Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach - Hotel & Resort - Oxnard

Vi er en familie på 4 med 2 teenagepiger. Ankom til Hotellet som afslutning på 4 uger USA tur og skule have 5 dage med badeferie. Store forventninger grundet beskrivelser og den høje pris. Det første værelse vi fik lugtede af fugt og råd og der var en affugter derinde som arbejdede på højtryk. Efter 3 nætter i dette værelse uden AC, siom blev repareret […] 2 gange blev vi endeligt flyttet til andet værelse, nu med havudsigt, dejligt. Men stadig AC der ikke fungerede. Faktisk viste det sig at hele bygningen vi boede I ikke havde funktionel AC. Altr vort tøj lugtede af fugt og råd efter de 3 første dage. Vi blev kompenceret med en delvis middag i Hotellets gangske fortræffelige restaurant. Morgenmaden var en prøvelse af tålmodighed. De 2 kokke som tilberedte vart morgenmad arbejdede ualmindeligt langsomt og koncenterede som kun om at inkassere drikkepenge. Den almindelige morgenmad bvlev ikke fyldt op, så man skulle være heldig om at få hvad man ville, ellers tage til takke med de få ting der var tilbage. Bestikket og tallerkner i morgenmadsrestauranten var plast og ganke ubrugeligt, slet ikke forventligt til den pris. Det var svært at få liggestole ved poolen, og håndklæder var konstant en mangelvare. Vi mener at hotellet burde fratages mindst 1 stjerne og prisen var absolut 30-40% for høj, sammenlignet med de 12 andre hotreller vi har benyttet på vores rundrejse i USA. Det levede ganske enkelt ikke op til beskrivelsen. Den mest positive opleelse var Lee, hotellets vicevært, som havde en skøn lune og bestemt gjorde alt hvad han kunne for at at hjælpe os med vores AC-problemer, men måtte til slut erkende at der ikke var funktionel Aircondition i hele bygningen. Vores forventninger til dette hotel var at det skulle ligge på vores rute til Santa Monica fra San Francisco på Highway 1, og at der skulle være plads til os alle 5. Vi havde et rigtig godt ophold på Mandalay Beach. Hotellet ligger lige ned til stranden i pæne omgivelser. Dejlig, stor pool og flere hot tubs. God morgenmad med bredt udvalg og "happy hour" de fleste eftermiddage. 1½ times kørsel til Los Angeles Int. Airport. Vi kan kalrt anbefale hotellet.

As a frequent business traveler, I typically don't answer these surveys however I have to share how happy I was at this hotel. I rarely say that a hotel was nicer than it's pictures but this one was. It was wonderful. I take an annual trip to this Embassy Suites. The hotel has completed a lot of upgrades since last year this time. The only constructive criticism I have, is that the Surf Room (where breakfast and cocktail hour are served) needs some work; a bit drab and uninspired.

When we went the weather wasn't that great but the hotel is beautiful! The breakfast was good for a free breakfast. And I like that you get free drinks and snacks at the reception. The pool was wonderful and rooms were very clean and in the middle of a renovation to make them even nicer. Over all I'd love to go back again.

I got much more than I expected with this hotel - its a beach front resort that doesn't come across this way until you pull up at the front door. Would gladly have stayed longer.

No hot water during my stay. Advertized as "ocean view" but no suck luck

This hotel remains at an average rating due to the construction and renovations currently in progress. We will likely return after the work has been completed, when that rating will return to 4-5 stars. Based on other reviews here and on Yelp, we chose a higher end room to avoid being placed in a part of the hotel that was being worked on. Our partial […] ocean view room was very well appointed and the ocean view was exactly as advertised (looking straight out, we had a view of a residential neighborhood and parking lot; to the right one could make out the ocean over the sandy hills). The only complaints- the hot water fluctuated hot and cold during a 10 minute shower and there were no washcloths provided. Breakfast was included in a central location that was mobbed with rude children who cut in line and parents who failed to control them. Go to breakfast early if you wish to avoid long lines, poor guest behavior, and screaming level noise. Despite our dining at 9a (breakfast on the weekend is served until 11a), there were still plenty of options as the staff kept everything well stocked. If we had children, I doubt we would have been phased, but as a couple traveling alone - it was one of the less pleasant parts of our stay even with deliciously fluffy pancakes. As to service, that part was superb. From Nick at the check-in to the many construction workers and maids we encountered, all greeted us verbally and made sure we did not require anything further. This resort will be a gem once the construction has finished. We booked an ocean view room and when we arrived they said it was a regular room. It was 11:30pm so we took the room and the next day we spoke to the manager and he said the same thing and refused to change our room unless we paid an extra 50.00 for each night. The line to check in was extremely ,we waited over 30 minutes to check in. We forgot our phone chargers in our room and called the hotel that very same day and they were not able to help us. They actually questioned if we indeed had left them behind. Til this day we have not heard back from them.

