Hottellet ligger rigtigt centralt i forhold til de store seværdigheder i det centrale Washington DC. Det er slidt og af ældre dato, men det er funktionelt og vi havde ikke noget at udsætte på servicen. Desværre er hotellet stort og billigt, hvilket lejrskoler og lignende også benytter sig af. Det var ret irriterende, at den pris hotels.com oplyste blev belagt med en skat på 10 procent pr. overnatning da vi tjekkede ud og skulle betale regningen! Vi forventede at den oplyste pris var den fulde pris!

Fint suite-værelse med separat soverum. Der var lidt mørkt og kun to stole ved spisepladsen, men ellers fine faciliteter. Vi havde booket to nætter til at "komme" os efter en lang flyvetur med to børn, og det var hotellet rigtig fint til.

Georgetown er den allermest kosmopolitanske side af Washington DC. Her holder de store Beltway-kanoner hof på fine restauranter langs M Street, en travl shoppinghovedgade. Udover at hotellet var beliggende tæt på the Mall og andre vigtige seværdigheder, så forvent ikke det helt store. Sengene er ok, men måske virker dit tv og internet forbindelsen ikke. Morgenmaden er ikke prangende, men ok.
"Stay away from this hotel"
I encourage everyone to stay away from this hotel. The service is terrible. One of their valet parking workers gave me my car back with 2 feet long scraping on the rear door along with a big dent. When I reported the damage to them the administration resorted to procrastination tactics and after two weeks of waiting they informed me that their insurance […] company would not cover the damage. I am still fighting it, and will do my best to get them to pay for what they have done to my car. What upsets me the most is that the valet driver did not acknowledge the accident and deliberately attempted to conceal it from me. Moreover, the hotel administration added more insults to the injury by evading being held accountable. So, my advice to all of you to is to find a different hotel that really value their guests and take care of their properties. This one has failed miserably in all these basic services. Læs mere
"Unreliable - bad service"
The hotel promised hotel parking. However - it was not available ... neither after a wait for two hours. Their "suggestions" was to pay a large fee for valet parking. Room service was good, rooms were also good but the service and help in the lobby was non existing.

"Super beliggenhed"
Rigtig fint hotel med skønne og flot vedligeholdte værelser. Gåafstand til de største seværdigheder i Washinghon DC.
"Rart og godt sted"
Et rart sted at bo med gåafstand til det hele. Godt med eget tekøkken så man kunne lave sin egen mad og der var vasket op, når man kom hjem.

Close to tourist attractions.
This was a great place to stay in Washington. It's location is perfect and the staff wonderful. I would definitely go back.

State Plaza Hotel is just 2 blocks from the Lincoln Memorial, 10 minute walk to Foggy Bottom subway station, and each comfortable room has large bathroom / dressing room + full kitchen. The kitchen was a great amenity for our family. I loved this hotel, loved the location, it is so cute, clean and in a wonderful neighborhood. Check in and check out were easy and smooth. Free wifi was great. I will absolutely stay here again when I return to DC!!!
"cherry blossom weekend"
Great time, excellent location, good value, we saw the parade, rented bikes and went around the monuments, room was big and clean with coffee maker and refrigerator. perfect

Stayed here for open house at GWU. Very convenient location for university and sight-seeing. Only problem was temperature in room. Could not seem to keep a comfortable range - either got too warm or too cold. Had some noise problems with renovations above us; staff offered to change our room but by the time we got back to the room things were considerably […] quieter. Bistro is a little overpriced in my opinion for what you get. People with a handicap (wheelchair, etc.) would find access very difficult but this seems to be true of many DC buildings. Læs mere
"Chic, Sophisticated, Comfy and Quiet"
This hotel is very nice. You can tell it is old, but not because of lack of maintainance, just because you can tell old pieces have been very well taken care of (I don't know they can keep the bathroom looking so good with the dated ceramics!). I would have to complain about the room service because the menu was very limited and when you'd call you […] had to leave a message for them to get back at you, and they never did, so I had to end up going out to get food. "State Plaza in DC - Convenient & Clean"
We enjoyed our stay at this unique hotel. While it is old it is clean and well maintained. Our room was very comfortable with an eat in kitchen. The drains in the bath could use some work as well as new caulking around bathtub but that is our only criticism. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very nice. It must have been updated since some of the reviews I read before my stay. I stayed there 4/2012, and was very pleased with my room. The hotel is within walking distance to the mall. My only negative is the reviews I read led me to believe the hotel was closer to the Metro than it really is. Staying at the State Plaza Hotel was like walking back in time. The lobby has a wonderful old European feel. Our suite was spacious with a full kitchen and a closed off bedroom with 2 queeen size beds. The furniture, in a vintage Chinese style, had beautiful detail. We loved the location, just a brisk walk to the National Mall. We will be coming back to this hotel. The layout is kind of funny, but that's DC for you. Nice little bistro on the opposite side. The rooms are so clean and convenient with well sized kitchenette.

This place is a secret jewel hidden near George Washington University. Not only was it lovely, but our small suite - which was very reasonable $ wise - also had a kitchenette. The hotel clearly met our needs vis-a-vis location, room amenities and cleanliness. One thing that would have been helpful would be information on the sites and restaurants in the area. It was difficult finding a local restaurant appropriate to our needs.On the whole though it was a welcome respite at reasonable cost. Would look forward to staying there […] again. "Great for families"
We stayed for a weekend with our 2 year old. The large suites made it nice for her to still have room to run around and play. The separate bedroom allowed her to take a nap, and the kitchen made it nice to eat breakfast and lunch in the room. A great place to see the sights from as well!

The hotel was undergoing renovation in the tower we were located, which prevented a problem due to work but the hotel moved us. "Disappointing hotel in a great location"
This hotel is in a great location between the monuments and GW University. The service was good. But, the hotel itself was older and rundown. I could only recommend this hotel to someone on a budget who doesn't plan to spend much time in the hotel.
"Bad customer service, good location"
I booked this hotel based on the good comments. I'll never stay there again. The hotel was sufficient at best but some of the staff were rude. When I checked in the staff member said as little as possible, was not friendly, did not even tell me which building we were in. I requested a king room and got a queen. They did fix this though. The lobby is […] not accessible for stroller/wheelchairs to get the to the rooms. The bathroom was old and dirty. The bed was hard. Location is ideal for seeing the monuments and an excellent location if you are interested in GW University. Close (4 blocks) to Foggy Bottom metro stop. nice walk thru GW campus. A couple nice places to eat close by. Expensive to park so leave the car home if possible. Spacious and clean rooms. Could use some art work or window dressing but very comfortable. Hotel was fine, there were a few ants but clean overall. Suite was large and had it's own kitchen which was great.The hotel is located very close to the must-see sights however there are no restaurants or night life anywhere close to the hotel. My only issue is that the door to the bedroom got jammed shut because it's an older building and it took over […] a half hour for someone to come up to fix it. "Strange place"
We had never stayed here before, and we probably would not do so again, This is a really quirky place with apparently two room towers, although nobody tells you that, Everything has a dorm-like feel, the elvators are the slowest on earth, and as my work colleague and I discovered, the quality of supposedly equivalent rooms varied greatly. Mine (#608) […] was fine , if somewhat dated, but hers (#808) had stained carpeting and mismatched furniture -- rather creepy. In sum, I'd say this is a "just ok" landing place, but if you can ,pay the extra $$ per night somewhere else to feel better about the bang for the buck. And one final thing, the affiliated restaurant is accessed (I kid you not) by walking through a downstairs parking garage.
