Mattress gave us both a backache...this is unusual....no shower cap and of course I did not realize it until it was too late....musty smell but the air conditioner took care of it...we were asked at the front desk to put down an extra $200 to cover any damages....like we are both over 65 and coming to the Cape to a $235.00 room and we are going to damage […] it? At first we were on the first floor facing the beach, but the noise from upstairs was very loud. The wooden floors transmit all the noise from above. Once we moved to an upstairs room it was much better.

We really enjoyed our stay. I asked for a bottom floor room with an ocean view because it was our Anniversary and wanted ocean view and my husband has a bad knee to walk far. We got the bottom floor but furthest away from the main entrance. Great view of the ocean and beautiful beach. Rooms were a little plain-No coffee maker, the beds were not comfortable at all and the sheets were not great. Free coffee at restaurant in the morning but buffet was pricey and only served breakfast. We went in October though so it may be better durng the season.

This hotel has a perfect location over-looking Nantucket Sound with a long private beach. We had an ocean-front room that made us feel as if we were on a cruise ship. Hotel facilities are very good and the service is very friendly and accommodating.

Among a line of hotels along south yarmouth, red jacket beach has the best environment, which is the reason I recommend. Even if I booked a pool view room rather than sea view, I could still see sea and beach from my balcony. The pool is good too. It's in a courtyard surrounded by room balconys, interior pool / gym, and the beach. There is band performing […] as well. We really enjoyed a relaxed afternoon with the sun, beach and slightly sounds from the wave. However, the room itself is just so so. The sheets are not that clean. The room is humid, as well as the carpet. There was a strange smell, not knowing where it is from. This makes the long weekend not that perfect. So it depends on which parts you really care about. We stayed at the Red Jacket for 4 days with our 7 year old and it is defiantly a family oriented hotel. Our little one loved the "Kids Club" in the mornings. That kept her busy from 9:30 to 1! (hooray!). Breakfast buffets was not cheap but the food was good and we did not feel it overpriced, the afternoon grill by the pool was VERY handy as you just […] wandered over in your bathing suit and could get excellent burgers, dogs or salads. Pools were very nice, beach a little iffy, fairly heavy vegetation made going in the water somewhat unpleasant, consequently few ventured in the water which was sad. I had to walk out about a half mile to get beyond the seaweed but that was fine as the water was still only 5 feet deep! Excellent location. Room overlooking the hotel's private beach. Kids really enjoyed the beach and the indoor pool. Not cheap, but you pay for the location.

The Hotel really needs to be updated...furniture is very old and beat up. The bathrooms were terrible...hair dryer kept falling off the wall...bathtub drain was slow and the condition of the room was poor.

Our son has multiple food allergies and the staff were wonderful in checking ingredients. Great beach, nice activities (kids club, tennis, shuffleboard, etc.) We did have an ongoing problem with wireless, but the hotel handled it well. Terrible rooms smelled of must and the staff was lazy and service was poor. Not to mention extremely high priced for what you are getting. The beach was rocky and dirty and looks it has not been cleaned in years. The water was full of sea weed as well

The hotel is at a great location, we love the beach and pools. BUT the room condition was poor, the beds were slumppy and stains everywhere. The bathrooms smells like urine and has no fan.

We had a great stay at this Red Jacket Resort. Our ocean view room was a very short walk to the beach. The staff was very nice. The different activities of each day were refreshing and broke up the week. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained.

The staff at the front desk and the concierge Marge were really friendly and helpful. The rest of the crew of the hotel could have been more attentive and friendly. We had an Oceanfront room, they view was georgeous! few steps from the ocean and the pool. I really like they have heated pools because it was breezy at times. Beautiful location, nice beach front property, but the rooms are older and there is no noise insultation between first and second floors. We could hear everything going on above us and I'm sure they could hear us as well. So if you're neighbors are early risers, you will be as well. But all in all a very pleasant stay.

Although the grounds were nicely groomed, for the money the room was spartan. Indoor/outdoor carpet, spider webs under the bed, old furniture...the room was horrible. No restaurant or bar service in the evening.