check in was fairly easy.the front desk was relatively busy,clerks took time in making sure everyone had their own time and made sure things were explained. i reserved a room for a couple under my name and they got there before us from las vegas and i was so thankful they were checked in lest they would have waited hours by the time we got to oxnard. the […] girl that was at the parking gate remembered why we were in oxnard at check out time which really made us feel special because she remembered.we were not a loud or obnoxious group that we would be an unforgettable group. we loved our room which overlooked the ocean. would you please remind your housekeepers to please knock on the door before using their keys to enter rooms.please remind them that even though there is a designated check out time,it is rather embarrassing for the guest and the housekeeper to walk in on guests who would be doing something that they do not want others to see. our stay was great,i strongly recommend this hotel.infact,i will be going back to this hotel on spring break to show my kids and my family the great experience i had in feb. After 5 hours of driving with two young children, smelling urine in our hotel room was not a welcoming sign. We called the front desk twice before someone came. Because the housekeeper couldn't smell anything herself, she made no attempt to clean the rug. Instead she started spraying air freshener. The hotel was booked so we couldn't change rooms. The […] next morning we woke up to find a shattered light bulb on the balcony. It took housekeeping two days and two calls to the reception desk to get someone out there to sweep it up. Love the hotel. Price was reasonable given the room and view. However, check in was a little awkward. Nobody was allowed to check in early (never experienced that at a hotel before). That lead to a long line and wait as everybody rushed to check in at 3:00. I've read other complaints about this issue. It was surprisingl awesome. I read some other reviews before booking at Embassy Suites and noticed that people mentioned that the property is old. We actually got a newly renovated room. The room itself was really spacious and ocean view was awesome. However, it was a bit lackluster. Management can definitely think about adding some more colors to the […] room. We were right on the beach. If you want ocean view, ocean front, or even just being there, you are only a few feet from the ocean. Leaving the window open even when it was cold was enjoyable to just listen to the ocean and the waves crashing against the shore. We are definately going back this summer.

This hotel sits right on the ocean & is a easy walk to the surf. Our third floor ocean facing room allowed for a spectacular view of the ocean, it's waves & the sunset. The hotel staff were very pleasant & accommodating. Dinner at the hotel was great. Many fine restaurants in the area for outside dining if you choose to dine out.

Loved the hotel only downside was paying for parking.

Great location, right on the beach. Rooms were large with two full bathrooms. The only bad part of our stay was breakfast. The breakfast line was a mad house! Super long, slow moving line for a hot breakfast.

Without even asking, the hotel upgraded us to an ocean front room! I have stayed here many times in the past, and have always been satisfied! The only disappointment was that if you want a spa service, they were unresponsive. I left messages to make an appointment (which the hotel services out) and never received a phone call back. The location and grounds of this hotel are nice but beyond that there is NOTHING to recommend it. Our room smelled musty. Some kind of water ran all nite from the vent above the mini bar. All the faucets leaked. Not enough water pressure to run a bath in under an hour and then it would be cold. All the fans were filthy. If you looked behind the bed […] and nitestands...very dirty. Towels the quality of a motel 6. No maid service on Thanksgiving Day. Our bedroom remote had no batteries. Light bulbs burned out in the sitting area. Do not waste your money. My wife, son and I stayed here a few nights to get out of the LA craziness. The room was clean and not in disrepair, but there was a vomit smell that would come and go and it seemed to be coming from the bar area. It could have been coming from the heater vent above. We loved staying right on the beach and within walking distance of an awesome playground. […] The food at the Capistrano was very good. The surf was great and not crowded at all. We decided to book our wedding weekend there, having never been there. On arrival ,The staff that greeted us n our family needs some better training in customer services. We selected the Embassy Suites for it's beach access and relative short distance to Santa Barbara. Excited, but somewhat concerned as some reviews were not very positive about the rooms. We stayed 2 nights in this hotel/resort and overall enjoyed our stay. Yes, we agree that the rooms would benefit from a make-over (note: The staff mentioned that the […] remodeling would be completed by spring next year). But, the lay-out and space of the rooms was perfectly fine for a family with 2 young kids. Breakfast buffet (included) was very convenient and offered enough choices. The outdoor pool and hot tubs (2) amid very nice landscaping were enjoyed by all of us. Access to the beach is great. Unfortunately, typical for this time of the year, overcast skies and fog made it less appealing to spend all day at the beach. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and were not really impressed with the service, food and prices (despite the overall good rating). Loved the amenities here, but the hotel is getting pretty run down. There was lots of grime and broken things in our suite. I hope they hurry up and remodel, because we LOVE this location. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT WE GOT THE ROOM PAST THE TIME IT WAS 3:25 WHEN WE GOT THE ROOM, SO I TOLD THEM YOU WANT US OUT BY 12:00 BUT THE ROOM IS NOT EVEN READY SO THEN GAVE US AN UP GRADE VERY NICE THEN WERE SORRY BUT OTHER THAT THAT VERY NICE MY FAMILY LOVE IT AND THAT'S ALL IT MATTER TO ME.

