Sheraton Suites Country Club Plaza - Kansas City

I usually stay at this hotel when I'm in Kansas City. It's a very nice hotel, in a great location, and the rooms are all suites. There are TVs in both rooms, a refrigerator & microwave. The issue I have with my recent stay is that my room was not cleaned/bed not made during my 2 night stay. I was out of my room by 11:30am but when I returned that evening, […] housekeeping had not been in my room. As much as I like the hotel, I will probably stay someplace else in the future. I was very pleased with the Sheraton and the staff. I thought my room was clean and well worth the price. I had room service and the steak was amazing along with the service. I can tell you when I come to Kansas City in the future, I plan on staying at this hotel. Great People and Great Service. Even greater location.

dont like paying alot for a room but it was worth it

Great Hotel, very clean . Staff very friendly and professional. Room was comfortable . Only complaint was the parking , lot fills up fast .

Loved this place! Very peaceful. The rooms are very nice and extremely clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect if you want to be in the Plaza area.

The room we were in had the TV broken and when we called the front desk, they did send up a maintainence worker but the TV was never fixed. Also, there must have been a leak as the carpet on one side of the bed was wet the entire time - we called and no one came up nor did they offer to move us to a different room! The hotel itself wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for us finding a pair of dirty men socks right in the room (one on the very old and over used desk chair, the other on the floor). I had to actually call guest services TWICE to come and remove them and I hardly got an apology... I actually wondered how clean the rest of the room was... Second complaint […] is that I made 3 phone calls to a cell phone, less than 1minute each and was charged $9.60 per call!!! And nowhere in the room was there any indication of these prices for phone calls.They did remove the charges after I called guest services, again!! So i am not too sure what to think about this "not so cheap hotel" besides the fact that the location was very good. Læs mere

I like the location of the hotel, but there is very limited views of the plaza if that's what you are looking for. It is not well maintained, and looks very tired, which makes you wonder how clean everything really is. Room was clean, and staff was nice, but I would pay a little more to stay at a nicer place nearby next time.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, location is great, though the room has little storage for a 6 night stay, had to keep living out of bags, which is frustrating when you travel a lot. From the wall paper in the hall way falling off in more than one place to the fact that the room service menu said one thing they had but the staff said another along with no one answering the front desk phone the 6 times i called and the mold around the hot tub....i will never recommend this hotel to anyone....when i searched hotels i wanted atleast […] a 4 start thinking that meant something when clearly it did not. one good thing, all the staff seemed really nice. but overall that is not enough. The hotel shows it's age (needing of a little update) but it was great for me. The rooms a large and comfortable. I had two issues during my stay and it went as follows. I arrived pretty late into town, checking in at around midnight. At the front desk the clerk was quick and efficient with a pleasant smile during the check in process. After arriving […] to the room, I noticed the heater was not working properly, seemed it was stuck on A/C mode, I called the front desk to see if they could send someone, but rather than waste time, I opted to change rooms, which they did without hesitation. In the second room I had issues with the att internet service they offer (for a fee) but after mentioning it, they promptly took care of it. Christina (I think that was her name) at the front desk was super understanding and worked everything out with nothing but a smile and great attitude! Kudos to her for a job well done. Now for the rest. As I mentioned, I travel for business and a good night sleep is all I need to bring a hotel status from 3 stars to 4 stars and this place was just that, four stars for the comfort of the bed an pillows (with ultra clean sheets), and not to mention how quiet was both nights I stayed. Is this a ab-fab place to take a holiday with your special someone for valentine's day, probably not... but if you need to be in the center of everything, have a great night sleep, wake up with a cup of starbucks and take a long hot shower any time of the day or night, this place might just be exactly what the doctor ordered. Other than all of the items hotels figure out how to charge you for like 99 cent LOCAL phone calls and 12 dollars to park and 15 to valet they are very nice. Very respectful staff ( even waived that ridiculous phone fee) had a great night would love to stay again

The room was way too small for the price that we paid and the hallways were not in that good of shape. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there because they charge too much not not get a luxurious stay.

Hotel was is in a great location, close to some great food and shopping. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was we booked a suite thinking it had two actual beds and it didn't. It had one bed and a pull out couch. We ended up having to rent an other room in order to sleep everyone comfortably.

The Sheraton is in the heart of Country Club Plaza, so if you're into shopping at expensive stores, there is plenty for you to do. If not, it can be limiting. And we needed to go to get some aspirin but there was no where to get any as the nearest drug store was too far to walk to (we didn't rent a car). Luckily, friends drove us around KC to visit […] the sights. The staff was very professional and most were very friendly. I did note we had to ask for more soap, lotions, etc., as they were not replenished automatically. And the reservation indicated there would be robes in the bathrooms, so we didn't bring any, but once in the room there were no robes. Minor complaints, but easily fixed. Læs mere

would not reccommend this hotel at all. No lock on door, shower head was awful and tv remotes didnt work. very dirty carpet, just not a nice room first time stayin at a sheraton and would not stay at one again.

