Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue - Seattle

Godt solidt hotel, som kan anbefales. Rummet var dog lidt mørkt og kedeligt

Hotellet ligger tæt på det hele i kort gåafstand. Meget venligt personale og hyggelig bar/restaurant i kælderetagen. Alt var i orden og deres WIFI fungerede uden problemer. Kan helt klart anbefales.

The concergie and front desk service gave us wrong information nearly each time we asked. You hear everything in your room, when the elevators are runing, when your neighbor is taking a shower or the traffic on 5th Avenue

Was impressed with the ease of accessibility, and quick check-in and out. Parking is very convenient although be warned that it does not take vehicles taller than 6'2" (We barely fit our Xterra under ). The room we were given was a corner room, with two queen beds - lots of room , very comfortable beds and pillows. Room temperature was a warm and we […] could not turn down the thermostat, but that is our only complaint. We loved the hotel, location, restaurants, and employees were excellent. This hotel has a serious temperature problem, and thermostats do not work. We arrived with the room at 50 degrees in the room and were freezing. Had to sleep in layers, robe and slippers. Maintenance came out 4 or 5 times with ladder in our room. The staff was very professional and effecient. It is a nice hotel. Large, clean room. The best part about the hotel is the location. It is only a few blocks away from everything.

The hotel was great, excellent location and the remodeled room were very nice. The rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and always had a smile. About the only disappointment was the continental breakfast was not included.

It was nice but could hear persons in the next room talking, the television, toilet flushing. It would have been nice to have an extra blanket in the room. There was a really bad draft blowing in under the door so had to put a towel at the base of the door to block the cold wind. Food was a bit pricey in the restaurant. Great location we didn't even have to drive anywhere once we arrived, until the day we left. We walked to the mall, pike place market, and there's plenty of resturants. Would stay again.

Very nice well run hotel. Breakfast buffet was great, next time I would get a package including the parking if available.

Had an excellent view and very conveinently located. Close to all public transportation as well as the famous Market. Would definitely stay here again!

Good ambience in restaurant and public spaces. Excellent location for exploring downtown on foot. Poor physical condition in some rooms -- toilet stopped functioning twice in room No. 1, so we requested and were given room No. 2 where everything worked. Several trips back to front desk for key cards failing which staff helpfully replaced.

Don't forget the parking fee is in addition to the hotel room - $32 per day. Parking is convenient, though.

Wow, this hotel was in the perfect location around the corner from train and monorail station, close to shopping, Pikes market and waterfront. Only a couple dollars to ride the train from the SeaTac airport to hotel on a very clean, safe train. Short monorail ride to the space needle. I was very pleased with the Red Lion, very clean and friendly and […] in a safe neighborhood. The bell hop held our bags after checkout so we could walk around town. When we checked in on Tuesday evening, the gentleman at the front desk was a bit rude. Also, there was a lot of noise in our hall the last night of our stay. We had to call the front desk to quiet the party next door at 3 AM. Other than the man at the front desk who checked us in, the front desk people were courteous and helpful, as was the concierge […] and the bell captain. However, it only takes one discourteous person in customer service to make an impression on the hotel overall. I'm not sure I would return to this particular hotel, although it was in a nice area. This hotel has a great location in the heart of Seattle. Our room was very nice and comfortable with a view of the water. The breakfast however was terrible, both the buffet and ordering from the menu. The day we were there we didn't have any hot water for showers, found out they had a major problem with the water system. This is a great location if you are interested in avoiding driving in downtown Seattle because many of the highlights are within walking distance. In fact this is why I chose this hotel. - However, be warned, there is a parking fee of $40 per day! Yikes! I was not aware of this when I booked the room through a special on hotels.com (this pretty much […] negated the special rate I thought I was getting.) - - The hotel was beautiful and very clean and we enjoyed our stay. - But I was disappointed that we booked a room with 2 queens and got a room with 2 fulls... and that there was no continental breakfast. The overall of this hotel is very good, except high parking fee.

