern and well designed.

Overall, I had a very pleasant stay. The location was brilliant, hotel itself was really nice. We had a view of the "brakfast garden". Very clean and a walking distance to most of the Paris attractions. The only thing that I would point out is lack of awerness of some of their staff. Only one person out of 6 working at the hotel knew how to treat the […] hotel guests. I would recommend that the manager would provide some training in terms of customer service. Especially that you never can judge what sort of person is arriving at your hotel. This hotel is conveniently located. However, the room is really out-dated. The floors are not even, had to be careful on walking around the room. A major renovation is much needed to fit with the location.

Excellent hotel

There are 2 motorbike parking areas in the side street and don't you hear them at night! The carpet was threadbare and none of the labelled English TV chanels worked. The pool was nice.

My 1st trip to Paris and selected the st.james for location and proximity to all major sites., we could easily walk to all and take the metro which is right across the street to others. This Hotel is on Rue de Rivoli- right across from the Tulleries, and 3 blocks from the louvre., also there is the main tourist information office 2 blocks away, where […] you can book travel excursions. As well as cafes and restaurants on every block. Service and staff was great and very helpful. we had a superior room size with 2 twin beds , our room #437,overlooked the garden terrace. We had a sitting area which made it feel like a tiny apt- which was great as we were there for 9 days. i would recommend this hotel to anyone , esp. if it is your 1st time in paris.! Læs mere

The hotel location is great, walking distance to every major attraction in Paris. Subway is right across the street. The staff was wonderful. The rooms are a bit small but it is an older hotel. Great hotel in a fantastic location. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. My primary issue is for the price paid and the fact that this is a 4-star hotel, I would liked a cleaner room. The carpets appear not to have been cleaned in years.

These people have a well organized marble reception to lure the guests to resgister. They have nice looking, elegantly dressed young men at the reception area. Once you go upstairs to your room, it is a nightmare! The place smells of mold, the paint is falling off of the window sills, some of the steps I took, the carpet was so dirty that my foot got […] stuck on the carpet! I can't begin to recommend that you just go elsewhere! It was so bad we ended up leaving the hotel. We stayed at the Best Western Opal. Not in the same area but it was Excellent, clean, near Madeleine. Paris has the "hop on-hop off" bus that takes you everywhere like every other major tourist city, the metro (which is rather simple), walk or take a taxi everywhere. You don't need to stay in a bad hotel just to stay in Rivoli. There are so many nice areas in Paris just to fall in love with. Læs mere

Great location, service impeccable. Only problem is the carpeting in the bedrooms was really quite substandard for a hotel of this prestige. I felt I was walking on a wrinkled towel.

Do not stay here - use your money and stay around the corner in one of the nicer three stars like the Relais St Honore. We had a terrible experience staying at this hotel. The hotel has one saving grace only - the location. The rooms are small and shabby and not what you expect from a four star hotel. The service is frustratingly incommunicative. The […] internet did not work in our room and it took the management 24 hours to find us a new room - during which time we were unable to do business and lost a substantial amount of money as a direct result. The staff kept telling us that a new room was being prepared for us but would not tell us where or when. We wasted a whole morning waiting in the hotel for the new room. The St James and Albany must be going through major changes. Although this hotel looks good from the in the when you enter, the rooms are horible and the staff seems incompetent. My group had 4 rooms. My room was on the 6th floor, was newly refurbished, yet it seemed that the bathroom was forgotten. The tile in the shower looked like what you would […] expect in a 1 star hotel. We moved to a room that was acceptable. My friends room was fine to sleep in, but when he got up in the morning to shower, when he turned on the water is smelled like something died in the pipes. He moved to another room which was acceptable. My other friend's room looked like someone rebuild an motor on the carpet it was so badly stained. After a day of touring the city, my wife and I came back to our room at 6PM to get ready for nice dinner. Our room was not make up. No towels to take a shower. After calling, it took them over 30 min to get us towels. I arranged transportation for my group of 8 to the airport with the concierge. He told me that he would arrange to have one large van take us all along with our luggage. We got a small van and had to hire an additional taxi. I would not have minded doing that, but the concierge insisted that he would take care of us...Didn't happen. The st. james hotel is a fabulous hotel with great service and a perfect location. If you are looking for a great place to stay and walk to all the top tourist information in Paris. Close to the Louvre, the Muse' d'Orsay.... Jardin de Tuilleries, Notre Dame, Champs Elysee , Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Clean, safe, and great staff.

Great location for a pretty average hotel. The beds were comfortable and the linens were decent. When we arrived mid morning our room was not ready. I asked if they could call my cell phone when it was ready and they said no. We had no hot water one morning in the shower. The pool was closed for our entire 5 day stay and seems to always be closed from […] what one of the hotel employees told me. This Hotel was right across from the underground train. Very good location. Clean and comfortable.

Loved the location and the cafes that surrounded it. Stayed at the Hotel Ares in Dec 2010 and although I enjoyed that Hotel I actually preferred this Hotel (at half the price) Location made it, the room we were in was nothing special-which is probably why we paid the price we did!

Beautiful hotel, charming, attentive staff, incredible neighborhood.

This is not a 4 star hote. we had only cold water 2 days in the winter, spent 1 day moving to another room. Business center internet was not working for business and I was charged for it through my credit card and was not able to recover it. VG

Right across from Louvre Museum, this hotel is just perfect for a touristic stay in Paris. I did a lot of research when I was looking for a hotel. I was just looking for something clean, safe, reasonably priced and in a good location. This hotel just gave me everything and more. The concierge and front desk spoke perfect english and was very helpful. […] Hotel is in a perfect spot close to many destinations, subway was just across the street. On top of all, the hotel is just beautiful. You can book this hotel without any doubts. The only con is that the walls are slightly thin therefore you can hear some noises from the room next door but it is not really disturbing at all. Plus you don't hear any noises from the street. This hotel if very well located, and i have stayed there a number of times in the past. I will not stay again. The concierge was haughty and rude and the room was dreary and smelled musty. I found out after-the-fact (through a credit card fraud alert) that the hotel charges an additional $50 per day to your credit card to cover any room charges you […] may have and does not recredit your account until a week or so after your departure. The main thing going for this hotel is the location on the Rue de Rivoli and the pretty courtyard where drinks and meals may be served. When I visited at the end of August 2010 the dining room was out of action as it is being refurbished. I was not interested in having meals in the cramped temporary bar area. The carpets and furnishings are, frankly […] a disgrace (make sure you take slippers/flip flops to avoid the tacky floors). Absolutely terrific historic hotel directly opposite the Louvre and gardens. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Excellent staff - great concierge - helpful in every way.

Hotel is right across the street from the Louvre so access to the museum is effortless. There is also a metro stop right there making excursions easy. There is some updating that could be done, such as with carpeting and upholstery, but the service is excellent and the rooms very clean.

The entrance is lovely but if you are unlucky enough to be on the second floor then you start down a dark corridor to a room that was refurbished in the 80's - unclean, unloved - great area and sadly disappointing