This is a nice hotel, I love the suites but the thermostat did not seem to work in my room & it was a bit warm

Our room was freezing. The air control did not work. The front desk was reluctant to do anything about this problem. Wouldn't even give us extra blankets. After enough complaing and threatening to leave, they switched us to a different room at 1:30 in the morning (even though they had previously insisted that they were sold out and couldn't accommodate […] us). Loved the hotel! The staff was so helpful and cheerful which always makes a stay more enjoyable. It is an older hotel in need of a few updates, but overall a great value for the money and location. You can just walk to the Plaza for the best food and shopping in Kansas City. What a lovely city!

This hotel is in a great location with off street parking. The hotel is clean and well appointed. I was a little dissappointed in our room (lamp not working, missing finial, poor sofa, stuck sliding door in bath) but it was still a good value for the money and we were near our son and the Plaza shopping and dinning.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Sheraton on the Plaza and I would definately do it again. We love the location, (right on the main street of the Plaza), and the quality of the suites.

I was having a girls night out with my daughter and was glad that I only had to stay one night at this hotel as it was a complete disappointment. The front desk chose to put us in a room at the end of the hall next to a stairwell. The door to the room opened out into the hall and there was no safety lock on the inside of the door, only a small chain. […] There were stains on the sheets, a dirty glass in the nightstand, and a broken clothes hook in the bathroom. There was also a problem with their Lodgenet satellite service so we had problem getting various TV channels including any movies. I will give maintenance credit that they did try to fix that problem but nothing changed. When my daughter and I had allergic reactions to the feather bedding at 2am, the front desk didn't answer the phone so we went to the lobby and ended paying $5 for 2 allergy pills as well as to be told that they didn't have any feather free pillows. The clerk also tried to argue with me that they didn't use feather bedding but when I went back to the room, I found that 1 of the comforters and 2 of the pillows were feather while the other 2 pillows were feather free. All in all this was a complete disappointment for a special girls night. Læs mere

The service is awesome!!

The best place to stay in Kansas City

My first preference was booked. Was relieved to get a double queen suite at any price. Room was clean, beds comfortable. Tiny bathroom for 5 people. No extra towels, toiletries, etc considering the room accommodated 2 adults & 3 children. Staff were courteous but that was it. Took room service 3 try's to get everything to our room. Eggs and no toast. […] No milk for kids. Frozen waffles with soggy frozen strawberrys - why bother. Syrup came in bowls, not pitchers. Definitely not up to the price standard. I will say that the very helpful agent did say this was not a cavorts property but I needed something short notice that would accommodate my family in one room Læs mere

Our overall stay at this hotel was good. The location on the plaza is great, the pool is nice, and the staff is courteous. My only complaints are; 1. The rooms need to be cleaner (the bottom of our bare feet literally were black from walking barefoot) 2. it's time to update the room decor..getting dated, 3. I SPECIFICALLY SAID I WAS LOOKING FOR A TWO BEDROOM HOTEL ROOM OR TWO BEDS. THEY PUT ME IN A KING BED ROOM. I DIDN'T KNOW IT UNTIL I GO TO THE ROOM. I FEEL THEY SHOULD ASK BEFORE THEY GIVE YOU A KEY, OR AT LEAST LET YOU KNOW THAT WHAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR WASN'T AVAILABLE. I WASN'T VERY HAPPY SLEEPING ON THE COUCH.

Our room was miserably hot and the entire hotel was also that way. We spent a lot of time waiting at the counter for assistance and did not feel welcome at all. No "thank you's" or anything close. It was as if we were imposing and that is not how a business should be ran. I help run a business and we rely on our customers to continue and survive. Courtesy […] is turning into a lost attribute. The Sheraton Suites @ the Plaza in KC offers an excellent location thanks to its easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants. However, we were disappointed when we returned to our room at 4:00 p.m. on the second day of our stay. It had not yet been cleaned. When I called to report it and inquire as to when they might get to it, I was told they […] had no idea. So, because we were hot, tired and in need of some relaxation, we told them to forget cleaning the room and just bring us fresh towels. I ended-up emptying our wastebaskets in the common ladies room on our floor. Not the end of the world but it would have been nice to have the room cleaned by late afternoon. Læs mere

Unfortunately, the room we originally checked into did not have an air conditioner that worked properly. The hallway was cooler than our room. A nice repairman (Joe) came to fix the air conditioner, but there was not much he could do to fix it until the next day. There were no other rooms available that night, so we had to suffer through and it was […] 101 degrees outside. At 2:30 P.M. the next day, we switched rooms because the air conditioner was still not fixed. Also, the hotel fitness center was under construction, so there was only one bicycle and one treadmill that were set up in a meeting room. There was no T.V. in the meeting room/fitness room. Since I am a daily runner this was pretty unacceptable and since it was 100 degrees outside and I was in an unfamiliar city, I didn't feel comfortable running outside. The tables/desks in both rooms were not in good shape. They need to be replaced. Also, when you flush the toilets, you need earplugs. The lady at the front desk was nice.