Wonderful facility and the Cape is always great. Two complaints about this location: weddings there both Saturday and Sunday while we were there - resulted in NO PARKING available - we got back from a great night at 11 PM and rode around looking for a parking spot - finally just left car in a no parking area a long walk away. Our room smelt moldy and hair was all over the bathroom. The rugs did not appear overall very clean. The indoor locker room also did not appear too clean or well maintained. We frequent hotels and the extras that are available and the location is perfect, however I would stay at a cleaner hotel a bit further down the beach if possible. Red Jacket Inn was a great location, clean well manicured grounds. The people who worked there were really VERY FRIENDLY! The set up of the resort was great. Activities through out the day, fun for the children. The dining room food was good, outdoor grill food was fun and the Towels and Treats tent always had towels and made great mud slide drinks. […] Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. Pools were also clean, well kept and had a good amount of lounge chairs too. My only disappointment would be that the rooms, although spacious enough for 4 people needs updating. The comforters, tv's, dark wooded furniture all reminescant of the 80's. I just went back to the profile for the Red Jacket here on expedia and i can tell you our room did not look like the pictures. I am guessing those were the rooms in the cottages. Again, perfect location, was a fun place, the kids had fun, nice salt of the earth good friendly people but the rooms need some updating. Læs mere

We had a very pleasant stay at Red Jacket in Cape Cod. Definetely recommend it for family vacation. I would go back and stay there again. We had breakfast there and it was very good. Both the pools were fine indoor and outdoor. The beach was ok?? Didn't like the sea weed on the beach, try ing to walk and not srtep all of it.........

This three star resort is perfect for families as everything is right at your fingertips. Views are exceptional but inside rooms are tired and need a face lift. Food is mediocre. Always a smile on the staff and very welcoming.

We had scheduled to be at this hotel for 5 nights. The rooms and surroundings are very clean. The beach offers is large and offers a lot of space to play in the sand. The sand is very coarse and contains a lot of small rocks so it is better to wear shoes. It is very important to note that there are absolutely NO waves on that beach and that the water […] is full of algeas for the first 12 feet. It is just like a lake. Also, we did not like the fact that the main road going to this resort are always very busy. We felt that we were kept hostage and had difficulty going out for dinner. The food was good but a bit too pricy. The main reason for our visit was to let our kids play in the waves. Hotels.com and this hotel were kind enough to let us cancel our reservation after 2 nights. After discussing with other clients, our conclusion is that the price per night that they charge is 2x too expensive for what it is worth. Basically, for the actual price, it should be all inclusive. We enjoyed our stay, but couldn't use the pool or hottub because there were too many kids. It would have been nice to have a time for adults or older kids to use the facilities.

Our only disappointment is that they are now closed for the Winter and we will have to wait until Spring to enjoy this outstanding resort again. We simply wanted a "get away weekend" at the Cape and discovered the Red Jacket Inn... with it's outstanding staff, fun Halloween Party (we didn't bring costumes but totally enjoyed the party)... The Service […] for breakfast on Halloween morning as we departed was a bit slow (we took into account that it was their last open day prior to closing for the season).. not a big deal. Great, incredibly kept grounds, our Ocean Front Room was breathtaking, it was clean, comfortable and a Great Staff. You won't be disappointed by staying at the Red Jacket Inn in South Yartmouth. The best, the very best reason to go to the Red Jacket Beach Resort is if you want a place with an ocean AND a river view. It's the perfect spot. You are ON the ocean. Seagulls swoop, waves crash... the sun sets over the water.. The staff work hard to make people happy. We were there just before Halloween and they had the place decked out with cobwebs, […] ghouls, and thoughtful spooky decorations. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was a bit musty smelling so we just opened the sliding doors. The only thing that was a bit of a drag, and which may not be the fault of the management is that some people smoke on their balconies. If you are also on your balcony - you are with their smoke. But, again, perhaps that can't be helped. All in all, we would go there again -it's the best real estate around - the sand is clean, the air is fresh and the water laps and leaps on the rocks. liked the Kids Klub, pools were very good, resort has a good location on the beach. We also did the para-sailing. This Resort has it all, you don't have to leave the grounds if you don't want to. The activities for kids that RJ runs are great, my 7 & 11 yr olds both enjoyed the activities. I recommend this hotel but be prepared to pay a premium during […] high season. Front desk very helpful – maid service missed our room on second day, but we had plenty of towels – sheets on king size bed undersized so kept slipping off – beach had to much seaweed on it for me – had problem finding parking on Saturday as they were very busy – Great indoor and outdoor pools very clean and saw maintenance checking chlorine levels […] – Great sauna – Plenty of ice for coolers - We would return for another stay. My children had a wonderful time! It's extremely kid friendly and fun. I, however, was very disappointed with the accommodations. The entire resort is in a desparate need of re-modeling. I felt like I was transported back into the 70's. For the rates they charge, surely they can afford a re-do!

Nice beach and pool. Good seafood restaurants near here. Neat and Clean. It was comfortable stay for us with children. One problem was noisy steps of upstairs in the midnight. Maybe they were drunk. Maybe this was due to old facility's structure.