I was here for work and wished I had my family with me. The grounds are beautiful, restaurant & free breakfast excellent. I stayed in a king suite and the layout was great. Outstanding

I was visiting my son who is in the Navy and stationed at Port Hueneme. The Embassy was a very convenient location for that purpose. The entire staff that I came into contact with was very friendly and most helpful. The breakfast each morning was very good!

the hotel in general is fine, the room did not have a warming welcoming feeling, the rooms have to be updated with modern look. Felt humid and smelling. The color in the wall is not pretty for a hotel that 's so pricey, it's like a motel 6 look.

Embassy suites is a four star room, very nice, Too many kids in pool, and water too warm for lap swimming. Cook to order breckfast was a five on scale of ten. Nice beach.Deffantly a three star experience. Great hotel chose for kids.

The location is amazing, right on the beach. The view is wonderful, there are plenty of relaxing things to do. You get a free breakfast (slightly better than your typical continental breakfast, you get some hot foods) and free drinks and snacks (popcorn, nachos, or veggies) at happy hour. The pool is beautiful, and the gardens are well kept. There are […] plenty of outdoor games for the kids to do (baggo, etc). This is the kind of place you stay at if you'll be spending a lot of time outside. The rooms themselves are outdated and kind of ugly, our a/c didn't work, and no screens on the windows to keep the bugs out. The partial ocean view is a joke, maybe if you go outside on the balcony and stick your head really far out, you can see the ocean. Save your money and go for a garden view or go all out for an ocean view. But overall, I still have to say I'd go back because of how close you are to the beach and how relaxing it is. I just wish the price wasn't so ridiculous. Next time, I think we'll plan to go during the middle of the week instead of on a weekend. Læs mere

Very nice hotel with a very big pool and jacuzzis.

This was a very disappointing stay. Although the service was good, the condition of the room was not. We had 2 clogged drains which smelled of raw sewage. The plumber did his best to repair the clog (needing a very loud 'snake' !) but the problem was just too difficult to fix that late at night. We had to move rooms- at 11:30PM- and we were only given […] dinner credit for our trouble. (BTW- the dinner credit didn't even cover half of our meal!) Læs mere

Generally the service and condition of Hotel was good. Breakfast and happy hour was good. We stayed on the Ocean Front side and was a bit disappointed with the dresser drawers that were dirty with sand. I couldn't store clothes in them. Overall It's a good hotel and always fun to stay at.

We found out they are starting in October and hope to complete by Spring. This place is a great venue and we had a great time and very relaxing. The breakfast was enough to carry us through to an early dinner. Great spread...

Staff unfriendly-room felt like we were in a basement room- air conditioner didn't work- front desk staff had the personality of a roach! Save your money and find a GREAT place to stay but don't stay here!

Location is beautiful! Beach is fun for walking, running, building castles and flying kites. You can rent bikes or surfers. Pool and spa are clean and well-kept. Complimentary breakfast and managers reception (good cocktails, popcorn, soda and shaved ice for kids, chips and salsa). Our family comes for a weekend every summer for the last 12 years.

I love this hotel! It definately needs some updating, but it is clean and has spacious rooms. the grounds are beautiful and is on the beach. They offer a nice selection for breakfast.

I was worried my baby would cry all night and other guests would complain. I have a 6month old. She enjoyed the room! The free breakfast and drinks are ok, and we appreciate free. The beach so close by! The views are great, neighborhood is cool. Wonderful resort with great staff. The facility does need a little updating but it was a great value....truly no complaints though. The pool area is VERY nice and the resort is right on the beach.