Red Lion on 5th is in the middle of where you want to be in Seattle. We walked: 3 blocks to Pike Place Market and explored the Market and surrounding museums, shops and restaurants; then to the Space Needle by way of Seattle's Glass Blowing Studio. At the Needle, we boarded the monorail which stops a block from the hotel. The hotel is very nice, clean […] with a friendly and helpful staff. A day in Seattle was not enough. Yea - i travel a LOT. It takes a lot for me to write a review at all. The hotel either needs to be fabulous, or it had to suck royally. This hotel fits into the latter category. 1. Check-in Experience: No early check in that day, but when i returned at 3 there was a huge line. That was fine too - until they couldn't find me a room. It took them another […] hour with me standing at the front counter - meanwhile others are checking in without problem? I was paying FULL RATE. 2. Small room - like NYC small. And i paid FULL RATE. I understand some rooms are not like others - but this room was obviously the broom closet room. 3. No coffee maker in the room. Who does THAT?? 4. No hot water last morning before checkout. No hot water - and i mean NON - i mean ICE COLD water. I don't complain on business trips - i don't believe in being a squeaky wheel. But this place sucked. I've stayed at Red Lyon before in Anaheim and enjoyed it very much - this place however will never get my business again. Læs mere

My Husband works in Vancouver, WA, My daughter attends Western Washington University and my other daughter and I live in Ellensburg, WA. Seattle is our favorite place to meet up. We booked 2 rooms, one for us and one for our young adult daughters. They were able to put us close together on the same floor. The hotel is next to everything! We never used […] our cars once the entire weekend. We shopped, caught a musical, went to Pikes and our favorite restaurants. One thing I would change (and it became the running joke), were the opaque bathroom doors. Just enjoyable and comfortable!!! I would stay there again for sure. Very very polite and assertive people that work there. Fantastic downtown location. Seattle is great!!!

The Red Lion was clean, quiet, modern, etc. The price was half that of neighboring hotels, all in the same happening part of town. I encountered only two problems: 1) the temperature of the room was really quite cool and could not be adjusted and 2) the water in the shower was only hot (as opposed to tepid) very early in the morning (6:00 a.m. was great, […] 7:00 a.m. pretty chilly.) I do not mind wearing a sweater indoors (!) and I keep my house cool, so I'm not a wimp. I would indeed stay here again nonetheless. Pros: Very close walking distance to Pikes and the Aquarium/waterfront/Miners Landing. Very close to Monorail that goes to the Space Needle. Fairly Close to Pioneer Square. Secure parking. Friendly Staff Computer w/ printer in the lobby, Cons: Ice Machine on my floor did not work nor did it on a couple others. No hot water one morning, was fixed within […] half an hour and was given late checkout. Expensive Parking but was not charged for the few extra hours I stayed. Had an excellent stay here. Staff was friendly, there was good room service, price was right, bed was the most comfy I've had at a hotel.

Enjoyed our stay and would stay again. I think the breakfast buffett could offer more though.

The Red Lion on 5th has the PERFECT location! It's within great walking distance of Pike Place Market, the mall, bars, stores, etc. The hotel was perfect with bell service and an awesome bar/restaurant below it. The service and cleanliness was superb. The size of the room was perfect. I definitely want to go back ASAP and stay there again!

I've been to Seattle on a variety of different occasions; for work, for play, for school. I've never really been comfortable at any of the hotels. They're either too cheap or expensive. There was never anything in the middle. Red Lion on Fifth really blew me away with the room I stayed in. It overlooked Elliot Bay, had an incredibly comfortable king-sized […] bed, and the staff was all kinds of friendly. Walking distance to everything, including Capitol Hill. This will be my go-to hotel in the future. Læs mere

Nice place that is very centrally located. Walked all over downtown and also to the train station at the end of our trip.

Big bright lobby with computer access, attached to the Elephant & Castle Pub, several elevators, nice modern decor, clean updated rooms - not huge but nicely renovated and functional. Comfortable bed but the Queen felt a bit smaller than our Queen Size at home and it would have been nice to have a duvet for comfort/warmth. Nice bathroom but the hot […] water could have been a little hotter. Would definitely stay here again though! We very much enjoyed our stay. Strawberry-cucumber water in the lobby was a nice welcome. An older building with many upgrades. Nice tile and granite in the bathroom and very comfortable beds. Excellent value for a stay downtown. We often stay at other hotels with pool etc, but find we don't have time to use the extra amenities, so often feel money […] is wasted. The rooms, beds, staff, and location are great pluses for the Red Lion. The price was a great bargain compared to other hotels in the area. I only had one issue, which the staff took care of, and that was there were issues with the heat in the first room that I was given that was freezing. The staff moved me to another room and was much more comfortable. […] I really appreciate the staff sending up an engineer to test the heating and their assistance in finding me a room that was warmer The hot water was pretty luke warm in the morning (evenings were better). Internet connection was good as I was doing a lot of work while I was in town. The bed was comfortable and I slept well after the move. Front desk staff was very friendly and saw to my needs. We were there for a family wedding and the hotel staff could not have been any more accommodating! The location is smack in the middle of downtown - 4 blocks from Pike Place Market, one block to the Space Needle Monorail and great shopping, Starbucks and Specialty's across the street.
